Latest “Climate Change” Scary Story: We Might Run Out Of Food!

We’re doomed, I tell you, doomed!!!!!!1!!!!

WE MIGHT RUN OUT OF FOOD DUE TO CLIMATE CHANGE

We believe our planet is a place of infinite resources that is going to sustain and feed us forever. We often take it for granted that the production of food is never going to be seriously affected by any external factor.

However, experts have been warning us for a long time that climate change is a serious matter and we need to put an end to harmful activity in order to keep those resources intact. Studies have shown that many species of insects and animals have already been affected by extreme weather.

With the population on Earth increasing exponentially it is very unlikely that the planet is going to be able to sustain us for a long time. It is estimated that there will be nine billion people inhabiting the planet in 2050, which is almost two billion more than the number recorded now. This number will probably be doubled by the end of this century.

So, because of “extreme weather” (which, in Reality Land, is actually not happening more than before) caused by “climate change”, and all those pesky Others being born, we’ll apparently all starve to death. Interestingly, people did pretty darned well during the previous Holocene warm periods, which were warmer than the current warm period. The big famines occurred during the cool periods.

Food Shortages Expected by 2040 Due to Climate Change

While we are really only now starting to understand the drastic effect of climate change, a new study warns that there is even more to worry about as it seems our food supply might run out (or might reach prices too high for most of us to afford) by 2040.

“It is likely that the effects of climate change will be felt most strongly through the increasing frequency of extreme weather events such as droughts, heat waves and floods and their impact on the production and distribution of food – something we almost take for granted,” explains Tim Benton, the acting ambassador and spokesperson for the UK Champion for Global Food Security, who focuses mostly on food and food security.

He goes on to say, “This study presents a plausible scenario for how the food system might be impacted by extreme weather, alongside a series of recommendations that should help policy and business plan for the future. Action is urgently needed to understand risks better, improve the resilience of the global food system to weather-related shocks and to mitigate their impact on people.”

Interestingly, the policy proposals look to more governmental control of food systems, and changing the world economies. Imagine that.

Can the earth feed 11 billion people?

Humanity is on course for a population greater than 11 billion by the end of this century, according to the latest analysis from the UN’s population division.

In a simple sense, population is the root cause of all sustainability issues. Clearly if there were no humans there would be no human impacts. Assuming you don’t wish to see the complete end of the human race – a desire that is shared by some deep green thinkers and Bond super-villians– then the issue is whether there is an optimal number of humans on the planet.

And here we get more of the notion of population reduction.

This all reads as some type of science fiction, as predicted in fiction books since the 1930’s. Those ramblings have failed to come to fruition, the same way the scary fables of future doom from the Cult of Climastrology will fail.

Surprise: $15 Minimum Wage Could Speed Arrival Of Robot Powered Fast Food Joints

The vastly Right Wing, worker hating Washington Post provides a glimpse of the future

Minimum-wage offensive could speed arrival of robot-powered restaurants

Crowded. That’s how Ed Rensi remembers what life was like working at McDonald’s back in 1966. There were about double the number of people working in the store — 70 or 80, as opposed to the 30 or 40 there today — because preparing the food just took a lot more doing.

“When I first started at McDonald’s making 85 cents an hour, everything we made was by hand,” Rensi said — from cutting the shortcakes to stirring syrups into the milk for shakes. Over the years, though, ingredients started to arrive packaged and pre-mixed, ready to be heated up, bagged and handed out the window.

“More and more of the labor was pushed back up the chain,” said Rensi, who went on to become chief executive of the company in the 1990s. The company kept employing more grill cooks and cashiers as it expanded, but each one of them accounted for more of each store’s revenue as more sophisticated cooking techniques allowed each to become more productive.

The industry could be ready for another jolt as a ballot initiative to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour nears in the District and as other campaigns to boost wages gain traction around the country. About 30 percent of the restaurant industry’s costs come from salaries, so burger-flipping robots — or at least super-fast ovens that expedite the process — become that much more cost-competitive if the current federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour is doubled.

As the article points out, there are several factors which have been driving “robot restaurant” already. Too go with the ones mentioned in the excerpt, you have increasing costs of land, food costs, and plain old innovation. Much of that goes right into increased costs paid by the consumers. However, when you add a doubling of the wage required to be paid for low skill jobs, labor costs explode, meaning a cut-back in hours and personnel, and replacing them with machines.

As the old saying goes “be careful what you wish for. You might get it.”

Bummer: “Climate Change” Has Reached The Point Of No Return, But Here’s What You Can Do(?)

Once again we are treated to an apocalyptic fable on Hotcoldwetdry. Here’s the actual headline from One Green Planet

Scientists Say Climate Change Has Reached the ‘Point of No Return’ – 5 Things You Can Do Today

If we’ve reached the point of no return, why bother doing anything?

Rolling Stone recently released a sobering article on the state of the planet in regards to climate change. It would appear that quite a few signs are supporting the conclusion that climate change is approaching, or, has even passed the “point of no return.”

OK, so, it seems that the headline might be a bit, shall we see, over-the-top. We’ll skip the standard and obligatory doomsaying, and go straight to what you can do!

1. Push For A Planet That Is Free From Fossil Fuels

Fossil fuel use is contributing massively to the imbalance of carbon dioxide in our atmosphere and oceans. In addition to finding your own ways to reduce reliance on fossil fuels at home (mass transit, more efficient personal vehicles, walking or biking, etc), you can also pressure major fossil fuel users like the United States and China to take a drastic stance in reducing their fossil fuel output. A carbon tax in these two countries alone could stand to have dramatic positive impacts, and may encourage other countries to take a similar stance.

I’m actually impressed that there was even a hint at pushing Warmists to stop using fossil fuels. Notice, though, that paragraph doesn’t quite match lead.

2. Plant A Tree!

And give your own use of fossil fuels!

3. Boost The Organic and Local Food In Your Life

Make sure you walk, don’t take a fossil fueled vehicle. Heck, you can’t even bike, because fossil fuels are used for lubrication. And no sneakers, because they have fossil fuels.

4. Trim Your Waste-Line

Garbage in landfills releases methane which is a greenhouse gas. With a little forethought and effort, you can eliminate some of those emissions. First, let less waste enter your life. Aim for less packaging where you can, and use reusable water bottles and shopping bags. Then address the waste you can’t avoid. Direct organic waste to a composting system, whether it is municipal or one you keep at home. Make sure anything and everything that can be recycled ends up in the recycling bin.

They take wise environmental issues, along with personal health, and stick them under the banner of their idiotic cult.

5. Most Importantly … Choose More Plant-Based Foods

Stop eating meat, Cultists! And stop using fossil fuels! And live like it’s 1399.

Think any Warmists will listen? Or just expect Other People to Do This?

Washington Post: Say, Could Black People Qualify As Refugees?

This is something that Raha Jorjani wonders in the opinion pages of the Washington Post. It should be noted that Jorjani is an “immigration lawyer”, who quite often represents those who came to this country illegally.

Could black people in the U.S. qualify as refugees?

Suppose a client walked into my office and told me that police officers in his country had choked a man to death over a petty crime. Suppose he said police fatally shot another man in the back as he ran away. That they arrested a woman during a traffic stop and placed her in jail, where she died three days later. That a 12-year-old boy in his country was shot and killed by the police as he played in the park.

Suppose he told me that all of those victims were from the same ethnic community — a community whose members fear being harmed, tortured or killed by police or prison guards. And that this is true in cities and towns across his nation. At that point, as an immigration lawyer, I’d tell him he had a strong claim for asylum protection under U.S. law.

What if, next, he told me he was from America? Black people in the United States face such racial violence that they could qualify as refugees.

That’s an interesting thought: Black people needing asylum from the deplorable conditions that mostly occur in Democratic Party run cities around the country. Why are Democrats treating Black people with such disregard and violence?

According to U.S. asylum law, that persecution must be on account of race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group or political opinion. In many cases, courts have said that violence by police officers, unjust imprisonment, rape, assault, beatings and confinement constitute persecution. Even nonphysical forms of harm, such as the deliberate imposition of severe economic disadvantage, psychological harm, or the deprivation of food, housing, employment or other essentials, help make the case. In one instance, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit ruled that an individual who had been arrested, held for three days and then falsely accused of a crime had been persecuted. In another case, it ruled that persecution included ethnic discrimination so severe that the petitioner was unable to find a job in his chosen field.

Interesting. Democratic Party policies, going all the way back to the end of the Civil War, have been about keeping Black in economic disadvantage and psychological harm. Since the Civil Rights era, Democrats have replaced Jim Crow, segregation, the use of the KKK, etc, with “government assistance”, whereby Blacks are kept in poverty and urban ghettos, with little in the way of economic activity, high drug and violence rates, poor housing conditions, and little chance to get ahead and escape.

African Americans make up just 13 percent of the U.S. population, but they accounted for 31 percent of people killed by police in 2012. According to a ProPublica analysis, black teenagers were 21 times more likely than white teens to be shot and killed by the police between 2010 and 2012. In the United States, there are 1.6 million black men in prison, on probation or on parole, double the number who were enslaved in 1850.

Let’s also consider that Blacks, sadly, are much more likely to engage in crime by population proportion, especially in Democratic Party run cities. We all know of the huge increase in murders and shootings in Democratic Party run Baltimore this year, of which the majority shot and killed are Black (the three homicide victims from Thursday where Black men between the ages of 17-19). What of the huge increase in robberies and other crimes in 65% Black Baltimore? What with the deplorable conditions in Democratic Party run urban areas, what else are they to do but turn to crime?

This country is dangerous for black people. Black parents live with an ever-present fear that their children will become victims of state violence and terror on the basis of race.

The Democratic Party run urban areas and policies are dangerous for Black people. Never forget that.

Had they remained alive, Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner, Malissa Williams, Timothy Russell, John Crawford, Rekia Boyd, Michael Brown, Akai Gurley, Walter Scott, Ezell Ford, Mya Hall, Dontre Hamilton, Tamir Rice, Tanisha Anderson, Miriam Carey, Yvette Smith, Samuel Dubose and so many others would be able to demonstrate that they had more than a well-founded fear of persecution at the hands of their government or individuals whom their government was unable or unwilling to control.

Interesting

  • Trayvon was killed by a private citizen.
  • Eric Garner was a habitual criminal offender who was resisting arrest (still no excuse for his death, though. None).
  • Malissa Williams was a drug addict, who had a long history of encounters with the police. Timothy Russell had a long criminal history of trespassing, domestic violence, petty theft, and robbery. They led police on a 22 minute chase in Democratic Party Cleveland before being shot to death.
  • There are serious questions about John Crawford’s death, in Democratic Party run Dayton, Ohio.
  • Rekia Boyd was killed by an off-duty officer (who should have been charged with murder) in Democratic Party run Chicago.
  • Michael Brown: stole cigars, was dumb enough to be walking in the middle of the street, assaulted a police officer in his car, tried to take his gun, ran away when it went off, then charged the officer, and was shot and killed. The DOJ found that the officer did nothing wrong.
  • Akai Gurley was hanging in one of the worst crime projects in Democratic Party run NYC. The shooting may have been accidental.
  • Ezell Ford was a long term criminal, with felony charges. There are conflicting accounts of his shooting in Democratic Party run Los Angeles.
  • Mya Hall was man pretending to be a woman, killed when he rammed his stolen SUV through an NSA security checkpoint. He had a long history of robbery and prostitution. This was a totally justifiable shooting.

You get the idea. Not all of the shootings were mentioned where justifiable, to be clear. But, most occurred in Democratic Party run areas. Blacks do need asylum from Democratic Party run cities and Democratic Party policies.

Pope Creates “World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation” Because Of “Climate Change”

This is like the Catholic Church getting in bed with a cult like Heaven’s Gate, Aum Shinrikyo, or Scientology.

(Vatican News Network) Pope Francis has decided to set up a “World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation” which will be celebrated on September 1st annually.

He made the announcement in a letter to the heads of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace and the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of Christian Unity.

Sharing with my beloved brother the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew his concerns for the future of creation (cfr Encylical Letter. Laudato Si, 7-9) and taking up the suggestion by his representative, the Metropolitan Ioannis of Pergamum who took part in the presentation of the Encyclical Laudato Si on the care of our common home, I wish to inform you that I have decided to set up also in the Catholic Church, the “World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation” which, beginning this year, will be celebrated on the 1st of September, as the Orthodox Church has done for some time now.

As Christians we wish to offer our contribution towards overcoming the ecological crisis which humanity is living through. Therefore, first of all we must draw from our rich spiritual heritage the reasons which feed our passion for the care of creation, always remembering that for believers in Jesus Christ, the Word of God who became man for us, “the life of the spirit is not dissociated from the body or from nature or from worldly realities, but lived in and with them, in communion with all that surrounds us.” (ibid., 216). The ecological crisis therefore calls us to a profound spiritual conversion: Christians are called to “an ecological conversion whereby the effects of their encounter with Jesus Christ become evident in their relationship with the world around them.” (ibid., 217). Thus, “living our vocation to be protectors of God’s handiwork is essential to a life of virtue; it is not an optional or a secondary aspect of our Christian experience.”(ibid).

Good news, Catholics, you’ve now joined the Cult Of Climastrology!

Hillary Finds Deleting Emails Funny, Resurrects Vast Right Wing Conspiracy

Here’s the person who wants to be president, who is the leading candidate for the Democratic Party. A shameless hack, who’s time in the Senate was marked as a big nothing, and saw her tenure as Secretary of State as a dismal failure. A woman who committed countless crimes, especially in terms of her homebrew email server.

(AP) Hillary Rodham Clinton offered a fierce defense of her handling of the 2012 Benghazi attacks and her use of a private email server as President Barack Obama’s secretary of state, dismissing the controversies as “partisan games” in a speech before influential Iowa Democrats on Friday.

“They’ll try to tell you it’s about Benghazi, but it’s not,” Clinton said, pointing to Republican-led congressional inquiries that she said had “debunked all the conspiracy theories.”

“It’s not about emails or servers either. It’s about politics,” she said.

If Hillary was a Republican, the AP would be spending itself into the red to investigate. And, yes, politics does play a part. How is it even remotely possible to trust Hillary? Yet, Democrats will give her that trust without question, much in the same way Trump supporters are ignoring his far left pedigree.

“I won’t get down in the mud with them. I won’t play politics with national security,” Clinton said at the annual Wing Ding, a Democratic fundraiser in northern Iowa that attracted three other presidential candidates.

No, she’ll just use an improper and unsecured email server, leaving our national security vulnerable. Not too mention all her other problems. When that 3am call comes, the Chinese and Russian hackers will have already seen it.

Turning to her email controversies, Clinton said she would “do my part to provide transparency to Americans — that’s why I’m insisting 55,000 pages of my emails be published as soon as possible” and turned over the server.

She’s about a year too late on that.

Clinton also offered a light take on the email probe when she talked about launching a Snapchat social media account. “I love it,” she said. “Those messages disappear all by themselves.”

Nothing’s funnier than violations of the Espionage Act

Not only did Ms. Clinton deliberately demonstrate disdain for the Federal Records Act and nullify the protections of the Freedom of Information Act, she violated the Espionage Act by having information relating to the national defense on her server at all. And her deliberate disregard for national security made the job of all hackers that much easier.

If she was a reporter, a low level government employee, heck, you or me, she’d already be under indictment. The FBI would have seized the server and thumb-drives. Heck, the use of that homebrew server would have stopped quickly, when the bosses and others realized that we were not using the proper email. If a company acted in this manner, they’d be looking at massive civil and criminal penalties.

Hillary? She just laughs and makes jokes.

Obama Has A Sad Over Heavy Crime Rates In Mostly Democratic Party Run Cities

He does, he really does, especially as he takes a super expensive vacation in Martha’s Vineyard, and the MSM squees over his Spotify list

(The Hill) President Obama on Saturday acknowledged work remains on improving relations between law enforcement and the minority communities they serve.

Obama said Americans must continue tackling class, race and poverty following multiple fatal encounters between police and minorities during 2015 so far.

“Over the past year, we’ve come to see, more clearly than ever, the frustration in many communities of color and the feeling that our laws can be applied unevenly,” he said during his weekly address.

Interestingly, race relations have nose dived during Obama’s time in office.

“But let’s be clear: the issues raised over the past year aren’t new, and they won’t be solved by policing alone,” the president added. “We simply can’t ask our police to contain and control issues that the rest of us aren’t willing to address – as a society.”

What’s even more interesting is how most of these problems seem to occur in cities run mostly/solely by elected officials who ran as Democrats. Baltimore, which has seen much strife? Democrats. There were three killed, and two injured in overnight Thursday shootings. Two were shot Friday, including a city firefighter. There have been over two hundred murders in Democrat Baltimore so far, on pace to be a record year. Obama’s little speech started thusly

Hi everybody. It’s now been a year since the tragic death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri. His death—along with the events in Cleveland, Staten Island, Baltimore, Cincinnati, and other communities—sparked protests and soul searching all across our country. Over the past year, we’ve come to see, more clearly than ever, the frustration in many communities of color and the feeling that our laws can be applied unevenly.

No mention of Michael Brown stealing, assaulting a police officer, attempting to take his gun, then charging the officer, leading to his own death. No mention of the riots, the looting, the arson, the violence. Is this what he considers “soul searching” in the Black community? Instead of cracking down, he coddles, almost giving permission, much like Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake did, when she yammered about “giving those who wished to destroy space”.

That starts with reforming a criminal justice system that too often is a pipeline from inadequate schools to overcrowded jails, wreaking havoc on communities and families all across the country. So we need Congress to reform our federal sentencing laws for non-violent drug offenders. We need to keep working to help more prisoners take steps to turn their lives around so they can contribute to their communities after they’ve served their time.

And what of those who are living in poverty in urban ghettos, with absent fathers, mothers who have had children by multiple men, full dependency on the government, squalid living conditions, and lets not forget the low job opportunities for Blacks. Roughly 25% of young Black men are jobless. This is while Obama attempts to legalize all the illegal aliens, making it even tougher for Blacks who want to escape these urban Democratic plantations through work.

More broadly, we need to truly invest in our children and our communities so that more young people see a better path for their lives. That means investing in early childhood education, job training, pathways to college. It means dealing honestly with issues of race, poverty, and class that leave too many communities feeling isolated and segregated from greater opportunity. It means expanding that opportunity to every American willing to work for it, no matter what zip code they were born into.

Again, who runs these cities? Democrats have been in charge of Detroit since the late 1960’s. The city was once referred to as The Paris Of The West. Since the 1970’s, it has been called the Mogadishu of the West. Chicago has terrible violence and murders. Newark, Camden, Birmingham, Baltimore, you name them, Democratic cities are bad for Blacks. Democrat policies are bad for Blacks. The party was the party of slavery, Jim Crow, and segregation, as well as the KKK. A goodly chunk were against the Civil Rights Act(s), and simply moved from outright racism to putting blacks into urban ghettos.
