Democrats Promise Continued Crack Use In 2006

It’s not really true that the Democrats have no plans. They do. They have two types. The first being the ones that they refuse to actually push except by accident. Those are their core beliefs. Weak on National Security and Defense, abortion on demand, high taxation, BIG gov’t, huge social programs, and control of what people do and say.

The second plan is the same one a crack addict has. Crack addicts know what they are doing is really, really, bad for them, but, they think it just feels so good. So they keep doing it again and again until everyone stays away from them, all their possessions are gone, they’re out on the street, they are stealing from others, and, finally, they die. That is the kind of plan the Democratic Leadership has. Destructive ones. And, like hard core drug users, they drag others into their world.

Democrats on Capitol Hill are drafting a strategy to attack the Bush administration and Republicans as having little regard for the privacy of Americans.

"We will initiate at the beginning of this year one of the most serious debates and discussions on Capitol Hill in our history about individual rights and liberties," Minority Whip Richard J. Durbin said just before Christmas.

The topic will be a major focus of the Supreme Court confirmation hearings of federal Judge Samuel A. Alito Jr. as privacy rights — the political code phrase for abortion rights — already has become a major issue, Mr. Durbin said.

This will be a continuation of a strategy that offers nothing but whining. President Bush’s one-liner "a litany of complaints is not a plan" meant something when he said it. In that case, it was meant as ideas for governing. Unfortunately, to the Dems, plan means a path to destruction, with no ideas on how to be better then your opponent.

Also, Democrats cannot even say "abortion." It is always choice, or reproductive rights, etc.

Centrist Democrats, however, warn that such a strategy could backfire.

"I think when you suggest that civil liberties are just as much at risk today as the country is from terrorism, you’ve gone too far if you leave that impression," Michael O’Hanlon, a national security analyst at the Brookings Institution who advises Democrats on defense issues, told The Washington Times last week.

"I get nervous when I see the Democrats playing this [civil liberties] issue out too far," he said.

Well, civil liberties are important. Very important. I do not believe that anyone could read the Bill of Rights or the Federalist Papers and not see the importance of Civil Liberties. But, so far, no one can say that their CL’s have been violated. Only that they "could be." Government always has a potential to do that, as do private institutions. Welcome to reality, Dems! But, without any proof of violations, the Dems have the crack pipe out.

But Democrats, such as House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, have been full speed ahead on the new strategy. The California Democrat has been critical of Mr. Bush’s eavesdropping policy, portions of the Patriot Act and the war in Iraq.

Crack pipe. Nowhere is there any idea on how to do better. Nancy has her "litany of complaints" pipe going full blast.

Now, an idea to the eavesdropping policy would be to say "yes, Mr. President, we understand and agree with the need to do this. However, we are concerned with the potential for improper use of said taps. So, what we would like, is a small panel for continued oversight, which the NSA would report to once a week." Something simple like that would resonate with the people that think that Dems are weak on National Security, as well as obstructionist, in a positive light.

Never happen, though. The Dem leadership prefers to be dour, downbeat, and negative. They are positively euphoric when they are in that mood, as they light up another hit of crack.

Update: Looks like Blogs for Bush has more, which fits in well

Though I’m too young to really remember it, I think that the Democrats in 1972 were tagged as the Party of "Acid, Amnesty and Abortion" – referring to counter-culture drug use, amnesty for Vietnam War draft-dodgers, and Federally funded abortion on demand. The Democrats did not do too well at the polls in 1972 – and I think they are determined on a repeat in 2006 and 2008.
