Democrats Running For President Must Pledge To Restore D.C. To Pre-Trump

This is wild. It may be just one tweeting it, but, can you see a ton of them thinking this?

I agree that the arch is dumb and should be skipped, but, is Ted really saying he wants to tear down the new East Wing and replace it with the old building? That’s wild, considering how much he has whined about its cost. I also agree that Trump putting his name on the Kennedy Center, but, the building is being rejuvenated because it is old and falling apart. As to the last, D.C., do Ted and the Democrats really want the crime and squalor back?

Will Ted go ahead and make sure all the fountains are shut down again?

Pretty much.

60 Years ago I was in Vietnam sleeping on the ground, eating C rations 10 or 20 years old, No fresh meat, no milk or real eggs
8 or 9 months temperatures 100 to 120 degrees.3 or 4 months our ground under a cot was 3 to 8 “” in water, when we returned you sick Democrat Bastards were spitting on us, they never called it a war! It was called a police action. We never got VA benefits for years, Most of You people don’t deserve what we sacrificed!!!
I feel terrible actually sick for the 18 fallen. A lot of you don’t deserve the sacrifice now either. What we are doing in Iran should have happened year ago.
As for gas prices when I was in my first employment was 35 cents, I made 1.75 an hour,
    A nice home cost 25000 to 30000
Do the math dumbass, OH I forgot you didn’t learn anything in college, You spent all your time being indoctrinated!
I still love this country! I have worked or visited 32 countries and over 40 states Our country is the Greatest the people not so much! I’m praying for our troops and our people!!

    Lol
It was the left that was against that ear and it was the left that finally stopped it.
It was the right that made Vietnam vets feel unwelcome on VFWs and American Legions for being druggies and losers

Less than 2 % supported that war enough to volunteer for a 2nd tour even though 80 %, were in support roles
30% heroin use in some units
1000+ fraggings of officers about 20% of all officers killed

    Those are official Pentagon numbers

    • drowningpuppies says:

So johnnie boy, were you one of those druggie losers?

Lyndon B. Johnson was the president for most of the Vietnam War, particularly during its escalation from 1964 to 1968, while Congress was controlled by the Democratic Party during this period.

  4. Alias says:

The highest recorded temp ever in Vietnam is 110 F. Just recently set. What else was he being untruthful about?

    • drowningpuppies says:

Guess Bob was estimating since he probably didn’t carry a thermometer with him.

      • Alias says:

        No
        I wasn’t
I had all the inside cartridge on the left knee removed right after high school hockey injury then in college got 2 years
However I did them go and spend 18 months in SE Asia. Non uniformed except for some time working for CASI in Laos. I also spent 8 months 76/77 in Afghanistan and Pakistans FATA. A pretty interesting life.As for LBJ of course he was militarily on the right wing a stain h anti communist and left on domestic issues.
        And you sir ?

      • Alias says:

Probably estimated the water depth also
        Were you actually with.?

You know you are such a POS that I mostly ignore you. Stupid can’t be trained. But when you start dribbling bull shit about Vietnam I can’t resist.

First, the war was about stopping China’s expansion. Read SEATO. In that respect it was a success.

And it was the communists controlling the idiots in the US that lost it. Here, in he words of Bu Tin, the North Vietnamese officer who finally saw the light and left. From the intrview.

” Question: How did Hanoi intend to defeat the Americans?

Answer: By fighting a long war which would break their will to help South Vietnam. Ho Chi Minh said,
“We don’t need to win military victories, we only need to hit them until they give up and get out.”

Q: Was the American antiwar movement important to Hanoi’s victory?

A: It was essential to our strategy. Support of the war from our rear was completely secure while the American rear was vulnerable. Every day our leadership would listen to world news over the radio at 9 a.m. to follow the growth of the American antiwar movement. Visits to Hanoi by people like Jane Fonda, and former Attorney General Ramsey Clark and ministers gave us confidence that we should hold on in the face of battlefield reverses. We were elated when Jane Fonda, wearing a red Vietnamese dress, said at a press conference that she was ashamed of American actions in the war and that she would struggle along with us.

Q: Did the Politburo pay attention to these visits?
    A: Keenly.

The really sad part about this is that it taught the Muslim’s what do. Just look at how badly Trump is fucking up to appease the current group of traitors in the congress, media, et al.

So it was my war and my friends names engraved in stone.

Fuck off asshole. And please leave the US. We don’t trash like you.

Jimmi you really do seem to be emotionally triggered!
Vietnam and China have been enemies for 1000sof years. The better way to constrain China would to have allied with Vietnam early.
Cut the Ho Chi Minh trail? The American people would never have accepted invading another country after we had pledged not to do that. The Vietnamese had been fighting for decades. Against the y French in the 30s the Japanese in the 40s and French until 1954 when the armistice/surrender promised free elections which the Saigon puppet government refused to hold. The Saigon government were the French Catholic collaborators who fled Hanoi after the French lost military.
The Vietnamese like the Afghans would not accept foreign armies occupying their country
Jimmi the French wanted to keep Indochina as a colony do it could be robbed economically.

Would you allow a foreign country to do that to your country ? Why would you expect other countries to accept that ? Have you ever been there? I have

        • James Lewis says:

China hated North Vietnam so much they smuggled supplies into it.

You continue to demonstrate your ignorance.

There are several other countries over there besides Red China and Vietnam.

Again. The war was about stopping Red China from expanding.

The various wars, etc., that had been fought, was being fought, etc, had nothing to do with the stop Red China objective.

If you traitors had been rightfully hanged we would not have had to invade. The war would have been over in ’68.

“Q: How could the Americans have won the war?
A: Cut the Ho Chi Minh trail inside Laos. If Johnson had granted [Gen. William] Westmoreland’s requests to enter Laos and block the Ho Chi Minh trail, Hanoi could not have won the war.

          Q: Anything else?
A: Train South Vietnam’s generals. The junior South Vietnamese officers were good, competent and courageous, but the commanding general officers were inept.

Q: Did Hanoi expect that the National Liberation Front would win power in South Vietnam?
A: No. Gen. [Vo Nguyen] Giap [commander of the North Vietnamese army] believed that guerrilla warfare was important but not sufficient for victory. Regular military divisions with artillery and armor would be needed. The Chinese believed in fighting only with guerrillas, but we had a different approach. The Chinese were reluctant to help us. Soviet aid made the war possible. Le Duan [secretary general of the Vietnamese Communist Party] once told Mao Tse-tung that if you help us, we are sure to win; if you don’t, we will still win, but we will have to sacrifice one or two million more soldiers to do so…….By attacking all South Vietnam’s major cities, we would spread out our forces and neutralize the impact of American firepower. Attacking on a broad front, we would lose some battles but win others. We used local forces nearby each target to frustrate discovery of our plans. Small teams, like the one which attacked the U.S. Embassy in Saigon, would be sufficient. It was a guerrilla strategy of hit-and-run raids. [lloks like a re-writing of history with the benefit of hindsight]

          Q: What about the results?
A: Our losses were staggering and a complete surprise;. Giap later told me that Tet had been a military defeat, though we had gained the planned political advantages when Johnson agreed to negotiate and did not run for re-election. The second and third waves in May and September were, in retrospect, mistakes. Our forces in the South were nearly wiped out by all the fighting in 1968. It took us until 1971 to re-establish our presence, but we had to use North Vietnamese troops as local guerrillas. If the American forces had not begun to withdraw under Nixon in 1969, they could have punished us severely. We suffered badly in 1969 and 1970 as it was.”

You know nothing about the war.

BTW – We are being invaded NOW by the Leftie’s troupes from 3Rd World countries.

  6. Elwood P. Dowd says:

Japan occupied French Vietnam during the war. A communist revolutionary named Ho Chi Minh formed a resistance group called the Viet Minh to fight for independence.

After Japan surrendered in 1945, Ho Chi Minh declared Vietnam independent. France tried to retake the colony, but the communist Viet Minh defeated the French in 1954. International diplomats split Vietnam along the 17th parallel into North Vietnam (ruled by communists) and South Vietnam (backed by the West).

The peace agreement planned for nationwide reunification elections in 1956, but South Vietnam’s government refused to hold them out of fear that the communists would win. The United States feared that if Vietnam fell to communism, other Southeast Asian countries would follow (domino theory). The U.S. began sending money, weapons, and military advisors to support South Vietnam .

Truman began U.S. financial and military aid in 1950 by sending advisors to support French colonial forces against communist rebels.

Eisenhower sent covert CIA operatives and military advisors after the French withdrew in 1954.

JFK increased the number of American military advisors from under 700 to more than 16,000 Special Forces personnel. On November 1, 1963, President Di?m of South Vietnam was assassinated by a group of CIA-backed Army of the Republic of Vietnam officers who disagreed with Di?m’s handling of the Buddhist crisis (Di?m was Catholic and repressed Buddhists).

LBJ escalated the conflict into a full-scale war by deploying hundreds of thousands of combat troops following the overwhelming passage of Gulf of Tonkin Resolution in 1964 (414-0 in the House; 88-2 in Senate).

Nixon inherited the war, expanded bombing campaigns, and ultimately signed the Paris Peace Accords in 1973 to end direct U.S. military participation.

Over 58,000 Americans died in Vietnam (including friends and family). In many cases the returning troops were treated horribly by so-called Americans.

In the end, the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam is one of five communist nations (China, Cuba, N Korea, Laos) extant.

  7. david7134 says:

    John,
Some of us were alive and knew the history first hand.
LBJ was a first class piece of shit. He was actively making money off the war with Lonestar ammunition and Bell helicopter.

Ever heard of the SDS, they were trying to kill us while we trained. The left were the ones spitting on the soldiers. Here in the South soldiers were treated with honor.

Kennedy was a POS as well.

The best way to win the war would have been to bomb and mine the harbors and cut the trail, the public would have supported Invading the North would have worked. After all the death and money the Dems would not lift a finger to help the South at the end, a shameful blot of the many they have accumulated.

    • david7134 says:

Oh, support for the war. I witnessed a flag ceremony at LSU. The SDS, about 50, matched out to take down and burn the flag, but stopped and withdrew. The news said they showed respect. But what was not shown were 5000 ag student on the other side with bats, waiting. Typical news report back then.
