I’m not quite sure when Gov. Kathleen Sebelius (D-Kansas) actually said “transform,” but, like all the other liberals that hate America, it appears that the Credentialed Media at CNN sure want that to happen.
So, the Dems trotted up Gov. Sebelius, appropriately dressed as a mannequin (or is she usually that stiff?). You remember her. She’s the one who whined about Operation Iraqi Freedom after the Greensburg, Kansas tornado, saying that the response was poor because half the N.G. were gone. Then got smacked with the trout of reality. But, hey, in Liberal World, it is more important to blame Bush then take care of business.
“The new Democratic majority of Congress and the vast majority of Americans are ready — ready to chart a new course,” she said, adding that restoring America’s status in the world and improving the fight against terrorism would not have to wait for a new president if “more Republicans in Congress stand with us this year.”
I wonder how Gov. Sebelius feels about “the new Democratic majority of Congress” shelving the legislation that “Expresses the sympathy of the House of Representatives to the citizens of Greensburg, Kansas, over the devastating tornado of May 4, 2007.” She does know the Democrat led House blew her people off, right?
As far as Republicans standing with Democrats, um, no thanks! We prefer to win the War on Terrorism and Operation Iraqi Freedom, instead of laying our prayer mats out facing Mecca for Al Jazeera, as Michelle Malkin points out the Dems did. See Red State as well.
Remember, this the Party that wants to talk with rogue regimes, and does. A Party that wants to hand Iraq to Islamists, and is dyspeptic over the progress made there. A Party that wants to give terrorists American Rights and has hissy fits over listening to their calls without a warrant. A Party that wants to hand our sovereignty over to the UN and the Law Of the Seas treaty. A Party that wants to make sure our troops can be tried in international court. And a Party that has fought tooth and nail against every measure President Bush has put in place to proactively fight Islamists and protect our nation. Except the open borders thing. Democrats are for that.
John Hawkins at Right Wing News:
9:53: There was a plot to fly a plane into the tallest building in Los Angeles and blow up planes. We stopped it. Our ability to track terrorists will be disrupted if you don’t act by Friday. Republicans cheer ensuring our security. Democrats don’t clap.
Otherwise, I did not watch much of the speeches. Had a blinding migraine, and Nancy Pelosi’s blinking did not help. :)
More: Left leaning American Prospect did not think much of Sebelius
An entire passage on S-CHIP failed to mention that Bush had vetoed the legislation, denying 10 million children health care. Is there any easier shot to take? Is there any more important domestic issue in America today?
Um, yes, I could name several, other then giving health insurance to “children” up to the age of 25, some with illegal parents, all of which have parents who can afford insurance but chose not to. Those who really can’t, sure. Those who can, nope. How about the economy? Pork spending? Taxation? Infrastructure? Illegal immigration? Law and order? Considering that S-CHIP is not part of the Constitution, yeah, plenty of others, other then pandering with the People’s money.
