President Bush, Free The Border Agents

Kudos to Bill Dellahunt (democrat)

President Bush should immediately commute the prison sentences of two former U.S. Border Patrol agents convicted in the shooting of a drug-smuggling suspect, says the chairman of a House Foreign Affairs subcommittee.

Rep. Bill Delahunt, Massachusetts Democrat who heads the subcommittee on international organizations, human rights and oversight, said in a resolution yesterday the 11- and 12-year sentences for Ignacio Ramos and Jose Alonso Compean, respectively, were “profoundly disproportionate” based on federal sentencing guidelines.

Hey, gotta give credit where credit is due. This issue transcends petty political partisanship, in which I had a brief email conversation with Diane Feinstein (more likely, a staffer for her)  regarding this issue of the border agents. She supports freeing them, as well.

Come on, W, do the right thing! Pardon the Agents. Hell, even commuting their sentences will work. Get them out of jail and back to their families.

I actually like Feinstein. She has always shown herself to be common sensible. She’s obviously got this one right too.

I disagree with most of her polcies, but, from the emails (though, probably written by a staffer,) and what I read, she actually stands for something, unlike most Dems. Plus, she is on the right side of illegal immigration and the border agents.

I enjoyed Frankenstein too. Looked a lot like Herman Munster but not as ‘human’ as Young Frankenstein / Frankensteeeeen!
