Here’s Why the Science Is Clear That Masks Work

The debate over masks’ effectiveness in fighting the spread of the coronavirus intensified recently when a respected scientific nonprofit said its review of studies assessing measures to impede the spread of viral illnesses found it was “uncertain whether wearing masks or N95/P2 respirators helps to slow the spread of respiratory viruses.”

Now the organization, Cochrane, says that the way it summarized the review was unclear and imprecise, and that the way some people interpreted it was wrong.

“Many commentators have claimed that a recently updated Cochrane review shows that ‘masks don’t work,’ which is an inaccurate and misleading interpretation,” Karla Soares-Weiser, the editor in chief of the Cochrane Library, said in a statement.

“The review examined whether interventions to promote mask wearing help to slow the spread of respiratory viruses,” Soares-Weiser said, adding, “Given the limitations in the primary evidence, the review is not able to address the question of whether mask wearing itself reduces people’s risk of contracting or spreading respiratory viruses.”

Obviously, this cherry picked statement, which doesn’t fully support the actual study, makes super scientist Tufekci and her NY Times Comrades very happy, because…oh, wait, she’s not a scientist, she has a degree in sociology, and forced masking was never about science. It was always about compliance.

“Mask mandates, social distancing, the other shutdowns we had in terms of even restaurants and things like that — if places like New York City didn’t do that, the number of deaths would have been much higher,” he told me. “I’m very confident of that statement.”

So the evidence is relatively straightforward: Consistently wearing a mask, preferably a high-quality, well-fitting one, provides protection against the coronavirus.

Yet, we were told that it was OK to not wear a mask while eating in a restaurant. The number of COVID related deaths and infections was much higher during the time of forced masking, even with the vaccines, than prior to forced masking. If pollen was getting into the mask, then COVID could get in. Regardless, government decided it would force compliance on the peasants, all while the Elites would play games with removing their own masks

How often did we see it play out where they did not wear masks? Remember the Super Bowl in California? How about Joe Biden and all his people who would come up to the podium and remove the mask? If they worked, wouldn’t wearing it while speaking inside be the exact freaking time to wear it to stop COVID from spreading? It was a scam. A way to force compliance with government mandates. Hence why a hardcore leftist sociologist would heavily support masking.

Besides being an insufferable cult, why the need for Enovid if masks work? Enovid, which is not approved for use in Canada (or the US) yet, is supposed to be over 95% effective at killing off COVID and other viruses. It’s also expensive, so, this is a nice case of Elite privilege. These people are all nuts. And, separately, how much pollution are they creating? You are supposed to dispose an N95 at least daily.

Energy Secretary Says We Can Learn A Lot From China On Climate Crisis (scam)

Energy Secretary Granholm claims US can ‘learn from what China is doing’ on climate change

U.S. Department of Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm claimed Friday that Americans can “learn from what China is doing” in combating climate change.

During an interview at the annual SXSW conference in Austin, Texas, Granholm sang the praises of China for its efforts to reduce climate change, claiming the country is actually “very sensitive” about the issue, more so than the United States.

Granholm made these claims despite the fact that China recently hit its coal-production record last year. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, “55% of China’s energy” now comes from fossil fuel “compared to 11% in the U.S.” (snip)

Granholm said, “I mean, there’s a couple of countries that we know are outliers and don’t care,” but clarified that China isn’t actually one of them.

She then praised China’s climate change efforts, saying, “But, I think China has done — has been very sensitive, and has actually invested a lot in their solutions, to achieve their goals.”

Granholm added, “So we’re — we’re hopeful that, you know, we can all learn from what China is doing.”

The secretary also noted, “the amount of money that they’re investing in clean energy is actually, you know, encouraging.”

What can we learn? Well, China talks a big game, but, doesn’t practice what they preach. Much like most of the Elite Warmist, including Granholm. They are selling substandard, underpriced solar panels around the world, cornering the market, particularly in 1st World nations who have great lives and nothing else to care about other than the climate scam. China does a wonderful job in having a centralized, authoritarian government. Is that what Granholm wants us to learn? How about their forced labor from children and Muslims?

GOP House Moves Legislation On Parental Rights And Banning Trans In Women’s Sports

Almost every single poll shows that the citizens do not want men who pretend they’re women competing against biological women, and quite a few election results show that parents do not like the way schools are hiding what they’re doing from parents. Neither of these bills has a chance of passing the Democrat run Senate, as they will surely filibuster if Chuck Schumer even allows a vote

House Republicans Advance Bill Banning Males from Competing in Female Sports

House Republicans are advancing legislation which would prevent biological males from competing in female sports as well as ensure parental rights in education.

The Education and Workforce Committee this week advanced two bills — H.R. 5, the Parents Bill of Rights Act, as well as H.R.734 – Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2023 — to the House floor. The first bill, H.R. 5, aims to “ensure the rights of parents are honored and protected in the Nation’s public schools.”

The bill itself, unveiled by Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and House Republicans earlier this month, lists several parental rights, including the right to review their child’s school curriculum; the right to “know if the State alters the State’s challenging State academic standards; the right to see a list of the books and other reading materials in the library of their child’s school; the right to see the school’s budget and expenditures; and more.

This shouldn’t even be controversial, and shouldn’t even be necessary, but, we’ve all seen the way many school systems and teachers have been acting over the past few years

The committee also advanced H.R.734 – Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2023, which specifically amends the Education Amendments of 1972 “to provide that for purposes of determining compliance with title IX of such Act in athletics, sex shall be recognized based solely on a person’s reproductive biology and genetics at birth,” per the bill.

“It shall be a violation of subsection (a) for a recipient of Federal financial assistance who operates, sponsors, or facilitates athletic programs or activities to permit a person whose sex is male to participate in an athletic program or activity that is designated for women or girls,” the bill states, recognizing sex as strictly based on an individual’s reproductive biology and genetics at the time of birth.

Men should not be allowed to compete in women’s sports, taking away all the hard work women put in to compete, even causing them to lose scholarships. It demoralizes them. Nor should they be in the women’s locker rooms, bathrooms, and showers. It’s just incomprehensible to me why Democrats are so gun ho on erasing women, and why feminist groups haven’t worked harder to protect women.

Here’s a big question: do these bills belong at the federal level in our Federalist system? The one on trans surely does, as there is Title IX, and the Constitution is meant to protect citizens from this kind of abuse. Parental rights? Well, I might have said no, this is a state issue, but, since the federal government rather took over education, Congress has the ability to pass laws like this. It would be best done at the state level, though. That said, McCarthy knows neither will pass the Senate, and, even if they somehow made it, Biden would veto. They are meant to put Democrats on the record as opposing parental choice and protecting women.

Earth is warming up. So why is California having a record-breaking winter?

My anxiety is on high alert every time I’ve had to leave my house over the last couple of months,” Ben Lomond resident Cheryl Noon told The Chronicle on Thursday. Noon and her two children have had to evacuate from the Santa Cruz Mountains three times since January.

“I don’t know how long I’m going to be gone,” Noon said.

All this winter weather may seem to be at odds with the hotter, drier California that scientists expect with climate change, as greenhouse gas emissions raise global temperatures. But that trend is taking place over longer timescales, across the entire planet. What happens in California from year to year — or even winter to winter — can vary dramatically and still fit into the bigger story, scientists say.

“Weather does not equal climate,” said Erica Siirila-Woodburn, a hydrology research scientist at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, by email.

Well, that’s very interesting. The San Francisco Chronicle is taking the line from about 10 years ago, that the doomy warmth is coming, but, hey, sometimes it will get really cold.

Some scientists also think that atmospheric warming can change how air masses move around the planet by altering jet streams, strong winds that travel about 5-9 miles above the Earth’s surface.

“As the Earth warms, the general circulation that keeps a nice jet stream and contains that polar air up in the polar regions starts to break down,” said Mike Anderson, state climatologist with the California Department of Water Resources, during a March 3 media briefing.

Ah, there it is. It gets super warm so it makes places super cold. Cult Thought.

House Votes Unanimously To Declassify COVID Origins Intelligence

House votes to declassify info about origins of COVID-19

The House voted unanimously Friday to declassify U.S. intelligence information about the origins of COVID-19, a sweeping show of bipartisan support near the third anniversary of the start of the deadly pandemic.

The 419-0 vote was final congressional approval of the bill, sending it to President Joe Biden’s desk. It’s unclear whether the president will sign the measure into law, and the White House said the matter was under review.

“I haven’t made that decision yet,” Biden said late Friday when asked whether he would sign the bill.

Debate in the House was brief and to the point: Americans have questions about how the deadly virus started and what can be done to prevent future outbreaks.

“The American public deserves answers to every aspect of the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Rep. Michael Turner, R-Ohio, the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee.

So, what will Biden do? Will he veto it? Sure seems like it would be easy to over-ride that veto. If he signs it or fails to do anything, it becomes law and the Executive Branch has 90 days to release it all. Of course, Biden may well stonewall. Or attempt to hide intelligence. And, heck, many of the agencies may attempt to hide intelligence and documents, which Biden and his people wouldn’t even know about.

Bill Gates criticizes idea of leading ‘impoverished lifestyle’ to address climate change

Microsoft founder Bill Gates reiterated his view last week in the contentious debate about whether individual sacrifice can make a tangible difference in the fight against climate change, casting doubt on the idea that living an “impoverished lifestyle” or becoming a vegetarian could put a dent in rising greenhouse gas emissions.

“In climate movements, you can get this ‘Hey, we’ve been consuming too much,’ and ‘Hey, maybe we shouldn’t travel anymore,’” Gates said last week in remarks delivered in India. “I don’t think we can count on people living an impoverished lifestyle as a solution to climate.”

Gates, who is estimated to be the fourth-richest person on Earth, went on to say it was not realistic to expect that the climate crisis could be addressed by personal choices such as giving up eating meat.

“Will all Indians become vegetarians? Will all Americans become vegetarians? I wouldn’t want to count on it. Anybody wants to evangelize that, they’re welcome to,” Gates said.

Except, that’s the lifestyle that climate cult Elites like Gates want to force on all you peasants. We’ve seen them all advocate for this stuff, but, they won’t give up anything themselves. Nothing. Nada. Zip. A goodly chunk of the government legislation will force you folks to live an “impoverished lifestyle”, and it will be vastly different from Gates, who’ll still live in his waterfront mansion, still flying in his private jet, still eat meat. He can afford to buy a fancy, expensive EV. He won’t have to sit around waiting for his EV to charge at a station like all you folks living in apartments. He can just pay for carbon offsets for his Bad Behavior, while your life is diminished.

If you aren’t getting that this is a scam perpetuated by the Elites to put you under control, you’re missing it. Even if Mankind was mostly/solely responsible for the slight temperature increase since 1850, why are most policies aimed at empowering government over your life and money? And Freedom?

Trump’s CDC director says Fauci shut down debate on Covid’s origin

Trump administration CDC Director Robert Redfield told a congressional committee Wednesday that his former colleague, Anthony Fauci, and former National Institutes of Health Director Francis Collins froze him out of discussions on Covid-19’s origins.

The accusation came during a politically charged hearing Wednesday of the House Oversight and Accountability Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic and stoked Republican claims that Fauci in early 2020 promoted the view that an infected animal spread the virus to humans to divert attention from research the U.S. sponsored at China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology.

“It was told to me that they wanted a single narrative and then I obviously had a different point of view,” Redfield told representatives.

Redfield said Fauci, who led the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the time, and Collins left him out because Redfield suspected the coronavirus had leaked from the Chinese lab.

This made Fauci upset

Fauci, who was not at the hearing, dismissed Redfield’s accusation as “completely untrue.”

“No one excluded anyone,” he told POLITICO after the hearing.

“And the idea of saying that he was not wanted there because he had a different opinion … there were several people on the call who had the opinion that it might have been an engineered virus,” said Fauci, who retired from his government post at the end of last year.

Well, if that’s the case (Fauci also went on with Neil Cavuto), Fauci would have no problem testifying under oath to Congress about it, right? James Comer (R-Ky), chairman of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, should invite Fauci to come testify. And, if he doesn’t want to, subpoena him.

Of course, Democrats were doing their best to protect Fauci, who really did more damage to trusting health institutes that he helped, and were wondering why it even matters where it came from. They just want to move on so people forget about their COVID authoritarianism.

Energy Saving Windows Can Totally Fight Climate Doom Or Something

It just goes to show that no matter the topic the Credentialed Media will drag the climate cult into the picture. Seriously, these windows are a good idea. I’d be interested. Why does this have to be a part of staving off climate doom?

Energy-saving smart windows could help combat climate change

Inside a factory near Memphis, Tennessee, workers are making an unlikely weapon in the fight against climate change: a smart window.

“Well, like everything in life, right, we look back after you’ve experienced the modern thing, and you go, ‘well that was pretty dumb,'” said Rao Mulpuri, the CEO of California-based View.

Mulpuri describes View’s windows as transition glass for buildings. They track the sun throughout the day, automatically tinting to regulate light and heat. That allows buildings to use less electricity for heating and cooling.

“Buildings consume about 40% of all energy,” Mulpuri said. “They consume about 70% of all electricity. And if you wanna solve for carbon and climate change, you have to solve for buildings.”

We pretty much know that tinting windows reduces heat in buildings (and vehicles), while, when it’s cold, you want less tinting. This certainly could help with reducing power bills, right?

Operating buildings account for about 27% of annual planet-warming carbon emissions, according to the International Energy Agency.

Smart windows have a microscopic coating connected to computer chips and can be controlled by an app. They are now installed in hotels, hospitals, office buildings, apartments, and a dozen U.S. airports, including a new San Francisco International Airport terminal.

“You don’t feel the heat beating on you, especially when you want to provide an environment that has a lot of natural light,” SFO airport director Ivar Satero said.

At Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, tests have found View’s smart window’s kept nearby seats 20 degrees cooler than conventional glass, according to tests conducted by the company.

So, a good idea. Why the need to drag the climate cult in?
