Happy Sunday! The sun is out, birds are singing, the mockingbirds are mocking them. Just a day away from America’s Independence Day. This pinup is by Earl Moran, with a wee bit of help.
What is happening in Ye Olde Blogosphere? The Fine 15
As always, the full set of pinups can be seen in the Patriotic Pinup category, or over at my Gallery page. While we are on pinups, since it is that time of year, have you gotten your “Pinups for Vets†calendar yet? And don’t forget to check out what I declare to be our War on Women Rule 5 and linky luv posts and things that interest me
Don’t forget to check out all the other great material all the linked blogs have!
Anyone else have a link or hotty-fest going on? Let me know so I can add you to the list. (BTW, since someone asked, the reason I leave links for the previous week up (or you might see a *) is because they are place holders for later in the day or for next weeks. Easier than rewriting all the time. Also, the listing order has to do with how they are added over time, not how good a post is. I just copy and paste from the previous week, then edit. If you see one of the *’s, go ahead and check out the blog anyhow, see if there is an update. I cannot update with my Android during the day.

You didn’t think Warmists would forget about using Independence Day as a way to push their cultish beliefs, did you?
Declare Energy Independence this July 4th!
Once again we are gearing up to celebrate the Fourth of July, which also means it’s time to declare your energy independence from fossil fuels! Improving energy efficiency in your home or going solar are just two ways to take control of your energy destiny while saving money.
Yes, you read that right. Becoming more energy efficient willsave you money! A few simple ideas include using fans instead of air conditioning, changing the light bulbs in your house to compact fluorescents or LEDs, and wrapping your water heater with an inexpensive insulation blanket.
There’s nothing wrong with saving money on energy. I certainly take steps to do this. But, of course, they have to link it to ‘climate change’. Why? Because their bat guano insane. They even have this little graphic

Then we get to hot dogs. No, really
Celebrate America by avoiding our national embarrassment: Hot dogs
Independence Day has historically been a time to remember our forbears, to consider the spectacular achievements this country has made, and to shove approximately 155 million hot dogs down our collective throats. But, this year, I’m begging you: Say no to the weenie, the worst meat of them all.
Reading on, you can see that how some hot dogs are made is pretty gross. Of course, ‘climate change’ rears its silly head
Most of the 9 billion hot dogs Americans purchase each year are produced in massive factory farms. In the U.S., about 97 percent of pork — some 65 million pigs — are reared and slaughtered in factory farms. While strides have been made to improve sanitation and animal welfare at these farms in recent years, the industry is known for cramped conditions, overuse of antibiotics, and inhumane conditions. Not to mention factory farming’s contribution to climate change: According to the FAO, animal agriculture is responsible for 18 percent of greenhouse gas emissions — more than all the emissions from transportation.
Having read Grist for years, that last bit is the most important. Greenhouse gases. Why won’t Warmists give up meat?

Time wants you to take a quiz to see if you agree with other Americans
Americans may widely support fireworks, cookouts and days off work, but as we approach July 4, national opinion remains deeply divided over topics like gun control and climate change. This quiz will poll you on 10 questions from the Pew Research Center and tell you how strongly your opinions and habits align with the country at large.
Of course, all Americans are equally “American,†and few things are arguably more patriotic than holding unpopular or fringe opinions. This quiz will simply show you how close you are to the average citizen, based on nationally representative polls. The results may surprise you.
Of course, what they mean is if you’re against gun control and solving ‘climate change’, you’re fringe. Of course, on the question “Do you think climate change is a very serious problem?”, 55% said “no’. Oops. Decades of “spreading awareness” and they still lose.
But, hey, if Warmists want energy independence from fossil fuels, they should simply give them up. Easy peasy, right?

Democrats continued on with their gun grabbing civil rights offending agenda Friday
(Bloomberg) House Democrats said Friday they won’t support legislation Speaker Paul Ryan plans to bring to a vote next week that seeks to prevent terrorists from purchasing firearms.
Following their dramatic 25-hour House chamber sit-in last week to demand votes on gun bills, Democrats contend the Republican proposal doesn’t provide strong enough action and warn that renewed protests are possible after the House reconvenes Tuesday. (snip)
Instead, they will continue to press for votes on legislation broadening background checks for gun sales and banning firearm sales to people on the government’s “no-fly†list of suspected terrorists. Democratic calls for such legislation intensified after the killings of 49 people in a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida.
Ryan’s bill, HR 5611, is essentially exactly the same as the ones offered by Democrats in the Senate, except that it provides Due Process guarantees, putting the burden on the Government to prove that a person shouldn’t be allowed to purchase a firearm, and the government cannot use secret information that will be hidden from the plaintiff. It even institutes the notion from that “bipartisan” Senate bill which would have the government picking up the legal tab if the government loses.
Apparently, Democrats are against the Constitution.

All of this could have been avoided had the city of Charlotte not passed it’s gender confused, er, transgender bill in the first place, one that had originally failed in the city council the other year, and were warned against passing this year by the NC General Assembly. The bill forced, among others, private entities to allow the gender confused to use whatever bathroom, changing room, and shower that they felt like, invading and violating the privacy of non-gender confused patrons, and would cost those businesses money. That said, HB2 did go a bit wander down the road a bit further than necessary, as government legislation so often does. Governor Pat McCrory wanted a few changes, and got one of them
(WRAL) North Carolina lawmakers have reversed a small piece of House Bill 2 dealing with the right to sue for wrongful termination in state court, but they left intact the remainder of the controversial measure dealing with LGBT rights and the use of bathrooms by transgender individuals.
That change was inserted into House Bill 169 late Friday night as lawmakers worked to end their legislative session for the summer.
Members of the House voted 82-18 in favor of the fix. Senators voted 26-14. The measure now goes to Gov. Pat McCrory, who has sought this specific change since House Bill 2 passed in March.
“Governor McCrory is pleased the General Assembly has acted on his request and restored non-discrimination protections in state courts. This action reinstates all statewide non-discrimination protections that were previously in place,” McCrory spokesman Josh Ellis said in a statement.
While they used to have 3 years to file a complaint, the fix allows one year, which is actually twice as long as federal law limit. So, wait a minute, liberals claim that state law cannot deviate from federal law. We learned this when they blew a gasket over Arizona’s SB1070, deal with illegal aliens. According to their talking points, then NC should only allow 6 months to file a claim. Can’t have it both ways, liberals! Of course, they will want it both ways. That’s what they do.
And, of course, liberals still want the entire thing repealed, because they really want to intrude on the privacy of young girls by allowing penis in their bathrooms, locker rooms, and showers. In their world, all someone has to do is say they identify with the opposite biological sex, and they can go wherever they want. The rights of little girls? To liberals, they could care less. Unless it’s their own child, then they’ll probably flip a wig.

Quick, pass some gun laws!
(Fox News) DEVELOPING: A group of up to nine attackers set off bombs and took hostages while shouting “Allahu Akbar” inside a restaurant frequented by both locals and foreigners in a diplomatic zone in Bangladesh’s capital, local media reported Friday.
ISIS’ Amaq News Agency later reported that ISIS fighters carried out the attack.
But, they had guns, so, let’s ignore the problems with the Religion of Peace and disarm everyone.

One is a real issue, the other is made up. Hey, here’s an idea for Warmists: destroying Islamic extremism, then you can get back to yammering on about future doom from tiny amounts of CO2
(Daily Caller) CNN White House correspondent Michelle Kosinski complained that “virtually every time†the White House has a foreign trip where “climate change†will be discussed, “terrorism†overshadows the event.
In a segment on “CNN Newsroom†with Carol Costello on Wednesday, while reporting from Ottawa, Canada, Kosinski provided an update about Obama’s call with Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan regarding the recent terrorist attack where 41 people were killed and 230 were hurt, before proceeding to complain about the news cycle.
Kosinski said, “It’s also interesting to think that virtually every time we go on one of these foreign trips where the White House wants to emphasize something else, I mean here, they really want to be focusing on North America and climate change. Again, terrorism has overshadowed some of those subjects.â€
