Democrats love Democracy so much that they’re going to make sure that Trump can’t be on the ballot

Illinois judge rules Trump ineligible for Republican primary ballot over Jan. 6 riot

An Illinois judge ruled Wednesday that former President Donald Trump should be taken off the ballot for the state’s primary election, citing the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Cook County Circuit Court Judge Tracie R. Porter put her order on pause in anticipation of an appeal. The primary is March 19.

Porter’s ruling said that “based on engaging in insurrection on January 6, 2021, … his name should be removed from the ballot.”

Trump campaign spokesperson Steven Cheung bashed the ruling in a statement, arguing it was “unconstitutional” and saying it would be appealed. He also lashed out at Porter, calling her an “activist Democrat judge.” The Trump campaign also began trying to raise money off of the decision shortly after it was filed.

A group of five petitioners asked the state to remove Trump from the primary ballot on Jan. 4, the day he submitted filings to appear on the ballot, Porter wrote in her ruling. The petitioners also asked the Cook County Circuit Court for judicial review of the matter.

In reality, it doesn’t matter, because Trump won’t win Illinois in the general election. And this won’t stop Trump supporters from writing his name in. This is just another case of an unhinged Democrat losing their minds and trying to block someone who hasn’t been convicted of the crime in question, which looks more like something that the federal government would have to rule on, not states. We’re still waiting for the Supreme Court to give their opinion on Colorado banning Trump. The trump campaign is going to appeal the Illinois decision by one judge

Porter, the Illinois judge, referred Wednesday to the Colorado Supreme Court’s decision multiple times in her ruling, adding that she shares “the Colorado Supreme Court’s sentiments that did not reach its conclusions lightly.”

The Illinois Supreme Court appointed Porter, a Democrat, to the circuit court in 2021 to fill a vacancy. She won election the following year.

Yet, these same Democrats are happy ignore actual real crime. Meh, you get what you vote for.

Automakers Tell California That The 2035 EV Mandate Is Unworkable

Automakers question feasibility of California 2035 EV sales mandate plan

Major automakers said on Wednesday that a California plan to end the sale of gasoline-only vehicles by 2035 might be unworkable in 11 other states that adopted it, citing insufficient consumer demand.

The Alliance for Automotive Innovation, which represents most major automakers except Tesla, raised concerns in comments filed with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on California’s proposal.

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) asked the EPA for a waiver under the Clean Air Act to implement its plan to end sales of gasoline-only vehicles by 2035.

California’s EV requirements might be feasible “at least in the early years for California” but said the feasibility for other states with significantly lower current EV sales “is far less certain,” the auto industry group said.

I don’t think it will be feasible in California, because of that whole “insufficient consumer demand.” Hey, maybe there will be some massive breakthrough in battery technology. But, I’d trust the people who build vehicles and know everything about them over some unelected bureaucrats with delusions of grandeur when it comes to understanding what consumers want.

California’s rules require by 2035 that 80% of all new vehicles sold in the state be electric and no more than 20% plug-in hybrid electric.

The People’s Republik Of California doesn’t even want regular hybrids. But, hey, every experiment needs an experimental group, so, I’m looking forward to the caterwauling from the exact people who voted for the politicians that installed the bureaucrats who are mandating this.

SCD To Close Illegal Alien Shelters In Attempt To Save $60 Million

Weren’t we told that illegals are a net economic benefit, not a drain? Anyhow, shouldn’t the Democrat voters in Denver (the county, which is small, went 79.6% for Biden in 2020) be donating lots of their own money, and, heck, homes, to support the illegals?

Denver to close migrant shelters in effort to save $60 million amid budget deficit

On the heels of cuts to city services to address a multi-million-dollar budget deficit in part due to the city’s ongoing response to the migrant crisis, Denver Mayor Mike Johnston on Wednesday announced the upcoming closure of four migrant shelters he says will save Denver around $60 million in costs in the 2024 budget.

With the change in the city’s strategy to address the crisis, Johnston said more work will be done to find additional cuts.

“That means the $180 million deficit that we were facing is now closer to $120 million. That still leaves us $120 million of cuts to make,” said Johnston during a press conference. “So that means we still have work to do.”

Johnston said the city will close one migrant shelter a week over the next four weeks.

In addition to the shelter closings, Johnston said the city’s reinstatement of the length of stay program at shelters several weeks ago resulted in around 2,500 people leaving those shelters, which he said, cut the nightly shelter population by around 90 percent.

So, just 4 shelters cost $60 million? That’s absurd. What kind of idiocy are they doing to cost that money? Further, now that Sanctuary City Denver is booting them, where are they going? Supposedly, around 50% have found other shelter. Who’s paying for it? Even if illegals have work authorization, no way they can afford shelter. And, what kind? A lot of places require deposits and credit checks.

Wednesday’s press conference comes after Aurora’s City Council this week approved by a 7-3 vote a resolution effectively halting city support of migrants and people experiencing homelessness.

“We are bringing forward a resolution to let cities know that they’re not allowed to bus migrants into our community without us knowing,” said Councilman Steve Sundberg during Monday’s vote. “We want to simply let our residents know that although we are empathetic towards the plight of such folks, we cannot host them out of pure reality and our financial situation.”

Aurora didn’t ask for the problem, do not want the problem, and refuse to support the problem

During Wednesday’s press conference, Mayor Johnston addressed Aurora’s actions.

“First of all, it’s false that we’re sending them to Aurora. Second of all, I’d say history is pretty clear on this. There’s a long history of cities in this country over centuries who bet on being anti-immigrant in their economic strategies, and look and see how those cities have done,” said Johnston. “Those cities have been on the losing side of history and every single moment and there have been other cities that have been welcoming,”

Wrapping up the press conference, Mayor Johnston added: “Denver has been and will be the most vibrant city in the state for decades to come. And it will be that way because it will be a place that’s welcoming to folks who want to come and help build into something better. We will bet our future on that,” said Johnston. “But if folks want to bet their future on closing their doors, we’ll see who wins.”

Hey, Johnson, you’re the ones who invited the illegals by being a sanctuary city, and the ones kicking them out of shelters. Oh, and spending oodles of taxpayer money on them. And you should be happy, because you are a sanctuary city.

Who’s Up For Drying Out The Sky For ‘Climate Change’?

Some scientists have a new idea that could help fix climate change: Dry out the sky

It may sound like the plot of an old James Bond movie, but an idea to “dehydrate the stratosphere” to slow climate change is real.

In a new study released Wednesday in Science Advances, researchers propose a controversial geoengineering strategy to reduce global warming, one that involves dehydrating the stratosphere by removing water vapor – the most abundant greenhouse gas.

Indeed, although greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide and methane are the most important drivers of human-caused climate change, water vapor remains the most common greenhouse gas. Thus, removing it from the atmosphere would help mitigate climate change, study authors say.

Except, the number one greenhouse gas is water vapor. It drives the climate more than any other greenhouse gas, and is the most abundant. To say otherwise is just doomsday cult based sciencey yapping.

In the study, which was conducted by researchers from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), scientists suggest trying what they call “intentional stratospheric dehydration.”

According to study lead author Joshua Schwarz, a research physicist at NOAA’s Chemical Sciences Laboratory in Boulder, Colorado, this concept would involve seeding small particles (known as ice nuclei) into the stratosphere using high-altitude planes.

If such seeds can be introduced into the stratosphere, he said, then some of the water vapor will condense into ice and fall, thereby removing excess water vapor and dehydrating (at least partially) the stratosphere.

This is such a bad idea, and I seriously doubt anything will happen beyond the taxpayer funded study, meant to be published so that they get more taxpayer money for more studies that do not actually help or accomplish anything. But, the scientists can yammer to each other at cocktail parties about how awesome they are.

The fallout could be monumental. That water vapor can both reflect sunlight, the ultimate driver of climate, as well as retain it. It’s a balance in our dynamic system.

CNN Notes Biden Has Big Problem With His Terrorism Supporting Base

Biden has eight months to fix his Michigan problem

If the Democratic voters of Michigan – and a handful of other swing states – are feeling uncommitted in November, Joe Biden could lose reelection.

Tuesday’s primary – in which tens of thousands of Democratic primary votes cast protest ballots over the president’s support for Israel – made clear that he faces a battle for his own coalition and political base that he must win if he is to defeat likely Republican nominee Donald Trump.

The stakes could not be higher since there’s a good chance that the candidate who captures Michigan in the fall will return to the White House for a second term.

But while Biden can seek to mitigate his issues with the state’s thousands of suburban Arab American voters, his chances of easing his vulnerabilities may depend on something that may be out of his power – the return of peace to the Middle East and the end of Israel’s operation in response to the Hamas terror attacks last October.

Democratic primary voters in Michigan have the option to mark their ballot as “uncommitted.” In 2012, even President Barack Obama suffered 20,000 such defections. That was a blip in a cruise to reelection. But on Tuesday night, Biden got an unmistakable message. With only 61% of the vote in, Biden had 81% of votes cast. But more than 67,000 voters had made their point by casting an uncommitted ballot.

You can see from the graphic that, as of 7am, that number is 101,000 with 85% in. If there is peace by November, will those Islamism supporters and Jew haters vote for Biden? I can’t imagine Israel continuing military operations through the Fall, but, they may well be in occupation operations by that time. The Michigan Islamists won’t like that. Will they vote uncommitted or for someone else even knowing it could give Trump the win in Michigan? Is their support of Islamic extremism so hardcore that they would vote uncommitted in the general election?

The size of the uncommitted vote after an organized campaign by Arab American and progressive critics of Biden’s Middle East policy is the most tangible sign yet of how the war in Gaza is tearing at the fabric of the Democratic Party.

Yeah, well, perhaps Democrats should consider if they really want people in their party who hate Israel and Jews who are also big supporters of Islamic extremism and Islamic terrorist groups. Is this something Trump can take advantage of to sway Independents and squishy Democrats, noting that a goodly chunk of their comrades are anti-Semites and Islamic extremism supporters?

Tourism Tax Is Crucial to Tamp Regional Effects of Climate Change

Tourism is a vital source of revenue for local economies worldwide—but it also is a significant contributor to environmental degradation and social inequity.

This dynamic has spurred a conversation about the role of tourism and travelers and the role of taxation in fostering sustainable practices. Policies such as Hawaii’s proposed $25 per-visitor tourism tax, as well as similar policies in Italy and Bali, aim to mitigate the harmful environmental effects of tourism while keeping the cash flowing for regions that rely on it.

A conversation between whom? Wackjob climate cultists, mostly at the Elite levels, who take lots and lots of fossil fueled trips?

With the global poor set to disproportionately bear the brunt of environmental disasters, a well-conceived tourist tax in one jurisdiction could model a way to protect the environment and provide a social safety net for those most in the crosshairs of climate change globally.

That’s rather patronizing, coming from the people who can afford vacations and to buy into this claptrap, eh?

The transition from theoretical tax policies to practical and impactful action requires meticulous policy planning. This would ensure tourism tax dollars are allocated toward the programs that stand the best chance of offsetting climate harms.

At the outset, the revenue generated from tourism taxes should be allocated transparently and efficiently. Local communities, environmental groups, and the tourism industry generally should have a clear understanding of how funds are being used. Such transparency would go a long way toward ensuring tourism tax revenue isn’t merely being used to attract more attention to the tourism industry.

Awesome. More bureaucracy. And once it’s all in place, that transparency and efficiency will disappear. Probably in 6 months or less.

Denver To Cut Some Employee Hours To Zero Due To Illegal Alien Invasion

Denver says it’s not laying off employees, while also admitting some workers may have their hours cut to zero

The City of Denver is trying to avoid the word “layoffs” when it comes to impending budget cuts. So instead, they’re telling some hourly on-call employees they may have their hours reduced to zero.

“The reduction in hours of operation and programs will affect the number of hours worked by many on-call, some to the point where they may not receive any hours,” a statement from Denver Parks and Recreation Director Jolon Clark read in-part. “The final decisions on hours for any individual position have not been made yet.”

They’re not calling it layoffs, but it definitely sounds like some people may not have jobs anymore.

Denver Parks and Rec told 9NEWS everyone from front desk workers to coaches to lifeguards are all considered “on-call employees” that could be impacted by these cuts.

So, Denver went from furloughing these same jobs during COVID shutdowns to now doing it because of all the illegal aliens in their sanctuary city.

The department is working to cut $4.3 million to help the city pay for the migrant crisis. Mayor Mike Johnston said Monday it hasn’t been decided which jobs will have their hours cut and by how much.

“We have not made any final decisions on cuts other than the ones that we announced already,” Johnston said. “All of our departments, all of our agencies, we’re going to have to find a way to prioritize.”

Who’s fault is this? Point an arrow directly to the White House. Or, a beach house in Delaware. Depends on the day.

“These direct impacts on DMV do not involve layoffs, nor do Parks and Rec involve layoffs of our current employees,” Johnston said on Fe. 9. “We will have hourly workers that will have fewer hours. If we reduce your hours and you’re an on-call worker, that’s true. We will have on-call workers that we won’t hire for the summer that we will have hired otherwise. This does reduce new hires that we would’ve brought on.”

Aren’t you glad you voted for this, Democrats? And you did vote for it. You voted for your tax money to go to illegal aliens. All of you having your hours cut as low as zero, along with see some jobs disappear, you happy? Isn’t it great being forced to practice what you preach? Y’all looking forward to reduced hours and services at city parks and such? Because that’s the next logical action.

The mayor also hinted Monday that the city will be reducing the services offered to newly arriving migrants this week, though he didn’t offer any specifics. Johnston has said the city is $180 million short on its budget because of the money migrants arriving to Colorado have cost the city.

Remember when Democrats said illegals generate revenue, not cost it?

Debt, missed classes and anxiety: How climate-driven disasters hurt college students

In August 2016, Maameefua Koomson had just moved into her dorm at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. Sophomore year was shaping up to be excellent. Koomson was a strong student, she was pursuing her dream of studying creative writing, and she had landed a plum job as a resident assistant, or RA, in an honors dorm.

“I was, like, I’m going to be the best RA to these freshmen,” she remembers. “I did a Sponge Bob-themed hall. I had events planned out.”

And then, just a few days before classes began, it started to rain. At first it seemed like just another rainstorm in a part of the country where heavy rain is normal. But then it turned into something else entirely. A record-shattering deluge that drowned much of the greater Baton Rouge area in multiple feet of floodwater. (snip)

And even though Koomson wasn’t living at home anymore, the disaster affected her college experience, and her broader life, in profound and lasting ways. Within a year, she had lost her RA job and changed her major. By the time she graduated, her ideas about what career opportunities were open to her had shifted dramatically, with long-term financial and personal consequences.

Well, you know, a lot of us have gone through heavy weather events in our lives. Most of us haven’t let it destroy our lives. But, this younger generation is entirely too emotional, are emotionally fragile and weak, and their elders are not only not helping them cope, they’re the ones who have been preaching doom and gloom and making them mental messes. Oh, and perhaps adults shouldn’t be having a Sponge Bob-themed hall. You know what my hall had freshman year? Nothing. We didn’t need anything. It’s where we slept and did homework. Nowhere else on campus had a child’s cartoon theme. If you brought it up you would have been laughed at.

New research suggests Koomson’s experience is common. As severe floods, wildfires and hurricanes become more frequent due to climate change, economists and sociologists are beginning to study the effects of those disasters on people who are in financially and socially formative college years. And the results are sobering.

Except, they aren’t getting worse.

Students whose families live in ZIP codes where there was a severe weather disaster get worse grades than their peers, are more likely to withdraw from difficult courses, and ultimately are more likely to default on their student loans after they graduate, according to a recent study that examined college students all over the country.

And students need not be directly affected by the disaster in order to suffer, the study found. For example, a student going to school in New York might struggle after a fire burned down their family home in California.

Or, it could be just an excuse for a slacker generation, one which is racking up massive debt while taking worthless college degrees and not having the fortitude to really do something unless it is given to them.

Anyway, it’s a long, long, long article that blames this all on you.
