No tiger blood needed
Do you get the sense that Michele Bachmann is under attack by the press? I do.
And Rep. Bachmann is winning the fight.
Actually, I think she has won this war, as the big negative stories from the media have mostly dried up, as they were looking really, really, really bad. And sexist. Of course, they will start a new war again in a few months.
Whenever the press spotlights one of her stumbles at the microphone the Minnesota congresswoman gets a flood of support and money. She becomes ‘Every Woman,’ a misunderstood Tea Party mother of five facing down an elitist, arrogant, Obama-leaning press corps.
You do have to love the way she handles the press when she makes a mistake, basically saying “hey, anyone can make a mistake” rather than deflecting away. But, Juan then degenerates into unhinged liberalism
Yes, it is easy for reporters to make fun of such a big flub. But the press is missing a bigger story.
The problem with Bachmann’s candidacy is not the gaffes she makes or her many misstatements about American history. The bigger issue is her extreme right-wing views and where she would take the country if she were elected president.
And what does Juan have to offer? She’s against gay marriage. Hey, Juan, so is Mr. Obama. She’s against AmeriCorps. Woop-de-doo. And she’s opposed to the minimum wage. That’s it, Juan? That’s all you have?
She’s considered “extreme” because she believes in the Constitution, believes in a limited federal government, low taxation, the private sector, less government intrusion in our lives, and the primacy of the individual. And she’s a Christian. I’ll be honest, some of her views are a bit too involved with Social Conservatism, which I did not like when Bush did it. But, I’ll place the good over the bad, and say she would make an awesome president for Conservatives and America. Which is why folks like Juan are concerned.
