“Planned Parenthood Shooter Finally Convinces Leftists that Beliefs Matter”

That is the headline featured at Red State, as written by Leon H. Wolf. He writes

As of the time I sat down to write this article, we know absolutely nothing about the shooter at the Planned Parenthood in Colorado. Much of what we learn in the next 24 hours will be a mixture of falsehood and half-truths, if the normal news cycle is any indication. And yet, already we have multiple emails blaming RedState (and blogs like RedState) for the very existence of this guy. Here are a couple:

And he highlights a few. He goes on

Welp. We never on this site have ever advocated violence of any kind against Planned Parenthood or anyone else, and at this point we don’t know that the guy read RedState or any other conservative publications.

But I tell you what, I find this kind of thinking from liberals refreshing. See, for months, we have been trying to say that the terrorists who go around chopping people’s heads off and screaming Allahu Akbar, or blowing up planes full of civilians in Egypt in the name of Islam, or who shoot hundreds of civilians in Paris in order to strike a blow for Allah in the name of Islam ought to be taken seriously.

We have said repeatedly, “Shouldn’t the fact that these people all claim to be acting in the name of Islam cause us all to ask some pointed questions of Muslims about the extent to which they are fostering this behavior?”

To Leftists, never. They cannot conceive of the notion that all this terrorism and extremist behavior from Muslims could have anything to do with Islam, even when the Islamists tell us that it has everything to do with what is written in the Koran. Those few who can conceive the notion won’t admit to it verbally or in writing. It is a Disapproved Concept, utterly verboten within Leftism.

Leon goes on to note “we ought to cast a good, long hard look at the preachers of that ideology to determine whether they bear some responsibility for the violent acts of their extremists”, and that Red State can withstand the scrutiny, and wonders if Liberals have confidence that Islam can withstand that same scrutiny.

Twitchy has all sorts of tweets which blamestorm White Christians. And all Conservatives. The NRA is being blamed. Republicans as a whole are being blamed. At Think Progress we see

In a statement provided to ThinkProgress on Friday evening, Planned Parenthood Rocky Mountains CEO Vicki Cowart said it wasn’t yet clear whether the women’s health organization was the target of the attack. Cowart did, however, say that anti-abortion “extremists” have created a “poisonous environment that feeds domestic terrorism in this country.”

“We don’t yet know the full circumstances and motives behind this criminal action, and we don’t yet know if Planned Parenthood was in fact the target of this attack,” the statement read. “We share the concerns of many Americans that extremists are creating a poisonous environment that feeds domestic terrorism in this country. We will never back away from providing care in a safe, supportive environment that millions of people rely on and trust.”

So, what we’ve learned is that Leftists will blame every single pro-life supporter for the actions of a person for which we have no information on their political beliefs or any beliefs. Being pro-life is apparently “poisonous”. Yet, when we have lots and lots of violence in the name of Allah and Mohammad, we’re told this has nothing to do with Islam in the least. Allahu Akbar? It means “God is the greatest”. It is consistently screamed by terrorists who practice Islam. Does this mean that all Muslims are extremists? No. Not in the least. But, there is a big problem within the so-called Religion of Peace.

We’re told that only 10% are radicals. Other polls show just 7%. Some want to claim just 1%, at least of those Muslims living in Europe. Do the math. There are roughly 1.6 billion Muslims. What were 19 Muslims able to do on 9/11? The radicalization is something that progresses, though, with more learning the extremist views, who then teach their kids and others.

If every single Christian, white person, pro-choice believer, Conservative, Tea Party, Republican can be blamed for the actions of one person or small group, despite having nothing to do with the more extremist views, why can’t we blame a small part of Islam for the actions of their extremists?

Obama Seems Upset That Someone Dared Jump His Fence Illegally

Good thing there were lots of people armed with firearms to stop him

(NY Post) A man jumped the White House fence on Thursday afternoon while the first family was inside celebrating Thanksgiving.

Joseph Caputo, who was wearing an American flag around his shoulders, raised a binder in the air as he stood triumphantly on the White House lawn. (snip)

Caputo was immediately arrested. The White House was briefly placed on lockdown. (snip)

The Secret Service said criminal charges were pending.

Hey, the guy was just trying for a better life, he wanted someone to listen. Perhaps Mr. Obama and his liberal supporters could explain why it’s A-OK for Obama to live behind a fence and arrest people for jumping the fence, when Obama and his liberal supporters have no problem with people coming across US borders illegally. Furthermore, why does Obama think it is OK for him to have tons of armed security, yet wants to deny law abiding citizens the same protection.

Surprise: Iran Dean Not Binding And They Didn’t Sign It

Have you heard this one yet?

(Daily Mail) The Obama administration has disclosed to Congress that this summer’s controversial nuclear arms agreement with Iran was never signed and is not legally binding, according to a new report this week.

The State Department made the disclosures in a letter to Kansas congressman Mike Pompeo, a Republican, who had written the department to inquire why the agreement as submitted to Congress in July did not bear the signature of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.

So much for this being super duper awesome and a legacy booster. An unsigned deal is worthless. Iran already broke the terms several times when we thought it was binding. What will they do with just “commitments”?

CNN: Say, Will Journalists Be Writing Earth’s Obituary Due To ‘Climate Change’?

The news media have already been heavily complicit in the Cult of Climastrology by being the mouthpieces and disseminators of the junk science, most often refusing to broadcast any opposing views

Will we write Earth’s next chapter or its obituary?

When National Geographic first sent some of the world’s best photographers and mapmakers on assignment more than 125 years ago, we didn’t set to capture the “before” photos for an imperiled planet. But that’s exactly what happened.

Over the decades, from the Matterhorn to the Great Barrier Reef to the West Antarctic Ice Sheet, these intrepid explorers became the visual record-keepers of climate change.

Today, that record is alarmingly clear. Since the late 19th century, Earth’s average temperature has increased 1.5 degrees Fahrenheit, melting glaciers and raising sea levels.

1.5F in over 160 years is less than scary, and well in line with every other Holocene warm period, if not smaller. Antarctica? NASA grudgingly notes that it has been getting cooler. West Antarctica? Most likely due to vulcanism.

The question we face as journalists who chronicle the state of the planet is stark: Will we write a new chapter in the progress of humankind? Or will we write the obituary of Earth?

Writer Susan Goldberg is super thrilled by the Paris climate change meetings coming up shortly. Unfortunately for her and her fellow apocalyptic journalists, the plans would do virtually nothing to stop the massive warming they say is coming. Of course, in reality, it’s not coming.

Take personal consumption. It’s easy to assume that one person can’t affect our warming world, and that’s part of what makes climate change such a daunting issue to tackle. But one person can make a difference.

Leaving your car at home twice a week can cut 2 tons of carbon emissions annually. If the average American family did laundry with cold water, that could save 1,600 pounds of CO2 a year. As for all the phone chargers and other electronics that we plug in and don’t use? Those consume theequivalent of a dozen power plants, meaning that simply switching on and off a power strip could save your household up to $200 a year while also helping to save the planet. It just goes to show that when it comes to climate change, there’s no such thing as chump change.

Surprisingly, Ms. Goldberg forgets to tell us that she has done this same thing. Nor does she recommend that CNN reduce it’s own massive international carbon footprint. Weird, eh? It’s easy to preach about Doing Something, but, again, Warmists refuse to walk the talk.

Washington Post Chides America To Be Like Canada On Syrian Refugees

The Washington Post Editorial Board has gone all in on protecting Obama when it comes to his plan to let in tens of thousands of Syrian refugees, but, does forget a few things

Canada gets it right on Syrian refugees

WHEN THE photo appeared Sept. 2 of Alan Kurdi, a lifeless 3-year-old boy facedown on a beach, the plight of refugees from Syria’s civil war shocked the world. In Canada’s election campaign, rivals responded with pledges to accelerate their resettlement. The election winner, Justin Trudeau of the Liberal Party, outlined the most ambitious agenda, to bring 25,000 refugees to Canada by year’s end. Mr. Trudeau has extended the deadline eight weeks out of prudence over the logistical challenges. It is a small adjustment to a generous response that serves as a rebuke to the senseless xenophobia heard lately in the United States, and that should serve as a model.

Huh. Xenophobia. The Post forgets to mention that multiple polls show Canadians are against the plan. One is 51% against, another 60% against.

Canada has long welcomed refugees and immigrants. A timeline published by the government shows an amazing parade of beneficiaries: waves of Poles, Italians, Jews and Ukrainians in the first half of the last century; a quarter-million displaced persons from Europe fleeing Nazis and Communists in World War II; 37,000 Hungarians in 1956; 11,000 from Czechoslovakia in 1968 and 1969, fleeing the Soviet and Warsaw Pact invasion; 60,000 boat people from Vietnam; and Kosovars, Bhutanese and others in more recent years. On top of this, the country is a crazy quilt of immigrant communities that are diverse, vibrant and a source of national strength.

This is meant to say how mean America is, conveniently ignoring the massive amounts of the same, and others, America has taken in. They also forget to mention the assimilation issues surrounding the most recent immigrants, such as the Somalis, who are committing violence and joining gangs. And that these “Syrians” do not speak the language, and will not hold even close to the same values.

Contrast this alacrity with the cold-shouldered hostility that has been ricocheting around the United States. Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder, a Republican who had described himself as the most pro-immigration governor in the country — and in September said of accepting Syrian refugees, “Isn’t that part of a being a good Michigander?” — slammed on the brakes after the Paris terrorist attacks. He announced he was suspending the state’s effort to bring refugees from the Middle East to Michigan, where there is a large Arab American population. On Nov. 20, 27 Republican governors (although not Mr. Snyder) wrote to President Obama asking him to suspend resettlement of Syrian refugees. The president wisely defended the plan to bring them to the United States, pledging that the country will take 10,000 next year. It is a start — but more could be done.

I told you this was about slamming America, and, in particular, Republicans. Interestingly, the WPEB forgets something else

Single unaccompanied men will be excluded from the government resettlement program for now. However, government officials say those individuals can still apply to come to Canada through private sponsorship programs or could possibly be resettled through a government-sponsored program later in 2016.

Those single young fighting age men make up the largest portion of these “refugees” streaming into Europe. Of course, the danger is that many of these women and elder men may hold radicalized Islamic views, and will teach that to the children.

When people flee war and upheaval, they reach North American shores with immense gratitude and eagerness to succeed in their new home. Properly screened, very few ever pose a security problem. Canada is showing the way, with compassion and sound judgment. The United States could use more of both.

We can use more people who refuse to assimilate, do not speak the language, hold values very, very different from Americans and all the previous waves of immigrants and refugees? Properly screened? As Charles Krauthammer notes in a dueling opinion piece (which slams Obama for creating the refugee problem by his inaction)

Obama’s own officials have admitted that the absence of thorough data makes it nearly impossible to properly vet Syrian refugees. In response, many Republicans (and some Democrats) called for a pause in admitting Syrians until alternate vetting procedures are developed. In my view, it would have been better to differentiate among the refugees: Admit women, children and the elderly under the current procedures, while subjecting young men of fighting age to a new regime of far stricter scrutiny.

Yes, if they were properly screened. They aren’t, and can’t be. Just for starters, here are 12 that we know about who went through all the screenings and still became terrorists and/or terrorist supporters.

Happy Thanksgiving: Your Leftover Turkey Is Making The World Burn To A Cinder

Food waste is a real issue. I think most of us who aren’t crazy Warmists can understand exactly why, without being told. Of course, in Crazy Warmist World, we get this from the Huffington Post, which has to link ‘climate change’ to food waste on Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving! Your Turkey Leftovers Are Destroying The Planet.
Thirty-five percent of turkey is wasted. Here’s how to keep yours from winding up in a landfill.

Thanksgiving is, of course, the annual day of overdoing it. But that excess can be felt in more ways than a slice of pumpkin pie too many. We’re all prone to prepare far too much food than is needed — and a lot of that food isn’t eaten.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture estimates 35 percent of the turkey meat that Americans buy each year is thrown away, compared to the 15 percent of chicken meat that’s typically wasted — and there’s good reason to believe the bulk of that turkey waste takes place around Thanksgiving, when the bird is most in demand.

All that uneaten grub adds up. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, 30 million tons of food waste get sent to landfills every year, and that waste is landfills’ second largest source of methane, a potent greenhouse gas that contributes to climate change.

Most of the rest of the fable is about typical wise ideas for reducing foot waste, all to stop the temperatures from rising….hey, it worked! No statistically significant warming in approaching 19 years!

Ultimately, it’s about increasing awareness of the problem, a battle Berkenkamp believes advocates are winning. At a time when more and more people are wanting to know where and how the food they’re eating is made, it’s natural to expect that curiosity to extend to what happens to the food when we’re finished with it.

“I think we’re in the early phases of this issue coming into the popular consciousness,” Berkenkamp said. “And Thanksgiving is a critically important time to think of all this.”

That bold is not mine. This is Crazy Warmist World, where being thankful for family and friends is not critically important. Just ask Alternet, which has 30 reasons to be thankful this Thanksgiving, and not one includes family and friends.

Meanwhile, the Democratic Party’s official TV station, MSNBC, joins in the party to provide helpful talking points for liberals to survive Thanksgiving political conversations, which even digs into how to respond to conversations about Charlie Sheen having HIV. Seriously. Because this is a conversation which we were all thinking of having. But, just in case, Nagging Points have been provided.

The NY Times even says that throwing down with your uncle is good for you.

The funny part in all these lefty articles about surviving T-giving is the need to provide talking points. These are supposedly deeply held beliefs for Liberals, yet, they don’t seem to know what to say using critical thinking.

Obama Very Concerned Over Shooting Of Laquan McDonald

Obama takes to Facebook (because there’s apparently no other outlet for him to opine)

Like many Americans, I was deeply disturbed by the footage of the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Laquan McDonald. This Thanksgiving, I ask everybody to keep those who’ve suffered tragic loss in our thoughts and prayers, and to be thankful for the overwhelming majority of men and women in uniform who protect our communities with honor. And I’m personally grateful to the people of my hometown for keeping protests peaceful.

And well he should be. I’ve read the reports, watched the video, and have come to the conclusion that Chicago Police officer Jason Van Dyke very much murdered Laquan McDonald. This was not a situation like Michael Brown, this was a guy who was threatening, but contained. He wasn’t charging the officer, the Chicago PD could have taken them time to get a taser. McDonald, regardless of any possible gang affiliations, regardless of his drug use, regardless of anything else, was shot 16 times, quite a few while down on the ground.

And there very much was a conspiracy to cover this up. And every officer and city official involved should be charged. Conservatives stand for law and order, and equal treatment under the law. We do not blindly stand behind anyone when they have done wrong. This was wrongdoing on a massive scale.

A very interesting part is how Obama, elected Democrats, and their supporters are avoiding the mention of something important: Chicago is a Democratic Party run city, and has been for a long time. Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel is a buddy of Obama’s. But, this is Rahm’s city. The buck stops with him. This falls in his lap. Yet, neither Obama nor other Democrats are calling for Rahm to resign, nor asking for an investigation into what he knew and when he knew it. Nor are they calling for an investigation into the local police union along the same lines. Very few articles even mention the word “Democrat”. There seems to be one lone voice in the wilderness calling for Rahm to be held accountable, John Kass at the Chicago Tribune.

As for peaceful, that depends on your definition. There hasn’t been the violence, looting, breaking and entering, and arson we’ve seen at other protests. There has been some destruction of property, and, apparently, Christmas lights are evil.

There are reports that the BLM protesters will disrupt Black Friday. Will they keep it mostly peaceful? Time will tell. In this case, though, they have a right to be upset and protest. Violence? Destruction of property? No.
