ICE to spend up to $20m on gloves that can deliver painful electric shocks
ICE plans to spend up to $20m (£15m) to purchase thousands of gloves that can deliver painful electric shocks for officers and agents by March, according to a notice published Monday by the Department of Homeland Security.
The devices, called Glove (Generated Low Output Voltage Emitter), are manufactured by Compliant Technologies LLC of Lexington, Kentucky.
According to the manufacturer, “the discomfort associated with the stimulation is usually effective in bringing individuals into compliance in less than three seconds and leaves no burns, marks or scars”. The company has advertised the device as a “humane, low-optics, de-escalation solution for many situations facing our men and women in uniform”.
The gloves have previously been used in settings such as jails in the US.
ICE needs these ASAP, don’t wait till March.
“It’s immediate and sharp, and it will distract you. I call it like a bee sting,” said John Peters, president of the Institute for the Prevention of In-Custody Deaths, who is studying how the device has been used. “If the officer is getting any type of resistance from the person, this is certainly an effective tool.”

Civil rights advocates expressed alarm at the plan, saying ICE officers already face criticism for their use of force with little oversight or accountability while enforcing Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown.

2 – We have the crime-filled minority neighborhoods in large cities willing to let other gang-bangers, thugs, and petty criminals get away with s(tuff) in exchange for a reduced chance that their own family members who are gang-bangers, thugs, and petty criminals will wind up in jail.

By not overturning the applecart, we wound up with an uncounted number of illegal immigrants, the vast majority of whom are breaking the laws every day, we’ve got perhaps 20-25 million more people demanding housing and thus driving up costs for actual Americans, we’ve got maybe ten million illegal immigrant children driving up, and in some cases overcrowding, our public schools, we’ve got millions of illegals who have no health insurance burdening our hospitals and emergency rooms, and we’ve got millions driving down wages for actual American citizens. We need that applecart upset, and the invaders sent back to Make Mexico, or Wherever, Great Again.
We need our historical norms upset, with real controls at the border, with the careful vetting of all potential immigrants, and attitude that they must prove themselves worthy before being admitted, not simply assumed to be good people unless proven otherwise.
