While we are on the subject of How To Blog, let me add a few things.
First, you may have noticed folks with strange Truth Laid Bear things, like mine which says I am a "Large Mammal with a Light Saber." How do you do that? SImple. Use a code like this:

Insert your own address and saying.
You may be thinking, how do you find cool things like that? It is actually rather easy. I may have mentioned it before, but, look up at the task bar, under "view." Go to "source" or "page source." Open it up. Do a search to find what you are looking for. That is how I got the code for the TLB stuff, stolen from Rusty. I snaked the "welcome to my visitors from…" from Beth. Many of the graphics are snagged out on the web. Heck, most of my banner is taken from, well, you can guess. I suspect that most folks do not mind, just give them credit. Or, at the least, a thank you email.
BTW, y’all might want to view the page in Internet Explorer, comes up funky in Firefox.
Update: Tom at Hamstermotor has a bit more on this subject. He shows you how to make the saying rotate. Good stuff. Go here.

It’s that time again. Day 93 since Kerry promised to sign his 180’s.
John Kerry has flip flopped multiple times on releasing his 180’s. See this previous post for the back and forth waffleing by the big weenie. He has stated unequivically that he will sign his Form 180 without conditions. Lets help him with this. It’s been 93 days since he said he would sign his 180’s. Time for him to keep his word for once.
The furor over military credentials hasn’t ended with the campaign. Kerry pledged to sign Form 180, releasing all of his military records, but challenged his critics, including Bush, to do the same.
”I want them to sign it, I want [swift boat veterans] John O’Neill, Roy Hoffmann, and what’s their names, the guys on the other boat,” Kerry said. ”I want their records out there. They have made specific allegations about my record, I know things about their records, I want them out there. I’m willing to sign it, to put all my records out there. I’m willing to sign it, but I want them to sign it, too.”
Kerry later confirmed that his decision to sign the form is not conditional on any others signing, but he expressed lingering bitterness over double standards on military service.
The folks at Conservative Friends have recommended a Tuesday blogburst. I have sent mine in. Send yours in by going here for the Form 180. Then, email the link to Kerry at this address. Cass at Villainous Company has an excellent insert for the email:
On the April 18th, 2004 taping of Meet the Press you promised to make all your records public but then reneged. In January of 2005, you again appeared on Meet the Press and promised to sign Form 180. We would like you to keep your word – please sign Form 180 immediately and release the missing thirty-one pages of medical records, your DD Form 256N, and any other military records still unreleased.
Some have asked why this matters. It is called accountability. The Left was all up in arms about President Bush signing his, yet Kerry was not held to the same standard. Time to hold him to his word.
Cao’s Blog is hosting the Blogburst. Here is the link to Cao’s 4/26 post. Head over, and let her know if you want to be included. Spread the word. Others blogging:

Making states actually do something crazy, like check multiple forms if identification to make sure that 1. people are who they are and 2. they are US citizens, is moving along in the Senate.
Senate negotiators on Monday accepted a House plan to make states verify that driver’s license applicants are U.S. citizens or legal immigrants but softened House-proposed changes in asylum laws.
The immigration measures are part of a bill to pay for continuing military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. Still unresolved was how much more money to spend on border security.
It’s a good darn idea. As a resident of one of the States that will realistically give a drivers liscense to, well, anyone, something the People of North Carolina are opposed to heavily, I will uncategoricaly claim that this is a good idea. But,
Governors and state motor vehicle departments had opposed the driver’s license provisions as too costly. They also complained that state motor vehicle officials would be forced to take on the role of immigration officers.
Civil liberties and gun rights supporters opposed the measure on privacy grounds, saying they fear driver’s licenses will evolve into national identification cards.
Interesting. Two dynamically opposed, historically, groups are on the same side.
Dr. Phil?
"Well, I would say to those folks, the Governors, DMV’s, Civil Rights nuts, and the gun rights supporters, HEY, IT’S NOT ABOUT YOU! It’s about protecting the People of the United States, and helping to stop the flow of illegal, yes, illegal immigrants to the USA. Why are we giving these folks the same Rights as legal citizens, as well as those that come to our wonderful country legally? I, I, I say they need to buy my books and tapes."
Thanks, Dr. Phil. He’s right, you know. Really, what is the problem with this?
Under the legislation, Americans applying for driver’s licenses will have to bring far more information with them to motor vehicle offices. They will be asked to show birth certificates, photo IDs, proof of their Social Security numbers and a document with full names and home addresses, according to a copy of the bill obtained by The Associated Press.
Motor vehicle departments will be required to verify the documents and the Social Security numbers. States still could give licenses to illegal immigrants, but they would have different designs or colors to alert security officers that they are unacceptable as IDs for boarding planes or entering federal buildings.
Is that really so wrong? Is that really that burdensome? The folks at the DMV’s already are supposed to check some sort of ID. What is a few more pieces of paper? Except for that bit about checking Social Security numbers, since they are legally only supposed to be used for Social Security purposes. Not like anyone follows that rule anymore. How is this so burdensome and costly? It is just Government and groups pitching a fit against the Will of the Majority.
Dr. Phil?
"I’d tell them to get a life, because it’s not about them. Maybe they just need a good hug."
Well, there you have it.

Ok, gotta break sorta-blogless-Sunday, but this is too good to ignore
North Carolina’s shallow coastal waterways see a steady stream of traffic from fishing boats, tour trips and outdoor enthusiasts. But this year, uncertain federal funding has threatened officials’ ability to keep those inlets and channels open.
State lawmakers have commissioned a study of the waterways that will show the best way to maintain their navigability. The plan is to create a consolidated database of all federally maintained waterways in North Carolina, and show how much it costs to maintain them and how it’s done.
An advisor for a legislative committee said the plan can be used to lobby for more federal money, or to help find some other source of funds.
Or, rather then spending the money on studying it, you could just blanking dredge it. And you could still ask the feds for the money. You honestly cannot tell me that there haven’t been studies out the ying yang for hundreds of years that are available for this, can you? Ask some fisherman. They will certainly know.
Now, of course, there have been lots of hurricanes and tropical storms that can play with the inland waterways, but still, ask the fisherman, and dredge. Quit wasting the taxpayers money. Trust me, I know a little about this. I grew up in Brielle, NJ, which is right on the Intercoastal Waterway. I have watched the dredging of the the Manasquan River Inlet many a times, as well as other sections of the Manasquan River (which happens to be the beginning of the waterway, if ye check the map).
As MJ says "Just do it." Cause Bo knows dredging.
