Bye Bye, Tookie. You Won’t Be Missed

Except, of course, by those who believe the words of the co-founder of the Crips. I really hope I do not have to reiterate what the Crips have done over the years. And Tookie will finally pay for his cold blooded crimes

SAN FRANCISCO – Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger refused to block the execution early Tuesday of Stanley Tookie Williams, rejecting the notion that the founder of the murderous Crips gang had atoned for his crimes and found redemption on death row.

With a federal court refusing to grant a reprieve, Williams, 51, was set to die by injection at San Quentin Prison just after midnight for murdering four people during two 1979 holdups.

Williams’ case became one of the nation’s biggest death-row cause celebres in decades. It set off a nationwide debate over the possibility of redemption on death row, with Hollywood stars and capital punishment foes arguing that Williams had made amends by writing children’s books about the dangers of gangs.

But Schwarzenegger suggested that Williams’ supposed change of heart was not genuine, noting that the inmate had not owned up to his crimes or shown any real remorse for the countless killings committed by the Crips.

"Is Williams’ redemption complete and sincere, or is it just a hollow promise?" Schwarzenegger wrote less than 12 hours before the execution. "Without an apology and atonement for these senseless and brutal killings, there can be no redemption."

And therein lies the problem. No matter what the Hollyweirdo’s say, Tookie did the crime. He has never owned up for it. Those in prison say that he has never really left the life. As far as the Nobel Prize nomination, anyone can be nominated, if they find the correct sponsor. And those nominators are kept secret. And, remember, Tookie was not nominated for the Literature Nobel. he was nominated for the Peace Prize, the same one that was awarded to Yassar Arafat, a brutal terrorist and killer.

There are many folks with signs saying that the world will not be safer with Tookie dead. Jesse Jackson has said the same thing. In the short term, they might be correct, in that gang members will possibly riot in the wee hours of the morning after Tookie’s life has been extinguished, and he is Judged by his Maker.

But, Tookie will never hurt or kill anyone again. He will pay for the crimes he committed, in a manner that is alot more dignified and alot less painful then what his victims experience, as well as what was allowed in Colonial America, before and after the Constitution was signed. It is only in the past 40 years or so, since the late 60’s, that some people have become soft on crime punishment.

Tookie will not say "I’ll be back." He will be terminated. Callous? Maybe Tookie should have thought of that before becoming one of the premiere gang members of all time, and killing people in cold blood and laughing about it.
