They arrest British citizens for mean tweets and flying British flags, but, barely do anything about Islamists carrying Hamas flags and screaming “Death to Israel”. Keir Starmer calls student protests on 7 October anniversary ‘un-British’

Keir Starmer has urged students not to protest on the second anniversary of the Hamas-led 7 October attacks on Israel, describing plans for demonstrations as “un-British”.

Every child of Israel should be able to live alongside their Palestinian neighbours in “safety and security”, the prime minister said as he marked the anniversary.

That would be impossible. There’s a reason most Muslim nations refuse to take Palestinians in, and why Egypt has a massive wall separating Gaza from Egypt.

Writing in the Times, Starmer said protests due to take place at universities on Tuesday showed a lack of respect for others. He added that the pro-Palestine protests had been used by some as a “despicable excuse to attack British Jews”.

The prime minister wrote in the newspaper: “Today, on the anniversary of the atrocities of October 7, students are once again planning protests.

“This is not who we are as a country. It’s un-British to have so little respect for others. And that’s before some of them decide to start chanting hatred towards Jewish people all over again.”

Leftists in the UK have followed the lead of Islamists over the last few decades in protesting Israel, then learning to hate Israel, then learning to hate Jews. Government has been complicit in this. Including Starmer.

Starmer’s message was repeated on Tuesday by the education secretary, Bridget Phillipson, who told Sky News: “There is, of course, within our country the fundamental right to protest. It’s a cornerstone of our democracy.

“But my message is that, as we remember the awful atrocities that took place two years ago on October 7, I would just encourage those considering taking part in protests to pause, to reflect and to understand the deep sense of loss that many people in our country will be experiencing today, not least given the appalling attacks we saw at Manchester last week.

Again, same government takes the British flags from British people flying them in protest. Tells counter protesters they can’t. Stops pro-Israel protesters.

Don’t Forgot, Cold Weather Is Also Your Fault

Expert dismantles myth about cold weather: ‘That’s exactly what scientists have been warning us about’

Amid a chilly winter, it’s tempting to dismiss the effects of the changing climate. But one expert explained how one doesn’t negate the other.

In a video shared by AAP FactCheck (@aapfactcheck) on TikTok, Susie Dodds of the Australian Associated Press detailed why folks in the Land Down Under may have been uncomfortably cold in July.

First, the middle months of the year are winter in the Southern Hemisphere. She also said Australian homes are notoriously poorly insulated, citing half a dozen articles about the issue. Dodds then detailed the crux of the issue.

“A cold snap in July doesn’t suddenly erase decades of evidence supporting the reality of global warming,” she said. “And while you’re rugged up wearing three jumpers indoors, parts of the Northern Hemisphere are experiencing record-breaking heat waves. And that’s exactly what scientists have been warning us about.”

So, see, it gets cold in the Southern hemisphere in July because it is winter, and, it is your fault. And warm weather doom is coming.

The consequences are myriad, including health problems, disease spread, and rising sea levels.

“Weather does not equal climate,” Dodds added, explaining that the former describes daily conditions, such as wind, rain, and low temperatures. The latter describes a “long-term pattern over decades,” and this has been changing outside of what would have been normal since 1850, or after the Industrial Revolution.

Doom! And the long term weather does create climate.

Scientists have proved that rising global temperatures are caused by humans’ use of dirty energy sources, which causes the release of heat-trapping gases into the atmosphere. They envelop Earth like an invisible blanket, preventing the sun’s warmth from escaping into space just enough to make a significant difference; 90% of this excess energy is absorbed by the ocean, making hurricanes and other extreme weather events more severe.

Droughts, floods, heat waves, and more are also happening more frequently. This is causing weather whiplash, one of the clearest signs that planetary systems are out of balance. As Dodds said, the changing climate results in not just hotter weather but also “more extreme, unpredictable, and chaotic weather.”

SCC Mayor Bans ICE From Using City Property

Mayor Johnson does know that federal law, particularly on immigration, trumps (sic) state and local law, right? And that localities are duty bound by law to assist federal law enforcement, especially when there are felonies involved, right?

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson signs order prohibiting use of city property for immigration enforcement

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson signed an executive order Monday morning prohibiting U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and other federal agencies from using city property for civil immigration enforcement.

The order prohibits federal authorities from using city-owned or controlled parking lots, vacant lots and garages as staging areas, processing locations or operations bases for civil immigration enforcement activity.

The order defines as “staging area” as “any location used to assemble, mobilize or deploy personnel, vehicles, or equipment for immigration enforcement operations. This includes sites used for surveillance or logistical coordination,” according to the mayor’s office.

The order applies to all city-owned and city-controlled parking lots, garages and vacant lots, including Chicago Public Schools property, CBS News Chicago confirmed.

Additionally, the order supports private property owners, tenants and institutions to deny access to ICE and other federal agents working on immigration enforcement unless they can produce a warrant. The city will design and distribute official signage that will be given out, for free, to any private landowner or tenant can post on their property. The signage will clearly state no law enforcement official may enter for civil immigration enforcement, or use the property as a staging area, processing location or operations based.

And this gives the Trump admin all they need to deny Sanctuary City Chicago lots and lots of federal funds. Which won’t help when SCC has spent around $1.6 billion on illegals, money which could have gone to helping US citizens in SCC. Better schooling. Better streets. More cops in high crime areas. And more.

Still, I’d rather Trump let these sanctuary jurisdictions have the illegals for now and go after those in Republican areas first. Which would also mean illegals would stream into sanctuary jurisdiction to avoid being picked up.

Washington Post Editorial Board: “the Affordable Care Act was never actually affordable”

The shutdown conversation no one wants

As the partial government shutdown enters its second week, neither party is leveling with the American people about the hard choices required to get federal spending off a fiscally ruinous trajectory.

President Joe Biden and congressional Democrats used covid-19 to justify chasing the mirage of a European-style welfare state without raising the necessary taxes to pay for it. Now, prodded by the left, party leaders have shut down the government in a bid to permanently extend what was sold in 2021 as emergency subsidies to help people struggling during the pandemic afford health insurance.

And now they do not want to cut a dime, even back to pre-COVID levels which were too high

Yet Democrats have demanded that Republicans agree to extend the covid-era insurance subsidies without proposing any way to pay for it. The Congressional Budget Office estimates this will cost $350 billion over the next decade. These temporary benefits were included in the American Rescue Plan of March 2021 and extended the next year in the misnamed Inflation Reduction Act until the end of 2025.

The real problem is that the Affordable Care Act was never actually affordable. President Barack Obama’s signature achievement allowed people to buy insurance on marketplaces with subsidies based on their income. The architects of the program assumed that risk pools would be bigger than they turned out to be. As a result, policies cost more than expected.

It was never meant to be affordable. And, those risk pools tended to be pretty damned big. From the get-go it was expensive for deductibles and premiums, often offset by Other People. Remember this gem from 2013?

But people with no pre-existing conditions like Vinson, a 60-year-old retired teacher, and Waschura, a 52-year-old self-employed engineer, are making up the difference.

“I was laughing at Boehner — until the mail came today,” Waschura said, referring to House Speaker John Boehner, who is leading the Republican charge to defund Obamacare.

“I really don’t like the Republican tactics, but at least now I can understand why they are so pissed about this. When you take $10,000 out of my family’s pocket each year, that’s otherwise disposable income or retirement savings that will not be going into our local economy.”

“Of course, I want people to have health care,” Vinson said. “I just didn’t realize I would be the one who was going to pay for it personally.”

Ocare was always meant as a waypoint towards Single Payer, hoping to drive the insurance companies out of business, but, what happened was that deductibles, premiums, and the cost of service went up, because, hey, if the government is going to pay for it, why not charge more? That’s how you get $500 hammers, instead of going to Lowe’s and buying a good one for $50.

Anyhow

This is how entitlement programs work. Once you habituate people to some generous government handout, they grow dependent on it. And it becomes politically perilous, if not impossible, to fully claw it back. Conservatives fought so hard to stop Obamacare 15 years ago because they anticipated fights like this one.

But, someone is paying for that handout. Let’s not forget that Ocare was so great that Democrats excluded Congress from participating

Weird: Connecticut Spending $100 Million A Year On Healthcare For Illegals

CT spends over $100M on health care for immigrants without legal status as shutdown debate rages

More than $100 million in state funds have been used to pay for health care for children and expectant and postpartum mothers without legal immigration status since this coverage became available through Connecticut’s Medicaid program two years ago.

The issue of government-funded health care for immigrants who are in the U.S. illegally is at the center of a national debate following disputed political allegations that Democrats forced the federal government shutdown over the issue.

Immigrants who are in the U.S. illegally are ineligible for traditional federal Medicaid programs, but states can use their own funds to cover their health care and Connecticut is one of 14 states that has made that choice.

The state legislature and Gov. Ned Lamont in 2021 initially authorized state-funded coverage for income-eligible children up to age 8 regardless of their immigration status who are ineligible for Medicaid, the Children’s Health Insurance Program or affordable employer-sponsored insurance. The legislation also provided coverage for prenatal care to income-eligible women regardless of their immigration status and for postpartum care for 12 months after giving birth.

Does anyone think that the program is being limited to kids and mothers, particularly when the vast majority of illegals seem to be under 30 males? Also, is the state actually segregating the money from Los Federales from state money? Doubtful.

Enrollment significantly outpaced projections when the eligibility age for children increased to 15 in July 2024. The projected enrollment was 7,000 children, but actual sign-ups topped 15,000 children.

That’s what happens when you’re a sanctuary city and your party invites illegals to stream into the U.S.

The higher-than-expected participation contributed to a $284 million shortfall in the state Medicaid program in the last fiscal year. Some $32 million of that 2025 fiscal year deficit was attributed to health care for immigrants who are not in the U.S. legally. The legislature in May approved a $500 million supplemental appropriation bill that made up the Medicaid shortfall and deficiencies in other agency budgets.

$32 million could have done a lot of good for US citizens, eh? And jamming even more people into the system means that costs for healthcare will rise. Surprise!

Global: Over 3,000 climate litigation cases are reshaping global climate policy currently

Climate litigation is now being pursued across more countries than ever before according to a report published by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Sabin Center for Climate Change Law at Columbia University.

The 78-page Climate Change in the courtroom: Trends, impacts, and emerging lessons report is the fourth edition of a series first launched in 2017. It reveals how legal action is addressing issues such as greenwashing, carbon offsets, and energy-intensive data centres. Drawing on data from the Sabin Centre’s Climate Change Litigation Databases, the report examines key trends, pending cases, and court decisions.

UNEP executive director Inger Anderson said, “Climate litigation has evolved into a powerful global tool for advancing climate action, and accountability. Transforming our energy, mobility, housing, and food systems must be a collective effort, through ambitious and science-based policymaking.

The best tool would be Warmists living the life, making their own lives carbon neutral

As of 30 June 2025, a cumulative 3,099 climate-related cases have been filed in 55 national jurisdictions and 24 international or regional courts, tribunals, or quasi-judicial bodies. This continues a trend in climate-related cases filed by 2022 (2,180 cases), 2020 (1,550 cases) and 2017 (884 cases). While cases from the Global South still represent less than 10% in 2025, their share is steadily growing.

At the same time, the report also identifies anti-climate litigation is on the rise, with lawsuits aimed at deregulating environmental protections or deprioritizing environmental, social, and corporate governance issues in investments. Particularly concerning is the increase in lawsuits against public opposition to high-emitting projects, which target climate advocates, journalists, and civil society organizations.

We shouldn’t really have to have any but, hey, as the ancient Tibetan philosophy states, don’t start none won’t be none.

Anti-Israel activists return to Sydney Opera house, ‘flood’ NYC streets for October 7 anniversary

Anti-Israel activists and groups are set to protest worldwide around the anniversary of the October 7 Massacre, with planned marches to the Sydney Opera House and in the streets of New York City echoing the demonstrations that erupted immediately after the Hamas-led pogrom in Israel’s south.

The marches and rallies sought to mark two years of a supposed genocide in Gaza.

Within Our Lifetime called for supporters to “flood New York City for Gaza” on October 7, 2025, a call to action that evoked the Gazan name for the massacre, Operation al-Aqsa Flood.

I pretty sure it’s not mean to evoke, it’s meant to represent the Hamas murder spree.

“Honor the martyrs of Gaza and all of Palestine. For 77 years Israel has waged genocide against the Palestinian people, and for the past two years Gaza has endured a new stage of that genocide while the world has watched it unfold live on our screens,” WOL said on X on Friday. “The media has spent these two years lying and manufacturing consent for genocide, dehumanizing Palestinians over and over. Hundreds of Palestinian journalists who livestreamed the truth and humanized their people were killed by Israel. Honoring the martyrs means putting their names and stories right in front of the news outlets that erased them and forcing the truth into the spotlight they tried to bury.”

And you know this will be happening in the UK, Germany, France, the rest of Europe, Australia, and New Zealand, as well as across the US in Dem run cities. Literally demonstrating for terrorists who would be happy to destroy the way of life of the non-Muslim demonstrators. How did it come to this point, having all these Islamic extremists in the US, post-9/11?

In Japan, a group calling itself Peace for Palestine is organizing a Tuesday nationwide protest, with the main effort at United Nations University. The group is calling for “solidarity with the Palestinian resistance” and for the Japanese government to sanction Israel.

I wonder if Japan will shut this down? The nation hasn’t exactly been welcoming of Islam. Wisely.
