Archbishop Of Wales Uses Easter Sermon To Preach About “Climate Change”

Well, obviously that’s one of the main reasons God sacrificed his only Son!

(Wales Online) Climate change disaster can be combated by people living by the values of Jesus Christ, the Archbishop of Wales has said.

In his Easter sermon at Llandaff Cathedral, Dr Barry Morgan called on worshippers to  make fundamental changes to their way of life in order to protect the planet for future generations.

He said the increasing extreme weather patterns in the UK and abroad meant Christians needed to take climate change and its effects seriously and respond, not bury their heads in the sand.

Dr Morgan said: “The Resurrection is also about the transformation of the universe. That being the case, not only must we care for one another, we must also have a care for God’s world as well.

“That is why, as Christians, we have to take climate change and its effects seriously. Rising global temperatures are causing droughts, melting glaciers, warming of permafrost, heat waves and coastal floods in almost every part of the world.  Already this year we have seen extreme weather patterns, not just in distant far flung places where it is nothing new, but here in Wales and the rest of the UK – this is no longer someone else’s problem. It is ours.

I bet the parishioners thought they were going to get a sermon about forgiveness and solidarity, something about the meaning of Easter as discussed in the Bible, not a political speech

“We need to make fundamental changes to our lifestyle by living and working sustainably. That means promoting social justice and equality through Fair Trade, foodbanks, outward giving, night shelters and helping those in need; leading communities on ideas and learning about sustainable living; and seeking to reduce the use of resources through recycling, car sharing or making our graveyards havens for wildlife.

Now, most of those ideas are not necessarily bad ones, but notice that Dr. Morgan has to wrap them around the banner of “climate change”. Interestingly, when it comes to charity and helping those in need, it is the Skeptics who tend to be much more charitable with their own time and money. Most Warmist lean politically Left, and they expect Government to handle it. They don’t give their own time and money.

And they also do not actually live their lives in accordance with their cultish beliefs.

“Our task now is to live by the values of His risen life – to bring about God’s kingdom on earth as it is in Heaven.  And that is good news for all people and for the whole of creation.”

Those values did not include forcing Other People to have their lives changed by Government, to have Big Government decree what people can do, to being taxed out the ying yang, all the things Warmists push, which, also, interestingly, includes a push to diminish and eliminate religiosity and replace it with the State as the Church.

(Fox News) This is the culmination of the Gospel, it is the Good News par excellence: Jesus, who was crucified, is risen! This event is the basis of our faith and our hope. If Christ were not raised, Christianity would lose its very meaning; the whole mission of the Church would lose its impulse, for this is the point from which it first set out and continues to set out ever anew. The message which Christians bring to the world is this: Jesus, Love incarnate, died on the cross for our sins, but God the Father raised him and made him the Lord of life and death. In Jesus, love has triumphed over hatred, mercy over sinfulness, goodness over evil, truth over falsehood, life over death.

Perhaps Dr. Barry should have followed the Pope, who seems to know what Easter is about.

God’s Climate Plan Or Something

Here’s the second part of the Warmist’s Easter climate change nuttiness. This most definitely deserved its own post, as US News and World Report goes bat guano insane

God’s Climate Plan

God would not be happy with climate change skeptics.

I think we can all understand that this is another attempt to shut down debate, aimed at religious folks. This is written by David Jenkins of Conservatives for Responsible Stewardship, which seems anything but conservative. Jenkins wrote last month that Bob Dole is conservative, but Ted Cruz isn’t. He also wrote, again at the far left Huffington Post, that Tea Party members should not be referred to as conservatives. There’s nothing wrong with environmental conservation: as a matter of fact, it seems Conservatives are much more interested in overall conservation than liberals. Anthropogenic climate change? Not so much, since conservatives like to live in Reality Land, rather than focus on a fake issue.

With the confluence of Easter, Earth Day, and the latest report coming out from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), it is a good time to reflect on God’s climate plan and how His design should instruct our thinking and our actions.

In the book of Genesis (3:19), God told Adam that his body would return to the ground when he died, saying, “…out of it you were taken; For dust you are, And unto dust you shall return.” What many tend to overlook is that God was describing a fundamental part of the carbon cycle.

But we can’t stop there!

Much of that carbon stays in the cycle, but God in His infinite wisdom designed the carbon cycle to maintain the proper balance of carbon in the atmosphere — and in the oceans — by removing excess carbon and storing it underground in the form of oil, coal and other hydrocarbons.

When we extract oil and coal from the earth and burn it in ever increasing quantities, we disturb that natural balance by releasing that stored carbon from bygone eras back into the atmosphere as carbon dioxide during a much shorter time frame than would naturally occur. That upsets the carbon balance in the atmosphere, causing excess carbon dioxide to build up in the atmosphere, where it begins to trap too much of the Earth’s heat.

Does it not then stand to reason that God, after designing the Earth’s processes to sequester excess carbon and keep our atmosphere’s chemistry in balance, would prefer that we respect His creation and find better ways to heat our homes and power our cars than using huge amounts of oil and coal?

Refer back to the double facepalm.

BTW, please ask David on Twitter if he has given up his own use of fossil fuels, since use is “against God’s plan.”

Easter Is A Good Time For Warmists To Pimp Climate Change

Well, really, every holiday is an occasion for Warmists to pimp climate change

(Edmonton Sun) A blanket of snow may have put the brakes on an annual Easter tradition but the weather may have served to amplify the message it carried in another way.

About 300 people came to the Hope Mission in Edmonton on Good Friday prepared to take part in the yearly Way of the Cross, a walk that follows a route through the city’s downtown, stopping along the way to bring messages of social justice to participants and onlookers.

This year, though, snowy roads meant plans had to be changed.

“This is the first time in 34 years we had to do something different,” said Jim Gurnett, organizer of the walk. “The walking conditions were just too hazardous to have people do what we normally do.”

But…

“Each year we move to seven or eight locations, each speak to some social justice issue like homelessness or the environment or poverty and somebody gives a reflection focusing on that issue,” said Gurnett, who agreed the snow made those issues stand out even more than usual.

“Climate change is part of why maybe we get snowstorms in late-April,” he said, reflecting on one of the stop’s environmental messages.

But, wait, it continues!

Easter likely to become snow-free

A final spring skiing spree in the mountains remains the much-hyped and traditional way for Norwegians to spend their long Easter holidays. Climate researchers predict, however, that by 2030, there won’t be any snow for skiing even in some of the most popular areas of the mountains of southern Norway.

Good grief, these people are crazy.

Freedom From Religion Foundation Upset That Their Insulting Sign Was “Violently Mangled”

The Freedom From Religion Foundation is one of the more extreme Left wing religion hating groups. To use Leftist terminology, they are a hate group. They constantly butt in around the country regarding religious belief. These busybodies are Offended, so the rights of other people have to be infringed. And, like most leftist groups, instead of being respectful in their disagreement, they are insulting, rude, denigrating, divisive, and deranged

(The Blaze) An anti-Easter sign posted in the Wisconsin state Capitol by atheist activists was “violently mangled” and “mutilated,” according to the organization that displayed it.

“Nobody died for our sins. Jesus Christ is a myth,” read the sign that was posted Monday by the Freedom From Religion Foundation.

According to the Wisconsin-based group, a “fanatic” vandalized the poster Wednesday, though little information is known about the culprit.

“A man wrested [the] foamboard sign, which was securely taped to an easel, and violently mangled it in front of passersby,” a statement on the Freedom From Religion Foundation’s website said. “Capitol security was quickly summoned and gave chase, but the vandal got away.”

They put the sign back up in order to generate sympathy. While I do not condone the destruction of the sign, it’s simply a sign, and an insulting one at that. The FFRF has been destroying the ability of people of faith (meaning Christians and Jews, because the FFRF never seems to go after Muslims. Probably too scared to cross the “Religion of Peace”) to practice their religion in public, to put up any displays, etc. They are essentially attempting to do away with all religion in public view. These same anti-religion bigots whined to the Sun Prairie, Wis utility commission over the shutting of office for Good Friday, calling it “illegal”.

Christians look to celebrate Good Friday and Easter in a peaceful, respectful manner. These atheist groups like the FFRF look to force their views in a disrespectful, insulting manner. They are attempting the same thing in Chicago’s Daley Plaza

(Mediaite) On the other side of the argument was Faith and Freedom Foundation Deputy National Field Director Virginia Galloway, who said she thought it was “kind of sad” that during this week of religious celebration “we are attacked and denigrated.” She said, “They certainly have a right, a constitutional right to express their opinions and many good people have fought and died for that right for them as well as us, and I appreciate that.”

“But at the same time, it just seems kind of without class, kind of like the Westboro crowd and the things that they did,” Galloway continued, evoking the Christian protest group best known for picketing funerals with signs that say things like “God hates fags.” She added, “Sure, maybe they had a right to do it, but it just seems very wrong.”

It’s an apt comparison: both groups are heavily intolerant and nasty. The FFRF put up a nasty signed to elicit a response, and when they got one, they complain.

On a related note, I would highly recommend reading Thy Kingdom Fall by Austin Dragon, a scifi/political thriller based on the intentional destruction of religion around the world. It dovetails nicely into what these hardcore anti-religion hate groups are attempting to do.

Obama Punts Keystone XL Yet Again

Remember when the decision on Keystone XL would be in “months”? That was a few months ago. And the decision is to ….. punt. Here’s our Decider-in-chief

(Politico) The Obama administration says it is indefinitely extending its long-awaited review of the Keystone XL pipeline — providing a Good Friday jolt to one of the president’s most wrenching environmental decisions.

The move could easily push President Barack Obama’s final decision past the November election.

The State Department declined to specify how long the delay will last, saying only that it needs to extend its review because of an ongoing dispute in front of the Nebraska Supreme Court that could affect the project’s route inside the state. “We are moving ahead very diligently with all the other aspects that are necessary for the national interest determination,” a senior State Department official told reporters on a conference call.

I think we can all read between the lines here, this is Obama avoiding Making A Decision ahead of the mid-terms, and Sec State John Kerry, a big user of fossil fuels as he jets all over the world, wanting to kill the pipeline over “climate change”, despite the numerous studies, including by the State Department, that show that Keystone XL will have no effect on “climate change”. Delaying Keystone XL is simply a political decision, as even Climate Progress notes that there are many other pipelines which have been built recently and others which are being built, some which rival Keystone XL, some of which carry the same Canadian tar sands.

Green activists mostly welcomed the news, with climate activist and billionaire Tom Steyer greeting it as “rotten eggs” for pipeline builder TransCanada and “good news on Good Friday for those who oppose Keystone as not being in our nation’s best interest.”

But the delay drew immediate scorn from pipeline supporters on both sides of the aisle in Congress. Republicans derided it as a “shameful” concession to “radical activists,” while Democratic Senate energy Chairwoman Mary Landrieu called it “irresponsible, unnecessary and unacceptable.”

It’s good that Steyer is mentioned, being that he and his rich Big City buds have been instrumental in making sure that Obama makes no decision/cans Keystone. Steyer has no private jet, but does fly, and even paid for a fossil fueled plane to fly around Fenway Park during a game whine about Keystone XL. He owns lots of cows, which are supposedly Bad for “climate change”.

Both of Alaska’s senators condemned the move. Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowski, the ranking member on the Energy and Natural Resources Committee, called the delay “a stunning act of political cowardice,” and Democratic Sen. Mark Begich said he was “frankly appalled at the continued foot-dragging by this administration.” Begich, like Landrieu, faces a tough reelection fight this year.

And if either or both win re-election, they will most likely switch and oppose Keystone XL.

(Fox News) “It’s absolutely ridiculous that this well over five year long process is continuing for an undetermined amount of time,” Sen. Heidi Heitkamp, D-N.D., said in a statement.

Republican Nebraska Rep. Lee Terry called the decision “shameful,” noting that another spring construction season will come and go without the project.

Remember the days when Americans could just do business, could build things without Government control?

European Commission To Make Your Coffee Machine Climate Friendly

(No Tricks Zone) The Austrian daily Der Standard here reports that a new European eco-design directive will switch off coffee machines after five minutes. The directive will go into effect on January 1, 2015. Commercial coffee makers will be exempted.

Already harsh criticism is mounting. Some German conservative politicians say that the EU “should focus more on really important issues.” Moreover, the German business association UV Nord criticizes the “regulation madness” of the EU.

But the EU commission defends the move, claiming that it does not regulate the coffee machines in general, but rather only their warming function.

Fortunately, it will be left up to the manufacturer whether they want to include a switch which can reset the 5 minutes for the warmer. How magnanimous! Can you imagine getting up every 4 minutes to hit the button? All Warmists should be required to replace their old coffee machines with the new ones.

Hillary Tells Illegal Demanding Stuff That She’s Brave

When I write and say that it’s not our immigration system that’s broken, but our politicians and political system that are broken, the following is what I mean. That, and that illegals might be better accepted if they weren’t all demanding

(Daily Mail) A 19-year-old college student announced for the first time Thursday that she was an undocumented immigrant while addressing Hillary Clinton at an event in New York City.

Nova Bajamonti was picked to ask the former Secretary of State a question at a ‘No Ceilings’ event at the Lower Eastside Girls Club on Thursday.

‘For the first time publicly, I want to say that I am an undocumented immigrant,’ Ms Bajamonti said before tearing up.

She went on to explain that she moved to the United States when she was just 5 years old from Split, Serbia and that her status as an illegal immigrant keeps her from achieving many of her dreams.

‘I don’t have the documentation I need to get a job, to vote, which is essential to women’s representation, to buy an apartment, to take out a loan to go to college, so I couldn’t even go to my dream college because of that,’ she said. According to her Facebook profile, Ms Bajamonti attends Brooklyn College.

She was crying, and the audience was crying and cheering, and Hillary said

Here’s the thing: you’re here illegally. I can’t sympathize or empathize because you Should Not Be Here. We have this thing calked The Rule Of Law. Try going to most nations around the world and see how they would treat illegals. Mexico would throw you in jail.

Citizens might have some sympathy if you said you came to America because you love the nation, because you want to be part of America, you want to help America. That you’ll pay fines and back taxes and do it the way those who come legally do it.

Instead, you’re sitting there whining and Demanding!!!!! that America give you stuff, let you vote, pay your schooling, give you a job.

Get the hell out of here before I call INS.

Oh, wait, what she actually said

The former first lady and presidential hopeful, then took the microphone and praised Ms Bajamonti for her act of courage.

‘That was incredibly brave, and I thank you for doing that because it is important to put ourselves in other people’s shoes,’ Clinton said.

No, it’s important to uphold the law. Sadly, what Hillary said is something that elected politicians and both sides would say.
