I rarely post any excerpts from the forum I frequent (which I shall keep secret), but here are a couple from the realm of truthiness (and, yes, this is a bit of flame bait)
SAAB: I've been thinking about 596, and, as deplorable, digusting, and shameful it is, it doesn't even come close to OUR numbers. We kill about 30,000 of our own every year! That's about 82 EACH AND EVERY DAY! Yes, in this category, we are NUMBER ONE in the world! And , that's by guns alone! Shouldn't some country invade US, and put a stop to this insanity?
Really? This stats page would debunk that
And, how about a converstation asking what happened to the 60's lib concern for human rights, ending up saying that "Blacks can now vote." I interjected that, guess what? It was Republicans who gave them that Right
REAL: Civil Rights MOVEMENT That's the topic..Who cares what party was involved..No matter what, those people are probably NOW mainly Dems..
So, it doesn't matter what Party (that would be the Republicans who freed the Blacks during the Civil War, and who voted and pushed through the Civil Rights Act, over the objections, to put it mildly, of Democrats) is involved, as long as they are voting Democrat. Yup, liberal logic.
And the honesty? From a DUmmy thread regarding the possible stroke/heart attack of Senator Tim Johnson
- Deep13 78. I don't care what's fair, only what makes us win.
- still_one 86. no offense but why SHOULDN'T we complain. You want more death's in Iraq?because that is exactly what WILL HAPPEN. You want abortion banned because they will support a supreme court justice to take it away. You want corporations to be treated as individuals? I could go on, but I think you get my point
Pure truth.
What you do not see on that thread is many who say "Get well, Tim!" Some, but not many. Mostly it is about the process of picking a replacement, and what this means to Democrats.
I, for one, would like to wish him well. The news is reporting an unspecified illness, but not a stroke as earlier reported. I know from personal experience what effects a stroke can have on a person, their family, and friends, from something that happened back in June. I'm not going to get deeper in to that, but would like to wish Tim and his family well, and for a speedy recovery. Politics aside, life, family, and health, are more important then who controls what.
I'm glad I held off in posting this last night, as I fell asleep early. Senator Johnson is in critical condition after surgery for stroke like symptoms. I repeat, to heck with the political ramifications. My prayers go out to his friends and family.
Others: Michelle Malkin, Hot Air, The Bullwinkle Blog, tons of others.
