More Illegals Dying While Crossing Into U.S. Illegally

There’s an easy way to solve this: can anyone figure out the number one solution?

In the last 12 months through September, U.S. Customs and Border Protection logged 60 migrant deaths due to heat in the El Paso sector, triple the same period a year ago.

The sector spans the Chihuahuan Desert through New Mexico and parts of Texas along 268 miles of the border. It has been the busiest area for migrant crossings into the U.S. southwest at a time when overall border apprehensions are on track to match or surpass record levels. Migrant advocates and academics have said for years that policies like increased fencing and checkpoints, intended to deter those aiming to cross illegally into the U.S., push migrants to take increasingly perilous routes to evade detection.

That includes ever-longer treks through remote stretches of desert where they are prone to exhaustion and dehydration. (snip)

Migrants can also be abandoned by human traffickers without water, or jammed into sweltering truck trailers. The 2022 death toll at the U.S.-Mexico border prompted the U.N. migration agency to deem the area the world’s deadliest land migration route. (snip)

Including other causes such as car accidents and drowning, the total number of migrant deaths doubled from the prior year to reach a record of 148 fatalities.

It’s very simple: do not come to the United States illegally, do not cross the border illegally and wander around in what is a desert that gets pretty darned hot, with little to no food or water. Stay home. Do not come here. Do not trek hundreds to thousands of miles. If you want to claim asylum apply elsewhere. These people are putting themselves in danger, with an assist from Democrats, who entice people to make the trek and cross illegally.

More than 11,000 migrants are staying in Chicago shelters, census figures show

Census figures show there are now more than 11,000 migrants staying in Chicago shelters.

Just over 3,700 are waiting for placement with just over 3,200 at Chicago Police Department Districts. Nearly 500 are at O’Hare and Midway airports.

More than three buses of migrants were expected to arrive Sunday night.

Are they having fun yet? Are the citizens of Chicago having fun putting their sanctuary city beliefs to good use? Seeing their tax dollars flow to illegals? This is just a pittance of what those in border cities have to deal with

(Chicago Tribune) Frangeny Mendoza, 27, huddled on a thin fleece Salvation Army blanket next to her husband, Pedro Matos, 30, and 8-year-old son, Ediomar, Tuesday night in Edna White Century Garden, which over the past month has become a tent encampment for hundreds of migrants waiting for shelter placement at the nearby Morgan Park police station.

The family from Venezuela, who were put on a bus by city officials in El Paso, Texas, and sent to Chicago without knowing where they were going, spent their first three nights in the sanctuary city sleeping outside on the ground.

“It’s so cold here, but we have nowhere to go. We don’t have anyone here,” she said in Spanish.

Welcome to America! This was your choice, so, suck it up, enjoy the diverse weather! Hope it doesn’t snow early.

[Mayor Brandon Johnson’s deputy chief of staff, Cristina] Pacione-Zayas said Thursday that Chicago is a sanctuary city with welcoming values, but she said there is only so much the city can do. The mayor’s 2024 budget unveiled Wednesday included only $150 million in migrant funding — less than half the projected costs this year.

“It wouldn’t be right if we did not let folks know the limitations that we have,” she said. “We’ve inherited no infrastructure for this.”

Too bad. You’re a sanctuary city, make it work. Or, perhaps you, the mayor, and the city council will finally realize that unfettered illegal immigration is a Bad Idea and that Biden’s open border policies are a complete failure, and a threat to citizens, when you visit the border this week.

Sob: AOC Upset She Can’t Replace Her Tesla With A Union Made EV

She could have purchased a Chevy Bolt, but, that would apparently have been Inconvenient

AOC’s admission over her Tesla purchase sparks debate online: ‘Do as I say, not as I do’

Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a strong supporter of both the environment and American unions, Electrek reported. That’s why she wants to trade in her Tesla Model 3 for a union-made EV. Just one problem: she can’t find one.

The issue came up in a recent interview on “Face The Nation,” Electrek revealed. In the clip, AOC speaks about her need for a vehicle with the range to safely travel between Washington, D.C., and Queens, New York, a distance of 240 miles. At the time that she bought her car in 2020, a Tesla was her best option.

Tesla’s five million EVs aren’t union-made. In fact, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has been outspoken against unions, even interfering with unionization efforts, Electrek explained.

However, at the time she bought her car, most other EVs weren’t, either, Electrek said. The only exception that was manufactured in the U.S. was the Chevy Bolt. The Bolt is an outstanding vehicle, Electrek said — but with a maximum range of 247 miles and slow charging speeds, it wouldn’t have been ideal for AOC’s situation.

Not ideal? You mean like how most EVs are “not ideal” for most Americans, but, they’re going to be jammed down our throats? Huh. If she really cared, she could stop and charge it up, maybe get something to eat, since it is around 228 miles from NYC to DC.

But, does anyone really believe AOC is constantly driving between DC and NYC? Who thinks she flies more?

Today, as she says she’s “looking into trading in our car now,” the selection is only slightly better. While many foreign manufacturers use union labor, in the U.S., aside from the Model 3 and the Bolt, AOC would be limited to the Ford F-150 Lightning, the Hummer EV, the Cadillac Lyriq, or the E-Transit — none of which are a good fit for her range needs. The upcoming Chevy Blazer and Equinox could be what AOC is looking for, however, as both reportedly have build options that reach about 300 miles per charge.

And, expensive. Gotta be tough on a Congress Critter’s salary, right? She’s basically saying you should be paying more and getting less.

Also, why can’t she take Amtrak? Sure, it would take longer, but, it is unionized. Probably doesn’t want to rub shoulders with the peasants.

Hamas Supporters Call For Israel’s Destruction At Raleigh Protest

You know what that means, right? That is the call for the eradication of Israel. WRAL failed to mention this. ABC11 failed, as well. CBS17 did not have an article about it at the time of writing. The Raleigh News and Observer did mention this, but, forgot something

Fury and frustration about the Israel-Gaza war were displayed in downtown Raleigh Sunday as around 400 pro-Palestinian supporters gathered on the Moore Square lawn to denounce Israel’s bombing and siege of Gaza.

Between chants of “Free, free Palestine” and “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” speakers called for an end to the bombings, which began after Hamas militants attacked Israel on Oct. 7. (snip)

Protesters hoisted Palestinian flags and signs — some of which more broadly called for a free Palestine and several with more pointed messages that equated Israel’s actions in Gaza to the crimes committed against Jews during World War II.

Yeah, they forgot to mention what that actually means

“From the River to the Sea, Palestine Will Be Free” is a common call-to-arms for pro-Palestinian activists. It calls for the establishment of a State of Palestine from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea, erasing the State of Israel and its people. It is also a rallying cry for terrorist groups and their sympathizers, from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) to Hamas, which called for Israel’s destruction in its original governing charter in 1988 and was responsible for the October 7, 2023 terror attack on Israeli civilians, murdering over 1,000 people in the single deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust.

It was coined by the State Department designated terror organization Palestinian Liberation Organization in 1964. Vienna banned a Palestinian demonstration the other day over the use of the phrase on flyers and such, because they know what it means. The slogan has been chanted during many of the protests by people supporting a terrorist group who murdered women and children over the last week, and many were quite clear what they meant.

And lots of people wearing Intifada keffiyehs, a sign of violence against Jews.

(CBS News) Threats in the U.S. have been rising, since Hamas invaded Israel a week ago, FBI Director Christopher Wray and FBI officials said Sunday in a rare phone briefing for reporters.

“The threat is very much ongoing and in fact, the threat picture continues to evolve,” Wray said. “Here in the U.S., we cannot and do not discount the possibility that Hamas or other foreign terrorist organizations could exploit the conflict to call on their supporters to conduct attacks on our own soil.”

Good thing our border is locked down and we didn’t invite lots and lots of Islamists from extremist nations to live in the U.S., right?

Wacko Democrats Want To Import 1 Million Hamas Supporters, Er, Palestinian Refugees

I have a great idea: let’s send them to the home cities of the Progressives and the District Of Columbia

Progressives call for US to take in some of the expected 1 million Gaza refugees

Experts predict a million refugees might flee the Gaza Strip amid the war between Israel and Hamas, and socialists and far-left lawmakers said America should welcome them.

“Fifty percent of the population in Gaza are children. The international community as well as the United States should be prepared to welcome refugees from Palestine while being very careful to vet and not allow members of Hamas,” said Rep. Jamaal Bowman, a New York member of the Socialist-Democratic “Squad” who remains under investigation for pulling a fire alarm in the House Cannon Office Building earlier this month.

But Republicans have already slammed the door shut on the issue.

Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) and Rick Scott (R-Fla.) said they would oppose Palestinian resettlement efforts here.

“The U.S. is the most generous nation in the world, but we are in no position to accept additional refugees, especially from a region with as high a risk of terrorism, given our nation’s inability to secure our own border or vet those who are already here,” Rubio told The Post.

We can start by sending them to the districts of The Squad in NYC, Minneapolis (where they’ll fit right in with the other Muslim extremists from Somalia), Boston, Detroit (sorry, we know you’re trying really hard to stop being dangerous), St. Louis, and Pittsburgh. I seriously doubt Greg Abbott and the Texas general assembly will allow any in Greg Cesar’s district. We can send some to Portland, Seattle, San Francisco, LA, Chicago. Oh, and how about near many of the premiere colleges, such as Harvard, where the idiot students are supporting them and calling for killing Jews and destroying Israel?

They are not our problem, and we already have enough Muslims who are radicalized to a degree, because that’s what’s taught to them. Most may be nice people, but, go talk to them as if you do not like Israel, see what happens. How many of those Palestinian refugees are ones who support Hamas? Who cheered and danced when Hamas was slaughtering and raping young kids last week? Beheading babies?

If you listen they will tell you who they are. So often during the years after, and, heck, before 9/11, people who should know better didn’t listen. They would say “oh, no, this isn’t about religion. Most are not like this.” But, they’re like kids growing up in gang areas: they can be hangers on or helpers, and some can quickly flip to full on gang-bangers.

Your Fault: Global Boiling Causing Armadillos To Spread In NC

I fail to see the problem

How climate change and population growth are helping armadillos move into more areas of NC

They are here, they are expanding, and they’re not going anywhere.

But is the arrival of the nine-banded armadillo in North Carolina, now going on nearly 15 years since they were first reported, necessarily a bad thing?

While researchers are still gathering information, armadillos don’t appear to be causing the widespread ecological problem that other non-native and invasive species can cause when they show up in a new environment, said Colleen Offenbuttel, a biologist with the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission.

“So far, the main concern about armadillos in North Carolina is property damage,” she said, noting that the burrowing animals can leave plenty of holes on lawns and in gardens as they hunt for insects.

They are mostly out in Western NC, with scattered reports elsewhere. Though, a lot of reports (11-30) here in Wake County. I haven’t seen one yet. Bummer. Of course, since some carry leprosy, I’ll keep my distance

But conjure up a picture of an armadillo, and most people probably think of an arid desert-like setting in Texas or even Mexico, not the lush, green forests and fields of the American South.

So why are they here? In short, because North Carolina is turning into perfect armadillo habitat.

“First, it just reflects their growing population in other states,” Olfenbuttel said of the armadillos’ natural dispersal as males seek new territory and females then follow. Populations of armadillos are already well-established in South Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee.

Then there’s North Carolina’s increasing population, mostly centered in growing metros, that’s creating perfect armadillo buffets of yards, golf courses and gardens teeming with bugs ? especially fire ants, a delicacy for armadillos ? and other invertebrates that the animals love to eat.

Life is always moving and changing on Earth

But an even bigger reason for the armadillos successful migration into the Tar Heel State likely has to do with our changing weather thanks to climate change.

According to a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency seasonality report published in late 2021, all seasons have warmed in the U.S., with winter temperatures increasing by nearly 3 degrees Fahrenheit since 1896.

See, this would have been an interesting story about armadillos spreading, but, of course the Cult had to drop this stuff into the mix.

Residents In Sanctuary City Chicago Concerned Over Migrant Shelter Housing Lots Of Single Illegals

What’s to be concerned over? Illegal alien supporters tell us that illegals are simply folks escaping Problems just looking for a better life. They should be embracing all those young, single, fighting age men

Chicago migrant shelter in West Town to house up to 200 single men, concerning community

West Town residents expressed concerns about a shelter meant to house up to 200 single migrant men.

Speakers at a meeting about the plan Thursday night said they are primarily concerned about possible safety issues that may come with the temporary shelter. City officials said they are prepared to handle those concerns.

The new arrivals temporary shelter is set to open in the 36th Ward near Smith Park.

“Smith Park is primarily a neighborhood of single family homes and two flats,” said one resident speaking at the meeting.

Neighbors living within blocks of the shelter near Western and Ohio were told by city officials that it will house up to 200 single men, which became a point of contention.

“We have babies that go to that park every day and we rely on that park and how are we going to keep that park safe,” said one resident.

These sanctuary city residents need to be shamed and Cancelled for their anti-Progressive views, have their Comrade cards revoked. Illegals aren’t dangerous! What a horrible notion! In fairness, they’re probably less dangerous than a lot of people in SCC. But, still, how happy would you be if 200 illegals, who most likely do not speak English, low education, and expect the Government to care for them were stuck in your neighborhood? You might be an illegal alien supporter, but, only if they are Somewhere Else.

And they’re getting more

Chicago provides $9,000 in rental assistance to migrants seeking temporary housing

This week, 41 buses have arrived in Chicago, bringing the total number of migrants in shelters to 11,000, with 4,000 still sleeping on police station floors and staying at airports.

Notably, 30% of migrants in Chicago are children, with the majority of them attending Chicago Public Schools.

Currently, the state is funding temporary housing, including rented apartments and homes for migrants. The state is providing up to $9,000 in rental assistance over a 6-month period, which includes assistance with moving in and a starter kit to furnish the apartment.

What could SCC do with $9K a month for the actual citizens? How far would that go for, say, providing food for poor kids, shelter for the homeless, and police to make the city safer? Well, SCC residents are getting a huge taste of practicing what they preach. And you can bet Greg Abbott is sending more buses to Chicago, along with Denver, New York, LA, and others.
