Katrina Survivors Link Reproductive Rights With ‘Climate Change’ Or Something

How many times have I written that ‘climate change’ is really all about Leftist politics, being a subset of the overall Progressive/Socialist/Marxist/Whatever push? And that the Cult of Climastrology will link just about any issue with their cultish beliefs? Well, the abortionistas do this, as well, and we end up with this bit of bat-shit insane writing by Jeremy Deaton (it’s always interesting that Leftist men push abortion on demand harder than the women, eh?)

From the unhinged screed

Katrina, they say, wasn’t an anomaly, but an introduction.

One of the lessons from the storm was that women are at greater risk than men in times of crisis. To prepare for the next Katrina, advocates say, the government must provide more protection for women, including higher wages, more affordable housing and better access to health care — including contraception and abortion which are disproportionately used by cis women.

“This is not just about recovering from Katrina. This is about building a system of recovery for what we know is coming,” said Colette Pichon Battle, executive director of the Gulf Coast Center for Law and Policy at a town hall Wednesday on protecting women from natural disasters. The event was part of the Freedom to Breathe Tour, which is bringing together experts and advocates in cities across the South and West for conversations about climate change and social justice.

“We cannot address climate change as solely an environmental problem,” said Michele Erenberg, executive director of Lift Louisiana, at the town hall. “It is also a human rights imperative, and thus, a women’s rights imperative.” Speakers noted that New Orleans is exquisitely vulnerable to severe storms. This is partly a function of geography — most of the city sits below sea level, making it prone to flooding — but it is also a function of inequality, a matter of who can afford shelter and health care. (snip)

On the link between climate change and reproductive rights, Erenberg said, “These movements share a common concern about the health of families and communities, and both recognize the right of all people to reproductive health, including the right of all women to have healthy pregnancies and to raise their children in safe and healthy environments.”

If you’re thinking the rest is just as insane, you’re correct. It is.

And the most interesting thing of this is the reality that they’re calling for reduction of black children through contraception and abortion. It’s almost like the Cult of Climastrology is rather racist and hateful towards blacks, since we see the same thing aimed at Africa in terms of making sure the women have access to abortions and contraception there.

‘Climate Change’ Takes A Toll On Our Minds Or Something

Further proof that cults inflict psychological damage to those who are members (first photo from story)

Climate change takes a toll on our minds, too

Psychologist Susie Burke tells the story of a woman who came to her for counselling after having her first child. Not because she was suffering from post-natal depression, but because she was “struggling with the enormity of what she had done.” She felt she had brought her child into a “world she knew was going to be a lot harsher and a lot less safe,” Burke told DW.

“She came to me when she was overwhelmed by this distress; questioning whether she had done the right thing. The fear she had for his future was really huge.”

Burke is an Australian psychologist and academic who specializes in eco-psychology. She treats people suffering mental illness as a result of climate change, and also recently set up a free hotline called the “Climate Change Psychological Support Network,” where Australians can call a qualified psychologist to talk through their feelings about environmental change.

“One of the very first things people need to do to engage properly with climate change is to acknowledge how they feel about it and talk about it,” Burke said.

The first thing they should be counseled to do is to give up fossil fuels, most trappings of 21st Century life, and make their lives carbon neutral while giving the majority of their money, and freedom, to government.

But as the emerging field of eco-psychology is revealing, climate change is taking a significant toll on our mental health too.

“For people who are hearing and paying attention to what is happening to the climate, it is a huge weight and anxiety and fear,” Burke said.

Having worked in the field for the past two decades, the psychologist describes observing people with “anxiety and depression, flat moods, helplessness and hopelessness, and anger,” as well as “guilt and shame.”

She said this latter feeling is common among people who might not have endured direct trauma and loss as a result of climate change, but who experience vicarious distress and are conscious of their part in the problem.

“They’re aware these things are happening and it’s not directly impacting them, but they know it’s going to have a bigger impact on their children in the future or people in other parts of the world.”

The further into the article you get, the nuttier it gets. One last excerpt

But it isn’t only those in the front line of environmental change who experience profound emotional responses and mental health impacts. For many people it is daunting to grasp the full implications of climate change, including coming to terms with their own role in it and how they can help as individuals.

Whether or not people are experiencing or observing firsthand rapid environmental changes, Cunsolo speaks of a “pervasive sense of dread and doom and anxiety.”

These people really are nuts.

American Bar Association Rates Brett Kavanaugh As ” Well Qualified”

Virtually every Democrat hardest hit. Here’s Excitable Kamala Harris, who also has an anti-Kavanaugh tweet pinned

And here’s the ABA

(Daily Caller) The American Bar Association’s (ABA) standing committee on the judiciary released its evaluation of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh Friday, awarding him a unanimous “well-qualified” rating.

The ABA panel issues its evaluation based on a variety of measures including integrity, professional competence and judicial temperament.

“The committee’s objective is to provide impartial peer evaluations of the professional qualifications of judicial nominees in order to assist the Senate Judiciary Committee in assessing whether such individuals should be confirmed by the Senate,” an ABA memo detailing the process reads.

The committee’s internal vetting procedures are wide-ranging and rigorous. Law professors are invited to review a candidate’s body of written work product, under the direction of a dean or a senior professor, while other committee members interview lawyers and judges who practice with the candidate.

The “well-qualified” rating is the highest score the ABA attaches to a nominee. Justice Neil Gorsuch, President Donald Trump’s first nominee to the high court, also received a “well-qualified” score.

Of course, about the only thing the Democrats really care about is abortion on demand

But, then, they pretty much do this with every Republican president nominee for the Supreme Court.

Gang Nancy Pelosi Says Are Not Animals Turned California Farm Town Into Base Of Operations

Remember this from May?

House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi responded to President Trump calling violent MS-13 gang members “animals,” at her weekly press briefing Thursday morning. Pelosi says Trump’s comments as reported are a new low, and make her wonder if the president believes “we are all God’s children” or not.

“When the president of the United States says about undocumented immigrants, ‘these are not people, these are animals,’ you have to wonder, does he not believe in the spark of divinity? In the dignity and worth of every person? ‘These are not people, these are animals,’ from the president of the United States.”

Well, just a few hundred miles from Nancy’s congressional district

MS-13 gang used California farm town as a base for crime

More than two dozen MS-13 gang members and affiliates were arrested and charged following a monthslong murder and drug trafficking investigation centered on a rural California farm city that the gang turned into a base for its operations, U.S. and state prosecutors said Friday.

MS-13 took advantage of limited resources in the city of Mendota and used it and other areas of Fresno County to “conduct their crimes, to hide out from crimes that they committed in other jurisdictions and to prepare to commit crimes in states as far away as New York,” Fresno County District Attorney Lisa Smittcamp said at a news conference in Fresno with state and federal officials.

MS-13 is linked to more than 12 murders in Mendota and western Fresno County over the past two years, said McGregor Scott, the U.S. attorney in Sacramento. The federal charges announced Friday include allegations that two MS-13 gang members kidnapped and murdered a Fresno County man in December.

Scott said the investigation — dubbed “Blue Inferno” — uncovered evidence tying the gang to at least 30 murders and assaults in Mendota, Los Angles, Las Vegas, New York City and Houston. The evidence has prompted additional prosecutions in other cities, he said.

“This is a good day,” he said. “An extremely violent street gang which has terrorized western Fresno County has been completely dismantled and several murders and violent crimes across the nation have been resolved in a resounding way,” he said.

But, we aren’t supposed to refer to these violent murderers and such as animals.

Other federal charges stemming from the investigation of MS-13 in Fresno County accuse three gang members of stabbing a rival gang member in the back at a Mendota intersection in August. In May, three MS-13 members attacked a man walking near an elementary school in Mendota, beating him with a metal pipe, according to U.S. prosecutors.

And there are plenty of other charges, including drug trafficking. But, not animals.

Exxon To NY: Put Up Or Shut Up

I’m betting on Exxon’s lawyers

Exxon Tells New York to ‘Put Up Or Shut Up’ in Climate Probe

Exxon Mobil Corp. told a judge that New York’s attorney general should either sue the company for misleading investors about the financial impact of climate change, or close its probe and move on.

“They should put up or shut up,” Exxon’s lawyer, Theodore Wells, said at a hearing Wednesday in New York state court in Manhattan. “We are ready to confront any complaint.”

The remark was part of a heated exchange between lawyers for Exxon and New York Attorney General Barbara Underwood about the production of internal corporate documents sought by the state, pertaining to a variety of exploration and chemical projects. New York argues there’s evidence that Exxon for years used two sets of numbers — one public, one private — to calculate the future financial impact of climate change, with investors given the rosier figures.

“This cannot go on interminably,” Justice Barry Ostrager told the attorney general’s lawyers at the start of the hearing. “You’ve been investigating for two years, so either you’re going to file a case, or you’re not going to file a case.”

“We are coming to an end in our investigation,” Manisha Sheth, a top lawyer for Underwood’s office, responded. Underwood’s office has repeatedly argued that Exxon’s tactics have delayed the probe.

It’s almost like New York’s AG office believes that justice works as guilty till proven innocent, and that entities are not allowed to defend themselves.

There’s “smoking gun” evidence, Sheth said, that justifies the continued digging for Exxon documents before a decision is made on whether to sue. She said there’s evidence suggesting former Exxon Chief Executive Officer Rex Tillerson was aware of the discrepancy in the so-called proxy cost numbers, and that he “seemed happy” with it.

Sounds like a fishing expedition premised on a public servant having already made their mind up. Exxon should start pulling all their operations out of NY, and definately refuse to sell to any state government departments.

Rep Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz) Threatens Immigration Officials For Doing Their Jobs

He can pretty much say what he wants, as Arizona’s 7th district, which includes Phoenix, is a super safe Dem stronghold, and it appears as if there isn’t even a Republican running this election cycle

(Washington Examiner) A House Democrat on Thursday warned immigration agents who have carried out federal laws and directives from President Trump they will “not be safe” when his party is back in control.

“If you are a US government official and you are deporting Americans be warned. When the worm turns you will not be safe because you were just following orders. You do not have to take part in illegal acts ordered by this President’s administration,” Rep. Ruben Gallego, D-Ariz., wrote on his personal Twitter account.

The initial message did not specify what kind of consequences U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement personnel would face.

The progressive lawmaker’s tweet was in response to MSNBC host Chris Hayes’ statement regarding a Washington Post report that the State Department had denied passports to American Latinos believed to have fake birth certificates. The State Department shot back and said these incidents have declined under Trump.

Gallego’s office issued a follow-up statement to the Washington Examiner that stated federal employees “who violate the law or the Constitution will not be immune to legal consequences.”

Funny how Gallego wasn’t worried before

He might want to think hard about threatening federal law enforcement and sitting federal judges.

Al Gore And His Giant Carbon Footprint Want Trump To Resign Over ‘Climate Change’

Trump’s policies must be hitting Manbearpig in the wallet, so, he gets repetitive

Heading to The Hill

Former Vice President Al Gore on Wednesday reiterated his call that President Trump should resign.

“My only message would be resign,” Gore, an environmental activist, told Fox 11 Los Angeles during an interview about climate change. Gore’s remarks came in response to a question about what he would say to the president.

“I think everyone knows to discount what this current administration is doing and saying. They’ve made the EPA the CPA — the Coal Production Agency — instead of protecting the environment,” he said, referring to the Environmental Protection Agency.

The comments come a little more than a year after Gore told LADbible that, if he could give Trump one piece of advice, he would tell him to resign.

Gore also said last year that Trump’s attitude toward climate change had sparked an unprecedented wave of pro-climate activism.

He should go join Hillary on her long walks in the woods. Take long fossil fueled flights on private jets. Or, hey, perhaps he can sell a business venture to another country whose whole economy is based on fossil fuels.
