Oh, Noes, July Was The Hottest July In 4.5 Billion Years!!!!!!

We’re doomed, doomed I tell you, all because you, dear reader, refused to allow Government to regulate your entire life

(USA Today) July was the hottest month worldwide since records began being kept in 1880, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) announced Thursday.

The temperature in July, when averaged for all locations around the planet, was 61.86 degrees, topping the previous hottest months of July 1998 and July 2010. (snip)

This meshes with data from NASA and the Japan Meteorological Administration released earlier this week. NASA said temperatures in July 2015 beat the previous record in July 2011 by .036 degrees.

I don’t know about you, but that .036F suddenly makes me sweat profusely. It makes it too hot to golf, and turns swimming pools into hot tubs!

Poor Eric. He’s roundly abused, as pointed out at Twitchy.

None of this proves mostly/solely anthropogenic causation, just something that happens during a Holocene warm period, as records show.

Anyhow, regarding that doomy warmth

(Jo Nova) NOAA has a press release out being picked up around the world. For example, the DailyMail, UK, is saying July was the hottest month since records began in 1880 as heatwaves swept the Earth’s countries and oceans. Other silly tabloids have headlines about this being the hottest July in 4,000 years, as if we have even the remotest idea what the average July global temperature was in the days of Plato.

Better data shows July this year is the hottest since way back in… 2014. It’s not 4,000 years, not 135 years, it’s the hottest July since the last one.

We only have 30 years of good climate data: the satellites tell us the pause is real, and last month’s summer temperatures is not a record anything. According to the UAH and RSS global satellites, lower troposphere averages for July 2014 were 0.30C and 0.34C, compared to July 2015 of 0.28C. Even, June 2015 was hotter (UAH, 0.35C; RSS, 0.39C).
July 2015 is not even the hottest month since June.

In other words, what we’re seeing is more over-wrought hysteria, meant to scare people, and journalists aren’t even bothering with research. Just parroting press releases. And none of it proves anthropogenic causation.

Nor do any of the journalists wonder why members of the Cult of Climastrology mostly refuse to give up their own big carbon footprints.

Baltimore Now Has More Homicides Than NYC

Congratulations, Democratic Party run city Baltimore and mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake! Heck of a job there, SRB, what with all that giving “those who wished to destroy space to do that as well.”

Baltimore has surpassed New York City in homicides

Baltimore has surpassed New York City for homicides this year.

A New York Police spokeswoman said the city had seen 208 homicides as of Wednesday. Baltimore recorded its 212th homicide Wednesday night.

It’s a seemingly impossible milestone — New York has more than 8.4 million people, Baltimore just 620,000.

NYC has over 13 times the population of Baltimore, yet, fewer homicides. And a goodly chunk of those Baltimore homicides have come since the “unrest” in April. And, the majority of those killed are Black, and the suspects are Black. Why so little concern from the #BlackLivesMatter crew?

With months to go, 2015 now more deadly in Baltimore than all of last year

It was the city’s 213th homicide this year, which exceeds last year’s total of 211.

“Ever since that riot, everything has gone downhill,” said Wesley Wilson, 48, as he looked on at the crime scene. He passes through the area every day to visit his neighborhood bar, he said, adding that it is typically a quiet area.

City crime has surged since the April riots that followed the death of 25-year-old Freddie Gray, who sustained a spinal injury while in police custody.

The big number is 353, the peak of homicides in 1993.

Also Thursday, a 20-year-old man was shot in the head in the Remington neighborhood and critically wounded. Police said he was standing in the 2700 block of Huntingdon Ave. when he got into an argument with another man, who shot him in the “extreme upper body” and fled westbound on West 27th Street.

Residents said they have repeatedly complained to police about an increase in drug dealing in the area.

Well, when you throw the entire police department (in Democratic Party run Baltimore) under the bus and say you don’t want them in your neighborhoods, this is what you get.

Obviously, this is having no effect on the commerce of Baltimore, right?

Baltimore’s tourism industry took a hit after the rioting and unrest in April, with hotels reporting a significant drop in business since then, officials said Wednesday.

Overall, hotel room bookings were down nearly 9 percent for the fiscal year ending June 30 despite the major economic boon of the Star-Spangled Spectacular last September.

The figures were released Wednesday by the tourism organization Visit Baltimore at its annual meeting. Tom Noonan, the group’s president, and two hoteliers said they did not expect bookings to return to pre-unrest levels for months.

“Our hotels are down 5 to 10 percent depending on the hotel in the area, and if you look at our museums and our attractions and our restaurants, I think they’re taking it even a little harder than our hotels are,” Noonan said.

Gee, I wonder why people would want to avoid Baltimore?

California’s Green Hysteria Fails To Produce Jobs Nor Save Energy

(Wall Street Journal) How many workers does it take to change an incandescent light bulb in California? Two. One to install its energy-efficient replacement, and another to ensure the job complies with government regulations. Behold Tom Steyer’s green jobs stimulus, which a new report from the Associated Press shows has been a colossal failure even by its proponents’ standards.

In 2012 the hedge-fund billionaire bankrolled a California ballot initiative (Prop. 39) hitting up corporations to finance green construction jobs. The referendum changed the way many corporations that do business across state lines calculate their tax liability. Half of the new revenues were to be earmarked for “clean energy” (e.g., LED and solar panel installations) with the rest flowing into Sacramento’s general fund for the politicians to spend.

Mr. Steyer and friends claimed the initiative would raise more than $500 million annually for green projects and create tens of thousands of jobs. Neither dream has come true. According to AP, the initiative’s clean-energy fund has raised $973 million over the past three years—about a third less than projections because companies have responded by seeking to minimize their tax liabilities.

And where is most of the money going?

Funding recipients have frittered away millions completing paperwork—energy surveys, audits, data analytics—to meet California Energy Commission’s guidelines, which require $1.05 of energy savings for every dollar spent. Schools have spent more than half of the $297 million that they’ve received on consultants and auditors. As if California’s regulatory compliance industry needed more work.

It was supposed to create 11,000 jobs a year. Instead, it created 1,700 in 3 years. From the AP article

There’s no exact way to track how corporations reacted to the tax code change, but it’s likely most companies adapted to minimize their tax burdens, nonpartisan legislative analyst Ken Kapphahn said. He also said the change applies to a very small number of corporations.

A massive tax “loophole” was supposed to be closed. Instead, shockingly, business adapted. Amazing, isn’t it? In Liberal World, they expect things to stay the same, that nothing will change. Many of the companies adapted right to different states, costing California tax revenue.

Neither the Energy Commission nor Tim Rainey, director of the California Workforce Investment Board, could identify the types of jobs created by Proposition 39 projects. They said that information would be available when the oversight board meets for the first time, likely in October or November.

The board has yet to meet because “not enough data has been collected for the nine-member oversight board…to meet.” A massive new government regulation was implemented, one which has real world consequences to citizens, and the board has yet to meet. And, as usual, the plan is failing.

Unshockingly, Tom Steyer is set to reap a big monetary reward for laws like California’s.

Obama Works Hard To Destroy Coal – George Soros Buys Coal For A Pittance

Billionaire investor George Soros has opened new equity stakes in Peabody Energy Corp. and Arch Coal Inc., the country’s top two coal producers, according to a Form 13F-HR filed Aug. 14.

Soros acquired more than 1 million shares of Peabody and 553,200 shares of Arch in the second quarter, according to the filing. He reported no other coal holdings in the period.

Soros is a big supporter of all the things that the Cult of Climastrology wants to enact. Yet, he invests big time in coal. Has anyone told Obama yet?

Confirmed: Hillary Used Her Own Personal Blackberry During Time As Secretary Of State

Hillary Clinton’s email problems just keep getting worse and worse. The article opens up with a discussion of the Blackberry devices issued to and used by Cheryl Mills and Huma Abedin not being able to be found, and the State Dept thinking that they were destroyed or removed from their control. Then we get to

(The Hill) In the same court filing, the State Department confirmed its previous claim that Clinton used a personal BlackBerry during her time in office that was not issued by the federal government.

The State Department “does not believe that any personal computing device was issued by the department to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and has not located any such device at the department,” Macmanus wrote.

As noted at CBS News

“Anytime you’re bringing your own equipment and using it for work purposes, it’s not as secure as something that’s actually issued by the company,” CNET senior editor Dan Ackerman explained. “Because they take those laptops, for example, and they pre-configure them, they put their own software on them, tracking software, update software, and they distribute them.”

That raises the question, how secure were her personal devices, like her BlackBerry, since they weren’t issued by the State Department?

Why use her own Blackberry? The only logical reason is because State wouldn’t issue a Blackberry to hook up to her home-brew private server. It sounds like there needs to be a few subpoenas to IT and HR people at State, to see if any warned against this practice.

“But whether it was a personal account or a government account, I did not send classified material and I did not receive any material that was marked or designated classified, which is the way you know whether something is,” Clinton said Tuesday.

Is that even possible? It’s not even within the realm of possibility that she used her email account to only send personal stuff, like recipes and cat pictures. People would certainly send her classified information. Not only that, but there would be standard government business, all sent and received on a wholly unsecured server linked to an unsecured Blackberry.

Are we supposed to now trust Hillary with the secret mechanisms of the entire federal Executive Office? Here’s her communications director

“I’ve encountered this a lot in politics where people think that the answer is a lot more complicated than it really is,” Jennifer Palmieri told With All Due Respect co-host John Heilemann in an interview on Wednesday. “She’s answered this many times and she did have her own e-mail account. Others had done it before and it was just more convenient and she kept it like that, and she didn’t really—that’s the thing, she didn’t really think it through.”

That’s a hell of an endorsement for Hillary having the codes to the U.S. nuclear forces, eh?

St. Louis Police Arrest 9 During Protest Of Police Killing Criminal

(AP) At least nine people were arrested Wednesday and St. Louis police used tear gas to clear a street of protesters after an armed man fleeing from officers was shot and killed when he pointed a gun at them.

St. Louis Police Chief Sam Dotson said at a press conference late Wednesday night that a group of protesters who had blocked an intersection threw glass bottles and bricks at officers and refused orders to clear the roadway. Inert gas was used and when that didn’t have any effect on the crowd, police turned to tear gas to clear the intersection, Dotson said. Those arrested face charges of impeding the flow of traffic and resisting arrest, he said.

In addition to the arrests, officers responded to reports of burglaries in the area and the fire department was called after a car was set ablaze, according to Dotson.

What was the protest over?

Dotson said two police officers serving a search warrant Wednesday afternoon at a home in a crime-troubled section of the city’s north side encountered two suspects, one of which was 18-year-old Mansur Ball-Bey. The suspects were fleeing the home as Ball-Bey, who was black, turned and pointed a handgun at the officers, who shot him, the chief said. Ball-Bey died at the scene.

Both officers, who are white, were unharmed, according to a police report.

Dotson said four guns, including the handgun wielded by Ball-Bey, and crack cocaine were recovered at or near the home, which last year yielded illegal guns during a police search. Police are searching for the second suspect, who they said is believed to be in his mid-to-late teens.

So, the police were legally clearing a crackhouse. Ball-Bey ran. During the chase he stopped, turned, and pointed a gun at the officers. One officer shot once, the other three times. Ball-Bey then ran a bit more before collapsing and dying. The gun found on him was stolen from Rolla, Missouri. Two others were arrested at the house, where they also found several other stolen guns.

And then the “protesters” became violent, and caused mayhem and crime in their own neighborhood. KSDK has more in depth coverage of how the “protests” went down.

“Another youth down by the hands of police,” Dex Dockett, 42, who lives nearby, told a reporter. “What could have been done different to de-escalate rather than escalate? They (police) come in with an us-against-them mentality. You’ve got to have the right kind of cops to engage in these types of neighborhoods.”

I don’t know, how about telling us what could have been done different? One would think a citizen would be at least somewhat concerned about people who deal crack, and surely in the same neighborhood. Please explain what police are too do when the perp runs, then points a gun at them.

Another neighborhood resident, Fred Price, said he was skeptical about Dotson’s account that the suspect pointed a gun at officers before being mortally wounded.

“They provoked the situation,” Price, 33, said. “Situations like this make us want to keep the police out of the neighborhood. They’re shooting first, then asking questions.”

Yeah, they apparently provoked it by going to a house with a legal warrant. Couldn’t have anything to do with Ball-Bey being at a crack-house and in possession of a stolen weapon, could it?

Say, where was the protest over Silver Franklin, a black man, killing Donte Woodson, another black man? How about the 4 murdered a week ago? Or the 9 year old Black girl killed and mother wounded in a drive-by Tuesday in Ferguson, part of St. Louis county? How about the 119 Blacks killed this year in St. Louis, solely by other Blacks? Where’s the outrage? Where’s the protest?

Side Deal Allows Iran To, Get This, Inspect Their Own Military Nuclear Site

Is it any wonder that Obama and Kerry wanted nothing to do with telling Congress, nor the American People, about the side deals?

(Associated Press)  Iran will be allowed to use its own inspectors to investigate a site it has been accused of using to develop nuclear arms, operating under a secret agreement with the U.N. agency that normally carries out such work, according to a document seen by The Associated Press.

The revelation on Wednesday newly riled Republican lawmakers in the U.S. who have been severely critical of a broader agreement to limit Iran’s future nuclear programs, signed by the Obama administration, Iran and five world powers in July. Those critics have complained that the wider deal is unwisely built on trust of the Iranians, while the administration has insisted it depends on reliable inspections.

“International inspections should be done by international inspectors. Period. The standard of ‘anywhere, anytime’ inspections – so critical to a viable agreement – has dropped to ‘when Iran wants, where Iran wants, on Iran’s terms,'” said U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Ed Royce in a reaction typical of opponents of the broader deal.

The newly disclosed side agreement, for an investigation of the Parchin nuclear site by the U.N.’s International Atomic Energy Agency, is linked to persistent allegations that Iran has worked on atomic weapons. That investigation is part of the overarching nuclear-limits deal.

Next up, Obama will claim he read about this in the newspapers

The Parchin agreement was worked out between the IAEA and Iran. The United States and the five other world powers were not party to it but were briefed by the IAEA and endorsed it as part of the larger package.

What does this mean for the future of the Iran deal in Congress? I have no idea—but there’s no ignoring the fact that Democrats who have come out in support of this deal have either been totally snookered, or are (however unlikely) somehow in the know and thus complicit in this blatant precursor to a war crime.

Any elected official who votes for this deal, meaning only Democrats, because no Republicans plan to vote for it, have the consequences squarely on their heads. And here comes the Obama spin

Latest Prognistication: Not Acting On Hotcoldwetdry To Cost $44 Trillion

Prognostication or scary fable?

(CNBC) Up to $44 trillion could be going up in smoke if the world does not act on climate change, according to the latest piece of research from U.S. banking giant Citigroup.

The report – Energy Darwinism II: Why a Low Carbon Future Doesn’t Have to Cost the Earth — has forecast that spending on energy will hit around $200 trillion in the next 25 years.

The study then examines two scenarios: one that Citi describe as an “‘inaction’ on climate change scenario”, and another that looks at what could happen if a low carbon, “different energy mix” is pursued.

“What we’re trying to do is to take an objective view at the economics of this situation and actually look at what the costs of not acting are, if the scientists are right,” Jason Channell, Global Head of Alternative Energy and Cleantech Research at Citi, told CNBC Tuesday.

“And those are rather alarming numbers in themselves,” he added. “I mean, the central case we have in the report is that the costs in terms of lost (gross domestic product) GDP from not acting on climate change can be $44 trillion dollars by the time we get to 2060.”

So if we don’t do something, economic doom by 2060? Riiiiiight. This couldn’t possibly have anything to do with Citi wanting to make some cash off pushing “climate change” policies, especially with the big Paris IPCC meeting, could it?

The Citi report comes a few months before December’s crucial United Nations COP21 meeting in Paris. The meeting is seen as hugely significant, with the aim of reaching an agreement to keep global warming below two degrees centigrade.

Channell said he had high hopes for the summit. “What’s so exciting about Paris this year is that it’s the first time that all of the players are arriving with positively aligned intentions, including the big emitters: the US and China, who’ve obviously got their own accord between the two of them.”

Na, couldn’t be about money and control.
