Calls for raping and killing Jewish students at Cornell bring police response, condemnation
Anti-Semitic threats posted to a Cornell University fraternity and sorority forum over the weekend, including to kill Jews on campus, have prompted a police response and intervention by the governor of New York.
At least one of the posts threatened a shooting of “pig jews” (sic) at Cornell’s Center for Jewish Living and kosher dining hall, according to the university’s Hillel chapter.
The postings are the latest in a series of incidents on college campuses across the nation since the start of the Israel-Hamas war, which followed the terrorist attacks on Oct. 7 that killed more than 1,400 people in Israel and resulted in more than 220 being kidnapped by Hamas and brought to the Gaza Strip.
“Earlier today, a series of horrendous, antisemitic messages threatening violence to our Jewish community and specifically naming 104 West — the home of the Center for Jewish Living — was posted on a website unaffiliated with Cornell,” Cornell President Martha E. Pollack said in a statement Sunday.
Pollack said the FBI had been informed of a potential hate crime, and that the Cornell University Police Department would remain at the Center for Jewish Living to ensure the safety of community members.
Such is the reality for Jews in America, as has been taught in America’s universities. Over the years it went for light-hearted support of Palesinians, wanting to be cool with their protests, to hatred of Israel and Jews. What did they think the whole BDS (boycott, disinvestment, and sanction) movement would lead to? Now college kids look and sound like Nazis and KKK members.
The threats were posted to Cornell’s Greekrank forums on Saturday and Sunday, according to the school newspaper, the Cornell Sun, which said some of the posts eventually were taken down.
The Sun said one post threatened to rape female Jewish students and behead Jewish babies in front of their parents. Another called for students to follow Jewish students home from campus and slit their throats.
Of course, all the previous Jew hatred hasn’t brought much of any condemnation from the school. If calls had been about wiping out Muslims in Gaza and replacing it with a Jewish state those students would have been booted from school already.
“We will not tolerate threats or antisemitism or any kind of hatred that makes people feel vulnerable and exposes people and makes them feel insecure in a place where they should be enjoying their campus life, without fear that someone could cause them harm,” Hochul said.
If the perpetrators are found, she added, “They will be prosecuted. That is the message people across the state need to hear loud and clear. There will be no tolerance here in the State of New York.”
It’s sad that I have to wonder if NY Gov Kathy Hochul is saying this because those people are horrible, or because there are a lot of Jews in the state of NY who vote Democrat and donate a lot of money. Anyhow, free speech ends when one calls for violence and criminality, and whomever sent out those messages should have their names posted, be kicked out of Cornell, and potentially be prosecuted.
“Racism” and “anti-semitism” are just sticks to beat non-jewish white people with. The rest of the world is immune to it. Just like China and India are immune to climate change.
The whole thing could be settled by simply painting white lives don’t matter along the streets of major Democrat run cities. It’s not just China and India who are immune to climate change it’s every non white country on the globe. Have you seen these places? They’re so bad they almost look like a Democrat run city.

College students are not exactly famed for their maturity, but Cornell, an Ivy League school with an acceptance rate of just 8.7% ought to have a student body that is a little more intelligent than average. Alas! Even with a higher-than-average intelligence rate, there will always be some at the low end of the spectrum.

Mike Rosenberg was a year ahead of me in high school, and at the time I had no real knowledge of Judaism, and it never occurred to me, in small-town, heavily Christian Mt Sterling, that Rosenberg was a typically Jewish name.
It wasn’t until I got to the University of Kentucky and saw Mr Rosenberg in his fraternity jersey that I figured it out. At least at the time, at UK, fraternity brothers had these jerseys made for themselves, with their Greek letters on the front, their names across the back, with an athletic number below their names. But in Mike’s case, rather than a number he had a Star of David.

But at UK, in the early 1970s, such was no big deal, or at least it wasn’t a big enough deal that Mike was afraid to get a Star of David logo on his jersey, or afraid to wear it, and I would guess — I don’t actually know — that his fraternity brothers had no problems with him being Jewish.
I’m trying to picture Mike wearing that jersey on a college campus today.
