General Mattis Notes What Keeps Other People Up At Night

The guy is a quote machine, a genuine badass, and people and countries that want to screw with the United States should think at least a dozen times

(Daily Caller) Sec. of Defense James Mattis, known for his frank quotes about the realities of war, offered up a line befitting his nickname, “Mad Dog,” during an interview airing Sunday.

“What keeps you awake at night?” CBS “Face the Nation” host John Dickerson asked Mattis.

“Nothing,” a stonefaced Mattis responded. “I keep other people awake at night.”

A lot of liberals wet their Hillary Clinton store purchased panties over that one.

US Could Join Syria And Nicaragua As Nonparticipants In Paris Climate Agreement Or Something

Gee, there’s no political bias from media in this at all

If Trump pulls out of climate deal, US could join Syria and Nicaragua as nonparticipants

If President Trump decides to pull out of the 2015 Paris accord on climate change, the United States could become one of only three nations in a U.N. climate group not to be signed onto the deal.

Trump announced in a tweet Saturday that he would make his “final decision” this week on whether or not to keep the U.S. in the landmark accord in which nations agreed to work toward curbing greenhouse gas emissions to address climate change.

“I will make my final decision on the Paris Accord next week!” the president wrote. (snip)

The December 2015 deal has as of this month been signed by all 197 countries in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change except two: Syria and Nicaragua. Of the 195 that have signed, 147 have ratified the accord.

Except, this is all a bunch of mule fritters, playing semantics. The United States did “sign on“, in the version of Obama giving his signature, on April 22, 2016 (Earth Day, of course). Neither Syria nor Nicaragua signed on to start with. Pulling out would not be the same thing.

If we want to play this game, Obama put himself in company of such luminaries such as Iran, North Korea, and Venezuela by signing on. And Russia, the Lefties current bugaboo nation.

Charles Blow Has Utter Meltdown For Memorial Day

One has to wonder if it is psychologically safe for liberals to live in this heightened sense of perpetual outrage all day every day. To see things as not just bad, but apocalyptic. To be utterly and completely negative day after day after day, and to be doing this at an even higher level than during the George W. Bush years. Witness the New York Times’ Charles Blow, in full meltdown

Donald Trump: The Gateway Degenerate

Last week, when voters in Montana elected Greg Gianforte to fill the state’s lone seat in the House of Representatives, even after he was recorded in a physical altercation with a reporter, many Americans — like me — were left to look on in astonished bewilderment.

Realistically, most do not care except unhinged liberals. But, Blow goes on and on and on about this before getting to his real point

Outrageous. Assault is not a game. It’s not a joke. It’s criminal. Any moral person would know better than to treat it so cavalierly. A moral person wouldn’t make a joke; that person would take a stand.

Funny, liberals were rather cool with brushing off all the violence from liberals during the time of Obama, and especially in the past few years when Democrats were in the streets rioting, assaulting, destroying, committing arson, shooting police officers, throwing things at police officers.

But Republicans in the age of Trump have sadly moved away from morality as a viable concept.

Yes, Gianforte’s assault is a glaring display of toxic masculinity in an environment made particularly toxic by the man in the White House and his media bullying. But more telling and more ominous is the degree to which Republicans no longer seem to care, and their increasing ability to compartmentalize and justify.

This is all an outgrowth of Trump’s degradation of common decency. Trump was the gateway candidate. When Republicans allowed themselves to accept and support him in spite of his glaring flaws and his life lived in opposition to the values they once professed and insisted upon, they moved themselves into another moral realm in which literally nothing was beyond the pale.

Interesting. Democratic Party insiders conspired to blow out the candidacy of Bernie Sanders in favor of Hillary Clinton, who not only stood by her man in the face of numerous and credible sexual assault accusations, but worked to destroy the women accusing Bill, and can even be said to have enable the behavior of Bill. The stood by her despite the criminal and ethically challenged behavior from her when it came to her email server and the Clinton Foundation, among others. I don’t recall Blow complaining about Obama siccing the IRS on political opponents, either. Nor about Obama using the power of the US intelligence agencies to spy on citizens, including reporters.

Republicans sold their souls to this devil and now are forced to defend as right what they know full well is wrong. They must defend his incessant lying, clear incompetence and dubious dealings. What was once sacrilege among Republicans is now sacrosanct.

It is in that context that Gianforte could be charged with assault and Republicans would pat him on the back instead of rapping him on the knuckles.

Republicans, blinded by fear and rage, thirsty for power, desperate for a reclamation and reassertion of racial power, have cast their lot with the great deceiver and all their previous deal-breakers are now negotiable.

Uh huh

There’s plenty of other Democrats we can mention who are ethically challenged.

California Looks To Thwart Federal Immigration Law By Targeting Private Business

Hey, remember when we were told by Democrats that federal law trumps state law? Things like Arizona’s SB1070, anti-gay marriage and anti-gender confused men in girl’s bathrooms bills/referendums, and so forth? Huh

California bills target private business to help immigrants

California Democrats are expanding their efforts to resist President Donald Trump’s crackdown on immigrants in the country illegally with bills aimed at limiting how much private businesses can cooperate with federal immigration authorities.

Democrats control all levels of state government, and leaders have vowed to resist Trump administration policies at every turn. Immigration is among their key issues, but most legislation so far has been aimed at limiting what police can do to help immigration authorities and providing additional state services and support to immigrants in the country illegally.

Now, two bills that advanced in the Assembly in the past week are taking aim at private businesses.

A measure that would bar landlords from disclosing tenants’ immigration status or reporting them to immigration officials passed the chamber. A bill prohibiting public and private employers from letting immigration agents come into their worksites or view their employee files cleared a committee.

Both bills contain exceptions if employers or landlords are complying with a warrant or subpoena.

In other words, this is a crackdown on employers and landlords from complying with federal laws voluntarily, which the law kinda requires that they comply with the law voluntarily.

Assemblyman Kevin Kiley, who opposes the measures, said he thinks they could actually promote fear in immigrant communities, and existing laws already protect tenants. He said the proposals, along with many of the other immigration bills introduced this session, are designed more to make a political statement than to enact good policy.

“If you have a private citizen who provides certain information at the behest of a federal authority, they might end up facing (consequences) just for complying with the request,” the Sacramento-area Republican said. “Measures like that do more harm than good.”

Meanwhile, the California jails are overflowing with criminal illegal aliens. Murderers, rapists, thieves, gang members, etc. Hospital emergency rooms have closed due to illegals using them as doctor’s offices. And so many more issues. It’d be funny as hell if Trump said “we aren’t going to bother going after illegals in California, so all who are here illegally should go there.” Let California deal with the fallout.

Trump Supposedly Ready To Pull Out Of Worthless Paris Climate Agreement

Is this something? Is it real? Axios’ Johnathan Swan and Amy Harder have a bold scoop

Scoop: Trump tells confidants U.S. will quit Paris climate deal

President Trump has privately told multiple people, including EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt, that he plans to leave the Paris agreement on climate change, according to three sources with direct knowledge.

Publicly, Trump’s position is that he has not made up his mind and when we asked the White House about these private comments, Director of Strategic Communications Hope Hicks said, “I think his tweet was clear. He will make a decision this week.”

Why this matters: Pulling out of Paris is the biggest thing Trump could to do unravel Obama’s climate policies. It also sends a stark and combative signal to the rest of the world that working with other nations on climate change isn’t a priority to the Trump administration. And pulling out threatens to unravel the ambition of the entire deal, given how integral former President Obama was in making it come together in the first place.

Caveat: Although Trump made it clear during the campaign and in multiple conversations before his overseas trip that he favored withdrawal, he has been known to abruptly change his mind — and often floats notions to gauge the reaction of friends and aides. On the trip, he spent many hours with Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, powerful advisers who back the deal.

Here’s the thing, as mentioned in the “caveat”: Trump made plenty of promises to pull out of Obama’s Paris Climate Agreement prior to the election. Yet, he’s been in office for over four months, and he has still not rescinded Obama’s signature on the document. He had plenty of time post-election to cobble something together in order to terminate America’s participation (due to one climahypocrites decree) in this massive forced taxpayer money distributive scheme which would make almost no difference in the global temperature, a whopping .3C by 2100, at a cost of $1 to $2 trillion per year globally. That’s if the computer models from the Cult of Climastrology can be trusted. And they can’t. It would most likely make no difference to the temperature, but, it would be great for the fascists who want to enable more and more power in centralized governments.

The unnamed official lays out three ways that Trump could do this. First is send a notification that America is pulling out, which could take years, and would give Trump time to change his mind. Second, he could put it up to the Senate for ratification, which would certainly end with it being toast. Even with the Warmist GOP Senators, such as Lindsay Graham and John McCain, it wouldn’t get the 2/3rds necessary.

Third, he could simply pull out of the entire U.N. hotcoldwetdry framework, the entire Intergovernmental Panel On Climate Change, the 1992 UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

There is a fourth option, which few discuss, and could be tricky, and that’s simply to sign an executive order disposing of Obama’s signature on the Paris agreement, since the original signature amounted to an executive order. Despite the document being set up to avoid handing it to the Senate for agreement as a treaty, it still resembles a treaty, which requires the Senate to agree. As that never happened, Trump could whack it with the old John Hancock.

He could also say that while the U.S. will not pull out, we will not participate in anything having to do with the PCC, since it is, essentially, voluntary at its heart. This is dangerous, as it would leave it in force for a future Democrat president.

What happens? I guess we’ll see.

Tough Time Sleeping? Blame ‘Climate Change’

This is what cults do. Blame/link everything

From the link

I’s no surprise that a change in our planet’s climate would affect our coastlines, our weather patterns and our food supply. But here’s something you may not have considered before: Global warming might also affect how well we sleep at night.

In a paper published Friday in Science Advances, researchers show that when local temperatures get unusually high people don’t sleep as well as they usually do. And if climate trends continue, we can expect to have more frequent heat waves that also last longer.

How did humans survive all the previous warm periods?

If All You See…

The blog of the day is Legal Insurrection, with a post on Hillary’s coughing commencement.

It’s actually hard to find shots of Melissa Benoist in skimpy clothes, sexy clothes, heck, even swimsuits. She doesn’t seem to be the kind of celebrity running around doing Instagram stuff, flaunting her body (then complaining about body shaming), or any of the other things we see from celebs. Underneath the fold is the closest you’re really going to find for her, so, a second blog of the day is Maggie’s Farm, with a post on James Watson being blackballed
