Shockingly, Liberal News Media Freaks Over Trump Obliterating Obama’s Climate Legacy

Barack Obama has two climate legacies. The first is the passage of rules by unelected bureaucrats which artificially raise the cost of living which hurts the middle and lower classes, plus kills jobs. This, of course, doesn’t hurt rich Obama or all his rich friends and donors.

The other legacy is the guy who used vast amounts of fossil fuels to fundraise, vacation, and play golf. The guy who took multiple private jets to ferry his family on vacation. The guy who kept the White House very warm. The guy who didn’t practice what he preached.

As you well know by now, Trump signed orders Tuesday which will work to wipe away part of the first legacy. I have a suggestion for Mr. Trump

https://twitter.com/WilliamTeach/status/847045651687002113

Instead of applying to coal and gas fired power plants, the rules should force certain print, Internet, and broadcast news outlets to reduce their own carbon footprints. Massive fees for the use of paper from trees. Extremely low wattage lightbulbs for studios. Carbon taxes. And so forth. Because, hey, if they want to complain like this

Trump Risks the Planet

That didn’t take long.

Only 10 weeks into his presidency, and at great risk to future generations, Donald Trump has ordered the demolition of most of President Barack Obama’s policies to combat climate change by reducing emissions from fossil fuels.

The assault began with Mr. Trump’s pledge in Detroit to roll back fuel efficiency standards for cars and trucks, continued with a stingy budget plan that would end funding for climate-related scientific programs and reached an unhappy apex Tuesday with an executive order that, among things, would rescind the centerpiece of Mr. Obama’s clean power strategy, a rule that would shut down hundreds of old coal-fired power plants and freeze the construction of new ones.

Why doesn’t the NY Times get all it’s power from solar and wind? They could put solar panels all over the roof, and lead the way. What’s that? Covering the roof in solar panels would barely keep low wattage lights on, much less all the computers, climate control, and refrigerators? Huh.

Trump puts the planet on a dangerous path

UNDER PRESIDENT Barack Obama’s leadership, the world finally began addressing one of the greatest challenges human beings have ever faced, a multi-generational struggle to keep the planet temperate and accommodating to human life. President Trump’s move to rip up Mr. Obama’s climate policies are beyond reckless. Children studying his presidency will ask, “How could anyone have done this?”

(standard Warmist talking points and doomsaying)

The nation had a climate policy. Now it does not. If Mr. Trump has a plan that would significantly cut greenhouse emissions in a smarter way than Mr. Obama’s Clean Power Plan — indeed, a few senior Republican statesmen offered one just a few weeks back — he should propose it. Instead, the president has put the country on a know-nothing path to an endangered planet.

Endangered! From, if Warmist prognostication holds up, a couple degrees rise in average temperature.

Those were from the Editorial Boards of the NY Times and Washington Post, the nation’s two leading newspapers. Boards full of rich people who refuse to live the life they espouse for Everyone Else. I wonder how they would feel if there was a Clean Media Plan? You can bet that, suddenly, forcing the news, and, heck, let’s extend this to the entertainment industry, to pay through the nose would cause caterwauling and lots of crazy logic on why they shouldn’t be targeted.

Then there’s crazy John Podesta

Trump is on a rampage to endanger the planet. Now it’s up to us to save it.

You don’t need to read it. It’s nutty, just like you’d expect, and even includes the childish whine about Hillary getting 3 million more votes (in Democrat held areas). Well, Trump won the only vote count that matters. If Democrat held areas want to burden themselves with rules, taxes, and fees that harm the middle and lower classes, have at it. Rich people like Podesta won’t feel a thing.

Illegal Alien Busted At Courthouse Pleads Guilty To Felony

Remember weeks back when an unlawfully present gender confused was arrested at a courthouse, and supporters of illegal aliens with criminal accusations and convictions whined?

(Fox News) “The illegal immigrant who was arrested in February after seeking a protective order from her boyfriend pled guilty to illegal reentry Friday, according to an agreement with United States attorney Richard Durbin.

“In this case, removal from the United States is presumptively mandatory,” reads the agreement, a copy of which was obtained by KFOX.”

“Interest in Irvin Gonzalez’s case hit the national level nearly overnight when she was arrested on Feb. 9 while walking into a courthouse to get a protective order.”

Illegal reentry is a federal felony, typically with a civil penalty of removal from the country.

“Gonzalez has a criminal history in the United States. She has been deported six times and spent over a year in jail for crimes including domestic battery, illegal entry, and possession of stolen mail. The criminal history may have been extended had it not been for her illegal entry arrest, authorities say.”

And this is an illegal Democrats are supporting.

Judicial Watch Sues EPA And Commerce Over Withheld Climate FOIA Requests

In case you’ve forgotten, the Obama administration was the most transparent eveh!

(Daily Caller)  A government watchdog group filed suit against the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for not handing over records related to the “environmental justice” grants the agency hands out to activist groups across the country.

Judicial Watch filed suit Monday after the EPA failed to comply with a 2015 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request seeking records of environmental justice grants and their associated proposals during the Obama administration.

“The Obama EPA’s ‘environmental justice’ slush fund for its left-wing allies needs to be exposed,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said in a statement. “This is a simple records request and the fact that the Obama EPA ignored it for years tells you the agency has something to hide.”

They also filed suit over other records

Judicial Watch today announced it filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia asking the court to compel the U.S. Department of Commerce to turn over all records of communications between a pair of federal scientists who heavily influenced the Obama administration’s climate change policy and its backing of the Paris Agreement (Judicial Watch v. Department of Commerce (No. 1:17-cv-00541)).

The suit was filed after the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (“NOAA”), a component of the Department of Commerce, failed to respond to a February 6 FOIA request seeking

  • All records of communications between NOAA scientist Thomas Karl and Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy John Holdren.
  • The FOIA request covers the timeframe of January 20, 2009 to January 20, 2017.

Karl, who until last year was director of the NOAA section that produces climate data, the National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI), was the lead author of a landmark paper that was reported to have heavily influenced the Paris Agreement.

Holdren, a former director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, director of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology, and long-time proponent of strong measures to curb emissions.

Mr. Trump and his appointees should be paying attention, and requiring their departments to release the information. Nothing is worse for the Cult of Climastrology than having their methods and means exposed to sunlight.

Justice Department Takes Aim At Sanctuary Cities

AG Jeff Sessions is putting cities that protect criminal illegal aliens, ones with crimes on their resumes like homicide, arson, assault, identity theft, rape, and sexual assault against a child, on notice

(ABC News) Attorney General Jeff Sessions made a surprise appearance at today’s White House press briefing, slamming cities that are working to ignore the federal law to turn over people who are living in the country illegally.

Sessions said he “strongly urges” these cities, known as sanctuary cities, to “consider carefully” the damage they are doing to national security and public safety by refusing to enforce immigration laws.

“Unfortunately some states and cities have adopted policies designed to frustrate the enforcement of immigration laws,” including refusing to detain nonfelons on federal detainer requests, Sessions said.

Sessions noted a Department of Homeland Security report out last week showing more than 200 criminal suspects released in one week despite Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainers.

“Such policies cannot continue. They make our nation less safe by putting dangerous criminals back on the streets,” he added.

What does he plan to do about this?

“We intend to use all the lawful authorities we have to make sure our state and local officials … are in sync with the federal government,” Sessions said.

“Moreover, the Department of Justice will require that jurisdictions seeking or applying for Department of Justice grants to certify compliance with [relevant laws] as a condition of receiving those awards,” he added.

In the current fiscal year, Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs is slated to award $4.1 billion in grants.

For cities, that’s a lot of money to lose.

He brought up the death of Kate Steinle, a woman who was allegedly shot and killed by an unauthorized immigrant on a San Francisco pier last summer. Donald Trump repeatedly cited her death during the presidential campaign when he called for an end to sanctuary cities.

Allegedly? Allegedly? It’s 100% true that Kate was murdered by an illegal alien criminal who had been deported six times for various criminal convictions. This is why the media has lost credibility.

Anyway, this has made many who support sanctuary cities, and, by extension, child raping illegal aliens, upset

(LA Times) California Senate leader Kevin de León on Monday called U.S. Atty. Gen. Jeff Sessions’ move to cut federal funding from so-called sanctuary cities “nothing short of blackmail.”

In a statement, De León (D-Los Angeles) said Sessions and the Trump administration “stuck to alternative facts” when describing immigrants and sanctuary counties and cities, where local policies limit the cooperation of law enforcement agencies with federal authorities on immigration laws.

“Instead of making us safer, the Trump administration is spreading fear and promoting race-based scapegoating,” he said. “Their gun-to-the-head method to force resistant cities and counties to participate in Trump’s inhumane and counterproductive mass-deportation is unconstitutional and will fail.”

Is it blackmail? Perhaps. But, then, it shouldn’t be necessary to do this to get cities to cooperate with federal law regarding people who are unlawfully present in the United States who have not only been accused of crimes, but, in most cases, been convicted of crimes. Like molesting children.

And, let’s face it, it’s not like the U.S. government hasn’t done similar things. Obama threatened to withhold school funding for those who refused to kowtow to the gender confused.

(LA Times) Still, officials in sanctuary cities across California scrambled to touch base on Monday with attorneys to explore their legal options. For most cities, the move to declare themselves sanctuary jurisdictions largely serves as a message of political support for immigrants in the country illegally.

So, they are going to fight to support those unlawfully present in the country who are child molesters. Is this the fight Democrat cities really want?

Kate Steinle was unavailable for comment. Nor was Drew Rosenberg, who was hit then run over three times by an illegal alien in San Francisco, which refused to cooperate with federal authorities, and released the illegal to the streets after 43 days in jail. Nor all the children molested by illegal aliens. Sure you want this fight, Democrats?

Trump Set To Sign Order Rolling Back Obama’s ‘Climate Change’ Orders

It’s the next step in obliterating Obama’s Hotcoldwetdry legacy. Of course, there’s not much Trump can do to erase how much carbon pollution Obama released with all his travel on Air Force One and in giant fossil fueled vehicle convoys to pretend to attend official events before hitting the golf course and/or fundraisers, plus all the vacations

Trump moves decisively to wipe out Obama’s climate-change record

President Trump will take the most significant step yet in obliterating his predecessor’s environmental record Tuesday, instructing federal regulators to rewrite key rules curbing U.S. carbon emissions.

The sweeping executive order also seeks to lift a moratorium on federal coal leasing and remove the requirement that federal officials consider the impact of climate change when making decisions.

The order sends an unmistakable signal that just as President Barack Obama sought to weave climate considerations into every aspect of the federal government, Trump is hoping to rip that approach out by its roots.

“This policy is in keeping with President Trump’s desire to make the United States energy independent,” said a senior administration official who briefed reporters on the directive Monday evening and asked for anonymity to speak in advance of the announcement. “When it comes to climate change, we want to take our course and do it in our own form and fashion.”

The primary focus of this is the Clean Power Plan. It could possibly take years to unwind this terrible rule, which could involve getting the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals involved, since dozens of states sued Obama over the passage of this rule. Trump could direct States to ignore the rule in the meantime, since they were supposed to come up with plans to basically harm their energy producing sector while increasing costs on consumers. It would be worthwhile for Congress to take up a measure to do away with the rule, forcing Democrats to explain in the Senate, as they filibuster, why they want lower and middle class citizens to pay more for energy, and, by extension, everything else.

From the second paragraph in the excerpt, the latter bit is about removing need to consider the “social cost of carbon” idiocy in federal government rules and operations. That is possibly bigger than working to end the Clean Power Plan.

(AP) It will also rescind Obama-era executive orders and memoranda, including one that addressed climate change and national security and one that sought to prepare the country for the impacts of climate change.

So, this order will be pretty far ranging. The one thing it doesn’t do is pull the U.S. out of the Paris Climate Accord. But, hey, maybe this could be a surprise in the order, one which will send the Credentialed Media into apoplexy?

Illegal Alien Kidnaps Nice Lady Who Was Feeding Him

These are the kinds of illegal aliens that liberals are trying to protect

(Fox News)  An illegal immigrant tied up a Texas woman, forced her into her car and tried to drive off with her on Wednesday, but the woman was able to escape and eventually helped lead authorities to her suspected attacker, officials said.

The man was not identified, and it was unknown how long he had been in the U.S. or what country he comes from. A media relations person was not available on Sunday to respond to questions from Fox News.

The man was charged with burglary of a habitation with intent to commit a felony and aggravated kidnapping. He also faces immigration proceedings, and is being held at Dimmit County Jail, a Friday statement from U.S. Customs and Border Protection said.

Here’s the kicker

The woman told authorities she had been supplying food and water to the man, who was staying somewhere behind her house, for three days before he allegedly tried to kidnap her. She escaped as the man tried to start her car, officials said.

Remember, they’re all little angels according to Democrat Doctrine.

Your Flat Screen TV Is Causing The Somalia Drought

No, really

The wackadoodle part of the NY Times article

South Sudan and Somalia, for instance, have relatively few vehicles and almost no industry. But their fields are drying up and their pastureland is vanishing, scientists say, partly because of the global effects of pollution. People in these countries suffer from other people’s driving, other people’s manufacturing and other people’s attachment to things like flat-screen TVs and iPads that most Somalis and South Sudanese will touch only in their dreams.

I guess it’s time for Warmists like Bill McKibben to stop using TVs and smartphones.

British City Linked To Islamic Jihadis Winces And Wonders Why Or Something

Navel gazing while missing all the lint

British City Linked to Jihadis Winces and Asks Why

Outside the Maasha’Allah internet cafe, Mohammed Hussain raised his voice over the recorded Quranic verses blaring from the abaya shop two doors down. He was furious that Britain’s latest terrorist attacker had amplified his city’s stigma.

“Why do all the jihadis come to Birmingham?” he half-shouted, prompting a passing group of teenage girls in bright-colored head scarves to frown, then giggle.

Exaggeration or not, many people are asking that question. Khalid Masood, 52, the Briton responsible for the deadly attack outside Parliament last week, remains a puzzle to investigators working on how, why and when he was radicalized.

But one aspect is familiar: He had a connection to Birmingham, having moved almost a year ago to this city of 1.1 million, where more than than one in five residents declare Islam as their religion.

Birmingham is chock full of Islamist extremists. It has been linked to many, many, many attacks and plots. I wonder why

Members of Birmingham’s Muslim communities acknowledged the linkage between their city and Islamist extremism, which many attribute to poverty and drug abuse that make youths vulnerable to jihadist recruiters who operate like gangs. But Muslims in Birmingham also deeply resent what they see as a grossly unfair reputation, countering that most residents are proud and law-abiding.

In other words, this is turning into yet another attempt to protect the extremists in Islam, a section of the religion that continues to grow. Poverty and drugs? Maybe for a small number, but, why not consider all the extremism being preached in the mosques and Islamic schools? Why not consider that Islamic leaders are teaching an extremist view of Islam, a more fundamentalist view, which then leads Muslims to the jihadi viewpoint?

Nonetheless, Birmingham, Britain’s second-biggest city behind London, has produced a disproportionate number of convicted Islamist militants, including some linked to the Sept. 11 attacks, and to last year’s bombings in Brussels.

So many Islamist militants have been born in Birmingham — or have passed through — that the Birmingham Mail newspaper once lamented that the city had the dubious distinction of “Terror Central.”

The problem is Islam, and, until the so-called moderates attempt to take control of their religion, those with hardcore viewpoints will continue indoctrinating others into those viewpoints. No, not all will turn into jihadis willing to fight. But, enough will. Some do attempt to counter the extremism. But, as long as they are still teaching Islam like it’s an 8th century religion, that women are second class citizens, that gays should be hung till dead, that women can’t drive, that they cannot go out in public with heads uncovered, and so much more, they will be exposing their members to the hardcore elements.

Interesting food for thought from the article

Mr. Videcette, the former counterterrorism official, said extremist networks are run “like the mafia” and include bookshops that sell extremist literature. They also organize tours and talks involving hate preachers, he said, and use some mosques to raise funds.

“It’s a business for them,” he said. “When we say terrorism, people tend to think it’s about religion. It’s not. This is always about money.”

One man in Britain who blurred the boundary between religion and violent extremism is Anjem Choudary, a founder of Al Muhajiroun, which is classified as a terror organization.

Mr. Choudary, who is now in prison after he was convicted last year of encouraging support for the Islamic State, had preached in Birmingham several times in recent years. His entourage would arrive in big vans on Coventry Road, an area associated with conservative Islam, preaching and distributing leaflets.

“They turned religion into a gang-type thing, with thugs around him saying, ‘Come join our gang,’” said Mr. Ashfaq, the director of Kikit. Their message, he said, was “you can be cool, you can become a gangster jihadi.”

That may work in Birmingham. How about in the Muslim nations around the world?
