Obama Gives Speech At DNC, Forgets Who Has Been President Last 7+ Years

It was an amazing speech from a guy whose political party loathes America, and he himself has long attempted to fundamentally transform America. This ABC News headline is perhaps the most ironic

President Obama Tells DNC ‘America is Already Great’ and ‘We Don’t Look to Be Ruled’

President Obama delivered a resounding defense of the state of the country at the Democratic Convention Wednesday night and said Hillary Clinton would help defend his legacy in the White House, continuing the work left unfinished during his presidency.

The president also offered a stinging rebuke of Clinton’s Republican rival Donald Trump, painting him as fear-mongering and unqualified for the job and saying “we don’t look to be ruled.”

Says the guy whose use of major Executive Orders has been staggering. Says the guy who started an air war against Libya without even bothering to notify Congress for days. Says the guy who shut down national monuments when he didn’t get his way during budget negotiations after agreeing to a deal. Says the guy who sends his wife and kids off on taxpayer funded vacations. Says the guy whose every proclamation is about increasing the power of the President and Executive branch.

“This is a more fundamental choice -– about who we are as a people, and whether we stay true to this great American experiment in self-government,” he said. “We Democrats have always had plenty of differences with the Republican Party, and there’s nothing wrong with that; it’s precisely this contest of ideas that pushes our country forward.”

Trump has appealed to quite a few Americans because we elect people to office who then refuse to accede to the wishes of the people, doing what they want. People are tired of a far flung government failing to listen. They are tired of the unaccountability.

“America is already great. America is already strong. And I promise you, our strength, our greatness, does not depend on Donald Trump,” he said, questioning Trump’s qualifications.

Obama and his crew have been tearing down America for decades. He’s spent his entire term telling us how disappointed he is in the citizens. It’s his side that burns American flags, and had to be shamed into putting a few flags in public view after having none on day one of the convention. He’s weakened our military and harmed our economy. He and his folks have worked hard to change America into something else. Someone who thinks that “America is already great” doesn’t seem to “fundamentally transform” America.

“Anyone who threatens our values, whether fascists or communists or jihadists or homegrown demagogues, will always fail in the end,” he added.

Again, says the guy who rules by his pen and phone. Of course, the phone is used to call up his appointees and tell them to increase their power through non-legislative fiats. It isn’t used to actually communicate and talk with the duly elected legislative branch. Oh, and says the guy who wants to violate our 2nd Amendment rights. Says the guy who violated the spirit of the 1st by targeting political opposition with not just his verbal assaults, but with the use of federal agencies. And violates the religious rights of citizens via his contraception mandate, created out of thin air, as it appeared nowhere in Obamacare. Says the guy who will force schools to force girls to share bathrooms, locker rooms, and showers with boys who feel they are girls (some just for a period to spy on naked girls). Says the guy who forced through a deal that will simply kick Iran’s nuclear weapons ambitions down the road 10-11 years. Says the guy who demanded that the Paris climate accord be drafted in a way as to avoid putting it in from of Congress. Says the guy who denigrates the values of average Americans.

Says the guy whose economy is floundering. Says the guy who has seen race relations significantly worsen. Says the guy who denigrates police officers. Says the guy who has been less than transparent. Says the guy who started out by blaming America for being attacked on 9/11, wondering what we did wrong. Really, the speech was like he forgot that he has been president the past 7+ years.

Democrats, Media Suddenly Very Concerned With Hillary’s Deleted Emails

Democrats and the media, but I repeat myself, have been telling us since the moment Hillary’s illegal server came to light that her emails were inconsequential. Much ado about nothing. A big fat nothingburger. And, heckaroonie, what’s the big deal that she deleted 30000+ emails about yoga and weddings and personal stuff, anyhow? Well, Trump made a statement this morning, which I was actually watching, and listening, and they’ve lost their minds. For instance, the NY Times

Donald J. Trump said Wednesday that he hoped Russia had hacked Hillary Clinton’s email, essentially encouraging an adversarial foreign power to cyberspy on a secretary of state’s correspondence.

“Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing,” Mr. Trump said, staring directly into the cameras during a news conference. “I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press.”

Now comes the apoplexy in a news article

Mr. Trump’s call was an extraordinary moment at a time when Russia is being accused of meddling in the United States’ presidential election. His comments came amid questions about the hacking of the Democratic National Committee’s computer servers, which American intelligence agencies have told the White House they have “high confidence” was the work of the Russian government.

There are all sorts of examples of this same thing, with Dems and their compliant media being Outraged!!!!!!

Lots of media folks and Dems were saying the same thing. Of course, they were lying. That is not what Trump said. But, hey, they have a Narrative. And you can expect there will be more Outrage in the opinion pages by tomorrow morning, and surely Outrage on CBS, NBC, ABC, MSNBC, and CNN, among others.

But, here’s something interesting, per Sean Davis at The Federalist, who first notes this tweet from Team Hillary, echoing their press release

Davis writes

Sullivan did not explain how the e-mails, which Clinton said were about nothing more than her “yoga routines” and wedding planning for her daughter, could possibly pose a national security risk to the United States. Sullivan also failed to explain how unclassified e-mails “private personal e-mails” wholly unrelated to her work as Secretary of State — Clinton declared in an infamous 2015 press conference that she “did not email any classified material to anyone on my email” — could compromise American security.

If the emails are nothingburgers, then what national security is at stake?

Man Who Takes Long Fossil Fueled Trips To Play Golf Looks To Reign In Carbon Pollution From Airplanes

Consider: Obama has one of the largest carbon footprints in the world. He casually jumps in a helicopter for a flight over to Andrews AFB to jump on a jumbo jet to take a cross country flight, where he schedules a brief official event to avoid reimbursing the government, then heads off to fundraisers and/or a couple rounds of golf. His flight includes a backup jumbo jet and several military fighter jets. Yet…

(NY Times) The Obama administration on Monday announced its plan to start regulating planet-warming pollution from airplanes, setting off a battle between environmentalists and the airline industry.

The plan to curb airplane emissions comes as President Obama looks to strengthen his climate change legacy with new policies in the waning months of his administration. The airline rules would be among the final pieces of his sweeping and contentious second-term climate agenda, which has included rules to rein in greenhouse pollution from cars, trucks and power plants, and his role in forging last year’s Paris agreement committing nearly 200 countries to take action to reduce emissions that are warming the planet.

The Environmental Protection Agency released the aviation plan, known as an “endangerment finding,” which concludes that the planet-warming pollution produced by airplanes endangers human health by contributing to climate change. The endangerment finding does not include the details of a regulation, but it sets off a legal requirement under the Clean Air Act for the E.P.A. to establish a rule. (snip)

The announcement did not include a timetable for releasing the rule, but people tracking the administration’s climate change policies said it was possible that the E.P.A. could release a draft rule by early January, most likely making it Mr. Obama’s last climate action. However, the next administration would have the authority to rewrite the draft rule.

Huh. So, the rule will wait till Obama is almost out of office, when people won’t have the opportunity to say “say, what about your own “carbon emissions”, Mr. Obama?”

Of course, as the airline industry points out, they’re already at the cutting edge, and the technology doesn’t exist now to implement whatever is coming. Rules will also hurt American airplane companies, who have to compete against foreign companies who have no such rules. They’ll also certainly harm average Americans, as the costs for air travel will go up, affecting business travel, personal travel, and costs of goods shipped via airplane.

Good News: ISIS Threatens Attacks In America, UK

(Mirror UK) Images threatening attacks in London and other major world capitals have been posted on jihadi messaging app Telegram as counter-terror police issue advice to religious institutions in the UK.

London is on the next list of target cities for twisted jihadis, it has been claimed.

One picture chillingly shows New York’s Statue of Liberty engulfed in flames but with the caption “Washington soon” – referring to the US capital 225 miles away.

Of course, ISIS has been threatening attacks for over a year, and, oh, wait, there have been jihadi attacks here in the US. Of course, they do have a bit of a geography problem, as noted

Of course, the threat from ISIS and other Islamic jihad groups has been mostly missing from the Democratic National Convention, with no mentions Monday. It didn’t seem to come up much, if at all, Tuesday, either.

Interestingly, Piers Morgan mostly makes sense in recommending that immigration from the Islamic countries be shut down temporarily, in order to attempt to assimilate those who are already here. Turn them from the path to Islamic extremism to that of being a Good Citizen.

Missing, though, is that so many of them are unassimilatable, and there are too many in Western nations who are already part of the Islamic fundamentalist movement. They may not be violent, but they push Sharia, the Caliphate, and other hardcore notions, which radicalizes others, and turns some into the violent ones.

Obama To Make Case That Hillary Would Be Third Term

Day two at the Donkey National Convention was about humanizing Hillary, a tall order indeed, as well as pandering to people, such as having the mother of Michael Brown, a guy who was killed because he attacked a police officer and tried to take his gun, speak to the assembled masses. Today it is about more pandering to interest groups, and telling us that she will be Obama’s third term

(USA Today) President Obama will take the stage at the Democratic National Convention for the fourth time Wednesday to make an argument that only one president has made successfully in modern times: that his policies deserve a third term in the form of Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

The speech is as important for Obama’s place in history as it is for Clinton’s future. And it will require Obama to juggle a variety of rhetorical chores: defending his own legacy, unifying the Democratic Party and promoting his once bitter rival for the presidency.

Well, let’s see. Real wages have been stagnant. Real unemployment is high, and the jobs market is a disaster, with the reduction of white collar jobs and the explosion of low paying service industry jobs, especially part time ones. Savings are down. Cost of living is up. The number of people who have left the jobs market in despair is at record highs. Welfare and food stamps recipients are at all time highs. College debt is at historic highs.

Government spending is at ridiculous levels. The debt is over $19.4 trillion (remember, he called Bush un-patriotic for increasing the debt). He pissed away taxpayer money with the Stimulus, son of Stimulus, grandson of stimulus, not to mention all the “green” energy loans.

The NSA is spying on all Americans. The CIA spied on Senators. The IRS targeted Obama political opponents. He and his administration have continuously attempted to thwart transparency. The VA scandal. Obamacare, something which polled poorly before it was passed, when it was passed, and post-passage, is imploding.

On the foreign front, he blew off the Arab Spring and Iranian Green uprising. He sided with the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. He’s treated our allies like Israel and England poorly. There’s little trust for America now. ISIS has exploded on the scene under his watch. He turned a stability plan in Iraq around and made it a mess. Syria is an utter disaster. Russia is rising, and even took Crimea. He launched an air war in Libya, deposed Gaddafi (a scumbag, but one who stood against Islamists), and the left, turning the nation into a failed state rife with Islamic extremists. Oh, and it was an illegal venture, designed to protect oil for France and England. Benghazi.

As much as anyone, Obama has proven the impact that a single convention speech can have. After all, he catapulted his own trajectory to the White House with by a keynote address to the 2004 Democratic National Convention in Boston.

“There’s not a liberal America and a conservative America; there’s the United States of America,” he said then. “There’s not a black America and white America and Latino America and Asian America; there’s the United States of America.”

That speech came 12 years ago Wednesday — a historical coincidence that Obama is sure to note.

He’s denigrated and demeaned political opponents, and even used the power of the government to target them. Racial tensions are at all time highs. Black unemployment, especially for young black men, is very high. He’s taken the side of racists over law enforcement. He’s legalized those here in the country illegally, and brought in folks from countries with histories of Islamic terrorism, with little in the way of background checks. He’s worked hard to divide us.

The list can go on and on and on. As horrible as Donald Trump is, continuing the Obama policies, and even expanding on them, would be an unmitigated disaster.

Good News: Hollywood Stars Take Long Fossil Fueled Trips To Philly To Whine About Fossil Fuels

Climate change hypocrisy on dispay. Can we call it Leo Dicaprio Syndrome?

(Haaretz) More than 1,000 people joined Hollywood stars including Shailene Woodley, Susan Sarandon and Danny Glover in Philadelphia last night on the eve of the Democratic National Convention and vowed to keep fighting for climate and environmental justice issues, even though their preferred presidential candidate would not be driving the party’s agenda.

Sarandon, who like the other stars in attendance campaigned on behalf of Sen. Bernie Sanders, said the rally’s turnout was proof that theirs was a movement and not a cult of personality as some critics alleged. (snip)

The event was organized by NextGen Climate, a San Francisco-based environmental advocacy organization. The event included musical acts and a screening of the documentary “How to Let Go of the World and Love All the Things Climate Can’t Change” by writer/director Josh Fox. Fox is best known for “Gasland,” which included memorable images of Pennsylvania homeowners setting tap water aflame.

Well, obviously, and as typical, the movie is all about Progressive values, and has nothing about Warmists practicing what the preach. It does tell you that you can dance, and sing, and write poetry. Vote. Annoy your friends, family, and neighbors, er, spread awareness.

Oh, and carry your trash on your back for 5 days (in the courage section). Perhaps all these Climahypocrites in Philly can cart away all their trash for a change?

Perhaps they could all walk home instead of using fossil fueled vehicles and planes.

Oh, and Michelle Obama is suddenly proud of her country for a 2nd time. Does anyone think that Democrats will spontaneiously break into a chant of “USA USA USA”?

Dem Gender Confused Pandering: DNC Makes Several Women’s Bathrooms “All Genders”

The Democratic National Convention is being held in a city where it is still against the law to use the opposite biological bathroom, though they’ve attempted to force schools to allow the gender confused to use whatever bathroom they feel like. It’s also the policy of the Wells Fargo Center that people use their biological bathroom. Yet, Dems still held their convention there. I guess pandering to that itty bitty number of gender confused was a bit too much for the Democrats. Or, perhaps they just didn’t want males free reign in women’s bathrooms. So, they made a tiny change

(Washington Free Beacon) The Democratic National Convention has turned a women’s restroom into an “all-gender” bathroom at the Wells Fargo Arena.

The all-gender bathroom is one of the ways the DNC is infusing its party platform into the arena accommodations. The arena also has a “gluten-free zone” and garbage cans are categorized by landfill, recycling, and compost.

A DNC volunteer told the Washington Free Beacon that there is only one all-gender restroom to accommodate transgender individuals.

The change leaves female convention goers with one fewer bathroom than male attendees.

The Daily Caller is reporting that the DNC changed one women’s bathroom per floor into a gender free-for-all bathroom. Funny how the took away women’s bathrooms, not men’s, right?

At least one person at the DNC cares, according to media reports.

“I don’t need no man in the next stall next to me while I go to the bathroom,” a female employee of the arena told Mynorthwest.com.

“We need a male and female she said. I’ve got personal business. I’m trying to keep it real.”

“It’s privacy. I need privacy.”

Privacy? Girl, you’re hanging with the wrong people. They don’t care about your privacy.

Supposedly, the male cameramen have taken over that bathroom.
