Could this be the Trump effect, stopping all the criminals and parasites from coming in? Maybe getting them out of the UK?

UK plans to end ‘failed free market experiment’ in immigration

The British government outlined plans on Sunday to end what it called the “failed free market experiment” in mass immigration by restricting skilled worker visas to graduate-level jobs and forcing businesses to increase training for local workers.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is under pressure to cut net migration after the success of Nigel Farage’s right-wing, anti-immigration Reform UK party in local elections this month.

Under the government’s new plans, skilled visas will only be granted to people in graduate jobs, while visas for lower-skilled roles will only be issued in areas critical to the nation’s industrial strategy, and in return businesses must increase training of British workers.

The Labour government said the changes will be part of a policy document, known as a white paper, to be published on Monday setting out how ministers plan to reduce immigration.

After Britain eventually left the EU in 2020, the then Conservative government reduced the threshold to allow workers in categories such as yoga teachers, dog walkers and DJs to be eligible for skilled worker visas.

“We inherited a failed immigration system where the previous government replaced free movement with a free market experiment,” Yvette Cooper, the British interior minister, said in a statement. “We are taking decisive action to restore control and order to the immigration system.”

Are you getting the idea that this only applies to productive people, ones who contribute, who aren’t on the public dole and looking to change the UK into something else?

Net migration, or the number of people coming to Britain minus the number leaving, rose to a record 906,000 people in the year to June 2023, up from the 184,000 people who arrived in the same period during 2019, when Britain was still in the EU.

So, nothing about kicking out all those who do not contribute? Those who simply showed up and said “I’m here, where’s my free stuff”?

Today in England there are over 3,000 mosques, there are over 130 Sharia courts in England and there are more than 50 Sharia councils.

78% of Muslim women do not work and receive state support and free accommodation. 63% of Muslims do not work and receive state support and free housing state supported. Muslim families have an average of six to eight children who all receive free accommodation.

Every school in the UK is required to teach about Islam. the No. 1 most common baby name in England is Muhammad.

This is not immigration this is invasion”

But, the government has no intention of booting them out.

Bummer: States Sue Over Trump Admin Freezing Charging Station Funds

I’m not so sure why they are upset Mayor Pete barely built any while serving under Biden

US states sue over Trump freeze on funds for electric-vehicle charging stations

California and 15 other states sued the Trump administration on Wednesday, saying the federal government was illegally withholding billions of dollars awarded to states for building electric-vehicle charging stations.

The U.S. Transportation Department in February suspended the EV charging program and rescinded approval of state plans pending a review.

Senate Democrats said President Donald Trump was withholding more than $3 billion from the program, which was approved as part of former President Joe Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act.

The lawsuit, joined by the District of Columbia, New York, New Jersey and Colorado among others, was filed in U.S. District Court in Washington State.

The states said the administration’s decision “will devastate the ability of states to build the charging infrastructure necessary for making EVs accessible to more consumers, combating climate change, reducing other harmful pollution, and supporting the states’ green economies.”

Well, why can’t they use their own taxpayer money to build them? Surely they can get The Rich in those states to pay, right? And the peasants won’t mind paying for the chargers as good little Liberals, right? All mostly Dem states, Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, Wisconsin, Vermont, Washington, and the District of Columbia.

President Trump’s illegal action withholding funds for electric vehicle infrastructure is yet another Trump gift to China – ceding American innovation and killing thousands of jobs.

Instead of hawking Teslas on the White House lawn, President Trump could actually help Elon – and the nation – by following the law and releasing this bipartisan funding.

You know what would be really funny, once a Democrat judge says the money must be spent? To spend all the money building EV charging stations in Republican states. The bullshit Inflation Reduction Act never said what states the money had to be spent in, you know.

And Gavin can spend California money building the chargers. It’s not like the Biden admin did such a great job building them. A grand total of 58 by the time he left office.

India And Pakistan Edge Closer To Full Scale War

India and Pakistan edge closer to war as nuclear-armed rivals trade strikes

India and Pakistan appeared to be edging closer to war on Saturday, as the two nuclear-armed nations both claimed they were provoked by the other before launching strikes against military assets in their rival countries.

Early Saturday, Pakistan’s armed forces said they targeted military sites inside India in response to an Indian missile attack at three air bases in Pakistan’s Punjab province. Hours later, India said its attack — which it claimed had hit four military bases in Pakistan — was in response to Pakistan attacking its civilian infrastructure.

Before Pakistan’s military action early Saturday, Pakistan’s chief military spokesman, Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, said India had targeted Nur Khan air base in Rawalpindi, Murid air base in Chakwal and Rafiqui air base near Shorkot with air-to-surface missiles. Most of the missiles, he said in a later appearance, were intercepted and there were no casualties or damage.

India’s actions, he said, were “pushing the whole region toward dangerous war,” and vowed a firm response. (snip)

The Indian government dismissed Pakistan’s claims of destruction of Indian military capacities, including damage to the country’s critical infrastructure such as power systems, as “completely false.” “It is Pakistani actions that have constituted provocation and escalation,” India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said in a late morning news briefing.

Every day this seems to escalate more and more between two countries that despise each other. And have nuclear weapons

Foreign ministers of the Group of Seven nations on Friday issued a call for de-escalation and said the two countries should “engage in direct dialogue towards a peaceful outcome.”

Good sentiment, but, they hate each other

“There is no real historical precedent for what we’re seeing unfold,” said Asfandyar Mir, a senior fellow at the Stimson Center, a D.C.-based think tank. “We are now at a critical height on the escalation ladder.”

I’m rather surprised that no articles discuss what full scale war looks like between the nations.

(Metro UK) In 2019, a team of scientists investigated how a nuclear war between the two countries could start – and what the consequences could be for the rest of the world.

The direct effects of a nuclear exchange in India and Pakistan themselves would be apocalyptic.

Depending on the precise number of weapons used and their respective yields, anywhere between 50 million and 150 million people would be killed.

That is not to mention the cities obliterated, the millions more injured with no hope of immediate help, and the destruction of major infrastructure.

A slightly antiseptic way of saying this would be horrible

Which could cause serious problems with food production around the world, for one. And then all the nuclear fallout. Which could all result in one to two billion being killed around the world. Pakistan has 170 nuclear weapons and India has 164

The study estimates that 95 to 100% of the population would be left starving in Canada.

In Russia, the figure is 75 to 95%, while the proportion of people left starving in China was projected as 50% and 25% in the United States.

So, when JD Vance said this is not the problem of the U.S., which Karoline Leavitt contradicted in calling for de-escalation, he was wrong. This has world wide implications.

Bummer: Majority Of Britons Want Net Zero Scrapped

Eh, it’s kinda unscientific, since it is a web poll, but, come on, how scientific are so many polls taken by pollsters? (via Watts Up With That?, which has a screenshot of the numbers being 95% for scrapping it)

Ed Miliband has long been one of Westminster’s most vocal advocates for Britain’s net zero agenda. But his vision of a green future is increasingly coming up against a less forgiving reality.

This week, we asked readers: Should the UK scrap its 2050 net zero target? A resounding 95 per cent of over 26,000 respondents said yes.

Telegraph readers’ reasons ranged from economic survival to energy security and a growing frustration with what many see as climate policy detached from common sense. Here’s why you believe the time has come to pull the plug.

For many, net zero has become synonymous with financial burden – rising energy bills, increased costs for businesses and pressure on household budgets.

“If the Government wants to grandstand about cutting the UK’s one per cent share of global emissions, fine,” says Russ Hindle. “But don’t hike our energy bills – do it slower, cheaper and pay for it yourself.”

See, every experiment needs an experimental group. Initially, Brits thought this was great, but, now that they have had to live it, they aren’t too thrilled, to say the least.

Newark’s Mayor Arrested at Protest Outside ICE Detention Center

Federal officials arrested Ras J. Baraka, the mayor of Newark, on Friday after a confrontation that also involved three members of Congress at a new immigration detention facility that is expected to play a central role in President Trump’s mass deportation effort.

Mr. Baraka, a Democrat who is running for governor, was taken to a separate federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in Newark, where he was still being held hours after the arrest. A large crowd of supporters was gathered outside waiting for information about when he would be released.

A few Dem wacko congresscritters were allowed in to participate with their stunt of supporting illegals. Bad ones. More on that in a minute

Mr. Baraka was allowed past the front gate, but was not allowed to accompany the members of Congress inside, according to a video taken by Viri Martinez, an immigration activist who witnessed the arrest.

“Congressmen are different, congresswomen are different,” a Homeland Security Investigations agent told the mayor, the video shows. The agent added: “That is the last warning. You will be placed under arrest.”

If they do not prosecute him then there is a problem with the justice system. But, you can bet some leftist prosecutor or judge will let him off.

DHS has stated that Delaney Hall in New Jersey is full of alleged killers, MS-13 gang members and child rapists. And other criminals. This is who Democrats are trying to protect.

Bummer: Trump Admin Ends Climate (scam) Partnership With U Of Washington

Trump administration pulls plug on UW climate research partnership

climate cowThe Trump administration has ended a climate research program hosted at the University of Washington that helps communities in the Northwest adapt to extreme heat, drought and other threats from climate change.

The UW’s Climate Impacts Group, which relies on federal support and hosts the program, said in a Thursday statement that the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration ended its grant award for the research in a Monday letter.

Did they ever consider that it is not a good idea to rely so much on federal taxpayer money? Because administrations change

The program, called the Northwest Climate Resilience Collaborative, has developed a plan to reduce illness and save lives in extreme heat in the wake of the 2021 heat dome, has built an air-quality dashboard to mitigate the health impacts of wildfire smoke and has expanded drinking-water testing and filtration in rural Oregon, among other things.

I made the mistake of reading their plan, which boiled mostly down to “give government lots and lots of power and taxpayer money.” Drinking water? Has nothing to do with ‘climate change’. But, researching, it also calls for more Big Government, this time for rural Oregon which votes Republican, and they want to control.

The Climate Impacts Group has hosted the program since 2021 and funding was set to run through August 2026.

NOAA was a specific target in Project 2025, a conservative blueprint created by the Heritage Foundation and intended for the second Trump administration. The document called the agency “one of the main drivers of the climate change alarm industry.”

Maybe they shouldn’t have been so cultish and dictatorial.

The May 5 letter from the acting director of NOAA’s Grants Management Division states the program funding was axed as “part of efforts to streamline and reduce the cost and size of the Federal Government.”

We don’t need to pay for it. But, hey, if Oregon and Washington state want to, have at it.
