St. Greta Is Unhappy With High Flying John Kerry

Does St. Greta know that John Kerry was in Vietnam? Hey, and just wondering what science degrees either of them hold?

Greta Thunberg blasts John Kerry over global warming statement

Environmental activist (say what? She rarely speaks of the real environment, just doom from a slight increase in temperatures) Greta Thunberg is speaking out against John Kerry, after an interview in which the U.S. climate envoy expressed optimism that technological advances will help reduce emissions and people won’t have to change certain behaviors to achieve some climate goals.

In a Sunday interview with the BBC, Kerry said technology that has yet to be invented will most likely play a large role in combating climate change — and people won’t have to “give up a quality of life to achieve some of the things we want to achieve.”

“I am told by scientists, not by anybody in politics but by scientists, that 50% of the reductions we have to make to get to net zero by 2050 or 2045, as soon as we can, 50 percent of those reductions are going to come from technologies that we don’t yet have,” Kerry said.

“That’s just a reality,” he added. “And people who are realistic about this understand that’s part of the challenge.”

Thunberg took offense to Kerry’s implication that people do not have to change their lifestyles or consumption habits to help fight climate change.

“50% of the carbon reductions needed to get to net zero will come from technologies that have not yet been invented”

Great news! I spoke to Harry Potter and he said he will team up with Gandalf, Sherlock Holmes & The Avengers and get started right away!

What has St. Greta given up, besides an education? And getting other mushy minded cultists to blow off school days? What we’re seeing here are the doomsday climate cultists, who believe in Government power, admitting that people will, in fact, have to give up their quality of modern life, will have to give lots of things up, and, if they won’t voluntarily, they will be forced.

Well, of course the distinguished Mr Kerry said that:

Kerry said technology that has yet to be invented will most likely play a large role in combating climate change — and people won’t have to “give up a quality of life to achieve some of the things we want to achieve.”

He said that because, like all liberals, he doesn’t want to tell the truth!

Who knows, maybe something wholly unexpected will be developed which will generate completely clean energy in a form which can replace the 63.5% of our electricity currently provided by burning fossil fuels, along with adding a 40% increase in our generating capacity to power all of those plug in electric vehicles. Perhaps engineers will develop an automobile battery pack that lasts 20 years and can take a vehicle the 660 miles a full tank of fuel will take my 2010 Ford F-150. Perhaps a rapid charging system will be developed which can recharge your Chevy Dolt Bolt in 7.5 minutes rather than 75.

But, what if that doesn’t happen? If that doesn’t happen, then the only way to achieve the CO2 emissions reductions the warmunists want to impose on us is through a drastic curtailment of our quality of life. Even now, despite the honorable Mr Kerry’s optimistic statements, the warmunists are proposing regulations which would dramatically impact our quality of life, and do so negatively.

Of course, the warmunists don’t actually say that, do they? Everything will be all skittles-and-beer in our new, zero-emissions economy, because, if they told us the truth about what they want, they’d have exactly 16 adherents.

    Gloom and doom?
No Teach that is your mindset
I fail to see how putting solar on your rooftop gives the government more control.
The USA has been steadily increasing its renewables every year by 1% if this continues at that rate (which assumes little or no tech advancement) we should it 50% by target date 2050
There has been no skyrocketing of electric rates a bit below average rate of inflation your power company has a goal of zero carbon how do you feel about that?

  3. Elwood P. Dowd says:

Teach is outraged that neither Sen John Kerry nor Greta Thunberg have science degrees, but it would be churlish of us to point out that Teach dismisses actual scientists and science regarding global warming. LOL.

We will point out that scientists don’t make policy, that’s the job of politicians. We will also point out that the few scientists who disagree with the scientific consensus on global warming do so for political reasons, not scientific ones.

For the scientifically illiterate amongst us:

The IEA finds that with a global energy transition like the one President Biden envisions, demand for key minerals such as lithium, graphite, nickel and rare-earth metals would explode, rising by 4,200%, 2,500%, 1,900% and 700%, respectively, the world doesn’t have the capacity to meet such demand.
As the IEA observes, albeit in cautious bureaucratese, there are no plans to fund and build the necessary mines and refineries. The supply of ETMs is entirely aspirational. And if it were pursued at the quantities dictated by the goals of the energy transition, the world would face daunting environmental, economic and social challenges, along with geopolitical risks.

Aspirational: An aspirational strategy toward trust contemplates inherent tensions and outright contradictions between what public policy professes and what it actually requires.

That’s great news. Let’s all just wait for climate change to fix itself with magical new technologies that just happen. Call me when you are ready to deliver my free electricity.

Besides the issue of revealing state secrets to an anti-America Iran …

“Kerry conceded a tiny problem with importing millions of solar panels from China, a larger polluter than the rest of the planet combined: many of them are made by slaves. Sending China cash to create more pollution is bad; the “slave labor” thing is much worse. Apparently The Left is only outraged by slavery from the distant past which can be used for political leverage today.”

Mighty big concession for old horse face.
