Illegals Cost Texas At Least $250 Million Last Year

Kinda defeats that pr0-illegal aliens talking point that they don’t cost the US taxpayers anything, eh?

Texas spent at least $250 million in the past year for medical care and imprisonment of illegal immigrants and other non-citizens.

The House State Affairs Committee heard testimony in Austin. Lawmakers who convene in January could face a projected $18 billion budget shortfall.

Jerry McGinty, with the Texas Department of Corrections, says prisons last month had 11,766 inmates who are foreign citizens and housing them costs $171 million annually. The federal government reimburses 10 percent.

Rick Allgeyer, with the Health and Human Services Commission, said Wednesday that health care to illegal immigrants cost Texas nearly $100 million.

Oops, sorry, I guess the cost would be more, since the $250 is for imprisonment and for health care for the illegals. Once you throw in cost of law enforcement, schooling, and other services, not to mention the direct cost to the citizens of Texas through robberies, rapes, and murders, among others, I sincerely doubt that their supposed contributions to the USA can in any way approach that costs.

But, hey, Texas, don’t even think about trying to crack down on illegals. Barry and Holder might decide to side with the illegals. Again.

WOW !! Teach 250 million sure is a big number. of course it actually is less than 1/2 of 1% of the state budget there are estimated to be 1.5 million illegals in TX The healthcare cost for the illegals alone works out to let’s see about 8 cents per week per Texan 8 cents per week=$4.00 x25,000,000 Texans equals 100 million dollars And don’t forget that because of this cheap and easily exploited labor, businesses save BIG. Labor unions can easily be pressured to sign contracts for low wages. Texas has always allowed illegal workers to compete in the labor market

So Ryan, how many teachers do you think 250 million dollars can hire?

    How many police? Firemen?

How many streets and roads can be repaired with $250 million dollars a year?

If the labor is so cheap, why are people coming here in droves, Ryan? Why do people want to come here, have “anchor babies” and not only fight deportation, but fight any attempt to enforce immigration laws?

Once again, you show yourself to be the fool on matters like this.

Have you learned that 600 feet is not 5 miles? Have you learned that your truck pollutes?

    Nah.

That would be asking too much.

Somehow I doubt that healthcare to illegals is less than $100 million.

Corrections costs $14,533 per inmate? (If $171 million divided by 11,7666 people) Holy cow. I think they need to talk to Sheriff Joe on how to save money.

But, I praise Texas looking at any way to cut their expenses, especially if that analysis looks to bar services to illegals. Am surprised Texas is doing that anyway.
