Spokane NAACP Head Living Lie As Black Woman, Offers Incredible Weasel Defense

I think it is high time we have a National Conversation!!!!! on people living as someone they’re not

(Spokesman-Review) Controversy is swirling around one of the Inland Northwest’s most prominent civil rights activists, with family members of Rachel Dolezal saying the local leader of the NAACP has been falsely portraying herself as black for years.

Dolezal, 37, avoided answering questions directly about her race and ethnicity Thursday, saying, “I feel like I owe my executive committee a conversation” before engaging in a broader discussion with the community about what she described as a “multi-layered” issue.

“That question is not as easy as it seems,” she said after being contacted at Eastern Washington University, where she’s a part-time professor in the Africana Studies Program. “There’s a lot of complexities … and I don’t know that everyone would understand that.”

Later, in an apparent reference to studies tracing the scientific origins of human life to Africa, Dolezal added: “We’re all from the African continent.”

That right there has to be a nominee for the best Weasel Speak of the year. The judges give it a solid 9.7.

Dolezal is credited with re-energizing the Spokane chapter of the NAACP. She also serves as chairwoman of the city’s Office of Police Ombudsman Commission, where she identified herself as white, black and American Indian in her application for the volunteer appointment, and previously was education director for the Human Rights Education Institute in Coeur d’Alene.

Her mother claims Czech, Swedish and German ancestory.

Rachel Dolezal dismisses the controversy as little more than an ugly byproduct of contentious litigation between other family members over allegations of past abuse that has divided the family. She’s particularly suspicious of the timing, noting that the allegations broke on her son’s birthday and come as the Colorado lawsuit filed by her sister against their brother nears a key juncture.

Her mother states that it came up when she was asked by local media. As for the controversy, City Hall is opening an investigation, since she essentially lied on her application to the Office of Police Ombudsman Commission. She has also been accused of manufacturing hate crimes. Eastern Washington University is doing what they can to distance itself from the issue.

Perhaps Ms. Dolezal and Elizabeth “Fauxahontas” Warren can get together for some afternoon tea.

Good News: We’re All Deniers

Especially you members of the Cult of Climastrology. So says Oliver Burkeman

We’re all climate change deniers at heart

At yesterday’s summit in Bavaria, the G7 leading industrial nations agreed to phase out fossil fuels by the end of the century. It’s easy to be cynical about these things, but these official goals really matter. And one big reason is this: in the absence of intergovernmental action, we are hopelessly ill-equipped to deal with this problem as individuals.

In fact, if a cabal of evil psychologists had gathered in a secret undersea base to concoct a crisis humanity would be hopelessly ill-equipped to address, they couldn’t have done better than climate change. We’ve evolved to respond more vigorously to threats that are immediate and easy to picture mentally, rather than those that are distant and abstract; we’re more sensitive to intentional threats from specific humans, rather than unintentional ones resulting from collective action; we’re terrible at making small sacrifices in the present to avoid vast ones in future; our attention is seized by phenomena that change daily, rather than those that ratchet up gradually over years.

And should it dawn on us that our behaviours don’t match our beliefs – that we’re not doing our bit to save the planet, even though we think we should – we find it far easier to adjust the belief (downgrading the importance of climate change) than the behaviour (flying less, having fewer children).

Got that? By failing to match your lives with your (supposed) belief sets, Warmists are really denying that they believe in climate change caused mostly/solely by the actions of Mankind.

Go back to the first paragraph, though, and notice the Progressive (nice fascist) doctrine: Government must be allowed the power to force citizens to comply with the Cult’s beliefs. Each and every day the Warmists expose their agenda, along with their hypocrisy.

EPA Clean Power Plan: Guess Who Gets Hurt The Most?

If you said “the poor and minorities”, you’d be right. Harry Alford, the president and CEO of the National Black Chamber of Commerce, provides the details

(IBD) The Obama administration, the Environmental Protection Agency and environmental activists frequently claim that climate change will disproportionately affect poor and minority communities.

This, they argue, justifies unprecedented environmental regulations like the EPA’s soon-to-be-finalized “Clean Power Plan” to cut U.S. greenhouse gas emissions by 30% by 2030.

But what effect will the regulation itself have on minority communities? A new study commissioned by my organization, the National Black Chamber of Commerce, answers this question.

The Clean Power Plan will lead to lost jobs, lower incomes and higher poverty rates for the 128 million blacks and Hispanics living in America. This should serve as a warning to federal and state lawmakers as they prepare for this sweeping regulation to go into effect in the coming months.

The cost of energy will skyrocket, which will effect the poor the most, and particularly minorities.

The study estimates that this single regulation will cause cumulative job losses for blacks and Hispanics of roughly 7 million and 12 million, respectively, over the next 20 years. Over the same time period, black families can expect their annual incomes to fall by $455, while Hispanics will take home $515 less per year.

This regulation will also impose higher costs of living, which again hit minority families the hardest. Today, blacks spend 10% more of their income on housing, 20% more on food, 40% more on clothing and 50% more on utilities than do white families.

Similar disparities exist for Hispanics: 5% more on housing, 10% more on utilities, 40% more on clothing and fully 90% more on food.

Why do Warmists, who are mostly middle and upper income White leftists, hate poor minorities? Let’s be clear, I do not mean that in any sarcastic nor facetious manner. Liberalism hurts minorities, especially Blacks. We see what happens to lower income Blacks in Democrat urban areas. We see how leftist policies tend to keep Blacks poor and downtrodden, beholden to The Government (really, the Democratic party). We see what the destruction of the family, immorality, over-sexualization, abortion on demand, and so many other Leftist policies have done to Blacks, and other minorities. The Cult Of Climastrology is going to hurt them even more.

The study estimates that the regulation will increase black and Hispanic poverty by 23% and 26%, respectively.

Anyone think Warmists really care? A rhetorical question, obviously.

Baltimore Cops: Public Wanted Softer Police Presence, They Got It

This is a case of the age old wisdom “be careful what you wish for. You might get it”

(Mediaite) Two Baltimore police officers spoke through voice-altering technology to CNN’s Brooke BaldwinWednesday morning, telling her that cops are in a “reactionary mode” since the criticism of the department over the death of Freddie Gray while in police custody.

Violence has spiked in Baltimore since a supposed “police slowdown,” in which officers pull back from their duties when they feel a lack of city and community support. The officers said police are still responding to emergency requests, but have stopped initiating policing, instead retreating into a “reactionary mode.”

“Even though you have reasonable suspicion…nine out of 10 times, that officer is going to keep on driving,” one officer said.

“The criminal element feels as though that we’re not going to run the risk of chasing them if they are armed with a gun, and they’re using this opportunity to settle old beefs, or scores, with people that they have conflict with,” the officer said. “I think the public really, really sees that they asked for a softer, less aggressive police department, and we have given them that, and now they are realizing that their way of thinking does not work.”

Crime was already high in Democrat run Baltimore. Neighborhood Scout ranks Baltimore as a 3, meaning that it is safer than just 3 percent of US cities. The violent crime rate is 14.28 per 1,000 residents. The national average is 3.8. There’s a 1 in 70 chance of being a victim of a violent crime in Baltimore. The property crime rate is double the US rate. All of this was occurring when police were being proactive. What will it be now that the BPD has given the people what they want?

Who does this hurt the most? The very people who learn to hate the police and have been railing against the police the most, the Black community of Baltimore, where the crime rate is the highest. And now going higher. The vast majority of the murders, shootings, stabbings, and other violent crime is occurring in the Black reservations that Democrats, who have controlled the city since the late 1960’s, have created in Baltimore. They wanted a softer police presence, now they have it. And it’s not working out so well.

Paul Ryan Slips Anti-Climate Provision Into Obama Trade Deal

For the most part, Paul Ryan and Congressional Republicans have been pretty bad when it comes to what is being termed “Obamatrade”. Not all of them, but, enough. Supposedly, there is a provision in the deal that increases amnesty for illegals. Jeff Sessions is warning that this will create the Pacific version of the European Union. Democrats hate this deal because

According to the Wikileaks release, TISA, as the deal is known, would take a major step towards deregulating financial industries, and could affect everything from local maritime and air traffic rules to domestic regulations on almost anything if an internationally traded service is involved.

The pact would be one of three enormous deals whose passage through Congress could be eased with passage of Trade Promotion Authority, also known as fast-track authority. The Senate has passed fast-track, and it could be taken up in the House this month.

The other giant pacts are the Trans-Pacific Partnership covering a dozen Pacific Rim nations and the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership targeted at Europe.

Like lots of big, big bills, especially done in utter secrecy, this one has things that people will love and people will loathe. Like

(Huffington Post) A measure that would excuse the U.S. from any trade deal obligations to address climate change adds a fresh wrinkle to the tense debate in the House over President Barack Obama’s trade agenda.

House Democrats opposing legislation that would grant Obama fast-track authority to funnel trade deals through Congress are pressuring undecided members of their caucus, pointing to the anti-climate language as reason enough to vote no.

The House is poised to vote on a package of trade bills, including fast-track authority for Obama, as early as Friday. Three additional trade bills will be considered, including a customs enforcement bill. Within the customs bill is the anti-climate language added by Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), who has acted as the administration’s go-to person in the House on trade. Unless that language is first changed by the Rules Committee, it will stay in the bill. (snip)

Ryan offered the climate amendment to appeal to Republican concerns that Obama might use his trade powers to act on climate change. The measure would “ensure that trade agreements do not require changes to U.S. law or obligate the United States with respect to global warming or climate change.”

Ryan explained the language during a Rules Committee meeting Wednesday evening.

“It’s just making sure that if the administration wants to go down a path of seeking legislative changes in climate or immigration, they can’t do it through trade agreements,” Ryan said.

This has upset many Democrats, most, if not all, of whom have failed to give up their own use of fossil fuels and gone “carbon neutral”. It still shouldn’t be a reason for vote for fast track authority, and the trade pacts should be out in the open for all to see. Still, if it has to go through, removing the ability to make any part of it about “climate change” is worthwhile.

Teen Who Aggressively Moved Toward Officer Was Just Trying To Calm Girl Being Detained Or Something

It’s interesting how the media seems to be mostly interviewing the attendees of the illegal party, the ones who were breaking the law, rather than the legal residents. It’s all part of The Narrative

(USA Today/AP) Adrian Martin, the young man arrested outside a McKinney swimming pool Friday, said it scared him when he saw police Cpl. Eric Casebolt draw his gun and point it at him.

Martin, 18, is seen in the viral YouTube video trying to calm a black teenage girl being restrained by Casebolt, who is white. Police had responded to calls about a fight at the Craig Ranch North Community Pool in the affluent area of western McKinney, north of Dallas.

Martin said he doesn’t regret trying to approach the girl or running when Casebolt, 41, pulled his weapon.

Martin said he had been at the summer pool party for about an hour when police were called. “There was no drinking, no smoking, like other people have said there was. It was just a normal teenage party,” he said.

See, here’s the thing: that is a strawman. The complaints are about an illegal party, kids jumping over the pool fence, assaulting the security guard, refusing to leave when asked…..you know the story. Apparently, the Major Media doesn’t. Or, they just don’t want to tell it. Bet on the latter.

Martin and his lawyer maintain that Martin did nothing wrong, and that his only motive was to help calm the 15-year-old girl who was being aggressively subdued.

“So I shift to the side a little bit to get her to look at me in the face and say, ‘Look: We’re going to call your mom. It’s all right,’ because she’s shouting, ‘Call my momma! Call my momma!'”

At that point in the video, Casebolt is seen pulling out his gun. That’s when Martin takes off running.

Yeah. Sure. Now watch the video again, and seem him approach Officer Casebolt aggressively. Go to Youtube or wherever of the 7:19 minute video, go to 3:05, and watch. Casebolt, in my opinion, did over-react, but, then, I wasn’t there, in the situation. Nor were you. When a bunch of youths approach you in that manner, you react. Especially with all the fighting and failure to follow the legal directions of duly sworn law enforcement officials. Martin was charged, rightly with interfering with a police officer. Sadly, because of the Social Justice Warriors, the charge was dismissed.

“Yes, Let’s Have A Conversation On Climate Change”

The Calgary Herald’s Barry Cooper thinks that having a conversation would be a great thing

According to President Barack Obama, climate change is an American security problem.

As a follow-on to the 2012 Rio climate summit, which featured the iconic statue of Christ the Redeemer bathed in green light, the Pope is preparing an encyclical on climate change. Prior to the December climate summit in Paris, we can anticipate extravagant exhortations to save the planet. Such is the context for Premier Rachel Notley’s call for change in response to “the worldwide conversations around climate change.”

A conversation would indeed provide a contrast with the usual exchanges of vitriol. For the following reasons, it seems highly unlikely to occur.

First, there is the problem of the natural causes of climate change. So far as I can tell from contemporary studies, natural causes include solar and gravitational changes, volcanic and magnetic changes linked to plate tectonics, and cosmic radiation. There are cycles in ocean currents, including Dansgaard/Oeschger cycles in sea-ice cover, and Milankovitch cycles in the Earth’s tilt, motion around the sun, and so on. The periodicity of these cycles ranges from decades to millenniums.

In contrast, we have about two centuries of thermometer readings and 35 years of microwave sounding units to estimate global average temperatures. In terms of climate cycles, that’s worth about one data point.

The big problem, of course, is that Warmists, mostly part of the far left Progressive movement, do not want a conversation. Like with most issues, they want a soliloquy. You are either part of their beliefs set or you need to shut up. Even by “force”. Hence the reason for sayings like “the science is settled”. Hence the reason websites, including news organizations, shutting down all comments from those opposed to the Cult Of Climastrology. Nor allowing articles that have a skeptical viewpoint. Warmists want nothing to do with debating Skeptics, and rarely do. They will often bow out or leave a news set when confronted.

Patrick Moore, co-founder of Greenpeace, noted that, if there were proof that CO2 was a significant factor in global worming, it would be written down. It isn’t. The effects of CO2 are described as “likely” or “probable,” which reflect a judgment, not a proof. More precisely, they are statistical estimates that flow from models that in turn reflect assumptions governing their operations.

I’ve mentioned that same thing about using those words many, many times. As far as the models go, they have not only failed in prediction, they fail when applied to the past. Hence the need to constantly “adjust” the data.

Again, Warmists do not want a conversation, because actually having a conversation exposes the true agenda, which is not science, but politics, as I’ve written time and time again.

Social Justice Warriors Take Another Scalp: McKinney Police Officer Resigns

In yet another sad occurrence, another police officer has had their life ruined because of lawless behavior by citizens, behavior that is completely excused by the social justice warriors

(NY Times) A police officer in McKinney, Tex., who was seen on video pulling his gun on teenagers in swimsuits and shoving a young black girl’s face in the ground at a pool party has resigned, the police said Tuesday.

Cpl. David Eric Casebolt, who had been placed on administrative leave after the episode on Friday, remains under investigation, Chief Greg Conley said at a news conference. The corporal will keep his pension and benefits, the police chief said.

“Our policies, our training, our practice doesn’t support his actions,” Chief Conley said. “He came into the call out of control, and as the video shows was out of control during the incident.”

Of course, and as usual, not mentioned in the article is that the officers were called to this illegal party by the security guard at the pool, due to these kids running around, being extremely loud and rude, assaulting the security guard, accosting the members of the pool, jumping the pool fence, causing property damage, and fighting. When the duly sworn peace officers showed up, the kids continued to run around, fight, refused to listen to the officers, used foul language, challenged the authority of the officers, refused to disperse, and, when Casebolt had one of the offenders on the ground, who was continuing to resist, approached the officer in an aggressive manner, which caused him to pull his service weapon.

One adult man was arrested on charges of interfering with the duties of a police officer and evading arrest. Chief Conley said on Tuesday that those charges had been dismissed.

Where are the charges of, at the least, trespass, for all these kids? They broke the law? But, this is how it works in this nation now, where we turn cops into the lawbreakers and excuse the behavior of the lawbreakers, especially if they are of a particular color. No, I do not want to go racial. Let’s face it, it can’t be ignored. The SJWs went racial first. Why do they excuse criminal behavior by these kids? They do love turning cops into The Enemy. And then they whine when the cops aren’t there to protect the SJWs.

You can bet that the officers on the force have totally lost respect for the chief, after he threw Casebolt under the bus. Casebolt had to leave town due to threats to his life. Certainly from the same “peace loving” SJWs.

Are there bad cops out there? You bet. Casebolt wasn’t one of them. He responded to lawless behavior, and paid the price for having to deal with out of control youths. The SJWs always talk about coming together, working together, but, quickly jump to claim scalps. And use death threats. They could have worked with the officer, talked with the officer, “come together as a community” to make sure this didn’t happen again. But, that’s not the way things work in SJW Land. Scalps must be taken and lives must be ruined, while, in a case like this, all the others involved in criminal/hooligan behavior are excused.

Where’s our “national conversation” on excusing criminal behavior by out of control kids?
