Netanyahu Meets Obama’s Big Bus

Does Obama wake up and say “which ally can I tick off today?” He has managed to annoy the Brits and their leaders, including the Queen, multiple times, Sarkozy, Merkel, the Israeli’s multiple times, the Pakistani’s, Iraqi leaders, Hamid Karzai several times. Now it is Binyamin Netanyahu’s chance to meet Obama’s bus, which is a double wide and stretched at this point

The snub marked a fresh low in US-Israeli relations and appeared designed to show Mr Netanyahu how low his stock had fallen in Washington after he refused to back down in a row over Jewish construction in east Jerusalem.

The Israeli prime minister arrived at the White House on Tuesday evening brimming with confidence that the worst of the crisis in his country’s relationship with the United States was over.

Over the previous two days, he had been feted by senior Republicans and greeted warmly by members of Congress. He had also received a standing ovation from the American Israel Public Affairs Affairs Committee, one of the most influential lobby groups in the United States.

As a matter of fact, nearly 300 US Congress critters signed a letter reaffirming our relationship with Israel. But, that means nothing to Obama, who, yet again, showed his poor temperament, incompetence, and how he puts the personal ahead of the job he spent years campaigning for

But Mr Obama was less inclined to be so conciliatory. He immediately presented Mr Netanyahu with a list of 13 demands designed both to the end the feud with his administration and to build Palestinian confidence ahead of the resumption of peace talks. Key among those demands was a previously-made call to halt all new settlement construction in east Jerusalem.

When the Israeli prime minister stalled, Mr Obama rose from his seat declaring: “I’m going to the residential wing to have dinner with Michelle and the girls.”

As he left, Mr Netanyahu was told to consider the error of his ways. “I’m still around,” Mr Obama is quoted by Israel’s Yediot Ahronot newspaper as having said. “Let me know if there is anything new.”

For over an hour, Mr Netanyahu and his aides closeted themselves in the Roosevelt Room on the first floor of the White House to map out a response to the president’s demands.

Does anyone have any stories about Obama treating leaders of hostile countries this way? No, it is only our allies. But, wait, it gets even worse!

Sending a clear message of his displeasure, Mr Obama treated his guest to a series of slights. Photographs of the meeting were forbidden and an Israeli request to issue a joint-statement once it was over were turned down.

Is it any wonder only 9% of Israeli’s consider Obama pro-Israel? And that was before the snubbings took place.

I want to feel sorry for the Israeli’s I really do, but considering how American jews voted en mass for Obama I can’t help but think they got what they deserve. Democrats and liberals have rarely been the friend of Israel yet they continue voting for those that will do them the most harm.

Teach we elect the POTUS to be in charge of our foreign policy. Obama won overwhelmingly by about a 2-1 margin. Our battlefield commanders have spoken quite plainly that the recent announcement of housing in East Jerusalem will increase the danger to our troops. I myself feel that our “ally” should do nothing that will increase the danger to our troops.Obama has done what our commanders on the battlefield wanted him to do. Maybe you should check your priorities on this. Housing ? or dead American soldiers?

…and yet when Bush was doing what the commanders on the ground wanted you got your panties all in a bunch. How about some consistency Johnny-Cakes.

Little johnny seems to think our troops are stationed in Jerusalem.

    Pathetic.

Obama has done what our commanders on the battlefield wanted him to do.

The commanders on the battlefield wanted Obama to insult a leader of allied nation?

  5. I didn’t realize that we were fighting in Israel, John.

Anyhow, are you referring to what Patraeus supposedly said, which he then proceeded to stop your left wing Israel hatred talking points right in their tracks? If you had someone else in mind, since you mentioned no names, let’s hear them.
