Good News: Diesel Supply Down To 25 Days

Well, enough of you decided to vote for the abortion party and got fooled by the “we’ll lose our democracy!!!!!” schtick, and, y’all just need to suck it up and deal with the escalating prices. Good job, idiots

The US has just 25 days of diesel supply — the lowest since 2008. Here’s why that’s more alarming than a dwindling ‘oil piggy bank’

Biden Brain SlugThe U.S. is facing a diesel crunch just as demand is surging ahead of winter — with only 25 days of supply left, according to the Energy Information Administration.

National Economic Council Director Brian Deese told Bloomberg TV that diesel inventories are “unacceptably low” and “all options are on the table” to bolster supply and reduce prices.

However, even as the stockpiles are being drained, the Biden administration seems to be left with very few sustainable options for long-term relief.

Unlike gas and jet fuel, demand for diesel recovered at a much faster pace from the pandemic. Diesel is used for transporting goods as well as powering construction, farming and military vehicles and equipment. (snip)

The market usually moves into “contango” — the opposite of backwardation, where demand is lower and suppliers build up inventory with the expectation of higher future prices — in the summer. However, strong domestic and international demand, shrinking domestic refining capacity and sanctions on Russian petroleum imports have kept the diesel market tight throughout the year.

So, what can be done?

If diesel inventory continues to run down without the government intervening, the impact on transportation costs for goods could drive inflation up even further.

Deese adds that the Fed has some tools to bolster diesel supply, like the Northeast Home Heating Oil Reserve, which houses one million barrels of diesel in case of a disruption in supplies.

So, digging into emergency reserves?

Experts have also pointed out that the current 25.8 days worth of diesel only represents what’s in storage — and doesn’t factor in the amount of distillate fuel being produced in the U.S. or imported here. Which means the country isn’t guaranteed to run out of diesel within a month.

But The Washington Post reports that diesel demand is so high, that if a million barrels of diesel were delivered from the Northeast reserves, they would be depleted in less than six hours.

It’s a little late, but, the government could authorize more refineries to be built. That would help. But, they idiot lefties have been destroying refining capacity for decades.

America voted for this shit show. Two districts surrounding Seattle which is collapsing under violence and homelessness votes to FLIP TWO GOP DISTRICTS BLUE by a point each in this election.

Most likely 215-220 in the House for the GOP as most of the MSM has called the race for the House for the GOP. The freedom caucus of Greene, Boebert, Gaetz and Jordan and a couple others matter. The GOP lost 3 governorships which is not surprising given two were in heavy, heavy DEM states in the east. Arizona was terrified of LAKE while Hobbs did no campaigning at all because she knew the democratic machine would give her the win.

I am a States righter. As most of Arizona is red in the house, blue in the senate and now blue in the governorship. They voted for this. Its their bed. This is what they wanted.

The one I am seriously going to watch is ALASKA who voted for a DEM REP. In case you don’t know how Alaska works now. Anyone can run, with certain rules in place. Hence they had one democrat, 2 Republicans, 2 others. AS the vote comes in the person with the least votes get their votes split among the rest. And so on until there are two people left. In this case the Democrat won because they ran against 4 republicans. LOLOLOL. But to be fair the DEM did get about 42 percent of the vote initially(before they were gifted other peoples Republican votes) which was more than any of the GOP individually could muster.

Anyway Alaska chose this mode of election claiming the person that represents them gets their votes from everyone not just a party. In theory it sounds good so the DEM won, lets see if she/he….VOTES 99.9 percent with the Democrats in the House instead of for Alaska’s needs first.

So keep an eye on Alaska’s senator and House member in voting the next two years. If they do in fact show themselves to be beholden to the voters of the state perhaps it is a blueprint for other states to follow, but somehow I doubt a democrat going to DC can withstand the DNC and conversely the GOP going to DC can withstand the RNC.

It does look like a whole bunch of Alaskan Democrats voted for Murkowski to save her. It will be good to see the last of her. Republican party has enough problems without back-stabers.

Teach. Oil company profits are at all time highs, why would they want to reduce profits and shortages?
The diesel shortage isn’t caused by a change in supply but by increase in demand as economy is roaring and diesel demand going up in spite of mandated increases in fuel effiencency
Since it takes YEARS to build a refinery is this something you blame Trump for not doing ?

Teach typed: y’all just need to suck it up and deal with the escalating prices. Good job, idiots

LOFL. Blame St Donald not the millions of America people who turned out to vote.

Inflation, gasoline and diesel, Ukraine, low approval of Biden – and yet the Red Tsunami turned into a Pink Tinkle. Connies had such a hard-on for MAGAtism and owning the libs that they ignored America. Connies underestimated the American people. E.D. MAGAt lunatics like Bolduc, Oz, Lake, Finchem, Mastriano, Dixon, Gibbs, Masters and on and on were rejected, bigly. Many were trump disciples who were SUPPORTED by the DNC in the primaries.

Even in the face of red state by red state voter suppression the American people showed up and said no to hate and authoritarianism.

Teach has finally said NO to tRump. For now. As we know, nuCons can change on a dime depending on how the wind blows. tRump does not care about you, America or the American people, he cares about tRump. He hopes that announcing will slow the myriad prosecutions.

For all the signs that tRump was/is the worst person ever to be honored with the US Presidency, nuCons did not question his actions until he caused them to lose power, bigly. For now.

This mid-term was a big setback for the MAGAt movement to install anti-democracy, Election Denying Secretaries of State, Governors and AGs.

      .

I have heard this argument before. The facts though point to different solutions. First, even if Biden lifted the government boot heel, it’s unlikely that any refineries would be built here. Ever. it’s just too expensive. If anything, they would be built in Mexico and the crude we import from them would get refined there and shipped here are refined product. Even when oil companies could make changes, they deliberately shut down older and less efficient refineries and increased capacity and a smaller number, resulting in the same total output. But the wave of the future is to import it all, just like we import food, cars, and happy meal toys. Finally, Refineries, if they could, would operate at 0 or 1 days of supply on hand and deliver fuels right from the tap to the retailer with no storage costs. Lower storage costs = profits.
