Jindal, Louisiana State Party Call On Kissing Congressman To Resign

This kinda stuff annoys me

(Times Picayune) Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal on Thursday (April 10) called on U.S. Rep. Vance McAllister, R-Swartz, to resign. The statement came only hours after the state GOP issued a similar request.

“Congressman McAllister’s behavior is an embarrassment and he should resign. He says he wants privacy to work on his issues with his family. The best way to get privacy and work on putting his family back together is to resign from Congress.”

Hours earlier, Louisiana Republican Party Chairman Roger Villere also suggested McAllister resign, calling his actions “extreme hypocrisy” that “has embarrassed our party, our state and the institution of Congress.” Louisiana’s newest congressman, McAllister was elected to represent the 5th District last November.

Why does this annoy me? I’m sure many Republicans and Conservatives, especially social conservatives, will disagree, but this is much ado about nothing. This was a personal failing, and embarrasses McAllister and the woman and their families. It only affects the GOP if they let it, and by calling for McAllister to resign they’ve joined into a personal issue, that, guess what, is not against the law. Just a bad personal decision.

Republicans are too quick on the draw to eat our own over small issues. Yes, we say we have better morals overall than Democrats, and we actually do. But, the flesh is weak, and people make mistakes. And, really, to expect most politicians to be super awesome moral people is to ignore the history of politics. Also, is it not Christian, and Conservative, to forgive? Especially since, in this case, this did not affect our own lives? What effect did the kiss have on the lives of most Republicans, including those in his district? Zip. Nada. Nill.

Do you see Democrats eating their own over tiny things? Heck, they almost never eat their own over big things. How many tax cheats work or worked for Obama? How many are in Congress? Dems vastly beat out Republicans on the tax cheat list. You have those taking bribes. How many in the Obama admin are lawless, including Obama? It’s no wonder 70% of felons register as Democrats.

This doesn’t even cover Democrat politicians denigrating, insulting, going after, etc, private citizens in a manner than may not violate the letter of all parts of the 1st Amendment, but certainly the spirit. And they love to violate many other Amendments, like the 2nd and the 4th.

People have personal failings. If something like this happens again, then McAllister should step aside. Or, the people of his District can vote him out. He broke no laws.

White House Continues To Be Squishy On Keystone XL Deadline

This is the most simple of things: approve or disapprove the Keystone XL pipeline. Obama put off any decision for the politics of the 2012 elections. Report after report, including the most recent one, give a thumbs up to the pipeline. So why not just make a decision?

(The Hill) White House press secretary Jay Carney attempted to sideline any noise that President Obama would establish a hard deadline for his decision on the Keystone XL pipeline Thursday.

“Our position on that process hasn’t changed, which is that it needs to run its appropriate course without interference from the White House or Congress,” Carney said to reporters. “It was because of actions taken by Republicans in Congress that one delay was caused in the process already.”

“So that review continues at the State Department, where it’s housed in accordance with past practice of previous administrations of both parties. And when there’s a decision to be announced, it will be announced,” Carney said.

What they are attempting to do is two-fold. First, they are trying to hold off and play it in the middle, neither ticking off nor pleasing either side, being the unhinged Warmist nutballs protesting Keystone XL (many by taking fossil fueled travel to the protests) and the smart people who know the pipeline is good for the economy. Oh, and just one of many, because other pipelines are being built.

Second, Warmist Barack Obama, along with hyper-Warmist John Kerry, both of who take lots and lots of fossil fueled trips, are desperately looking for a reason to disapprove the pipeline along globull warming lines, despite every report and study saying “nope!”

Oh, and then there’s the whole thing about Obama being a terrible leader and unable to make good decisions. And it would be work that interferes with campaigning and all the fun parts of the job.

Eleven Democrats, many of them who are under threat to lose their seats during the mid-terms, sent a letter to Obama telling him to set a hard deadline. Good luck with that. The politics, er, process, has to run its course. Because 5 years isn’t long enough to make a decision despite every study being in favor of the pipeline.

Surprise! EPA Chief Gina McCarthy Is A Climahypocrite

Anyone surprised? Much like Al Gore, Barack Obama, James Hansen, and the recently mentioned IPCC climate chief Christiana Figueres, McCarthy is a typical hypocrite

(Daily Caller) Environmental Protection Agency chief Gina McCarthy may be a global warming crusader, but her weekly flights home to Boston are causing her to emit tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

The EPA recently released a photo album titled “A Day In The Life of the EPA Administrator” that shows what McCarthy does on a typical day, including the fact that she flies home nearly every weekend to spend time with her family.

“Although she keeps a small apartment near EPA headquarters, almost every weekend McCarthy travels back to Boston, to her home and her husband,” according to the EPA.

But flying on an airplane twice nearly every weekend means she is significantly adding to her carbon footprint by using transportation that emits carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, which the EPA says causes global warming.

The Daily Caller News Foundation calculated that McCarthy’s footprint from simply flying is nearly as much as the average total carbon footprint of one person over the course of an entire year. According to the EPA, “20,750 pounds [10.375 tons] is about average in the United States for a household of one person over a year.”

Numbers from 2006 show the average carbon footprint for a US citizen is 19.78 metric tons. The Daily Caller estimates McCarthy’s footprint for just the flights to and from Boston to be between 7.5 and 9.4 tons yearly. The EPA responded to the Daily Caller stating that sometimes she drives home! Note the photo at the “according to the EPA” link. The first photo is of her getting out a large size fossil fuels chugging SUV. Then getting back in for a trip around town to a meeting (pictures 9 and 10), which features the caption “Given the focus on climate change, and the key role EPA plays on the issue, McCarthy spends considerable time coordinating with the president’s senior advisors.” Do as they say, not as they do. Picture 12 shows her at the airport.

Tolerant Liberals At UNC Cry “Rape Culture!” Over Song

Literally dozens of people were upset

(Daily Caller) A hysterical and overwrought reaction by a North Carolina student to the song “Blurred Lines” has caused a permanent ban on both the song and the DJ who played it at a campus bar.

The kerfuffle occurred on Saturday night at Fitzgerald’s Irish Pub, about two blocks off the campus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

The disturbingly hypersensitive student is UNC senior Liz Hawryluk, reports The Daily Tar Heel, the school newspaper.

Hawryluk took it upon herself to step right into the DJ box when the DJ played “Blurred Lines,” a 2013 song by Robin Thicke. She asked him to stop playing the song because, she and other critics say, it encourages “rape culture” with lyrics like “I know you want it” and, presumably, “Just let me liberate you.”

“Fundamentally, all I was aiming to do is to create a safe space in the Carolina community,” Hawryluk told The Daily Tar Heel. “In a lot of ways, violent or graphic images that allude to sexual violence are triggers.”

These are the same types of fools who put Miley Cyrus up on a pedestal for rubbing her butt into Robin Thicke’s crotch as he sang….Blurred Lines. The same fools who push an “if it feels good, do it” culture. Who extol risky, casual sex. Who promote young women acting in port videos. From the Daily Tar Heel link

Hawryluk took her fight to Facebook. Dozens of students and community advocates flooded Fitzgerald’s Facebook page, condemning the pub for allowing the incident to occur.

Say, when will these same radical feminists go after all the rap and hip hop artists who push the degradation and sexual mistreatment of women?

This week, Fitzgerald’s issued a formal apology to Hawryluk and her friends.

“This song is played by many DJs at Fitzgerald’s, and other places, but it will never be played here again,” Shoaf said in her apology to Hawryluk.

Of course they did this. And they won’t let the DJ “play” there again.

Member Of House Of Lords Asks If Baked Beans Are Bad For “Climate Change”

Welcome to Warmist Town, the wackiest town around (via Dana)

(Western Morning News) A hereditary peer has questioned whether flatulence caused by the country’s high consumption of baked beans is adding to global warming.

Viscount Simon, 73, a Labour peer who has been a member of the House of Lords for more than 20 years, raised concerns about the “smelly emissions”.

His comments came as energy minister Baroness Verma answered questions in the Upper House on how the Government was tackling climate change.

Lord Simon said: “In a programme some months ago on the BBC it was stated that this country has the largest production of baked beans and the largest consumption of baked beans in the world.”

To laughter from peers, he asked Lady Verma: “Could you say whether this affects the calculation of global warming by the Government as a result of the smelly emission resulting there from?”

Instead of asking Lord Simon if he was stoned or losing his marbles, she said his question was different, and

But she added: “You do actually raise a very important point, which is we do need to moderate our behaviour.”

And by “we”, she means “you”, and by “moderate”, she means “by force of Government”.

This is Warmist World, where they link everything to their pet cult, no matter how wacky, no matter how stupid sounding, no matter how insane. All for more Government Control.

Pew Poll Highlights How Important Obamacare Is For Midterms

And the news continues to be bad for Democrats

(USA Today) The Affordable Care Act looms as a powerful issue in this year’s congressional elections, a USA TODAY/Pew Research Center Poll finds, and one that is reverberating in ways likely to boost the GOP.

In the survey, taken after President Obama announced a surprising 7.1 million Americans had signed up for health care through the law’s exchanges, more than eight in 10 registered voters say a candidate’s stance on the law will be an important factor in determining their vote. A 54% majority call it very important.

By 2-1, those who rate the issue as very important disapprove of the law.

That means it is more likely to motivate opponents than supporters to vote — a critical element in midterm elections when turnout often is low.

The law is still negative, with 50% disapproving and 37% approving. Obviously, most Republicans disapprove and most Dems approve. The danger is that 54% of Independents disapprove, with only 34% approving.

So far, most Americans, 57%, say the law hasn’t had much of an impact on them or their families. In coming years, they predict by 35%-29% that it will have a mostly negative effect on them. In a survey that has mostly bad news for proponents, that 6-percentage-point gap may provide a glimmer of good news: It has narrowed from 12 points in December.

They’ve spent billions and billions of dollars on this boondoggle, damaged the economy, caused people to be shifted to part time work hours, and limited hiring, among others, all for a net gain in private insurance of about 1.4 million (after 6 million or so lost their plans). And let’s not forget the potential cancellations come fall 2014. Think about all the advertising for this, the free positive press, all the tweets and silly campaigns for ACA supports. Think about all that, and most think that the ACA will have either no effect or a negative effect. Even 58% of Democrats say that it has pretty much had little effect on their lives.

Asked about the effect on the country as a whole so far, 43% say it has been mostly negative, 30% mostly positive. That’s a bigger shift, to a 13-point gap from a 26-point gap in December. That may reflect some reassessments as the heart of the law goes into effect.

47% of Independents lean negative. Just 26% say mostly positive. Those are numbers that do not bode well for Dems for the midterms.

Just 17% overall state that Ocare has had a mostly positive effect on the country. Democrats are destroying the health care system for 17% positive.Think about that.

Could A Potential El Nino Be A Big One?

The bigger question is “how will Warmists use a natural phenomenon to their unhinged advantage?” Also, “who will be the first Warmist to blame the El Nino on “climate change”?”

(ABC News) El Niño is a growing threat this year that could play havoc with weather patterns in the United States, forecasters say.

El Niño, named for the warm waters that occasionally occur in the Pacific Ocean near South America, brings fluctuating weather that includes droughts, flooding and heat waves.

“We have above-normal temperatures in the tropical Pacific Ocean and that often precedes an El Niño because there’s a large volume of above-average water temperature below the surface of the ocean,” Anthony Barnston, chief forecaster for the International Research Institute for Climate and Society, told ABC News. “Volume often tends to come up to the surface; often, but not always.

“That’s the uncertainty,” Barnston said. “It’s more likely to rise than not.” (snip)

Barnston notes a 70 percent probability of the United States’ experiencing an El Niño this year. He said the official outlook will be coming Thursday from the two agencies – his research institute and the Climate Prediction Center – and will most likely give a slightly lower probability of an El Niño event.

If an El Niño persists, Barnston said, it will develop between April and June and last until the start of the next calendar year for a nine-to-10 month cycle.

It is not expected to be a big one, about half the power of the massive 1997 El Nino. You know that the warmth and rain and other weather changes will be blamed on Mankind.

Sharknado 2 Goes All Climate Changey

How perfect: a beyond suspension of belief fake movie about a fake issue

(LA Times) The director and some cast members of “Sharknado 2: The Second One” appeared on stage in a Pasadena hotel on Tuesday to preview the upcoming airborne shark sequel and touched on a very serious topic: climate change.

Whoever could have predicted that Ian Ziering taking on flying sharks with a chain saw would give Al Gore a run for his cinematic money?

Costar Judah Friedlander, the guy who always wore trucker caps on “30 Rock,” plays a childhood friend of Ziering’s character and proclaimed the film about a weather phenomenon involving flying sharks “the most important ever made about climate change.”

To be clear, he was talking about “Sharknado 2,” not “An Inconvenient Truth.”

Sharknado had a brief mention of “climate change”, this one looks to make it a big deal. It’ll premier on July 31st at 9pm. It’ll be interesting to see how they blame the snow (it was cold and snowy during filming) on “climate change”…or, it would if I had plans to watch it. The first one, like most SciFy originals, was a really, really bad movie.
