NY Times: If You Support Trump On Impeachment, You’re A Raaaaacist

The only thing that’s truly surprising about this op-ed by Darlena Cuhna is that it took so long. You would have thought it would have come sooner, because devolving to throwing down the raaaaacism card is a default position of the Democratic Party (which works hard to keep minorities, particularly blacks, down in urban area slums). This is the top opinion piece on the web front page

How Florida Republicans Are Talking About Impeachment

A few weeks ago, I sat on a park bench, watching my 11-year-old twins pass a soccer ball and push their friends on a tire swing. I turned to the mother of my daughters’ classmate to talk about the second whistle-blower coming forward about President Trump’s dealings with Ukraine.

“Oh, I don’t care about that,” she said. “I’m just glad he’s standing his ground during this witch hunt.”

I’ve been in this state for almost a decade, yet its politics still surprise me. Fox News tag lines come out of real people’s mouths. “I work hard. I don’t want the government giving my money away to people who don’t,” another mother added.

My acquaintance agreed with her. “It’s one thing to need help, but so many people scam the system. Why should they get away with that? Having kids just for the welfare, using food stamps for steak and beer, finding every excuse not to work, and then I have to carry them with my tax dollars?”

You can see the direction, right?

As the impeachment inquiry marches on, several polls show more American support for impeachment than not. Of course, we learned in 2016 that polls can sometimes mislead, and in this particular case, digging a little shows a deeply partisan divide. While nearly 50 percent of people polled now support impeachment, that number is made up of nearly 85 percent Democrats. Just 12 percent of Republicans support impeachment and upward of 70 percent of Republicans believe the president’s dealings with Ukraine are within typical presidential limits. Most Republicans think he meant to stop corruption and protect American interests, according to a CBS News poll.

Obviously, that is a Problem

With a damning reconstructed phone call transcript, a detailed whistle-blower report, several high-ranking Trump surrogates being subpoenaed and testimonies well underway, how can such a seemingly cut-and-dry issue be read in an oppositional way? With farmers left in the dust, discrimination against pre-existing conditions returning to insurance coverage and taxes rising for millions, how can Republicans continue to support the president?

Simple. They identify with him.

Working-class Republicans in Alachua County see Donald Trump as a white businessman who made a lot of money. They like to think that could be them. The only thing standing in the way of achieving that dream, they tell me, are policies that elevate people of color, immigrants and poor people without health care. My neighbors misidentify what is holding them back, but they don’t want to correctly identify the actual problem — corporations, billionaires, white privilege, late-stage capitalism — because they hope to be part of that world someday. They think they have rightfully earned it.

See? It’s raaaaacism. Along with a smattering of “you’re entitled to your opinion, but, you’re Wrong.” Heck, it’s probably Raaaaacism that people are holding on to those Wrongthink views!

Darlena also managed to work in a dude who just suddenly sat down with her and started talking to her who had few teeth but was against Universal Health Care. That view from the man is probably raaaaacist, too.

Anyhow, here’s Lindsay Graham, because the media is attempting to spin his comments

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), one of President Trump’s most vocal supporters on a variety of issues, said in a recent interview that he is open-minded about supporting impeachment.

“Sure, I mean show me something that is a crime. If you could show me that, you know, Trump actually was engaging in a quid pro quo outside the phone call, that would be very disturbing,” the South Carolina Republican said on “Axios on HBO.”

The so-called whistleblower had zero firsthand knowledge of the call, the readout shows nothing beyond normal international politics, and there was no crime in any form or fashion. Heck, former Obama communications director Jen Psaki admitted that this kind of stuff is the norm, that it happens all the time.

But, if you support Trump, you’re a raaaaacist.

When the person that was actually on the phone with President Trump comes out and says there was NO pressure and NO quid pro quo then there was no pressure, no quid pro quo. This whole thing is exactly as Trump says, a witch hunt.

  2. Elwood P. Dowd says:

When the proper response on the other end is “Thank you for the $400 million, Mr. President, and we look forward to America’s and NATO’s continued support against Russian aggression!”, it may be hard to suss out the truth.

    • Kye says:

No, it’s not hard to “suss out the truth” if you read the transcript, listen to the guy who was ACTUALLY on the phone and don’t walk around with your mind nailed shut.

Fredo, you remind me of the little girls at the Salem witch trials. No evidence needed and none would be believed because all they need do is point and accuse. You and your closed minded anti American fellow travelers have accused Trump of everything from “rape” to “treason” to “quid pro quo” with no proof, no evidence but just accusation after accusation. That’s why you’re downing down hard in 2020. The American people are tired of all your lies and unsubstantiated accusations. They’re tired of re doing the 2016 election every fuking day because you children can’t admit defeat. And they’re tired of having the entire Congress which should be addressing the immigrant problem, the messed up Obamacare dysfunction and the deteriorating infrastructure problem bitching about Trump 24/7/365 for three fukin’ years.

We all understand you want to steal the 2016 election “by any means”and are willing to hurl America into a recession to do it and we won’t forget what you are doing. You want to do to America what your stupid commie policies have done to LA, Detroit, Chicago etc.

Trump 2020 Stop the lefts stupidity.

      • Elwood P. Dowd says:

        Gomer Pyle,

Actually Gomer, the House has passed bill after bill now stalled in the Senate thanks to Moscow Mitch. Trump could push for infrastructure and immigration reform but he’s consumed with himself. Trump could negotiate in good faith, but he knows that would offend his rabid base (guys like Gomer and Goober) and their frothing take no prisoners approach.

The 2016 election is over and Trump became US President. President Obama has left the building. Get over it. But that doesn’t excuse Trump’s crimes and malfeasance.

We all understand you want to defend Trump “by any means”, having so much of your heart, soul and spirit invested in his monarchy. You hate Muslims, he punishes Muslims. You’re terrified of brown immigrants (your “dirt people”), he punishes brown immigrants. You hate liberals, he punishes liberals. You consider abortion murder, he appoints anti-abortion judges. You hate Black people, he disparages Black people. You hate gays/transgendered etc, he punishes them. You hate non-Christians, he punishes non-Christians. You hate America, he is trying to rebuild it in your image.

You want Americans to “let trump be trump” allowing him to do whatever the far-fight wants. Maybe in 10 years or so would allow the US to return to being a Democratic Republic. Maybe not, since citizen participation can be soooo messy.

        • Doom and Gloom says:

          thanks to Moscow Mitch

Actually comical. Elwood is definitely an establishment Democrat.

Hillary Clinton just called Tulsi Gabbart a MOSCOW ASSET. LOLOLOLOLOL.

HRC blames losing to Jill Stein and now the left is terrified of a 3rd party run you know like the one that cost the GOP the Presidency TWICE against Bill Clinton my MOSCOW ROSS PEROT.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL……….the only ones buying this stuff is shills and fanatics which is about 10 percent of both parties. The other 80 percent think your on crack but the one party state doesnt care. Just keep up the work Elwood. Your doing good.

          • Elwood P. Dowd says:

            D&C,

You’re not making sense. Sen Clinton is flat wrong to criticize Rep Gabbart, and Gary Johnson hurt trump more than Jill Stein hurt Clinton.

Hillary is probably upset that Bill has a thing for Rep Gabbart.

    • formwiz says:

When the proper response on the other end is “Thank you for the $1 million, Mr. Vice President”, it may be even harder to suss out the truth.

      • formwiz says:

        s/b billion

        • Elwood P. Dowd says:

          Goober,

          It’s still a lie, Goober.

On the other hand Rapin’ Don held up $400 million in allocated aid to Ukraine in exchange for Ukraine lying about Biden (who still leads trump in the polls).

Understand Goober, if Biden wasn’t in the race, trump would have no interest in “corruption” in Ukraine and you and every American knows it.

          • formwiz says:

Out of Gropin’ Joe’s own mouth?

The only lies are yours, Mortimer, and even they are put there by your troll massas.

who still leads trump in the polls

With the rest of the pack folding like a bad hand (Chlamydia is down by a half), that’s not saying much. And ICYMI even Gropin’ Joe’s lead has disappeared.

Understand Goober, if Biden wasn’t in the race, trump would have no interest in “corruption” in Ukraine and you and every American knows it.

Then why is he also looking in Britain and Oz?

          • Kye says:

Lyin’ Biden leads Trump in the polls set up by Democrat Communist collaborators in the same way Hillary led Trump in the polls in 2018. Right up till he clobbered her in the only poll that counts. When you OWN the news organizations and the tech info companies and the pollsters it’s not hard to design a “poll” that favors your guy. Even if they guy is a corrupt lyin’ pedophile like Sniffin’ Joe.

BTW, when we get a “whistle-blower” or an “informer” we actually know his NAME and we put it out for all to see. Here’s the corrupt collaboration among the leftist anointed. They are dividing up the spoils.

“A former member of the Ukrainian parliament reportedly says Burisma Holdings hired Hunter Biden for protection.

Oleksandr Onyshchenko, a businessman who left Ukraine in 2016, said Burisma’s founder, Mykola Zlochevsky, sought the assistance of Hunter Biden, the son of then-Vice President Joe Biden, at a time when the natural gas company was under intense scrutiny for corruption.

“It was to protect [the company],” Onyshchenko told Reuters on Friday.

Hunter Biden obtained a seat on the company’s board of directors because he was seen as a man with a political clout, influence from his father’s role in the Obama administration, according to people interviewed by the news agency. Joe Biden was doling out assistance to Ukraine as then-President Barack Obama’s point man in the east European country. (RELATED: Nunes: Ukraine Will Sink Biden’s Campaign, Not Trump’s Presidency)

Hunter Biden has admitted that he exercised “poor judgment” in taking a position for which he had no expertise or experience but blames his detractors for believing in a “ridiculous conspiracy.” He claims he knew as much about the subject as anyone on the board and that when he discussed the matter with his father, the elder Biden said, “I hope you know what you’re doing.”

His job ended in April this year after five years of apparently providing advice on legal issues and corporate finance, according to Reuters, which also noted Biden did not visit Ukraine to engage with other board members during his tenure.

Biden reportedly didn’t provide much protection for the company as Ukrainian authorities issued a series of investigations into Zlochevsky for tax fraud and money laundering. Zlochevsky also provided gas exploration licenses to his own company when he was Ukraine’s minister of natural resources, according to Reuters.”

Fredo if you and your party weren’t completely crooked and corrupt you’d be interested in what Hunter was doing, what Hillary did with her “Foundation” and how much Hussein stole so he could leave the presidency and buy a $15 million (2nd)house. But you’re more interested in what venue the G& rents and Trumps (already audited) tax returns for the last 50 years. You’re all scum!

  3. formwiz says:

BTW I see Pelosi Galore showed up in A-stan. What she considers her war.

Are you still against it if she can suss out the truth?

  4. Doom and Gloom says:

You’re not making sense. Sen Clinton is flat wrong to criticize Rep Gabbart, and Gary Johnson hurt trump more than Jill Stein hurt Clinton.

Hillary is probably upset that Bill has a thing for Rep Gabbart.

HRC called Tulsi a russian Asset. Literally.

Hillary Clinton says Tulsi Gabbard is a ‘Russian asset’ groomed to ensure Trump reelection Hillary Clinton said that Rep. Tulsi Gabbard is being groomed by Moscow to run as a third-party spoiler candidate in 2020 to help President Trump win reelection.

Trump defends Gabbard after Clinton claims she’s a Russian asset
“She’s accusing everyone of being a Russian agent,” the president said of his 2016 general election opponent.

    I’m making perfect sense.

  5. Doom and Gloom says:

    @ELWOOD

You cant make this stuff up.

“She’s the favorite of the Russians. They have a bunch of sites and bots and other ways of supporting her so far, and>>>> that’s assuming Jill Stein will give it up because she’s also a Russian asset,”<<<<< Clinton told Plouffe, referring to the 2016 Green Party presidential nominee whose candidacy some Democrats complain contributed to Trump’s victory.
