Obama: $500 Million To Palestinian Authority

Sequester shmester, if this is true (via Newsbuster)

(Al Arabiya) Following the visit of U.S. President Barack Obama to the West Bank and Israel this week, the Palestinian Authority was granted access to almost $500 million that was frozen by U.S. Congress for months.

A top U.S. official said Friday that the frozen funds have been quietly unblocked after Obama and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry met with top Palestinian and Israeli leaders during his visit this week. Kerry has pushed for the funds to be released since taking up his post on Feb. 1.

State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland told reporters that the Obama Administration notified Congress late February that it was seeking a further $200 million to fund U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) programs for the Palestinians.

Hey, we can give quasi terrorists money but can’t give tours of the White House. Priorities.

How’s that work again? Congress allocates and blocks, but the President un-blocks?

  2. Hey, he’s El Presidente, he’s not bound by your silly laws and Constitution

I bet he did. People who hate Israel and are anti-American always do things against those best interests. Oh, why give them money… they’ll just keep building rockets and attacking Israel. oh.. OK. let’s do it.

So, how did funding terrorists work out? WOrk out in Iran? Work out in N. Korea? Work out in Syria? Work out in Iraq?

Am not hopeful that the house will hold firm and keep the funds frozen.

  4. john says:

that was money that was frozen because the PA went before the UN and asked for recognition as a member state according to Israel’s 1967 borders.

  5. Well, how about we spend it here at home, John?

  6. gitarcarver says:

Or how about we not spend it at all?

What are we going to get out of given this money away john? Are we going to get a new friend? Peace in the region?

Of course the answer to both questions is “no,” so why are we supporting the mortal enemy of an ally in the region john?

  7. John, like most Progressives, sees supporting the Palestinian jihadis as a great way to damage those evil Jews and Israel. Lefties are anti-semites and prefer Islamist murderers
