Climate Czar John Kerry Says Oil Workers Should Learn To Code

John Kerry, whose family owns multiple homes, multiple fossil fueled vehicles, and even their own private jet, and doesn’t seem to be in any hurry to give up his own use of fossil fuels, has some words for oil workers

Senator Cruz, like most of the people losing their jobs, was not amused

(Fox News) Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, ripped Biden climate czar and former Secretary of State John Kerry on “Fox News Primetime” Wednesday over what Cruz described as degrading comments about blue-collar workers whose jobs were abruptly cut when President Biden canceled the Keystone XL Pipeline permit.

At a White House press conference earlier Wednesday, Kerry claimed industrial and energy sector workers are victims of a “false narrative” based in Trump-era economic policy.

“They have been fed the notion that somehow dealing with climate is coming at their expense,” Kerry said. “No, it’s not. What is happening to them is happening because of other market forces are already taking place.”

“It is not a unifying message, and it is not doing the job we should be doing [in] fighting for working men and women in this country,” said Cruz. (snip)

“What an arrogant, out-of-touch statement for a centimillionaire to say,” Cruz shot back. “You know, ‘You little people, you know, I don’t like the choices you’re making, and so your jobs go away,’ as John Kerry said right there. Quelle surprise that the Democratic elites have decided that blue-collar workers, that union members, that men and women with calluses on their hands, they’ve made the wrong choices, in John Kerry’s words.”

“I’ve asked multiple Biden nominees what they would say to the union workers who just lost their jobs because Joe Biden decided they didn’t deserve a job,” Cruz told host Maria Bartiromo. “And essentially nominee after nominee after nominee has said, ‘Well, tough luck.'”

It’s nice when Government decides to destroy jobs for their Beliefs, eh? The same people who do not have to worry about their own jobs, about losing their income and homes and cars. People who live a cushy lifestyle on the taxpayer dime. And we are only entering week two of the China Joe administration.

Let’s also not forget how much of the solar panel industry comes from China.

In Multiple Messages, Biden Warns Beijing Over Expansionism

Aug 03, 2020 · Back in 2015, Maduro publicly accused Biden of fomenting regime change in Venezuela after meeting with leaders of Caribbean countries.

    NOW

Biden To Keep Up Trump’s Venezuela Regime-Change Policy…

There is a tweet by the White house claiming this but since I refuse to endorse Twitter by using them as a news source I’ll let you look it up yourself if your interested.

From VOX…leftist rag……Biden plans to continue many of Trump’s foreign policies — at least for now.
Biden’s team members have already signaled they intend to continue several of Trump’s policies from Venezuela to Ukraine to Israel and even China.

The left in a last desperation move mainly wants to tear down the wall, which will be a huge fail for them in the long run as the GOP becomes the party of Hispanics and blacks. These people are fleeing socialism and authoritarianism and coming to the USA. Let them vote….Not gonna be purdy for the left in the long run as the left becomes the party of leftist FASCISM.

In the last 4 years under Trump the total number of oil and gas extraction workers has fallen from 190000 to 160000 because of automation
Teach don’t you feel a bit silly now implying that this reduction in workers can somehow be blamed on the Dems??? You never fact check but blindly accept what you want to believe

Coal workrr employment is also down sharply under trump
The last new coal electric snt was 10 Yeats ago
The price from a NEW coal plant is significantly bigger than from solar power

Then why haven’t we seen a tremendous number of new solar plants being built? Why haven’t we already converted heavily to solar?

I hope that photo came through; it’s a .png file rather than a .jpg.

That’s the Nesquehoning, Pennsylvania, Solar Park, for which I provided some of the concrete when it was being built. 100 acres of land off US 209 between Jim Thorpe and Nesquehoning, and it can supply enough sparktricity for a whopping 1,450 homes. With a guesstimated population of 3,239, that’s barely enough power for that small, run down borough.

There’s certainly nothing wrong with trying to harness solar energy, but let’s face it: we are nowhere near the point at which we can replace the 62.5% of our electric power generation that comes from fossil fuels with solar and wind power. And as the Biden Administration plans on mandating a transition to plug-in electric vehicles, the demand for electricity will rise dramatically.

  6. American Junta says:

So called “Democrats” (I say so called and use parentheses because we all know they are no longer Democrats but rather fascists) who once were “The Party of the working man” no longer give a rats ass about the working man, the middle class, or even the poor beyond their cult like voting dependability.

We’re through the looking-glass, which means that no form of fiscal malpractice is off the table. these are the good ol’ days. When the foreclosures start, the food banks and flop houses and soup kitchens become our major industries – it will be Mutiny On The Bounty – especially for our leaders (hopefully).

The unholy alliance between media/social media, the deep state and billionaire oligarchs have created a New American Order of fascist dictators who not only control our businesses as they proved by closing those they decided were “non essential”, our jobs which they showed by destroying millions of jobs also deemed non essential and now eliminating thousands in the oil/coal/gas industries, construction industries and many other peripheral areas as well.

The New Fascist Democrats JUST DON’T CARE. Just as they label all conservatives “White supremacists” and Republicans as “Insurrectionists” and legitimate protests as
“sedition”, they consider anyone not in either the Elite Bubble or the “victim” groups expendable both economically and literally.

Their riots, murders and arson are called “mostly peaceful protests” by their media lackeys’ whilst our mostly peaceful protests are called sedition and treason punishable by imprisonment and “reeducation”.

Case in point: Whitmer will finally open up restaurants Feb. 1 but only at 25% capacity and only till 10PM. Now Fauci agrees two masks are better than one. On and on without logic or reason behind any of it. Like poking a stick at a caged animal by a tormented and maladjusted teenager. Then when we riot we’re the bad guys.

We have arrived at a place where dark and disturbed souls rule over us. No matter, the mass of compliant retards would be no better as rulers. God help us please.

Doesn’t Sen Rafi Cruz have a government to overthrow?

Times change and technology marches on…buggy whips, muleskinners, abacus, landline phones, folding road maps, movie theaters, pagers, 45 rpm records, prairie schooners, record players, cathode ray TVs, typewriters, fax machines, cassette tapes, muskets, print media, cigarettes, opium, meth and heroin, camera film, answering machines, pay phones and phonebooths, quill pens, sealing wax, coal mining, bed pans (and cholera), hanging, outhouses, bloodletting and leeches, trephination, witches, ghosts, mindreaders…

How many jobs will the expanding use 3-D printing displace? Assembly line robots? Other automation? Telemedicine? Zoom calls? Telecommunications?

You should get the idea. Times change and so must workers. Or would you rather be a luddite?

Another guy, just like Mr Kerry, who’s got plenty of money himself, not really caring if Other People lose their jobs.

Thing is, the jobs that Messrs Kerry and Dowd so blithely dismiss aren’t jobs being lost because technology and time have passed them by, but jobs that the government is trashing by fiat. The oil from the Canadian tar sands will still be used; it just won’t be transported through the pipeline. Instead, some of it will move via road and rail, pulled by diesel trucks and locomotives, meaning that more CO2 will get pumped into the air than would have been the case otherwise.

Of course, we’ll get less of it to southern refineries; more will get sent to China through the Midrange Pipeline to Vancouver, then by ship overseas. That means less oil to be refined in the United States, by American workers, and more overseas by foreign workers. The jobs will still exist; it’s just some of them will no longer be held by Americans.

      • drowningpuppies says:

        Good points all, Dana.

Except more CO2 getting pumped into the air is NOT a problem.
It’s another mythical leftist talking point that has no basis in scientific fact but I think you know that…

Some thoughts on *learn to code*

The premise seems to be that one can make a living coding and that anyone can do it. Both are false.

Point 1: Let’s get the last one out of the way first. Not everyone can code and, of those who can, only a few will like it. So “anyone can do it” becomes “only a certain subset can do it and an even smaller subset will be any good at it”.

Point 2: For the sake of argument, let’s say that everyone *can* code… your mom, your uncle Sally, even Joe Biden. What sort of pay would one expect for a job which literally anyone can do, including your overseas competitors working remotely? Not great would be the answer.

But we’re talking solar panels you say. That’s different! OK, so yeah, let’s have those pipeline workers forfeit their skilled tradesman’s careers to compete with 15 year old Chinese girls working for a quarter a day—because that’s a really shrewd, 21st century move.

    Damn these people are idiots.

“Keystone will keep gas price low by stopping the export of Canadian oil.” What? Any time there’s less of something, the price usually goes up-which it has. Liberal math, John. The transportation costs will increase because the oil must now move by truck or rail. I know you’re scared of the CO2 molecule-there will be more of them, too, due to the change in transport. Good job, China Joe..

In the clip Mr Kerry said autoworkers who assemble gas powered cars can assemble electric vehicles. Makes sense. He said oil, gas and coal plant workers could learn to build solar and wind installations. Makes sense.

Did he say that oil workers should learn to code? Not in the clip the excitable Russia TEACH cited.

A commenter asked who determines the truth. Facts and evidence, of course.

The recent insurrection where a mob of conservative Americans stormed and ransacked the US Capitol Building, chasing our elected officials into hiding, was based on a conspiracy tale that was not true. It is a fact that Donald J. Trump lost the election. This obvious lie, spawned by tRump and spread by his paid conspirators and ignorant supporters, was eagerly accepted by anti-democracy and pro-nationalist forces ready to overthrow America.

Republicans have been electing men and women who do not respect or even recognize truth. The inmates are on the verge of running the Republican asylum, invited as they were by tRump. Again, he is a symptom of the fecklessness of Republicanism, not the cause. Louie Gohmert has been a House member since 2005. Steve King since 2003. Marjorie Taylor Greene was just elected. David Duke is a registered Republican and a tRump supporter.
