Does this quote from His Royal Majesty Barack H. Obama beat out the previous post on needing an additional $36 trillion for globull warming? You decide (via Hot Air, where Allahpundit Erika Johnsen discusses)

What Say To $36 Trillion In Spending For Globull Warming?

Yes, you read the headline correctly (via Tom Nelson)

(CNN Money) The International Energy Agency said the world’s clean energy investments are sorely lacking and this week called for an additional $36 trillion of funding by 2050.

In a sharply-worded introduction to a 700-page report, IEA Executive Director Maria van der Hoeven said governments and private industry need to do far more if the world is to hold global warming to what most scientists say is an acceptable level.

Wait, an “additional” $36 trillion?

Archived Data Blocked By GISS

What is GISS? That’s NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies. Government funded. The money comes from taxpayers. Primarily at the force of law. Steven Goddard has found out that the archived data and James Hansen’s writings have been blocked

Michael Hammer has found the original uncorrupted GISS US temperature data on John Daly’s web site. Prior to GISS/USHCN perverting the data set in the year 2000, the 1930s was the hottest decade.

That data looks like this

But, when you go to the webpage where it came from now, you find that the page is no longer available. Steven also found that the archived page cannot be accessed because of a robots.txt file. Steven looked at the text file, and we see that accessing the data has been “disallowed”. There’s your “open science”, folks.

CBC: All Opposition To Obama Is Racist

Even calling Obama “cool” is racist

(Washington Examiner) Angela Rye, Executive Director of the Congressional Black Caucus, argued that President Obama has struggled during his first term due to racially-motivated opposition from conservatives who dislike having a black president.

“This is probably the toughest presidential term in my lifetime,” Rye said during CSPAN’s Q&A yesterday. “I think that a lot of what the president has experienced is because he’s black. You know, whether it’s questioning his intellect or whether or not he’s Ivy League. It’s always either he’s not educated enough or he’s too educated; or he’s too black or he’s not black enough; he’s too Christian or not Christian enough. There are all these things where he has to walk this very fine line to even be successful.”

She said that “a lot” of conservative opposition is racially-charged, citing the use of the word “cool” in an attack ad launched by Karl Rove’s Crossroads GPS superPAC.

“There’s an ad, talking about [how] the president is too cool, [asking] is he too cool? And there’s this music that reminds me of, you know, some of the blaxploitation films from the 70s playing in the background, him with his sunglasses,” Rye said. “And to me it was just very racially-charged. They weren’t asking if Bush was too cool, but, yet, people say that that’s the number one person they’d love to have a beer with. So, if that’s not cool I dont know what is.

She added that “even ‘cool,’ the term ‘cool,’ could in some ways be deemed racial [in this instance].”

Race baiting is the last refuge of an incompetent Party with an incompetent president, both of which are destroying this country. I mean, good grief, calling him “cool” is now racist? Does that mean the mostly liberal media is now racist? Hyper-leftist Chris Cillizza said that Barack Obama is coo. Mitt Romney is not. Throughout the 2008 election we were told that Obama was cool, while John McCain was an old fuddy duddy.

Obama has struggled during his first term because he’s the most incompetent president ever. He was completely unprepared to be president. He had Democrat control of Congress during his first two years and managed to put in place policies that completely stopped any economic recovery. He’s annoyed our allies and damaged our international credibility. He seems to enjoy the ability to personally give the green light to launch drone strikes. The United States has $5 trillion+ in new debt. GDP is stagnant. Unemployment has been above 8% for his entire term, and doesn’t seem to be getting better.

Democrats have no actual arguments regarding Obama’s terrible record, so they jump to the race card.

The Daley Gator says the bottom of the race baiting pool has been reached.

Phineas at Sister Toldjah: When you can’t control the narrative on the merits, call someone a racist.

Ed Driscoll: Incidentally, if we can’t call the president “cool” (and as Roger noted back in September, who would these days?), can we call him “pissy”?

Florida Files Suit Against DHS Over Voter Roll Purge

The big questions is, can anything be done prior to the November election on this lawsuit? Will Florida get the information they need to purge the Florida voter rolls of those who are not legally entitled to vote?

(The Hill) Florida Gov. Rick Scott (R) said he will sue the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to move forward with his controversial attempt to purge the voter rolls in his state of ineligible voters.

“I have a job to do to defend the right of legitimate voters,” Scott told Fox News on Monday. “We’ve been asking for the Department of Homeland Security’s database, SAVE, for months, and they haven’t given it to us. So this afternoon, we will be filing a lawsuit, the secretary of State of Florida, against the Department of Homeland Security to give us that database. We want to have fair, honest elections in our state and we have been put in a position that we have to sue the federal government to get this information.”

Florida Secretary of State Ken Detzner produced the lawsuit, filed in Washington, D.C. district court on Monday, shortly after, along with a statement.

“For nearly a year, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security has failed to meet its legal obligation to provide us the information necessary to identify and remove ineligible voters from Florida’s voter rolls,” Detzner said. “We can’t let the federal government delay our efforts to uphold the integrity of Florida elections any longer. We’ve filed a lawsuit to ensure the law is carried out and we are able to meet our obligation to keep the voter rolls accurate and current.”

It begs the question, why has DHS been so unresponsive? Is it just sheer incompetence? The Central Government taking a long time to get anything done, as seems typical (think about that when we’re talking about Government being in charge of your health care!)? Or politics?

Republicans argue that state voter registration rolls are filled with noncitizens and others that are ineligible to vote. Democrats argue that the GOP is trying to strip voting rights from groups that tend to vote Democratic, and that there are only a handful of cases of voter fraud of the kind the GOP seeks to root out.

Well, yes, we do want to strip the ability to vote from those who are not US citizens, and these illegal aliens would vote Democrat, as it is primarily Democrats who want to provide them with amnesty. Also, convicted felons. Consider how often Democrats have attempted to, and actually succeeded, in blocking overseas American military member from having their votes counted. Many were discarded in the last three presidential elections, which is what Democrats wanted, since the military mostly votes Republican.

Democrats constantly complain about voter fraud. Yet, when it comes to actually stopping it, they balk at measures. They’ve pitched a fit over requiring ID. But, don’t forget to bring your ID if you plan on attending the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte. It’s required.

These People Think You’re Stupid: Carney Claims Obama “Private Sector Doing Fine” Taken Out Of Context

I usually attribute that “these people think you’re stupid” when it comes to globull warming, but, this sure fits the bill. Via Ace we find out

In context, Obama said the private economy was adding jobs, cited some figure for that, asserted the “private sector is doing fine,” then said the problem is in state and local government’s layoffs of public sector workers.

Indeed, Carney repeats all that here, minus the “private sector is doing fine” quote.

Obama’s words aren’t being taken out of context– the “context” is that he was making just this very argument, that the public sector is the troubled one, and the private sector is healthy.

At any rate, the reporter wants to know if Obama himself will refuse to take an “unflattering” sentence of Romney’s and then pounce on it. Carney refuses to answer the “hypothetical.”

Carney also says reporters should “do their jobs” and report context.

In context, as I posted the other day, from the White House transcript (scrubbed of all the ahs, ums, and ers, of course)

Q    What about the Republicans saying that you’re blaming the Europeans for the failures of your own policies?

THE PRESIDENT:  The truth of the matter is that, as I said, we’ve created 4.3 million jobs over the last 27 months, over 800,000 just this year alone.  The private sector is doing fine. Where we’re seeing weaknesses in our economy have to do with state and local government — oftentimes, cuts initiated by governors or mayors who are not getting the kind of help that they have in the past from the federal government and who don’t have the same kind of flexibility as the federal government in dealing with fewer revenues coming in.

The rest of the answer to the question is Blaming Republicans. That’s the context. He is certainly correct about state and local governments, because revenue is way down due to high unemployment, low property values, people not buying that much property (cars, homes, boats, among others) to feed the coffers, buying lower cost property, not buying as many goods, looking for bargains, and so on. Democrats really do not like being quoted in context.

Moose Population Declining Due To Climate Change And More Predators, But Mostly More Predators

In the last 20 years, the moose population in the northern Midwest has declined. Researchers believe this may be due to climate change and warmer temperatures as well as an increase in the number of predators to moose.

I’d put my money on the predators being the major cause. If moose can’t deal with a massive 1.4 F increase in temperatures, perhaps they should be relegated to the ash heap of history.

Whether in the opening credits of Northern Exposure or in the fictional town of Frostbite, Minn., moose are most often associated with cold climates.

But Bullwinkle could become a rarity in Minnesota, as the moose population continues to decline.

“We’ve been seeing a long term population decline since 1990,” said Seth Moore, director of Biology and Environment for the Grand Portage Band of Chippewa in Minnesota. “We’re seeing lower number of bulls compared to cows, we’re seeing fewer calves on the landscape. So, we’re trying to determine what the causes are for the population decline. We’re concerned that moose are going in the same direction as the polar bear populations in the Arctic, and we hope that we can be effective before the population decline has gone too far.”

Part of the reason Moore believes the declining moose population may be similar to that of the polar bear has to do with climate change. He said the Chippewa area saw the lowest snow fall numbers in years. He referred to it as a “non-winter.”

We’re doomed! Except the polar bear populations are increasing and doing just fine.

And then we find out that the populations of wolves are up, who eat moose. And deer populations are way up, which increase parasites which end up in the moose. Of course, nowhere in the story are they able to prove that any warming since 1990 is caused by Mankind. You’re just supposed to infer it. I wonder how moose survived during the much warmer periods that occurred over the past 7,000 years?

New Alarmist Research Blames Mankind For Massive Rise In Sea Temps

(Radio Australia)Australian based co-author, Dr John Church from Australia’s island state of Tasmania says there’s no way all of the world’s oceans could’ve warmed by one tenth of a degree Celsius without human impact.

I warned you.

He says nature only accounts for 10 per cent of the increase.

Dr Church says researchers from America, Australia, Japan and India examined a dozen different models used to project climate change, past studies have only looked at a couple at a time.

“And this has allowed the group to rule out that the changes are related to natural variability in the climate system,” he said.

So, we’re all going to die because of 1/10 of a degree, which cannot be blamed on that big nuclear furnace in the sky according to computer models.
