Suddenly, now that Sinwar is corpseified, the Palestinians want a ceasefire. They sure weren’t pushing much while Sinwar and Hamas were stonewalling
Palestinians pressing UN Security Council to call for immediate ceasefire in Gaza
The Palestinian Authority is pressing the United Nations Security Council to approve a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, as the UN warned that the humanitarian crisis in the enclave had intensified.
“We will be pressing for as quickly as possible for a resolution, demanding an immediate ceasefire” in Gaza, Palestinian Authority ambassador Riyad Mansour told reporters in New York on Saturday.
The resolution would also bring “humanitarian assistance to scale” to all corners of Gaza, he said, adding that the resolution could be brought forward as early as Tuesday.
They could get it in a heartbeat if Hamas would surrender, release all the hostages, and the Palestinians in Gaza stopped supporting terrorist organizations and terrorism against Israel and Jews.
“We need to save lives, not to kill more people, and we need to stop this crime against humanity and war” as well as the “crime of forced displacement” that Israel is committing, he said.
“It is the duty of the Security Council to say, ‘we demand an immediate ceasefire and compliance by all parties, and we demand that this take place, for example, within 24 hours or within 40 hours. Or else,” Mansour said.
Or else what, Sparky? Israel has been kicking the ever-lovin’ sh*t out of Hamas. Where will you get all the weapons and such? The PLO supports Iran, but, Iran doesn’t support the PLO. Iran supported Hamas. And the PLO is a designated terrorist organization by several US government agencies, as well as by law.
Overall he called for an Israeli withdrawal to the pre-1967 lines and for a two-state resolution to the conflict with east Jerusalem as the capital of the future Palestinian state.
So, let’s say Israel goes back to the pre-1967 lines: that would mean the West Bank belongs to Jordan and Gaza to Egypt (though, some will say those were “Palestinian” areas): neither country wants Palestinians, they are too much trouble. Might those nations say “GTFO”? If the Palestinians in Gaza weren’t so violent Israel would probably let them have Gaza. Don’t forget that Egypt has a big wall on their border with Gaza.

By strike, they mean they will blow them up. Good.

Hello from the Southern Hemisphere, where the days are getting longer and temperatures are rising. Yet, despite the clear signs of spring here, we find ourselves inundated with invitations to events that speak of fall or autumn, or newsletters announcing workshops that will run this coming winter. It leaves us wondering: are we invited at all into this season different from our own?

When Kyle Townsend and Mitchell Gunther decided to start an orchard in this town just east of Niagara Falls two years ago, they quickly dismissed the idea of growing conventional fruit. Warmer winters, followed by snap freezes, were devastating apple and peach crops. They nixed grape vines and berries, which invasive pests were targeting.
