Oops! ObamaCare Actually Costs More Than Doing Nothing

Seriously, implementing a huge new entitlement program is more expensive than doing nothing? Who would have thought that? The Washington Times has the details (via Hot Air)

Total spending is projected to grow annually by 5.8 percent under Mr. Obama’s Affordable Care Act, according to a 10-year forecast by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services released Thursday. Without the ACA, spending would grow at a slightly slower rate of 5.7 percent annually. …

The federal government is projected to spend 20 percent more onMedicaid, while spending on private health insurance is expected to rise by 9.4 percent. …

“Simply put, this report states the obvious, that Americans have known for more than a year – the $2.6 trillion law only makes the fundamental problem of skyrocketing health care costs worse,” said Sen. Orrin G. Hatch, Utah Republican and ranking member of the Senate Finance Committee.

Of course, putting smart legislation in place that would actually do something to help reduce the growing costs would be silly. We needed another giant boondoggle like ObamaCare!

Know what it costs me to do nothing?!!?

    NOTHING!!!!

ObamaCare would cost me an extra $300-$600 a month for an insurance that I don’t want nor need.

You ain’t seen nothing yet. In about 10 years, medical care will be either more expensive than you can imagine or non-existent.

  3. What, you don’t need your insurance to cover your upcoming hystirechtomy, Capn?

Remember when it was supposed to be about making insurance cheaper and more available? Now they’ve managed to ruin health care and insurance.
