Northeast Has Snowiest Winter Since 1717

A report from the Overheated Planet

(Daily Caller) This past winter broke tons of low temperature records across the eastern seaboard, but would you have guessed the Northeast just had the snowiest winter since the “Little Ice Age”?

“Looking back through accounts of big snows in New England by the late weather historian David Ludlum, it appears for the eastern areas, this winters snowblitz may have delivered the most snow since perhaps 1717,” wrote seasoned meteorologist Joe D’Aleo with Weatherbell Analytics.

I blame you and your refusal to ride your bike to work and keep your heat set to 55F.

And California had the LEAST snow ever on record.
When their are abrupt weather changes adaptation becomes more difficult
Are these the extreme weather events that were predicted to happen more frequently ?

  2. JGlanton says:

No these are not the voodoo “extreme weather events that were predicted to happen more frequently”.

As your own NOAA, an organization that is no stranger to the cause of advancing AGW hysteria.

According to a new NOAA-sponsored study, natural oceanic and atmospheric patterns are the primary drivers behind California’s ongoing drought. A high pressure ridge off the West Coast (typical of historic droughts) prevailed for three winters, blocking important wet season storms, with ocean surface temperature patterns making such a ridge much more likely.

“It’s important to note that California’s drought, while extreme, is not an uncommon occurrence for the state. In fact, multi-year droughts appear regularly in the state’s climate record, and it’s a safe bet that a similar event will happen again. Thus, preparedness is key,” said Richard Seager, report lead author and professor with Columbia University’s Lamont Doherty Earth Observatory.

” (with)abrupt weather changes adaptation becomes more difficult.” So John, are you saying that early man, tens of thousands of years ago, somehow adapted to changing weather with a much smaller brain and zero technology but it’s too much for us now? What would give you reason to say that?

Falsifying the theory of man-made global warming. Or not.

California? That’s because you fail to understand to difference between weather and climate.

California being hot is the weather. California being dry is political stupidity and running all that water out into the SF Bay. That’ what’s called weather.

The rest of the country setting all time cold and snow records — again — is what’s called “climate.”

And since California has previously been very hot and dry prior to humans living there, you’re really not going to be able to make a case for much except being stupid for living there 🙂

  7. Jeffery says:

The Earth is warming because we’re adding CO2 to the atmosphere. It’s not a difficult concept – even children understand it.

Will there be major supervolcano eruptions to offset the warming? Don’t know.

Will the Sun suddenly cool down and offset the warming? Don’t know.

Will God intervene and reverse the warming with a miracle? Don’t know.

Will a massive asteroid strike the Earth ejecting trillions of tons of dirt and dust into the atmosphere, offsetting the warming? Don’t know.

If the scientists continue to be correct and the Earth continues to warm as predicted, human civilization is in for a rough time.

The only quasi-legitimate argument left is what, if anything, to do about it.

Except for the inconvenient fact the earth hasn’t warmed in over 18 years. Children understand propaganda that they have been spoon fed since infancy. Some adults do as well.
