Obviously, The Solution To “Climate Change” Is Government

But, don’t say this is political issue or something. Here’s, humorously, DJ Jimmy Buff

The Green Life: Government must lead way on climate change

(Opening blather about Doom!)

The fixing requires something we’re lacking right now: Political will. Public acceptance of climate change is high, but nothing changes without governments leading the way because nothing that has needed to happen has ever happened without government making it so. From the end of slavery, the right for women to vote, the Civil Rights Act, the first clean water and air acts to marriage equality, government has said it must be so, and it was. It wasn’t the citizenry that had collectively decided to change — though many were in favor of the aforementioned progress — it was legislated.

Except, it was the citizens who cared. If it’s government forcing their opinions on We The People, then what you’re discussing is an authoritarian government. Which, of course, is part of what the Progressive movement is about: Government dominance, for “your own good”, of course.

There are big forces aligned against the government making changes. Notably, the Koch brothers have funded a group called Americans for Prosperity that has solicited and received the support of dozens of members of Congress on a thing they call the No Climate Tax Pledge, which states that signers “oppose legislation relating to climate change that includes a net increase in government revenue.”

In other words, how Dare!!!!! people use their Constitutionally protected voices. And Warmists wonder why we call them fascists.

In fact, the Warmist cult is dying out. Even those who believe in anthropogenic global warming, er, climate change, or whatever they want to call it, mostly refuse to do anything within their own lives, and more and more people are tired of hearing about all the doom and gloom. When polled, “climate change” typically comes in at the bottom. The latest Gallup poll shows

On the bright side, it’s ticked up 2%. But, still 14 out of 15 issues. Which is sad, considering that real environmental issues are important. Folding “climate change” into the issue damages it.

    Holy Shitake Mushroom, Batman!!!
So many wrongs in that one sentence.
First, just because people agree that the climate changes, does not mean people can do anything about it, for or against. Man puts himself in GOD’s position if he really think he can change Earth’s climate.

Second, Everything can change without the heavy hand of government being involved. IN fact, it is only through regulation that innovation and invention are stifled.

Third, to claim that only the gov’t can accomplish changes is absurd. And it is an insult to every inventor, idea-generator, and innovation created by individuals throughout our history. Gov’t can not create things. Gov’t can not generate. It only stifles and hinders.

Right now, the whole point of Obama’s gov’t is to stifle energy production and stifle energy purchasing, it is to stifle any form of economic growth in order to destroy capitalism and freedoms.

Some people are just too stupid to breathe.

There was huge drop in concern over healthcare. Probably because of growing acceptance of the ACA.

Since you think we should make policy only for the topics that people are most concerned about, we should stop trying to balance the budget. No big whoop.

Is it really so surprising that in a near-depression people are most concerned about jobs and the economy?

25% of Americans think that global warming is grossly over-exaggerated. That corresponds to the percentage who support the Tea Party, that think the Sun revolves around the Earth, that think the Earth is 6000 years old and that think the theory of biological evolution is a hoax.

I see J is reduced to arguing with the “guilt by association” method. Kudos to your debate teacher.

Except, Tea Party candidates win most of the elections they run in.

Or another way to put it, 39% were blaming humans for our changing “warming” world back in 2001, whereas now only 39% still do. Doesn’t sound like too many new believers there.

And this is a poll of “global warming” in the news. Generic polls about what people feel concerned about have “global warming” near the bottom over the last 10 years.
