ICE to spend up to $20m on gloves that can deliver painful electric shocks
ICE plans to spend up to $20m (£15m) to purchase thousands of gloves that can deliver painful electric shocks for officers and agents by March, according to a notice published Monday by the Department of Homeland Security.
The devices, called Glove (Generated Low Output Voltage Emitter), are manufactured by Compliant Technologies LLC of Lexington, Kentucky.
According to the manufacturer, “the discomfort associated with the stimulation is usually effective in bringing individuals into compliance in less than three seconds and leaves no burns, marks or scars”. The company has advertised the device as a “humane, low-optics, de-escalation solution for many situations facing our men and women in uniform”.
The gloves have previously been used in settings such as jails in the US.
ICE needs these ASAP, don’t wait till March.
“It’s immediate and sharp, and it will distract you. I call it like a bee sting,” said John Peters, president of the Institute for the Prevention of In-Custody Deaths, who is studying how the device has been used. “If the officer is getting any type of resistance from the person, this is certainly an effective tool.”

Civil rights advocates expressed alarm at the plan, saying ICE officers already face criticism for their use of force with little oversight or accountability while enforcing Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown.
Of course they are. Anything to protect illegal alien criminals.
Would they rather that ICE used bullets instead? These would be a different form of stun weapon. But I can also see how such devices might require a lot of training.
Our good friends on the left simply want to make it easier for illegal immigrants, and all criminals really, to evade and escape law enforcement. That’s been the case ever since George Soros started sponsoring criminal-loving and police-hating defense attorneys running for chief prosecutors. The left are willing to see criminals getting away with crimes for two reasons:
1 – We have AWFULs — affluent white female urban liberals — and their beta male husbands, boyfriends, and hangers on not really worried about crime, because it rarely happens in their neighborhoods, so they can allow their oh-so-noble sympathies for the poor and downtrodden to lead their “thinking;” and
2 – We have the crime-filled minority neighborhoods in large cities willing to let other gang-bangers, thugs, and petty criminals get away with s(tuff) in exchange for a reduced chance that their own family members who are gang-bangers, thugs, and petty criminals will wind up in jail.
