Just when you thought that global warming as caused by Man couldn’t be linked to anything else. Get some Pepto ready after reading this one
Having babies is bad for the planet, and parents of more than two children should be charged a birth levy and annual tax to offset the “greenhouse gases” their child will be responsible for over his or her lifetime.
At the same time, those who use and prescribe contraceptives and sterilization procedures should earn tax relief for such greenhouse friendly services” that help to keep the population size down.
These proposals, by an Australian academic, were published in the country’s leading medical journal on Monday. They drew a sharp response from a pro-family group.
“Every newborn baby in Australia represents a potent source of greenhouse gas emissions for an average of 80 years, not simply by breathing, but by the profligate consumption of resources typical of our society,” Barry Walters wrote in an article published in the Medical Journal of Australia Monday.
“Far from showering financial booty on new mothers and thereby rewarding greenhouse-unfriendly behavior, a ‘Baby Levy’ in the form of a carbon tax should apply, in line with the ‘polluter pays’ principle,” he argued.
Got that? Babies are now bad. Will this climate change meme catch on among the lefties? If so, let’s hope they practice what they preach, meaning less liberal idiots in the world in future years. But, in reality, do not expect them to actually do this: it will be for everyone else to practice, and the climahysterics will probably ask that government step in and mandate the number of children a couple can have.
And, certainly, if this meme catches on, they will say “see? Abortion on demand is good for the planet!”
On another note, it also shows much of what climahysteria is about: yanking money out of people’s pockets, whether they believe in climahysteria or not.
So, what liberal climahysterics out there are going to pony up if you have more then 2 children? Come on, now. This is your belief, why not live it?
Meanwhile, Cimahypocricy is in full swing!
Former U.S. Vice President Al Gore and Rajendra Pachauri, chairman of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), told a joint press conference here that it is time to “take strong and concrete actions” to fight climate change.
Gore and Pachauri representing the IPCC will receive the Nobel peace laurel at a ceremony in Oslo Monday.
They are scheduled to make a brief stop in the Swedish capital Stockholm Wednesday before heading to Bali to join the climate talks.
Super! Flying basically halfway around the world, doing exactly what the climahysterics say people should not do. Anyone want to bet they do not fly commercial?
