New Warmist Idea: Envirowackos Should Take Over Christmas Or Something

Tom Nelson has his Twitter tagline as “Climate change is the religion of people who think they’re too smart for religion.” The hardcore enviroweenies/members of the Cult of Climastrology are typically the same people who complain about seeing anything religious …well, when it comes to Christianity/Judaism… in public spaces. And, of course, the Cultists have to link their cult to everything, including Christmas

The True Meaning of Christmas

My partner, Amy Gustin, had a great idea the other day. This is not at all unusual for her. A lot of my columns begin with one of her great ideas, and this is one of them. The other day, Amy was perusing some books about the cave paintings at Lascaux and Chauvet while contemplating the flora and fauna of Ice Age Europe, and speculating about the Paleolithic origins of certain pagan European Christmas symbols, when she said this: “Environmentalists should take over Christmas.”

“What?” I replied. She explained that a lot of European pagan Christmas symbols celebrate the Boreal Forest and an arctic climate. We have Christmas trees. Christmas is the only time of year when snow is popular, and Santa lives at the North Pole and gets around on a sled pulled by caribou. All of these things remind us of the arctic, and they should remind us that the arctic is undergoing dramatic changes due to global climate change.

Can you think of a better symbol for global climate change than Santa Claus? First, he drives a zero-emission, carbon-neutral vehicle, and he’s been doing it for centuries. Second, everything Santa owns faces imminent destruction, unless we can stop the sea ice from shrinking. Santa, Mrs. Claus, all of the elves and the whole toy factory are headed straight for a watery grave at the bottom of the ocean unless we stop global warming now.

Coca-Cola has done a great job of making the polar bear into a symbol of Christmas, and we should adopt that symbol wholeheartedly. Instead of Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus, put a mother polar bear and her two cubs in your nativity scene. I’m all for wise men, if you can find any, but how wise can your men be if they’re standing next to a hungry polar bear?

And, yes, the rest of the screed is just as cringe-inducing.

New Excuse: “Insurance Policy” Really Truly Totally Meant Aggressive Investigation Or Something

Previously, the texts between rogue, partisan FBI employees involved in investigating the fake Russian collusion were blamed on the agents having an illicit affair. And there are plenty of other defenses. Now we get

In FBI Agent’s Account, ‘Insurance Policy’ Text Referred to Russia Probe

An FBI agent’s reference to “an insurance policy” in a much-debated text message was meant to convey that the bureau needed to aggressively investigate allegations of collusion between Donald Trump’s campaign and Russia, according to people familiar with his account.

The text came after a meeting involving Ms. Page, Mr. Strzok and FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, according to people close to the pair and familiar with their version of events. At the meeting, Ms. Page suggested they could take their time investigating the alleged collusion because Mrs. Clinton was likely to win, the people said.

If they moved more deliberately, she argued, they could reduce the risk of burning sensitive sources.

Mr. Strzok felt otherwise, according to these people.

His text was meant to convey his belief that the investigation couldn’t afford to take a more measured approach because Mr. Trump could very well win the election, they said. It would be better to be aggressive and gather evidence quickly, he believed, because some of Mr. Trump’s associates could land administration jobs and it was important to know if they had colluded with Russia.

Remember, one of the texts referred to not being able to “take that risk”, and this defense really doesn’t help the narrative that these FBI employees were just doing their jobs. It reads almost as if they were trying to rush things through, just looking for something that could defeat Trump and give Hillary the Oval Office. It’s rogue partisanship. Especially when you connect the dots in terms of how Mr. Strzok was involved in spiking the Hillary investigation, one which would have put you or I in front of a jury.

Report: Obama Let Hezbollah Run Drugs And Arms To Get The Bad Iran Deal

Yesterday, we found out that the Obama DOJ and high levels of the DEA spiked a DEA investigation into a big opioid maker. Now we find, via Politico (glad they can tell us this stuff now), that the Obama administration spiked another investigation involving the DEA, along with other agencies. Ed Morrissey writes

Did the current administration “collude” with Russia? So far no evidence at all has emerged to support that hypothesis, but Politico’s Josh Meyer digs deep into another curious set of circumstances in the Obama White House and its own operations with a foreign power. Perhaps the media will start asking whether the previous administration colluded with Iran to let terrorists and drug dealers go free in order to score one of the worst deals ever in international relations.

Before Barack Obama decided to pursue the nuclear deal with Iran, the DEA had a major operation called Project Cassandra. This operation had identified Hezbollah as a major supplier of cocaine to the US and other countries, along with its usual terrorist activities on behalf of its sponsors in Tehran. The DEA and FBI had built criminal cases against major players in Hezbollah’s drug and arms networks, succeeding in getting sealed indictments and finding witnesses for prosecution.

It was pretty much a slam dunk case. But, Obama wanted his deal, regardless of how much it helped Iran and Hezzbollah

(Politico) One Obama-era Treasury official, Katherine Bauer, in little-noticed written testimony presented last February to the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, acknowledged that “under the Obama administration … these [Hezbollah-related] investigations were tamped down for fear of rocking the boat with Iran and jeopardizing the nuclear deal.”

As a result, some Hezbollah operatives were not pursued via arrests, indictments, or Treasury designations that would have blocked their access to U.S. financial markets, according to Bauer, a career Treasury official, who served briefly in its Office of Terrorist Financing as a senior policy adviser for Iran before leaving in late 2015. And other “Hezbollah facilitators” arrested in France, Colombia, Lithuania have not been extradited — or indicted — in the U.S., she wrote. …

The investigations just went away, in order to protect Obama’s buddies in Tehran and his desperately wanted deal. which, if you remember, simply kicked Iran’s nuclear weapons ambitions down the road for around 10 years.

And this was happening here in the United States, as well

In Philadelphia, the FBI-led task force had spent two years bolstering its case claiming that Safieddine had overseen an effort to purchase 1,200 military-grade assault rifles bound for Lebanon, with the help of Kelly and the special narcoterrorism prosecutors in New York.

Now, they had two key eyewitnesses. One would identify Safieddine as the Hezbollah official sitting behind a smoked-glass barricade who approved the assault weapons deal. And an agent and prosecutor had flown to a remote Asian hotel and spent four days persuading another eyewitness to testify about Safieddine’s role in an even bigger weapons and drugs conspiracy, multiple former law enforcement officials confirmed to POLITICO.

Convinced they had a strong case, the New York prosecutors sent a formal prosecution request to senior Justice Department lawyers in Washington, as required in such high-profile cases. The Justice Department rejected it, and the FBI and DEA agents were never told why, those former officials said.

Hezbollah was and is a terrorist organization, backed by Iran. The Obama administration spiked the investigation. Ed Morrissey wraps up with “The politicization of the DoJ to allow terrorists to operate unfettered in the US is nothing short of unconscionable. We’ve allowed ourselves to get distracted by the Russia story long enough. It’s long past time for Congress to take a very hard look at the Iran deal and the Obama administration’s operations in support of it.” He’s right. Nothing is coming from these Russia Russia Russia investigations in terms of the central premise (based on a fake document), that team Trump colluded with Russia (which wouldn’t be a crime in the first place), yet, we keep learning more and more about the bad actions of the Obama administration, things the media did not want to investigate during Obama’s time in office.

‘Climate Change’ To Bring Polar Vortex Doom For Christmas

This is all your fault for daring to take a fossil fueled to trip to see your relatives, rather than walking or riding a bike hundreds or thousands of miles. Oh, and it’s brought to you by the same people who always say “weather is not climate”, right before they say every weather event is caused by/linked to carbon pollution

US ‘polar vortex’ to bring weather ‘extremes off the scale’ in time for Christmas

WEATHER weirding is getting real.

And the United States is about to experience an extreme Christmas, according to forward forecasts.

Something very odd is happening to the jetstreams of air that circle the globe.

And it’s about to generate another of the ‘polar vortex’ effects that has slammed the United States with heavy snow falls much further south than usual in recent years. (snip)

“On the ‘drunk jet stream’ or ‘jet weirding’ scale of climate disruption, the upcoming next 7-10 days will see extremes off the scale,” Maue says.

And the same people who complain about carbon pollution from fossil fuels will themselves be using lots of fossil fuels over the holiday season.

Former Oasis Frontman Cuts Ad On ‘Climate Change’ And Christmas

You just knew this stuff was coming, right? That the Cult of Climastrology would use Christmas to push their own cultish beliefs? (all the bold was from the article)

(Blasting News) Outspoken former Oasis lead singer #Liam Gallagher has been giving his backing to #climate change awareness recently, as he demonstrated an acute appreciation for the #Global Issues facing humanity through a new project for the festive period. His seasonal contribution to a heart-warming cartoon entitled ‘The Very Hot Snowman’ saw the strongly opinionated singer/songwriter lend his distinctive voice to the narration of the timely tale.

The younger of the often-argumentative Gallagher brothers has been keen to push the underlying theme that the children’s cartoon seeks to promote, as the story centres on a snowman whose very existence is endangered by rising temperatures across the globe.

A modern-day spin on a classic Christmas tale maybe, but 45-year-old Liam is vehement in his message that “the Earth is too hot, and it’s getting hotter.”

Man, if only Gallagher hadn’t used so much in the way of fossil fuels to travel around the world playing concerts.

(Mashable) “It’s winter, and it’s cold this time of year isn’t it?” Gallagher says in the clip with his northern accent. “Maybe you want to snuggle up with a hot chocolate or wrap up warm and wear your biggest coat. But in the grand scheme of things, our Earth is too hot, and it’s getting even hotter.”

These people

U.N To Vote On Nullifying U.S. Jerusalem Decision Or Something

It looks like the United Nations has gotten a bit too big for their britches, thinking they can nullify U.S. law and presidential decisions

UN to vote Monday on call for US Jerusalem decision to be withdrawn

The United Nations Security Council is due to vote on Monday on a draft resolution calling for the withdrawal of U.S. President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, diplomats said, a move likely to face a Washington veto.

The one-page Egyptian-drafted text, seen by Reuters, does not specifically mention the United States or Trump. Diplomats say it has broad support among the 15-member council, and while it is unlikely to be adopted, the vote will further isolate Trump on the issue.

To pass, a resolution needs nine votes in favor and no vetoes by the United States, France, Britain, Russia or China.

Trump abruptly reversed decades of U.S. policy this month when he recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, generating outrage from Palestinians. Trump also plans to move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv.

The Jerusalem Embassy Act was passed in 1995, and declared that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, and that the U.S. embassy would be moved to the city. In fact, it was Bill Clinton, George Bush, and Barack Obama who failed to uphold the law. Trump is following the law.

Arab foreign ministers agreed to seek a UN Security Council resolution on the issue. The draft UN text expresses “deep regret at recent decisions concerning the status of Jerusalem.”

It “affirms that any decisions and actions which purport to have altered, the character, status or demographic composition of the Holy City of Jerusalem have no legal effect, are null and void and must be rescinded in compliance with relevant resolutions of the Security Council.”

The draft also calls upon all countries to refrain from establishing diplomatic missions in Jerusalem. (snip)

The draft council resolution “demands that all states comply with Security Council resolutions regarding the Holy City of Jerusalem, and not to recognize any actions or measures contrary to those resolutions.”

Huh. So the UN thinks it can change U.S. law? Morons. Further, we see the typical Israel Derangement Syndrome/hatred on display. Via Twitchy

It’s not, because the U.S. could simply veto the resolution in the Security Council. And can utterly ignore any General Body vote.

More: the vote was 14-1, with the U.S. shooting the idiocy down and

Washington Post Investigation: DEA Agents Livid Obama Administration Minimized Their Opioid Case

Can you guess what names do not appear in this article? Neither Barack Obama nor Loretta Lynch. Had this ocurred fully under a Republican President, the Blamestorming would have been epic. In fact, they almost make it seem as if it was Trump’s DOJ which settled this case, instead of prosecuting it, early on

‘We feel like our system was hijacked’: DEA agents say a huge opioid case ended in a whimper

After two years of painstaking investigation, David Schiller and the rest of the Drug Enforcement Administration team he supervised were ready to move on the biggest opioid distribution case in U.S. history.

The team, based out of the DEA’s Denver field division, had been examining the operations of the nation’s largest drug company, McKesson Corp. By 2014, investigators said they could show that the company had failed to report suspicious orders involving millions of highly addictive painkillers sent to drugstores from Sacramento, Calif., to Lakeland, Fla. Some of those went to corrupt pharmacies that supplied drug rings.

The investigators were ready to come down hard on the fifth-largest public corporation in America, according to a joint investigation by The Washington Post and “60 Minutes.” (WT: this article is well worth the read, which includes an interview with retired DEA Agent David Schiller)

The DEA team — nine field divisions working with 12 U.S. attorney’s offices across 11 states — wanted to revoke registrations to distribute controlled substances at some of McKesson’s 30 drug warehouses. Schiller and members of his team wanted to fine the company more than $1 billion. More than anything else, they wanted to bring the first-ever criminal case against a drug distribution company, maybe even walk an executive in handcuffs out of McKesson’s towering San Francisco headquarters to send a message to the rest of the industry.

“This is the best case we’ve ever had against a major distributor in the history of the Drug Enforcement Administration,” said Schiller, who recently retired as assistant special agent in charge of DEA’s Denver field division after a 30-year career with the agency. “I said, ‘How do we not go after the number one organization?’ ”

But it didn’t work out that way.

Instead, top attorneys at the DEA and the Justice Department struck a deal earlier this year with the corporation and its powerful lawyers, an agreement that was far more lenient than the field division wanted, according to interviews and internal government documents. Although the agents and investigators said they had plenty of evidence and wanted criminal charges, they were unable to convince the U.S. attorney in Denver that they had enough to bring a case.

It’s not till late into the article, when most people have already moved on, that we learn that this happened in January. And even then, the date is not announced.

In September 2015, McKesson and the government reached a tentative settlement. McKesson’s registrations would be suspended in Aurora for three years, in Washington Courthouse for two and in Livonia for two. The company would be barred from distributing for one year one type of narcotic, hydromorphone, from its Lakeland, Fla., warehouse.

There would be no criminal charges. No administrative case. No $1 billion fine.

The case took more than a year to come to a conclusion. In January, the Justice Department announced that it had finalized a deal with McKesson that included the $150 million fine and the four warehouse suspensions. The company also agreed to increase staffing and retain an independent monitor to assess its compliance.

In fact, the announcement was made on January 17th, days before Mr. Trump would take his oath of office. Yet, the Washington Post can’t even work up the outrage to castigate Mr. Obama nor Loretta Lynch. Can you imagine the outrage towards Trump and AG Jeff Sessions if this had happened in, say, August of this year?

Anyhow, both articles are rather disturbing. The DEA agents did their jobs, in what should have been a slam dunk case. The DOJ and high mucky muck levels of the DEA wanted to negotiate with McKesson, rather than prosecute, and even verbally assaulted the DEA agents involved in the investigation, taking them to task. McKesson had already been fined in 2008 for doing shady things with hydrocodone. And from the 60 Minutes article we learn

Bill Whitaker: One of the Former D.E.A. Administrators said that the McKesson Corporation has fueled the explosive prescription drug abuse problem in this country. Do you agree with that?

David Schiller: 100%. If they woulda stayed in compliance with their authority and held those that they’re supplying the pills to, the epidemic would be nowhere near where it is right now. Nowhere near.

Obama told us about this opioid epidemic, and here his DOJ and top levels of DEA let McKesson off the hook with a big slap on the wrist. A $150 million slap on the wrist, but, no one went to jail. The company is still operating.

Rising Seas Will Displace 150 Million By 2100 Or Something

Today’s latest scary prognostication

Rising seas will displace 150 million people by 2100, says climate report

Lands inhabited by more than 150 million people could be submerged in water by the end of this century. That’s according to the latest projections from a group of US researchers.

A new study published in the journal Earth’s Future used the latest information from the Antarctic ice sheet and combined it with existing models on the expected rise in sea levels.

The academics behind the report found that if levels of greenhouse gas emission remain high, the median global average sea-level rise could be 4ft 9ins (1.5 meters) by 2100. Astonishingly, this is double the estimate of 2ft 5ins (736cm) projected by the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) in 2014.

Astonishingly, this is over seven times the actual recorded sea rise that was measured using actual measuring instruments, vs computer models.

One has to wonder, if we’re all so doomed, why do all the elites have homes at the sea shore, and keep acquiring more.
