DOE Climate Department Banned From Use Of “Climate Change” Or Something

Here we go. A big story using an anonymous source is making a claim, which is sending Cult of Climastrology members into apoplexy, claiming fascism and stuff

(Politico) A supervisor at the Energy Department’s international climate office told staff this week not to use the phrases “climate change,” “emissions reduction” or “Paris Agreement” in written memos, briefings or other written communication, sources have told POLITICO.

Employees of DOE’s Office of International Climate and Clean Energy learned of the ban at a meeting Tuesday, the same day President Donald Trump signed an executive order at EPA headquarters to reverse most of former President Barack Obama’s climate regulatory initiatives. Officials at the State Department and in other DOE offices said they had not been given a banned words list, but they had started avoiding climate-related terms in their memos and briefings given the new administration’s direction on climate change.

The supervisor is not named. The sources are not named.

The office has regular contact with officials from foreign countries, which may have led to the more aggressive action on language than in other offices, a source said. At the meeting, senior officials told staff the words would cause a “visceral reaction” with Energy Secretary Rick Perry, his immediate staff, and the cadre of White House advisers at the top of the department.

The senior officials are not named. There is zero proof this occurred. Yet, that hasn’t stopped The Hill, AOL News, Newsy, Axios, The Week, and NY Magazine, among others, from repeating the no proof provided allegation. From repeating what is essentially content free gossip. Many of the articles even forget to mention Politico’s next paragraph, which cancels the entire story

A DOE spokeswoman denied there had been a new directive. “No words or phrases have been banned for this office or anyone in the department,” said DOE spokeswoman Lindsey Geisler.

In actuality, it seems more as if the Warmists in the department are getting their own green on the outside red on the inside panties in a wad

Another DOE source in a different office said that although there had been no formal instructions about climate-related language in their office there was a general sense that it’s better to avoid certain hot-button terms in favor of words like “jobs” and “infrastructure.”

A State Department official reported a similar mood.

“We have definitively not received anything on banned words, not even orally,” the State official said. “But people are doing a lot of reading into tea leaves. People are taking their own initiatives to not use certain words based on hints from transition people. Everyone is encouraged to finding different ways of talking about things. There’s a sense that you’d better find a way to delink” from the previous administration’s talking points.

There’s even a wonderful freakout quote from the Sierra Club on the story, a story based on gossip and formally stated by the DOE that it’s fake. A story that seems more like the Warmists having hissy fits over their own feelings and making things up.

But, hey, you know, “news”.

Raiders Have A Plan If Fans Abandon Team That Abandoned Them

Let’s talk about something different. This article about the Raiders moving has been bugging me all day, but, alas, Real Lifeâ„¢ interfered

Raiders could reportedly play in San Antonio or with 49ers if Oakland fans bail

It appears that the Raiders are already making contingency plans in case their divorce with the city of Oakland gets messy.

After the team’s move to Las Vegas was approved Monday , Raiders owner Mark Davis said he would like to keep the Raiders in Oakland while the team’s new stadium in Vegas is being built.

“We have two more years of lease options for Oakland right now,” Davis said. “If the fans would like us to stay there, we’d love to be there for that and possibly talk to them about extending it for maybe 2019 as well and try to bring a championship back to Oakland.”

Is it just me, or does it seem as if the Raiders are blaming the fans and trying to shame them in case they abandon going to games over the next two seasons? The Raiders are leaving. Why would any Oakland Raiders fan even consider paying money to attend games? Why spend money on merchandise? Why would fans not bail? Their team abandoned them.

Overall, it seems as if the NFL hates much of its fan base. You have three teams moving to new cities. The Rams and Chargers pee’d all over their fan base, and are moving to a city that was unable to support NFL previously. Then the NFL approved the Raiders moving. Adding insult to injury. It’s a pretty shoddy way to treat the fans, especially with all the craziness last year.

They can’t actually expect the Rams, Chargers, and Raiders local fan bases to stay with the teams, can they? I know if my NJ Devils moved out of NJ, I wouldn’t be a fan of them anymore. I may live in North Carolina, but they’ve been my team since growing up in NJ and them coming in 1984. Wouldn’t be the same.

Now, if it was the Dodgers and they moved to Wichita? Perhaps. Always been my team, but, I’ve never lived there. But, I would expect local Dodgers fans to turn their backs on the Devils.

Oh, and those who will be fans in Las Vegas? Just remember, the Raiders blew off their fans in Oakland twice now, and in Los Angeles once. You could be next.

And, yes, it’s a business. This business requires fans, though. Die hard local fans. They have the money.

Warmists Freak Over Teachers Being Sent Skeptical Books

It’s a horrible, horrible thing being exposed to different viewpoints in the education system, eh? And totally chilling! (Via Twitchy)

See? Chilling

(PBS) Twenty-five thousand science teachers opened their mailboxes this month and found a package from the Heartland Institute, a libertarian think tank that rejects the scientific consensus on climate change.

It contained the organization’s book “Why Scientists Disagree About Global Warming,” as well as a DVD rejecting the human role in climate change and arguing instead that rising temperatures have been caused primarily by natural phenomena. The material will be sent to an additional 25,000 teachers every two weeks until every public-school science teacher in the nation has a copy, Heartland president and CEO Joseph Bast said in an interview last week. If so, the campaign would reach more than 200,000 K-12 science teachers.

It’s so scary, asking teachers of science to have open minds!

Illegal Aliens Are Cancelling Their Food Stamps Or Something

Supposedly, “undocumented immigrants”, in other words, those who are unlawfully present in the U.S., are ineligible for food stamps. In practice, many illegals are getting more in food stamps than U.S. citizens. And NPR notices something interesting

Deportation Fears Prompt Immigrants To Cancel Food Stamps

Groups that help low-income families get food assistance are alarmed by a recent drop in the number of immigrants seeking help. Some families are even canceling their food stamps and other government benefits, for fear that receiving them will affect their immigration status or lead to deportation. Many of the concerns appear to be unfounded but have been fueled by the Trump administration’s tough stance on immigration.

Officials at Manna Food Center in Montgomery County, Md., report that about 20 percent of the 561 families they have helped apply for food stamps, or SNAP benefits, in the past few months have asked that their cases be closed.

Maria Chavez, an outreach worker for Manna, says her immigrant clients are scared, especially if they’re unauthorized parents getting SNAP benefits for their eligible American children.

“They say, ‘I want to close my food stamp.’ And I say, ‘Why you want to close it?’ They say, ‘Well, because I am afraid that something [will] happen to me or they [will] deport me,’ ” says Chavez. (snip)

“There’s so much misinformation that it’s creating a lot of anxiety among all immigrants right now,” says Matthew Lopas, an attorney with the National Immigration Law Center, which is trying to allay people’s fears. “Nothing in the law has changed as of now, and there’s certainly no danger at this point in using programs for which a person is eligible.”

Illegal aliens should be fearful that they will be deported, because they are here…get this…unlawfully. However, federal authorities aren’t targeting the average illegal alien, just the ones that are involved in the criminal justice system because they’ve committed a crime beyond being unlawfully present in the United States. But, if they can be scared enough, perhaps they will voluntarily leave, and this fear will also reduce those who might come illegally in the future.

OH NO! Illegal Immigrants Are Avoiding Free School Lunches Because They Fear Deportation

Illegal immigrants in Connecticut say they are now scared to sign their children up for free or reduced-priced school lunches because they believe doing so will run the risk of deportation.

The News-Times, Danbury’s daily newspaper, has the story.

Illegal immigrant parents have been calling the Danbury school district offices to ask if federal immigration officials can gain access to the forms they must complete to access taxpayer-funded free lunches or lunch discounts.

District employees say “hundreds” of illegal immigrant parents have expressed concerns in recent months. Most are scared their immigration status could be exposed because of their participation in lunch programs. A few have gone so far as to consider pulling their kids out of school.

Here’s the thing: there are consequences for actions. Illegal aliens made the decision to come to the U.S. illegally or overstayed their visas. They brought children with them and had children here. The only people at fault are themselves. If they were in compliance with the law they wouldn’t be scared.

Criminals should be scared.

Shockingly, Liberal News Media Freaks Over Trump Obliterating Obama’s Climate Legacy

Barack Obama has two climate legacies. The first is the passage of rules by unelected bureaucrats which artificially raise the cost of living which hurts the middle and lower classes, plus kills jobs. This, of course, doesn’t hurt rich Obama or all his rich friends and donors.

The other legacy is the guy who used vast amounts of fossil fuels to fundraise, vacation, and play golf. The guy who took multiple private jets to ferry his family on vacation. The guy who kept the White House very warm. The guy who didn’t practice what he preached.

As you well know by now, Trump signed orders Tuesday which will work to wipe away part of the first legacy. I have a suggestion for Mr. Trump

https://twitter.com/WilliamTeach/status/847045651687002113

Instead of applying to coal and gas fired power plants, the rules should force certain print, Internet, and broadcast news outlets to reduce their own carbon footprints. Massive fees for the use of paper from trees. Extremely low wattage lightbulbs for studios. Carbon taxes. And so forth. Because, hey, if they want to complain like this

Trump Risks the Planet

That didn’t take long.

Only 10 weeks into his presidency, and at great risk to future generations, Donald Trump has ordered the demolition of most of President Barack Obama’s policies to combat climate change by reducing emissions from fossil fuels.

The assault began with Mr. Trump’s pledge in Detroit to roll back fuel efficiency standards for cars and trucks, continued with a stingy budget plan that would end funding for climate-related scientific programs and reached an unhappy apex Tuesday with an executive order that, among things, would rescind the centerpiece of Mr. Obama’s clean power strategy, a rule that would shut down hundreds of old coal-fired power plants and freeze the construction of new ones.

Why doesn’t the NY Times get all it’s power from solar and wind? They could put solar panels all over the roof, and lead the way. What’s that? Covering the roof in solar panels would barely keep low wattage lights on, much less all the computers, climate control, and refrigerators? Huh.

Trump puts the planet on a dangerous path

UNDER PRESIDENT Barack Obama’s leadership, the world finally began addressing one of the greatest challenges human beings have ever faced, a multi-generational struggle to keep the planet temperate and accommodating to human life. President Trump’s move to rip up Mr. Obama’s climate policies are beyond reckless. Children studying his presidency will ask, “How could anyone have done this?”

(standard Warmist talking points and doomsaying)

The nation had a climate policy. Now it does not. If Mr. Trump has a plan that would significantly cut greenhouse emissions in a smarter way than Mr. Obama’s Clean Power Plan — indeed, a few senior Republican statesmen offered one just a few weeks back — he should propose it. Instead, the president has put the country on a know-nothing path to an endangered planet.

Endangered! From, if Warmist prognostication holds up, a couple degrees rise in average temperature.

Those were from the Editorial Boards of the NY Times and Washington Post, the nation’s two leading newspapers. Boards full of rich people who refuse to live the life they espouse for Everyone Else. I wonder how they would feel if there was a Clean Media Plan? You can bet that, suddenly, forcing the news, and, heck, let’s extend this to the entertainment industry, to pay through the nose would cause caterwauling and lots of crazy logic on why they shouldn’t be targeted.

Then there’s crazy John Podesta

Trump is on a rampage to endanger the planet. Now it’s up to us to save it.

You don’t need to read it. It’s nutty, just like you’d expect, and even includes the childish whine about Hillary getting 3 million more votes (in Democrat held areas). Well, Trump won the only vote count that matters. If Democrat held areas want to burden themselves with rules, taxes, and fees that harm the middle and lower classes, have at it. Rich people like Podesta won’t feel a thing.

Illegal Alien Busted At Courthouse Pleads Guilty To Felony

Remember weeks back when an unlawfully present gender confused was arrested at a courthouse, and supporters of illegal aliens with criminal accusations and convictions whined?

(Fox News) “The illegal immigrant who was arrested in February after seeking a protective order from her boyfriend pled guilty to illegal reentry Friday, according to an agreement with United States attorney Richard Durbin.

“In this case, removal from the United States is presumptively mandatory,” reads the agreement, a copy of which was obtained by KFOX.”

“Interest in Irvin Gonzalez’s case hit the national level nearly overnight when she was arrested on Feb. 9 while walking into a courthouse to get a protective order.”

Illegal reentry is a federal felony, typically with a civil penalty of removal from the country.

“Gonzalez has a criminal history in the United States. She has been deported six times and spent over a year in jail for crimes including domestic battery, illegal entry, and possession of stolen mail. The criminal history may have been extended had it not been for her illegal entry arrest, authorities say.”

And this is an illegal Democrats are supporting.

Judicial Watch Sues EPA And Commerce Over Withheld Climate FOIA Requests

In case you’ve forgotten, the Obama administration was the most transparent eveh!

(Daily Caller)  A government watchdog group filed suit against the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for not handing over records related to the “environmental justice” grants the agency hands out to activist groups across the country.

Judicial Watch filed suit Monday after the EPA failed to comply with a 2015 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request seeking records of environmental justice grants and their associated proposals during the Obama administration.

“The Obama EPA’s ‘environmental justice’ slush fund for its left-wing allies needs to be exposed,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said in a statement. “This is a simple records request and the fact that the Obama EPA ignored it for years tells you the agency has something to hide.”

They also filed suit over other records

Judicial Watch today announced it filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia asking the court to compel the U.S. Department of Commerce to turn over all records of communications between a pair of federal scientists who heavily influenced the Obama administration’s climate change policy and its backing of the Paris Agreement (Judicial Watch v. Department of Commerce (No. 1:17-cv-00541)).

The suit was filed after the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (“NOAA”), a component of the Department of Commerce, failed to respond to a February 6 FOIA request seeking

  • All records of communications between NOAA scientist Thomas Karl and Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy John Holdren.
  • The FOIA request covers the timeframe of January 20, 2009 to January 20, 2017.

Karl, who until last year was director of the NOAA section that produces climate data, the National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI), was the lead author of a landmark paper that was reported to have heavily influenced the Paris Agreement.

Holdren, a former director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, director of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, and long-time proponent of strong measures to curb emissions.

Mr. Trump and his appointees should be paying attention, and requiring their departments to release the information. Nothing is worse for the Cult of Climastrology than having their methods and means exposed to sunlight.

Justice Department Takes Aim At Sanctuary Cities

AG Jeff Sessions is putting cities that protect criminal illegal aliens, ones with crimes on their resumes like homicide, arson, assault, identity theft, rape, and sexual assault against a child, on notice

(ABC News) Attorney General Jeff Sessions made a surprise appearance at today’s White House press briefing, slamming cities that are working to ignore the federal law to turn over people who are living in the country illegally.

Sessions said he “strongly urges” these cities, known as sanctuary cities, to “consider carefully” the damage they are doing to national security and public safety by refusing to enforce immigration laws.

“Unfortunately some states and cities have adopted policies designed to frustrate the enforcement of immigration laws,” including refusing to detain nonfelons on federal detainer requests, Sessions said.

Sessions noted a Department of Homeland Security report out last week showing more than 200 criminal suspects released in one week despite Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainers.

“Such policies cannot continue. They make our nation less safe by putting dangerous criminals back on the streets,” he added.

What does he plan to do about this?

“We intend to use all the lawful authorities we have to make sure our state and local officials … are in sync with the federal government,” Sessions said.

“Moreover, the Department of Justice will require that jurisdictions seeking or applying for Department of Justice grants to certify compliance with [relevant laws] as a condition of receiving those awards,” he added.

In the current fiscal year, Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs is slated to award $4.1 billion in grants.

For cities, that’s a lot of money to lose.

He brought up the death of Kate Steinle, a woman who was allegedly shot and killed by an unauthorized immigrant on a San Francisco pier last summer. Donald Trump repeatedly cited her death during the presidential campaign when he called for an end to sanctuary cities.

Allegedly? Allegedly? It’s 100% true that Kate was murdered by an illegal alien criminal who had been deported six times for various criminal convictions. This is why the media has lost credibility.

Anyway, this has made many who support sanctuary cities, and, by extension, child raping illegal aliens, upset

(LA Times) California Senate leader Kevin de León on Monday called U.S. Atty. Gen. Jeff Sessions’ move to cut federal funding from so-called sanctuary cities “nothing short of blackmail.”

In a statement, De León (D-Los Angeles) said Sessions and the Trump administration “stuck to alternative facts” when describing immigrants and sanctuary counties and cities, where local policies limit the cooperation of law enforcement agencies with federal authorities on immigration laws.

“Instead of making us safer, the Trump administration is spreading fear and promoting race-based scapegoating,” he said. “Their gun-to-the-head method to force resistant cities and counties to participate in Trump’s inhumane and counterproductive mass-deportation is unconstitutional and will fail.”

Is it blackmail? Perhaps. But, then, it shouldn’t be necessary to do this to get cities to cooperate with federal law regarding people who are unlawfully present in the United States who have not only been accused of crimes, but, in most cases, been convicted of crimes. Like molesting children.

And, let’s face it, it’s not like the U.S. government hasn’t done similar things. Obama threatened to withhold school funding for those who refused to kowtow to the gender confused.

(LA Times) Still, officials in sanctuary cities across California scrambled to touch base on Monday with attorneys to explore their legal options. For most cities, the move to declare themselves sanctuary jurisdictions largely serves as a message of political support for immigrants in the country illegally.

So, they are going to fight to support those unlawfully present in the country who are child molesters. Is this the fight Democrat cities really want?

Kate Steinle was unavailable for comment. Nor was Drew Rosenberg, who was hit then run over three times by an illegal alien in San Francisco, which refused to cooperate with federal authorities, and released the illegal to the streets after 43 days in jail. Nor all the children molested by illegal aliens. Sure you want this fight, Democrats?
