Today’s Doomy Prognostication

A quick and dirty post based on this tweet of DOOM

This is based on hysteria of a 200 foot sea rise if, IF, all the ice melts. Which could totes happen! Hey, we had around 432 feet of sea rise after the ice age ended. Which took 12000 years to occur.

That map would be more complete if it illustrated the flooded coastal areas as teeming with man-eating sharks. Maybe have Nina Agdal hugging the capitol flagpole with sharks nipping at her bikini bottoms. Holding a beer. None of this would detract from the scientific quality of the initial map.

Now we find that John Cook, creator of the 97% consensus studylie, has been impersonating physicist Dr. Lubos Motl.

There would have to be an amazing set of scientific happenings to guarantee all the Ice ever melted.

It would require tremendous amounts of water vapor, co2 and METHANE in the air and the complete closure of the ozone level along with the earth lining up fully with the sun.

The events leading to all this would most likely wipe out half mankind in the first place….there would be plenty of room inland for mankind to move if the oceans started to flood.

Additionally even with the right circumstances it would take 1000’s of years for all the ice to melt……

People really need to focus on the here and now….the needs of todays worlds…

any of this is so far off in the future as to make what we do today insignificant and in fact it does a disservice to the world if we take away the only energy we have with nothing to replce it.

  4. Phil Taylor says:

Now lets see a map with all the world’s oceans frozen. That would be equally likely to happen.

For the ice caps to melt it would take a tremendously powerful external source of fusion energy to bathe our planet with intense IR radiation for years. Something on the scale of, say, our Sun.

Beautiful- What it “would” look like “if” all the ice melted. Never saw a cult so infested with drama queens.
