Please Stop Calling Edwards The Former Senator From NC

I'm begging people. It is frickin' embarrasing

Edwards aide David Ginsberg confirmed that the former North Carolina senator had not raised his hand in response to Brian Williams' question,"Do you believe there is such a thing as a global war on terror?"

He also noted that Edwards elaborated later in the debate.

"I believe — and this goes to the question you asked earlier, just a few minutes ago — global war on terror. I think there are dangerous people and dangerous leaders in the world that America must deal with and deal with strongly, but we have more tools available to us than bombs. And America needs to use the tools that are available to them so that these people who are sitting on the fence, who terrorists are trying to recruit, the next generation, get pushed to our side, not to the other side. We've had no long-term strategy, and we need one, and I will provide one."

Killing and arresting people who threaten our way of life is not a long term strategy? Warning countries about sponsoring terrorism is not a long term strategy? Worked for Lybia, eh?

What tools are there, John? Perhaps you would care to illuminate us on them. Do we sit down and give them tea and crumpets? Maybe just a good talking too. Or, we could invite them to the White House more then any other world leaders, like Clinton did with Yassar Arrafat.

As usual, a Democrat is long on talk, short on actual ideas. Like when he and Kerry were running, I am sure he will tell us his long term strategy if elected, but not till then.

I also have to wonder if he has a long term strategy for the War on Poverty. It has been going on since 1964, with no end in sight. No exit plan.

  1. The dreaded comfy chair – that’s the Edwards strategy. Along with some tea and crumpets…with lots of melted butter.
