Georgia ICE sweep nabs over 700 criminal illegal aliens, including sex offenders, child abusers

Federal immigration officers arrested more than 1,200 illegal immigrants in the Atlanta, Georgia, area, including 720 who DHS said had been convicted of or charged with crimes.

Speaking on “Fox & Friends,” Marcos Charles, executive associate director of ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations, said the sweep took violent criminals, including sex offenders and child abusers, off the streets.

“We arrested over 1,200 aliens, illegal aliens, out in the Atlanta, Georgia, area. More than half of those people had criminal histories,” Charles said.

“We’re talking about sex crimes, assault and battery, some with DUI convictions, domestic violence. These individuals needed to be taken off the street, not only because they’re criminals, but because they are here illegally in the United States.”

The Department of Homeland Security announced online that the sweep, Operation Safe Community – Atlanta, focused on criminal illegal immigrants.

Too bad that NICE can’t confine them to the homes of Democrats calling to abolish NICE.

    More good news.

    So much for the idea that tariffs would damage U.S. productivity and manufacturing.
    If tariffs are hurting American manufacturing, someone forgot to tell the factories.

    The Labor Department reported Thursday that manufacturing output rose at a 4.6 percent annual rate in the second quarter. Hours worked increased 2.6 percent. Productivity, which measures output per hour, rose 1.9 percent.

    Jobless claims have been below 200,000 for three consecutive weeks, the first such streak in 57 years. The last time jobless claims remained this low for this long was in 1969, during the extraordinary stretch of low unemployment from 1967 through 1969.

    720 seems like a slow day. I suppose at some point it will be harder to find reportable people but that day is not today. I saw enough of them in my local Walmart today to top that amount.
