We’re Apparently At The Penguin Poop Can Help ‘Climate Change’ Portion Of The Show

This is the kind of stuff that would have been in the Weekly World News, or, at least, a minor news outlet, not a major national one. But, this is a cult, so, there is no thought given to how insane this all sounds

How penguin poop can help to mitigate climate change

Penguins could be playing a crucial role in stabilizing the climate in Antarctica when they go No. 2, according to new research.

The ammonia in penguin guano — or poop — could help to reduce the impacts of climate change by contributing to increased cloud formation, a paper published in Communications Earth & Environment on Thursday found.

Penguins, a key species in Antarctica, are “major emitters” of ammonia, according to the paper. When the ammonia reacts with gases that contain sulfur emitted from phytoplankton in the ocean, it increases the creation of aerosols, which give water vapor a surface to condense upon and leads to cloud formation, Matthew Boyer, a researcher at the University of Helsinki’s Institute for Atmospheric and Earth System Research and lead author of the paper, told ABC News.

“Could”? They either are or aren’t. If you are not sure, then there is not story. And no scientific paper.

The researchers spent two months from January to March 2023 measuring the concentration of ammonia in the air near a colony of 60,000 Adelie penguins at Marambio Base in Antarctica. They observed that when the wind blew from the direction of the colony, the ammonia concentration increased to more than 1,000 times higher than the baseline value, according to the paper.

Smelly little buggers. Also, not a particularly long study. Two months in just one year is not enough to create a baseline.

They found that when the wind blew from the penguin colony, the number and size of aerosol particles sharply increased. A fog that remained three hours after the wind charged was likely a result of the increased concentration of aerosol particles, the researchers said.

“Likely”? It is or isn’t related. Do they teach the Scientific Method nowadays? This is all ifs and buts. What percent is “likely”?

The poop is likely helping to reduce the impacts of climate change on the continent, further highlighting the necessity of protecting native ecosystems and biodiversity, which are critical to mitigating climate change.

“What we have demonstrated is that there is a deep connection between ecosystem processes — being the ocean phytoplankton activity as well as penguins — and atmospheric processes that can have an impact on the local climate,” Boyer said.

There’s that likely again. The only ones surprised by the interaction of facets of the ecosystems seems to be the “scientists.”

How Much USAID Money Actually Went To Helping People?

Back in the day when I worked for a huge company they matched donations to a few private aid companies, and I remember looking up how much of the donated money actually went to helping people in need. It was low. Very low. Really, anything below 70% seems low to me. I do not give those companies anymore. This, though, is insane

Rubio Despairs Just 12 Cents of Every Dollar from USAID Reached the Needy

Secretary of State Marco Rubio struck out at what he calls the U.S. “foreign aid industrial complex” during a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing, despairing at the inability of USAID to deliver funds where they are needed most.

Rubio directly targeted the organization, adding the time has come for root-and-branch change.

“At USAID, 12 cents of every dollar was reaching the recipient. That means that in order for us to get aid to somebody, we had to spend all this other money supporting this foreign aid industrial complex,” Rubio said.

“We’re going to find more efficient ways to deliver aid to people directly. It’s going to be directed by our regional bureaus. It’s going to sponsor programs that make a difference. And it’s going to be part of a holistic approach to our foreign policy.”

I thought the grift would be low, but, 12%? Look at what happens: government money is given to an NGO or group to Do Something. They take their cut, and farm the job out to one or more other entities. Who take their cut. And possibly farm it out again. And then they have their overhead and such, beyond taking their slush cut. And then maybe the warlords and politicians in the foreign countries take their cut. 12%

Imagine what the US could do with all that allocated money for USAID and pretty much every other agency if it was spent wisely, if it wasn’t treated as a slush fund.

Same thing. Entities taking their cut.

Unhinged Leftist Murders Two Members Of Israeli Embassy In D.C.

The shock is that more of this hasn’t happened, what with all the Jew and Israel hatred emanating from the Democratic Party and all the Islamists they support

Two Israeli Embassy workers shot and killed near Jewish museum in D.C.

A young Israeli couple was shot dead near the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington late Wednesday by a gunman who chanted “free, free Palestine” after the shooting, according to authorities. A suspect was in custody.

The victims were both Israeli Embassy employees, authorities said. They were exiting the museum in Northwest Washington after attending an event hosted by the American Jewish Committee when the gunman opened fire, authorities said.

The state of Israel’s X account identified the victims as Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Lynn Milgrim. Israeli government officials said Thursday that Lischinsky was a research assistant in the embassy’s political department and that Milgrim organized missions and visits to Israel.

Lischinsky and Milgrim were “in the prime of their lives” and planning to get married, said the Israeli Embassy and its spokeswoman Tal Naim. “Instead of walking you down the aisle, we are walking with you to your graves,” Naim said Thursday on X.

The shooting will be investigated as a possible hate crime, Steven J. Jensen, the assistant director in charge of the FBI’s Washington field office, said during a news conference hours after the shooting. Israeli officials on Thursday referred to the killings as a “terrorist” attack motivated by antisemitism and anti-Israel sentiments.

Fortunately it will be a federal case, not a D.C. case, since the moonbats in the D.C. prosecutors office and the judges would probably lower the charges to misdemeanors or dismiss them. But, yes, this is the natural progression of all the Jew hatred on college campuses along with all the elected Democrats and Hollyweirdos and such taking the side of Palestinians, who want to kill all the Jews and erase Israel.

Smith said police believed the shooting was carried out by one person and that a suspect, identified as Elias Rodriguez of Chicago, was in custody.

It took the Washington Post that long to identify the murderer. Of course, the failed in trying to identify Rodriguez, just like most Credentialed Media outlets

It takes Netizens to expose who Elias Rodriguez is.

Brazil Is Totally Crafting A Climate Crisis (scam) Plan Ahead Of COP30

I wonder how that will work out. Will it include stopping the 40,000 people who will take fossil fueled travel to Brazil, do it via Zoom?

Brazil is crafting an action plan on climate and health ahead of COP30

Ensuring impacts on health are prioritized in climate change discussions hasn’t always been an easy sell in a discussion that was long dominated by imagery of melting icebergs and starving polar bears.

But in recent years, the conversation has broadened beyond the environmental impacts of climate change — bringing greater visibility to the human health tolls such as cholera outbreaks, the impact of extreme heat on pregnant mothers and babies, natural disaster-battered clinics, and malnourished children. (snip)

Brazil is currently drafting — in consultation with civil society, international organizations, academia, and other countries — an action plan for climate change adaptation in the health sector that will be presented to countries at COP30. It aims to offer a set of evidence-based, cost-effective adaptation actions to countries, Brazilian Health Minister Alexandre Padilha said during the World Health Assembly, or WHA, this week in Geneva. This ranges from early warning systems to strategic medicine stockpiles.

“We are rapidly approaching a point of no return in global temperature rise and environmental degradation. … The consequence for public health must not be underestimated,” he said. “Our proposal is grounded in the guiding principles of health equity, climate and health leadership, good governance, and social participation.”

OK, yeah, yeah, yeah. Also Brazil

I mentioned this back in March. Save the climate by destroying the Amazon, which the same people complain about.

Trump Admin Deports Eight Scumbags To South Sudan, Fines Another $1.8 Million

I doubt the Trump admin will send that many more to South Sudan, but, not because a squishy judge said don’t do this

Trump admin sends 8 ‘barbaric’ illegal migrants to South Sudan — even though only one is from there in shock decision

The Trump administration said it has deported at least eight violent illegal migrants to one of the poorest nations on Earth — with their crimes being so “monstrous and barbaric” that no other country apparently would take them, a Trump administration official told The Post Wednesday.

The migrants were put on a flight to South Sudan — a violence-plagued African country — over the objections of a federal judge.

South Sudanese officials have also objected to the flight.

Of the eight felons, only one is a native of South Sudan. The others are from Cuba, Laos, Mexico, Myanmar and Vietnam.

“We conducted a deportation flight from Texas to remove some of the most barbaric, violent individuals illegally in the United States,” Homeland Security said in an X post announcing the latest migrant removals.

Murderers, child abusers, one sexually assaulted a disabled lady. South Sudan says they haven’t landed yet, and would be deported to their home countries. Will the Trump admin send more?

Trump administration fined this low-income migrant $1.8 million

Wendy Ortiz was surprised to find out she was being fined by U.S. immigration authorities for being in the country illegally – but it was the amount that truly shocked her: $1.8 million.

Ortiz, 32, who earns $13 an hour in her job at a meatpacking plant in Pennsylvania, has lived in the United States for a decade, after fleeing El Salvador to escape a violent ex-partner and gang threats, she said in an interview and in immigration paperwork. Her salary barely covers rent and expenses for her autistic 6-year-old U.S.-citizen son.

“It’s not fair,” she said. “Where is someone going to find that much money?”

In the last few weeks, U.S. President Donald Trump has started to operationalize a plan to fine migrants who fail to leave the U.S. after a final deportation order, issuing notices to 4,500 migrants with penalties totaling more than $500 million, a senior Trump official said, requesting anonymity to share internal figures.

Reuters spoke with eight immigration lawyers around the country who said their clients had been fined from several thousand dollars to just over $1.8 million.

In other words, she’s living on the public dole, and has a final deportation order, as do others. And she doesn’t get to whine about fair. She’s been here illegally

The Trump administration plan, details of which were first reported by Reuters in April, include levying fines of $998 per day for migrants who failed to leave the U.S. after a deportation order.

The administration planned to issue fines retroactively for up to five years, Reuters reported. Under that framework, the maximum would be $1.8 million. The government would then consider seizing the property of immigrants who could not pay.

This is all based on a 1996 law which enacted this. But, do Los Federales actually expect to get the money? Surely not. This is an incentive for illegals to leave. They do not have to go to their home countries: they can go elsewhere. Go to Canada.

Both of these are meant to get illegals to self deport.

Rich Daughter Of Rich Jennifer Garner Decries Fellow Rich Folks On Global Boiling

Jennifer Garner is reportedly worth around $80 million. Dad Ben Affleck is worth about $150 million. It costs about $90K a year to go to Yale, and I bet their daughter isn’t paying a cent

Jennifer Garner’s daughter blasts the wealthy after L.A. fires
In a college essay, the 19-year-old daughter of Garner and Ben Affleck despaired of the ignorance about climate change.

Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck better not be traveling on carbon-emitting private jets, and the ex-spouses might want to re-think their need to live in massively-sized houses, because their oldest daughter, Violet Affleck, has fashioned herself into a climate justice warrior who has published an essay calling out the environmental harm caused by the privileged lifestyle in which she was raised.

Does Violet fly home to California on a jet, or take Amtrak cross country?

The 19-year-old Yale University student writes about the devastating Los Angeles fires in January, which forced her mother and two younger siblings to evacuate from their Pacific Palisades home. The essay, published in an undergraduate campus publication, opens with Violet Affleck describing how she was holed up in a hotel, arguing with her mother about the causes and “the scale of the destruction.”

“She was shell-shocked, astonished at the scale of destruction in the neighborhood where she raised myself and my siblings,” Violet Affleck writes in The Yale Global Health Review. “I was surprised at her surprise: As a lifelong Angelena and climate-literate member of generation Z, my question had not been whether the Palisades would burn but when.”

I sorta remember being 19 and think I knew everything. Of course, my folks were middle class, so, I didn’t quite have the luxury of worrying about complete bullshit.

“As I chatted with adults in the hotel where we’d gone to escape the smoke, though, I found my position to be an uncommon one: people spoke of how long rebuilding would take, how much it would cost, and how tragically odd the whole situation had been,” she wrote. She said they blamed the crisis on “bad luck,” while her younger brother, Samuel, couldn’t understand what global warming had to do with the hurricane-force winds and dry topography that fueled the flames after the Palisades Fire broke out in the Santa Monica Mountains on Jan. 7.

Apparently, Violet doesn’t understand the topography, geography, and historical climate of the area, to which Mankind added highly flammable buildings, poorly maintained powerlines, and an inability to clear dry brush.

Yes, this daughter of rich and famous movie stars is turning the mirror on her own privileged upbringing. It has been established that wealthy people have a higher carbon footprint than everyone else. The world’s wealthiest 10% are responsible for two thirds of observed global warming since 1990, and for the resulting increases in climate extremes such as heatwaves and droughts, according to a 2005 study in Nature Climate Change.

It’s easy for her to say/write, but, is she willing to give up her own privileged lifestyle? We all know the answer is “no”.

As for addressing climate change, Violet Affect explains that it can’t be reversed but that it can be slowed and that people should do what they can to nudge environmental trends in that direction. “Adopting a pacing strategy towards the climate crisis then means not only celebrating every potential catastrophe we avoid but also embracing the ways in which each one could have been worse,” she said. She also said that, as “COVID-conscious” people and disabled people “celebrate each chain of transmission broken,” climate scientists can recognize that “each degree of warming we avoid will be a victory.” she also said.

Well, she has the whole Victimhood down. But, she won’t practice what she preaches. That’s for the little people. This is completely symptomatic of the rich who have nothing bad in their lives.

Washington Post Editorial Board Says The People Should Have Been Informed About Biden’s Health Issues

The one year anniversary of the Biden-Trump debate that destroyed Biden’s 2nd term aspirations will be June 27th, and featured one of the most devastating lines ever in a presidential debate: “I really don’t know what he said at the end of that sentence, I don’t think he knows what he said either.” And the Washington Post EB is now on the case, after the cancer diagnosis

Was Biden too frail for the job? Voters should have been informed.

Former president Joe Biden’s announcement that he has an aggressive form of prostate cancer is a sad reminder that none of us, even the mightiest, is immune to the illnesses that arrive with age. Americans rightly wish for him a successful treatment.

The timing of this news is particularly difficult, coming just as CNN anchor Jake Tapper and Axios journalist Alex Thompson release “Original Sin,” their chronicle of Biden’s cognitive decline. They describe how his mental slips accumulated during his presidency, leading to his disastrous performance last June at a debate with Donald Trump, and his subsequent exit from the presidential race.

Biden is owed respect for his decades of public service. But the office he held must be respected, too, and this is why, despite his latest malady, the public conversation must continue about his — and all other presidents’ — fitness for office.

The U.S. presidency is the biggest, most taxing job there is, demanding an almost superhuman level of basic intelligence, clear thinking and wisdom. In addition to managing a policy agenda, negotiating with foreign leaders, making legislative deals and representing the nation at home and abroad, the president also must be prepared to handle an unexpected crisis at any hour of the day or night.

Quite frankly, I’m less concerned about his cancer diagnosis in regards to doing the job than his mental issues, which we all saw during the 2020 general election. And we all saw getting worse. Perhaps if the Washington Post news division did their job and demanded answers we could have gotten answers. There’s also a chance that Biden has had the prostate cancer for a while now, and that the medication and treatment made his dementia even worse. The guy who was leading the world into WWIII

It now seems that, for a considerable time, Biden might have lacked the stamina and cognitive capacity the job demands — and that his family and closest aides concealed this from the public. Their apparent decision to put personal loyalties ahead of their duty to the country must be reckoned with. A legal mechanism should be considered to ensure that this doesn’t happen again.

If only there were people who could investigate, people mentioned specifically by the 1st Amendment so that the government could not retaliate for investigating and exposing the government.

The people closest to Biden could hardly have avoided observing his infirmity — indeed, the actions they took to hide it indicate that they knew all too well. Early issues surfaced in the 2020 campaign, when he had memory lapses, including forgetting the name of one of his closest advisers and the opening lines to the Declaration of Independence. A Democrat interviewed by Tapper and Thompson who was involved in making Zoom videos of Biden speaking to constituents during the pandemic lockdown said that, after watching hours of mostly unusable footage, they concluded he was incapable of doing the job.

And, yet, none of those in the media or the Dem party exposed this at the time. They sat on it. Anyhow, this goes on and on for a bit (you can pull it from the paywall at Archive), ending with

In a democracy, the voters, when selecting a commander in chief, need to be discerning, to elevate candidates who have the stamina and the smarts to serve. Four years later, they can assess that person’s ability to take on another term. If problems arise between elections, then White House officials and Congress must be counted on to responsibly act.

Is the WPEB going to sit there and say reporters didn’t know? I do not remember the WP or the EB calling for an investigation into Biden at any point. They’re sitting there saying that Government should tell us. And, they’re not wrong. But, The Press is there to investigate. And tell. They failed.

Going back to May 2023

(Fox News) “Mr. Biden’s age is not inevitably the decisive issue, but it is a real one, and he will have to address it, forthrightly, whether the choice in 2024 is between him and Mr. Trump or another Republican. The public has a right to know details about his health, physical and mental, and about what he is doing to maintain it. The president also has an obligation to interact with the public, especially with reporters, regularly, and in settings that are not tightly controlled by the White House staff,” the editorial board wrote.

And what did the WP do after? Mostly, the news division ignored the issue, when they weren’t telling us that he was in great shape and totally up for the job. Just like the rest in the Credentialed Media. If Trump was having mental and age issues, you can damned well bet the reporters would be all over it.

Surprise: Even If All The Climate (scam) Initiatives Are Met Seas Will Rise In A Doomy Manner

Lots of UK tide gauges are not that good for long range, but, the one at Aberdeen shows a whopping .26 of sea rise per 100 years, which is closer to what one would expect in a low level Holocene warm period

Sigh. From the link

The world could see hugely damaging sea-level rise of several metres or more over the coming centuries even if the ambitious target of limiting global warming to 1.5C is met, scientists have warned.

Nearly 200 countries have pledged to try to keep the planet’s warming to 1.5C, but the researchers warn that this should not be considered “safe” for coastal populations.

They drew their conclusion after reviewing the most recent studies of how the ice sheets are changing – and how they have changed in the past.

But the scientists stress that every fraction of a degree of warming that can be avoided would still greatly limit the risks.

Centuries. Even 2 meters (6 feet) in the next 200 years be too much of a prognostication based on reality. But, I do like how they’ve now decided on several centuries as their time frame.

The authors of the new paper, published in the journal Communications Earth and Environment, draw together three main strands of evidence to underline this case.

The world’s current trajectory puts the planet on course for nearly 3C of warming by the end of the century, compared with the late 1800s, before humans began burning large amounts of planet-heating fossil fuels. That’s based on current government policies to reduce carbon emissions from fossil fuels and other polluting activities. (snip)

First, records of the Earth’s distant past suggest significant melting – with sea levels several metres higher than present – during previous similarly warm periods, such as 125,000 years ago.

And the last time there was as much planet-warming carbon dioxide in the atmosphere as today – about 3 million years ago – sea levels were about 10-20m higher.

So, this has happened before, and was not mankind’s fault? I wonder if the BBC will yank those last three paragraphs out off the article, because it blows up their Belief that this is, in fact, all Mankind’s fault.
