Voters Brave Rain and Snow in Polling Lines
Wisconsin voters will deal with a wintry mix of rain and snow as they head to the election polls around the state.
An inch or more of snow is forecast for northern Wisconsin, with cold rain to the south. It could be the coldest and rainiest weather in Wisconsin in more than three decades of presidential elections.
Wait, I thought snow was a thing of the past? There’s also a chance of snow from D.C. all up the East coast, including Philly, NJ, and NY.

Using the Real Clear Politics map maker, this is what I think will happen. In this scenario, Romney can lose Pennsylvania, but must win Ohio and Virginia. Colorado and Wisconsin are simply extras if he wins New Hampshire. Romney will win Florida and NC handily.

…is an ocean rising up to swamp the world’s worst carbon offender, you might just be a Warmist

The blog of the day is Right Wing News, with an all day long live blogging the election post.
This post will stay at the top all day, and, below the fold, a list of other great election day posts which I’ll attempt to update using the Droid smartphone throughout the day
More to come.
EVERYBODY PANIC!!!!!!!!!!! (via Tom Nelson)
(Hyperventilating American) But the more than 74-mile-per-hour winds’ most enduring impact…
No, sorry, that would be wind gusts. Scientific fail #1. And the author David Biello, provides more fail through mentioning it a few more times, including “boasting sustained winds above 74 mph.” No. The closest buoy had it at about 60mph. But, that’s not really what I want to mention. This is the funny part
Yet, Superstorm Sandy’s massive flooding is already unprecedented in recent decades. According to experts, however, it is only going to become more likely in coming decades, thanks to a combination of local geography, vulnerable coastal development and already-happening sea-level rise as a result of climate change. In the future, it will not take a frankenstorm like Sandy to inundate the region. Given that reality, the best defense may be to accept the inevitability of flooding and prepare infrastructure to withstand it, as is common in other regions more historically prone to storm surge flooding. (big snip to page 3)
To fully protect Manhattan would require a flood wall that is tall, long and continuous, wrapping around the island on both sides, similar to the 16-kilometer-long, five-meter-high and nearly five-meter-thick (at its base) sea wall along the Galveston shorefront. In the aftermath of Hurricane Donna in 1960, such a sea wall actually was proposed for Coney Island—but never built. (little snip, still on page 3)
First, land rebounding farther north after the removal of the massive weight of Ice Age glaciers has caused the island of Manhattan itself to slowly sink. Second, at the same time, the oceans have risen by nearly three inches locally over the course of the 20th century, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
So, let me get this straight: we need to spend tens of billions of dollars (probably more) to build a 5 meter tall sea wall around Manhattan to protect against sea rise of…..3 inches? Seriously? And, if that’s all the measurable sea rise locally, big deal. The average sea rise over the past 7,000 years, since the sea rise from the end of the Little Ice Age slowed, is 6-8 inches per century. That’s an average that includes the myriad cool periods. One would think the rise would be more during a warm period.

Because this has never happened before, and, how dare the climate ever change! It’s supposed to be exactly the same every year
(Wildlife News) Politics aside, there are many reasons to believe the likelihood of wrong way, late season hurricanes like Sandy has changed (increased), and it is irreversible. In other words, it is too late to stop. The reason is this — the Arctic Ocean now melts almost completely in the summer and that greatly changes the jet stream. Many other changes have happened in addition to this hurricane.
You can believe whatever you want. But, can you prove it scientifically? Because right now you resemble Madame Zelda rather than Einstein.
The high Arctic is much warmer on land and at sea than it used to be just a generation ago. Now, the Arctic Ocean will not refreeze except for a meaningless couple feet in late winter. Its deep blue waters will soak up more of the sun’s heat and make the Arctic warmer still. Melting permafrost is releasing billions of tons of carbon dioxide and methane gas.
Strange how the Antarctic is never mention, because it has been above normal for damned near a year. Oh, I’m sorry, I forgot that cold is covered by the Warmists
People think climate change means warmer temperatures. It is not so simple. Yes, the average temperature will probably rise, but more importantly the variations of the temperature around the mean temperature have grown in size.
A freaking religion, not a scientific endeavor.
