What Say To A New “End Of Snow” Prediction?

The potential for snow to supply human water demand in the present and future

Runoff from snowmelt is regarded as a vital water source for people and ecosystems throughout the Northern Hemisphere (NH). Numerous studies point to the threat global warming poses to the timing and magnitude of snow accumulation and melt. But analyses focused on snow supply do not show where changes to snowmelt runoff are likely to present the most pressing adaptation challenges, given sub-annual patterns of human water consumption and water availability from rainfall. We identify the NH basins where present spring and summer snowmelt has the greatest potential to supply the human water demand that would otherwise be unmet by instantaneous rainfall runoff. Using a multi-model ensemble of climate change projections, we find that these basins—which together have a present population of ~2 billion people—are exposed to a 67% risk of decreased snow supply this coming century.

Doom!!!!! Or, is it doom??????

Further, in the multi-model mean, 68 basins (with a present population of >300 million people) transition from having sufficient rainfall runoff to meet all present human water demand to having insufficient rainfall runoff. However, internal climate variability creates irreducible uncertainty in the projected future trends in snow resource potential, with about 90% of snow-sensitive basins showing potential for either increases or decreases over the near-term decades. Our results emphasize the importance of snow for fulfilling human water demand in many NH basins, and highlight the need to account for the full range of internal climate variability in developing robust climate risk management decisions.

So, ‘climate change’ is going to cause more or less snowfall in the future. If they predict either and one comes true, they win!

This comes on the heels of one of the longest running failed climate predictions, the most awesome quote by Dr. David Viner, a senior research scientist at the CRU of East Anglia University, “Children just aren’t going to know what snow is”, being pulled along with the entire article from the UK Independent. The original title of the article was “Snowfalls are now just a thing of the past”, and led to the fun meme “schoolkids won’t know what (x) is”. I had lots of fun with it, with stuff like Schoolkids Seriously Tired Of Knowing What Snow Looks Like, and Tom Nelson used to do the same on his site, and still does on Twitter.

This year’s El Nino will be one of the strongest in 50 years and is likely to bring a cold snap at the end of winter

The long and short of it is that the UK Met office, renowned for getting their predictions wrong in their quest to push Hotcoldwetdry, is pre-blaming another potential cold and snowy winter on El Nino, after suffering through harsh winters for most of the last decade. That’s not to say they are wrong in that El Nino won’t cause this, but, one has to wonder, if El Nino, a natural occurrence, can cause weather changes, why can nature cause most of the minuscule warming over the past 160+ years?

Good News: We Can Totally Defeat Terrorism And Poverty By Fighting Climate Change!

It’s been a while since I took a peak at Grist. It’s not as fun since some of the writers, like David Roberts, left. But, this one is a hoot, as written by Robert Pollin

4 reasons why we can and must fight terrorism and poverty through climate action

Soon after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks in New York City, then-President George W. Bush offered the view that “we fight against poverty because hope is the answer to terror.” Bush himself never followed through in advancing a serious global anti-poverty agenda. But, in the in the aftermath of last Friday’s terrorist slaughter in Paris, it is imperative that the rest of us do so now.

Interesting. The United States has spent untold amounts around the world since the end of World War II on anti-poverty programs. We’ve spent around $22 trillion over the last 50 years. Yet, poverty still exists.

But, this matters not at all to members of the Cult of Climastrology, who will say and write anything to push their political agenda. They’ll link each and every real issue to their pet cause. Which means the real issues are made less important.

I was planning on excerpting the 4 reasons, but, really, all but the last one are just plain stupid and have shown historically that they are failures. The last one did peak my interest, though

  1. Small-scale distributed energy systems can flourish.
    Clean energy investments will create major new opportunities for alternative ownership forms to emerge, including various combinations of smaller-scale public, private, and cooperative enterprises. People are also able increasingly to install and operate their own small-scale distributed energy systems that rely less and less on electrical grids. This is already happening in a major way in the U.S., Germany, and other advanced economies, especially with solar energy installations. But here again, the opportunities are greatest in poor countries such as India, where more than 40 percent of rural households still do not have access to grid-based electricity. Distributed renewable energy will enable such rural households to leapfrog over grid-based electricity generation systems entirely.

It’s an interesting idea, one I wholly support. Smaller scale projects allow for better control, as well as storage of power, rather than relying on giant companies and governments controlling huge grids.  However, this goes against what the Cult wants, since this would take power (pun intended) out of the hands of Government.

If We Don’t Go Ahead With ‘Climate Change’ Meeting, The Terrorists Win Or Something

Somehow, I sincerely doubt that ISIS was really thinking about the big yearly climate change meeting which will take place in Paris in a few weeks when they planned their attacks. But, hey, the murderous ISIS attacks give those who want to enact draconian policies that put more control of people, private entities, energy, and economies in the hands of centralized government a chance to show just How Brave they are.

Why Paris climate change talks won’t allow protesters (+video)

A highly anticipated UN climate conference scheduled to start in Paris in two weeks will go on as planned, though many of the side events, like marches and concerts, will likely be canceled as France tries to balance a “business-as-usual” approach with increased security concerns.

But not so brave that they’ll allow protests and marches and stuff.

The terrorist attacks in Paris, which have killed 129 people and injured hundreds more, left some people worried that the French government and United Nations might cancel the COP21, where countries are expected to map out a global accord to limit greenhouse gas emissions.

But officials say that the main part of conference, the negotiations, will go on as planned.

“The feeling is we should go on with business as usual, because you can’t give in to these terrorists,” an unidentified European diplomat told Politico on Saturday, adding that his prime minister will attend.

Perhaps the attendees can pass a resolution of condemnation against ISIS for their huge carbon footprint. Seriously, how much carbon pollution was created by all that travel and the use of fossil fuels? Were the guns and bombs they used locally produced?

Mr. Fabius told Reuters that many world leaders have committed to come to the summit, despite the violent Friday attacks that shook the world.

He quoted some leaders as saying: “We not only planned to come, but now we have to come, because we have to show to the terrorists that we are not afraid of them.”

That’s French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius, who famously stated that the world has “500 days to avoid climate chaos“, 565 days before the Paris Conference on the Parties. If they do not come up with a (fascistic, authoritative) agreement, will the world end?

Some experts are saying that the conference may devote more time to discussions linking climate change with national security, a theme often stressed by U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, reports Reuters.

Well, if that is the case, then the attendees are part of the problem

Politico reports that the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change expects the event to draw about 10,000 government representatives to the Le Bourget conference center in a northeastern Parisian suburb, plus 3,000 journalists and about 7,000 climate activists and other observers each week.

So, over 20,000 people taking long fossil fueled trips to complain about ‘climate change’, which they blame mostly on the use of fossil fuels.

Say, I wonder if they would ever consider that terrorism is causes by writings in the Koran?

Also, if we don’t allow all the climate marches and protests and stuff, aren’t the terrorists winning?

North Carolina Joins Call To Restrict “Syrian” Refugees

One of the problems is that, according to at least one report, only 20% of the “refugees” entering Europe are actually from Syria. Some 80% are coming from Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nigeria, Albania, Libya, and other nations not called Syria. And a good majority are young men of fighting age. North Carolina governor McCrory joins the growing call to stop the in-flow to the United States, and puts his call in a way that puts anyone who wants unfettered immigration of these “refugees” on the hook

(WRAL) Gov. Pat McCrory says he has asked the federal government to stop sending Syrian refugees to North Carolina until more is known how those fleeing the war-torn country are vetted.

Citing last week’s Paris terrorist attacks, McCrory joined at least 10 other governors from around the country in asking the federal government to provide more information about those being resettled from Syria.

“I empathize with these people who are dealing with unimaginable atrocities from ISIS,” McCrory said during a hastily called news conference in Charlotte. “But what worries me is some of these people might be ISIS.”

How are they vetted? Supposedly, this is a process that takes two years on average. Yet, these “refugees” seem to be arriving quite quickly in the United States. Are they being thoroughly vetted? Of course, quite a bit of the information on the refugee comes…..from the refugee. We’re relying on them not lying. “Both Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson and FBI Director James Comey raised the challenge of being unable to vet all Syrians against existing intelligence information.”

And we all trust that the government isn’t making mistakes, taking shortcuts, ignoring protocol, etc, right?

(CNN) More than half the nation’s governors — 27 states — say they oppose letting Syrian refugees into their states, although the final say on this contentious immigration issue will fall to the federal government.

States protesting the admission of refugees range from Alabama and Georgia, to Texas and Arizona, to Michigan and Illinois, to Maine and New Hampshire. Among these 27 states, all but one have Republican governors.

OK, send them to those other states. Let them deal with the fallout (well, not really, we should be fully vetting all, including to see if they are believers in hardcore Islamism. It’s not just the violent ones we need to worry about). The thing is, according to Gov. McCrory, los Federales are not providing any information on the Syrian refugees (well, refugees from all over the Islamic world) to the government on North Carolina, besides the number imported. We don’t know who they are or where they are being relocated to.

Of course, this all leads to calls of Islamophobia from un-indicted co-conspirator CAIR

Nonetheless, the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), a civil rights group, says the governors’ announcements are indicative of growing Islamophobia among many in the US.

“We believe these governors are succumbing to fear and Islamophobia,” Ibrahim Hooper, national communications director of CAIR, told Al Jazeera.

CAIR is part of the Muslim Brotherhood, “an Islamic supremacist organization that pioneered 20th century Islamic terrorism and sanctions violence against civilians.” They very much attempt to use our laws, Constitution, and social mores against us in pushing their hardcore Muslim beliefs.

Finally, it should be no surprise that Liberals are up in arms over anyone wanting to stop the flow of unvetted and unknown refugees into the country. Just looking at the nations two main papers, the Washington Post and NY Times, we get

That last one from the NY Times Editorial Board is a pip. After starting with how Republicans and some EU nations are looking to stop the flow we get

These responses are wrong. Confusing refugees with terrorists is morally unacceptable and, as a matter of strategy, misguided. Stemming the exodus of refugees from Syria must be an important part of any comprehensive plan to end the Syrian war. Building new barriers to keep them out with the absurd argument that Muslims are inherently dangerous could provide propaganda benefits to the Islamic State. The group, also known as ISIS, has drawn recruits around the globe by offering a cause and a home to Muslims who feel marginalized and scorned.

Good grief. They actually think that people are joining ISIS because their feelings have been hurt.

Mr. Obama hit just the right note at the Group of 20 summit meeting in Antalya, Turkey, on Monday. “Many of these refugees are the victims of terrorism themselves, that’s what they’re fleeing,” he said. “Slamming the door in their faces would be a betrayal of our values. Our nations can welcome refugees who are desperately seeking safety and ensure our own security. We can and must do both.”

Perhaps if Mr. Obama had shown a spine early in the war, and even as far back as the Arab Spring, this would be a moot point. He set red lines, then ignored them. Is it really our duty to take in people who do not share our values, and could be potentially not just terrorists, but the type of Islamist who will, again, use our laws and societies against us in pushing their hardcore Islamist agenda?

Krugman: Terrorism A Deflection From The Real Issues, Especially ‘Climate Change’

So what was Friday’s attack about? Killing random people in restaurants and at concerts is a strategy that reflects its perpetrators’ fundamental weakness. It isn’t going to establish a caliphate in Paris. What it can do, however, is inspire fear — which is why we call it terrorism, and shouldn’t dignify it with the name of war.

The point is not to minimize the horror. It is, instead, to emphasize that the biggest danger terrorism poses to our society comes not from the direct harm inflicted, but from the wrong-headed responses it can inspire. And it’s crucial to realize that there are multiple ways the response can go wrong.

You can certainly see the Leftist idiocy in those two paragraphs, but, I have thrown them in as highlights leading up to this

Finally, terrorism is just one of many dangers in the world, and shouldn’t be allowed to divert our attention from other issues. Sorry, conservatives: when President Obama describes climate change as the greatest threat we face, he’s exactly right. Terrorism can’t and won’t destroy our civilization, but global warming could and might.

See? All these Islamic jihadis and their attempts to sow fear (and, really, they are just the violent arm of the Islamist movement. It’s really the non-violent ones, who use our laws and societal mores against us that are the bigger danger) are just tiny things when it comes to Hotcoldwetdry!

So much so that Warmists will run all over the nation and world putting out vast amounts of carbon pollution.

Black Lives Matter Activists Trot Out Messages Of Hate For Paris

For a group that complains about hate, they sure have quite a bit of it in their hearts (language warning)

(Breitbart) Resentful black activists and their comrades started a backlash against the huge public sympathy for the Parisian victims of the Islamist terror war. On Sunday, they used Twitter’s hashtag #FuckParis to reveal their emotional reaction to their loss of attention.

Breitbart News’ Milo Yiannopoulos reported, the social media backlash began almost immediately by Black Lives Matters activists upset about how the historic terror attack by ISIS that left over 120 dead had stolen the media spotlight overnight on Friday.

A small sampling of the tweets show no sympathy towards the killed and wounded in Paris. Instead, the left-wing activists described the slaughter in France as retribution for the Western colionialist, imperialist, racist, and white culture. The tweets cited included France’s long history with Haiti and Africa, as well as France’s popular ban on Muslim’s Afghan-style face-covering ‘niqab’ cloaks.

The #FuckParis hashtag also was retweeted by radicals in both America and Europe who supported the Islamist attack and open borders for refugees.

As we all learned in school, the best way to catch flies is with vinegar, amIright? Of course, reading the tweets at Breitbart and Twitter, it looks like quite a few of these folks never learned more than 1st grade English.

If only Black lives mattered to Black people. They comprise less than 14% of the population yet are responsible for 50% of the yearly murders. Of the over 300 murders in Baltimore this year, almost every single one was Black, and mostly Black males. Same in Chicago, Newark, Camden, St. Louis, etc. The majority of murders of Blacks are perpetrated by other Blacks.

Days After Terror Attack By Islamists In Paris, NY Times Uses Occasion To Demonize Right Wingers

I bet you thought this kind of thing only occurred in bat guano insane sites like Salon and Islamist defenders on social media. Negative, though at least the NY Times Editorial Board waited till Monday to post their screed, which is long on complaints against those who stand against the radical Muslims, and short on actually blaming the radical Muslims

What Will Come After Paris

The terrorist attacks in Paris on Friday, along with twin bombings in Beirut on the day before and the downing of a Russian jetliner over the Sinai Peninsula on Oct. 31, show a new phase in the Islamic State’s war against the West, a readiness to strike far beyond areas it controls in Iraq, Syria, and increasingly, Libya.

The challenge for threatened countries is huge. The sort of attacks the Islamic State, or ISIS, has launched are hard to anticipate or prevent, yet in Europe each one intensifies the raucous xenophobia of far-right nationalists ever ready to demonize Muslim citizens, immigrants and refugees, and shut down Europe’s open internal borders. The Islamic State must be crushed, but that requires patience, determination and the coordination of strategies and goals that has been sorely lacking among countries involved in the war on ISIS, especially the United States and Russia.

Got that? Europe has long been a hot-bed of importing radical Muslims, and allowing them to practice their extremist beliefs which include destroying Western society and killing Westerners. And now they are streaming in to European nations in huge numbers, the majority being young men, the exact type of recruit radical Islam likes. At least one of the Paris attackers had a Syrian passport. I think there’s a pretty darned good rationale for wanting to be damned cautious about the potential for Islamists.

President François Hollande of France defiantly declared the attacks in Paris “an act of war” and vowed a “pitiless” response. On Sunday, French warplanes bombarded Raqqa, the Syrian city that is an ISIS stronghold. Mr. Hollande is expected to offer other proposals when he addresses the French Parliament at a special session in Versailles on Monday. France already has some of Europe’s most intensive antiterrorist policing; adopting draconian measures of the sort demanded by far-right nationalists like Marine Le Pen of the National Front can only further alienate France’s Muslim population of five million, without offering any assurance against more attacks.

Only in Liberal World are they concerned with alienating people who have been showing that they do not want to integrate, but want Western nations to conform to their regressive beliefs. For the life of me, I don’t understand the Lefty position, since virtually everything the Islamists stand for is 100% against what Leftists stand for.

The attacks in Paris sent a major shockwave around the world, and the Beirut bombings and the downing of the Russian civilian jetliner were every bit as horrific. ISIS has demonstrated that there is no limit to its reach, and no nation is really safe until they all come together to defeat this scourge.

He’s holding a Koran and the ISIS flag. The flag itself says “There is no god but Allah. Mohammad is the messenger of Allah” at the top, and the round circle states “Mohammed is the messenger of God”.

Second, one must acknowledge that no one really knows who these people are. Would the NY Times allow someone totally unknown to wander around the newsrooms, or, better yet, the executive suits?
