Brain Eating Omeba Invading North Totes Due To Climate Change!

I blame people like Al Gore and Barack Obama for taking tons of fossil fueled travel

Fatal Brain Eating Amoeba Now Invading Northern US, Courtesy Climate Change

Global warming is pushing a dangerous brain eating amoeba north into the US, experts warn.

The recent death of a Minnesota teen has sparked debate whether warmer summers are facilitating survival of amoeba Naegleria fowleri in northern lakes and water holes. According to US News and World Report which quoted Dr Bruce Hirsch of North Shore University Hospital, NY, the ameba prefers warmer waters of the south but climate change is providing just that in northern regions which do not have a record of its presence until recent past.

Though dangerous, Naegleria fowleri infections are rare. There have only been 133 recorded cases of infections in the past five decades. Health officials recommend avoiding nasal rinsing and preventing water in untreated pools from entering the nose. Natural water bodies too are known to host the ameba.

Huh. Warmists are super worried about a few infections, yet, not concerned about the ever rising threat from radical Islam. But, hey, “climate change”!!!!!!!!

John Bolton: Obama’s Iran Deal Will Lead To War

Mr. Obama has been running around using his typical type strawman, namely that we have a choice between this really bad deal that gives the house away to Iran or war. Former Ambassador John Bolton writes in the LA Times that the deal actually makes war with Iran more likely

President Obama has made an art form of attacking his opponents rather than substantively defending his own policies, most recently regarding the Vienna agreement on Iran’s nuclear program. Essentially, Obama argues that we must either accept his wretched deal or go to war to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

As is typical, Obama posits the wrong choice, apparently to distract from the unpleasant reality that the agreement won’t work. It will not prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons. So the real choice we are faced with is dealing with the consequences of military action or the consequences of a nuclear Iran. Neither is palatable, but the latter is far worse. If the real objective is stopping Iran from getting nuclear weapons, preemptive military action is now inescapable.

Obviously, we all hope not. But, as Mr. Bolton notes, Iran has been cheating and blowing off sanctions for 30 years. What makes anyone think they will stop now? And, this “deal” only limits them for 8-10 years, at which point they can immediately resume all overt attempts to develop a nuclear weapon. What do we do when it is abundantly clear that they are developing a nuclear weapon, that they are close, and/or have already built them? Throw up our hands? Obama will be long out of office at that point. Will he blame himself? Will Democrats blame themselves, at least those who back this deal?

And, again, Liberals need to ask themselves: if this deal came from a Republican administration, would they be backing it, or would they look and say “holy cow, this a bad deal!”?

Some critics of Obama’s plan advocate scuttling the deal and increasing economic sanctions against Iran instead. They are dreaming. Iran and the United States’ negotiating partners have already signed the accords and are straining at their leashes to implement them. There will be no other “better deal.” Arguments about what Obama squandered or surrendered along the way are therefore fruitless. As for sanctions, they were already too weak to prevent Iran’s progress toward the bomb, and they will not be reset now. To paraphrase Bruce Springsteen, “These sanctions are going boys, and they ain’t coming back.”

That point stands on its own.

If diplomacy and sanctions have failed to stop Iran, diplomacy alone will fail worse. Like it or not, we now face this unpleasant reality: Iran probably will violate the deal; it may not be detected doing so and if detected, it will not be deterred by “snapback” sanctions. So we return to the hard question: Are we prepared to do what will be necessary to stop Iran from getting nuclear weapons?

Will we have the willpower? Will the “international community” of which Obama speaks so much about?

American weakness has brought us to this difficult moment. While we obsessed about its economic discomfort, Iran wore its duress with pride. It was never an even match. We now have to rely on a tiny ally to do the job for us. But unless we are ready to accept a nuclear Iran (and, in relatively short order, several other nuclear Middle Eastern states), get ready. The easy ways out disappeared long ago.

Obama had long talked about having discussions with Iran with no preconditions. Well, Iran had lots of conditions, and they won. Make sure to read the entire piece in full.

Woman Who Made Massive Fossil Fueled Travel An Accomplishment Really Worried About Climate Change

The question here is, is Hillary Clinton serious about “climate change”, or is she just pandering to the unhinged Lefty base? While she has included Hotcoldwetdry in negotiations and pronouncements previously, she has never seemed very passionate about the issue. During her time at State, it seemed more of a box check and an extension of Obama’s beliefs

(Bloomberg) Hillary Clinton on Sunday set two “bold national goals” to combat climate change, promising that if she’s elected president, she would set the United States on a path toward producing enough clean renewable to power every home in America within a decade.

She would also initiate a process that would bring the total number of solar panels installed nationwide to more than half a billion before the end of her first term, her campaign said in a fact sheet released Sunday as it also posted a video in which Clinton lays out her ambitions.

“We cannot wait any longer” to act on climate change, the Democratic front-runner says in the video. “It’s time we stand for a healthier climate, stand for cleaner air, for science, for innovation, for our children, for reality, for the future.”

Say, I wonder how many solar panels are on her homes? I’m betting she won’t answer. Right now, though, she has gone all in on this patronizing push

Nothing says “environmental concerns” like covering up the ground with solar panels and placing concrete pads (concrete is considered to be bad for climate change) for wind turbines despoiling nature.

Says the woman who flew almost a million miles during her tenure at State, and considered that to be a Major Accomplishment. And will take quite a bit of fossil fueled flights and auto travel as she runs for President.

Notice the cute little change of her “H” symbol

About a dozen orange-shirted members of NextGen Climate Iowa, the state branch of the super-PAC founded and funded by billionaire investor and climate activist Tom Steyer, watched Clinton speak on Sunday and then waited in line to pose for a group photo with Clinton. Steyer is using his wealth to support candidates and groups that back his approach to climate change, and has already given the primary maximum $2,700 to Clinton and hosted a fundraiser for her at his San Francisco home.

Ah. It’s about the outside money from uber-Warmist Tom Steyer. Her campaign will supposedly release more information on her invented positions in the months to come. I wonder if this will include giving lots of taxpayer money to companies, many of them backed by the Chinese government, that will fail?

Does she support solar and wind farms that kill lots of birds? Does she approve of putting a solar farm in the Mojave Desert, something Democrats have already blocked? How about hydro-electric dams? That’s a sticky-wicket, since the enviro-wacko base is dead set against that type of renewable energy.

NY Times: Transgender Bathroom Debate Totally Like Civil Rights Era!

Alternate headline: Paper Of Record Very Concerned Over Girls Pretending To Be Boys Forbidden From Using Boys Bathrooms. These are the types of things that keep Lefties up at night, rather than concerns over terrorism, Iran getting a nuclear weapon and a sweetheart deal, joblessness, and so on

For Transgender Americans, Legal Battles Over Restrooms

Gavin Grimm sat quietly in the audience last November as dozens of parents at a school board meeting in Gloucester County, Va., demanded that he be barred from using the boys’ restrooms at school. They discussed the transgender boy’s genitals, expressed concern that he might expose himself and cautioned that being in a men’s room would make the teenager vulnerable to rape. One person called him a “freak.”

When Gavin, 16, got his turn at the podium, he was remarkably composed. “I didn’t ask to be this way,” Gavin said. “All I want to do is be a normal child and use the restroom in peace.”

On Monday, Judge Robert Doumar of Federal District Court in Virginia is scheduled to consider whether the school board’s decision to prohibit Gavin from using the male restroom is unlawful discrimination. The case addresses one of the main unresolved battles in the fight for transgender equality.

Gavin is a girl. She may “identify” as a boy, but she has all the girlie bits. At least we should assume that, because nothing in the article states that she has had any sort of reassignment surgery. She may not have asked to be this way, but, she is this way, and needs to use the girl’s bathroom.

It is interesting to note that, suddenly, the opinions of dozens of parents is unimportant, when, normally, something must be totally stopped, usually having to do with religion, Christmas stuff, Halloween stuff, Easter stuff, and so on, because one parent Is Offended.

A favorable decision for the student would be the first time a federal court has ruled that refusing transgender students access to proper restrooms is discriminatory. Any other outcome would reinforce cruel policies that deny dignity to some of the most vulnerable students and subject them to more bullying and stigmatization.

Really? What about the dignity and privacy of girls being subjected to boys pretending to by girls using the girl’s bathroom and visa versa? Does the NY Times Editorial Board actually think that kids will suddenly stop being cruel because of bathrooms?

Here’s the kicker

Access to public restrooms has been a divisive issue in past civil rights struggles. During the 1950s, African-Americans challenged Jim Crow laws that barred them from so-called white restrooms.

There’s a vast difference between Black men and women being barred from using, respectively, certain men’s and women’s bathrooms, simply because they were Black, and people pretending to be the opposite sex and wanting to use those bathrooms. The former is certainly about respect and stopping discrimination, the other is about pandering to a tiny, tiny interest group, placing opposite sex members in the wrong bathrooms.

And right next to that bit is a button asking this tiny minority group to “share your story”. No, really.

The Department of Justice has submitted filings supporting both plaintiffs. The plaintiffs and federal officials argue that preventing transgender students from using restrooms that match their gender identity is a violation of Title IX, a federal law that bars discrimination based on gender in schools that receive federal funding. The Justice Department’s statement of interest in Gavin’s case notes that singling out transgender students makes it more likely that they will be bullied and harassed.

This is the same Obama DOJ which essentially ran guns into Mexico which resulted in the deaths and injuries of hundreds (that we know about) and no one was prosecuted. A DOJ which has virtually ignored the IRS targeting Conservative groups. A DOJ that sides with releasing criminal illegal aliens onto the streets of America. A DOJ that has ignored many, many subpoenas. A DOJ that refused to investigate voter intimidation by the New Black Panthers in Philly. A DOJ that stated it would not uphold duly passed laws, such as DOMA and marijuana. A DOJ that has essentially decided to enforce some things and ignore others.

But, hey, people pretending to be the other sex using bathrooms is apparently a good use of the DOJ’s time.

Joe Lieberman Blasts Iran Deal, Says Schumer Is Key To Stopping It

Since the Iran deal was announced, leaders in Iran, including Ayatollah Khamenei, have been tweeting and yammering about death to America, death to Israel on a constant basis. Khamenei just sent a tweet featuring Obama with a gun to his head. There have been threats, along with rejoicing that Iran won. And Iran has stated that this deal won’t change Iran’s stance towards the U.S. in the least. Joe Leiberman doesn’t’ think too much about the deal, and wants it stopped

(The Hill) Former Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) is pressuring a top Senate Democrat to buck the Obama administration on its Iran nuclear deal to ensure a safer future for Israel.

Lieberman, the Senate’s first Orthodox Jew, blasted the agreement with Iran on “The Cats Roundtable” with host John Catsimatidis on New York’s AM 970.

He said the deal could be effectively blocked with the help of Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.).

“I think it opens the way for a lot of other Democrats to oppose it as well,” Lieberman said of his longtime colleague, who is also Jewish. “Chuck is the key.”

Schumer, who is likely to become the Senate’s next top Democrat, faces a major dilemma over the nuclear deal. He is both a key ally to both Israel and the White House, facing pressure from both sides on the deal.

Mr. Leiberman wrote an op-ed in the Hartford Courant on July 19th, saying how bad this deal is and that they should start again. And that was prior to knowledge of two side deals coming to light. Surely, there are other side deals. And what Senator Schumer, and other elected Democrats, must consider is that Obama and Kerry are gone come January 20, 2017, yet this deal will still be there, with all the consequences, and so will Schumer and other elected Democrats. If they choose to allow this really, really, really bad deal to stand, the consequences are on them.

In the Washington Post, Carl Bernstein has written about two biographies of Richard Nixon and his “tormented path”. Bernstein isn’t impressed with the books, and writes

Newly released Nixon tapes, recently declassified oral histories of his aides (especially those of the mysterious Thomas Charles Huston) and previously withheld portions of H.R. Haldeman’s diaries illuminate as never before that Vietnam and Watergate are inextricably linked in the Nixon presidency. They are an intertwined tale — one story — of sordid abuse of presidential power, vengeance, cynicism and lawlessness. Nixon conducted the Vietnam War and presided over the crimes of Watergate with the same ruthless mind-set, scorched-earth sensibility and disdain for established governmental institutions and their proper functioning. Not to mention paranoia, chaos and recklessness.

Remember what the Articles of Impeachment for Nixon covered. Obstruction of justice, 9 difference charges. Abuse of power, 5 points, including the notation that he failed to follow the Oath of Office for the POTUS. Contempt of Congress, for failing to respond to subpoenas. Why is this relevant? Put into perspective Nixon’s actions. Consider the freakout over 18 minutes of missing recording tape. Then consider what Andrew McCarthy writes

Congress Must Hold Obama Accountable for His Deception Over Iran
By lying and withholding information about the agreement, he gives aid and comfort to America’s enemy.

McCarthy lays out his case, and, if we compare this to Nixon’s actions, we can easily see that what Obama has done, with just the Iran deal, Obama’s actions are considerably worse than Nixon’s. Did Nixon give aid and comfort to America’s enemies? No. Team Obama knows of the side deals, ones which will not be submitted to Congress, in violation of law. 18 minutes of tape? Pfft. Grade school shenanigans in comparison.

Now consider this: Under cover of this IAEA ruse, Obama ran to the Security Council and rammed through a resolution commencing implementation of his Iran deal before Congress or the American people could consider it. He thus undermined American sovereignty and the Constitution by scheming to impose an international-law fait accompli. And he thus undermined American national security by transferring his inspection commitments to an international agency that he knows is not close to being capable of executing them — an agency that will be further hampered by notice restrictions that, as Charles Krauthammer concludes, render the inspections “farcical” in any event.

The Constitution forbids providing aid and comfort to America’s enemies. And the Framers’ notion that a president would be punishable for deceiving Congress regarding the conduct of foreign affairs meant that lawmakers would be obliged to use their constitutional powers to protect the United States — not merely shriek on cable television as if they were powerless spectators.

Well?

At the end of the day, Obama has made U.S. security weaker, and has simply kicked the can for a nuclear armed Iran down the road, while making sure that Iran is flush with cash to spend on their terrorism programs.

This is based on hysteria of a 200 foot sea rise if, IF, all the ice melts. Which could totes happen! Hey, we had around 432 feet of sea rise after the ice age ended. Which took 12000 years to occur.
