Today’s Media Freakout: No One To Clean Toilets At National Parks

‘Nobody to pump the toilets?’ Trump purge could cripple parks.

With the Trump administration culling potentially thousands of park rangers from the federal ranks, some within the National Park Service are bracing for a tough summer as crowds descend on understaffed park facilities.

The effects of the new order in Washington are already being felt across the nation’s parks with maintenance staffs cut to single digits, a major park reservation system to help slow congestion taken offline and warnings from congressional Democrats that thousands of seasonal workers need to be hired in short order. Those temporary staffers do everything from collect entry fees — a significant portion of park income — to guide tours and pump toilets.

Isn’t it great how the Credentialed Media thinks that everyone is just there to serve them? Like cleaning toilets?

It was unclear Tuesday how many National Park Service employees took the “buyout” offer, but the administration has reportedly rescinded job offers for roughly 2,000 seasonal hires and perhaps fired almost as many recently hired staffers who were in their probation periods. An email viewed by POLITICO’s E&E News indicated there were around 1,900 probationary employees within NPS, although the exact number of people who were terminated is unclear.

Sooooooo……they don’t actually know? That’s not journalism. It’s more like something from the Weekly World News. They’re making bat guano up. Anyhow, the “article” yammers with some anonymous employees fearmongering about hiring freezes and layoffs/terminations, but, weirdly, I do not remember Politico or the other outlets concerned when Obama shut all the parks down, do you?

NPS said in a statement that it was implementing the president’s executive order to freeze hiring but noted its allowances for exceptions, which included seasonal workers.

“The order does allow for exemptions for the hiring of certain positions,” NPS said in a statement. “The NPS is assessing our most critical staffing needs for park operations for the coming season and is working to hire key positions. The NPS is committed to protecting public lands, infrastructure, and communities while ensuring public access.”

So, they can still hire the seasonal workers. And this shall all pass once the deadwood is eliminated.

Another fired NPS employee said in a post on LinkedIn on Sunday that they were just 10 days short of the end of their probationary period. The Trump administration’s purge of employees will make it impossible for the NPS to fulfill its mission to protect its lands, they said.

“Yes, there will be long lines at the parks’ fee booths, closed visitor centers, overflowing toilets, and poop on the trails, but there will also be severely impaired natural and cultural resources,” they wrote.

Good grief, what is it with these people and toilets and poop? There was another mention further up in the article. Also, where was the concern when federal employees were terminated for refusing to take the worthless COVID vaccine?

Surprise: Most Cannot Afford Net Zero Homes

It’s almost like this stuff is for the rich, and the peasants will just be shuffled off to tiny apartments in mass housing

Net-zero homes are touted as a solution for climate change, but they remain out of reach for most

Net-zero homes use natural energy sources and are designed to use less energy and, as such, are considered important in the fight against climate change. But for the average Canadian, they’re still out of reach.

Net-zero homes are important for tackling climate change. This includes both net-zero energy (NZE) homes, which produce as much energy as they use each year, and net-zero carbon (NZC) homes, which don’t release any carbon dioxide.

Important to whom? The elites and brainwashed disciples of the climate cult?

Released in the summer of 2024, the Canada Green Buildings Strategy outlines a bold vision to transform the country’s building sector, aiming for net-zero emissions and enhanced resilience by 2050. This is a bold step forward, but transforming the sector will require sustained collaboration across all levels of government, industry and communities.

You will comply, whether you want to or not. Sounds rather authoritarian, eh?

Net-zero homes use green energy sources and efficient designs to match the amount of energy they produce with the amount they use. They use strategies like thermal shells that use less energy, high-performance components and the addition of green energy systems.

Who thinks the Government will monitor your energy usage and cut you off after a certain point?

Net-zero homes are becoming more popular in Canada. To speed up building processes and reduce costs, builders are trying out pre-fabricated and modular building techniques.

In 2024, the Canadian federal government announced a $600 million package of loans and funding to help make it easier and cheaper to build homes. This funding will support innovative technologies like pre-fabricated and modular construction, robotics, 3D-printing and mass timber to build homes faster and cheaper.

So, every home will like every home and you won’t really have a choice. Plus, crappy construction.

There are several reasons that owning a net-zero home has not yet become widespread. These include: high initial costs, limited awareness and education, gaps in policy and regulation and market challenges including difficulties in scaling up and integrating net-zero technologies.

Fortunately, the Government wants to get heavily involved, hence, they’ll have a voice in what happens with your home. Sounds fun!

DOGE Finds Some Pretty Damned Interesting Information On Social Security Recipients

Social Security head resigns over DOGE data push

The Social Security Administration’s top official resigned over the weekend in the latest clash over the Department of Government Efficiency’s (DOGE) access to sensitive government records, the Washington Post reports.

Why it matters: The agency is quickly becoming a target of Elon Musk, who has claimed without conclusive evidence that there’s rampant fraud from improper payments to dead people.

No evidence, eh?

Elon Musk indicated in a post on X that millions of people listed in a Social Security database are recorded as centenarians “with the death field set to FALSE!”

“According to the Social Security database, these are the numbers of people in each age bucket with the death field set to FALSE! Maybe Twilight is real and there are a lot of vampires collecting Social Security,” Musk posted, adding a couple of rolling on the floor laughing emojis.

His post features a chart indicating there are more than 20 million listed with ages 100 and higher, including more than 3.9 million in the 130-139 age range, more than 3.5 million in the 140-149 range and more than 1.3 million in the 150-159 range.

One would think that the head of Social Security would want to root out the improper payments to people who are dead (or do not exist). Does she actually want this fraud on her watch? It may not be her fault, but, wouldn’t it be great if she was involved in stream-lining the agency so it works best for Americans on Social Security? If all those payments were stopped wouldn’t that mean more available money? Same with the other agency heads who are freaking out.

“The logic flow diagram for the Social Security system looks INSANE. No one person actually knows how it works. The payment files that move between Social Security and Treasury have significant inconsistencies that are not reconciled. It’s wild,” Musk declared in a post on X.

Should that not be concerning? How about that the Treasury Department often leaving their symbol blank so there is no accounting for money?

It’s now required for every line to be coded.

Bummer: Asset Managers Have Low Interest In Climate (scam) Proposals

It was bound to happen, because investors and companies were going to get tired of all these global boiling plans that most have little to no return on investment

Plans to tackle environmental risks ‘got record-low support from asset managers’

Proposals aimed at tackling environmental and social risks saw record-low support from asset managers at shareholder meetings last year, according to an analysis.

ShareAction, which campaigns for responsible investment, found that only 1.4% – four of the 279 shareholder resolutions it assessed – received majority support in 2024, down from 21% in 2021.

Resolutions can be put forward by company shareholders, asking the board to take certain actions on issues like corporate governance, environmental and human rights risks, diversity and inclusion, and bosses’ pay.

They are then voted on at a shareholder meeting, usually annual general meetings (AGMs), and while not legally binding, significant support can put pressure on the board to respond to the matters raised.

ShareAction’s annual Voting Matters report, released on Tuesday, found that four of the world’s largest asset managers – BlackRock, Fidelity Investments, State Street Global Advisors and Vanguard – voted against shareholder proposals aimed at protecting human rights, nature and climate last year.

Do those make money? Do those reward investors and shareholders? Heck, do they reward the bigwigs who run the companies? Who are the people putting these proposals up for a vote? Why can’t they use their own money? Do they use they their own money at any time, or, just demand that the companies use their money, ie, the investors/shareholders money? Sadly, the climate cult has mixed their cult with human rights and nature, ruining those for the people who need it?

ShareAction claim that had asset managers supported shareholder proposals put forward at 190 companies, it may have helped to improve conditions for low-paid workers struggling with the global cost-of-living crisis and driven climate action at a time when impacts from warming are devastating communities worldwide.

See? They’re mixing various real issues with the scam. Also, why can’t ShareAction raise their own money to do these projects.

Democrats Upset Over Trump Admin Trying To Stop Migrant Child Sex Trafficking

Trump’s Opening Move Against Migrant Sex Trafficking

Melissa Harper, who was installed a few weeks ago as the temporary head of the federal government’s Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), is wasting no time making important and necessary changes to the agency’s infamous Unaccompanied Alien Children program. On Friday, the agency released new guidance that will make it more difficult for members of transnational criminal organizations and pimps to “sponsor” teenage migrants and then traffic them for sex or labor. The problem grew significantly under the Biden administration, with three times more victims applying for government benefits under the Victims of Trafficking and Violence Protection Act during the Biden administration.

The most significant change is that all potential sponsors must be fingerprinted, and the fingerprints must be sent to the FBI to check for criminal records. No child will be released to a sponsor until their fingerprints are recorded in the unaccompanied child’s file. In addition, all identification documents must be legible and unexpired.

Critics of the Trump administration’s immigration policy complain that cumbersome fingerprinting and identification rules could delay the vetting of sponsors, leading to a backlog and overcrowding in shelters that house unaccompanied children. They also fear that under Harper, who has been an official with Immigration and Customs Enforcement since 2007, ORR will share information about the sponsors, most of whom are illegal immigrants themselves, with ICE, making it easier to arrest and deport them. But Harper was unapologetic in an email to the ORR staff. “The pervasive fraud in the sponsor process is undeniable,’ she wrote.

Um, so, “critics”, meaning Democrat and Never Trumpers, are against a proper vetting system to keep children out of the hands of bad people who could do very bad things to children, including sex trafficking? Do these “critics” ever stop and listen to themselves?

Last October, The Free Press published an exposé about the explosion of labor and sex trafficking by transnational criminal organizations operating in the U.S.—trafficking enabled in no small part by the Biden administration’s open border policies. Gang members and others who were essentially pimps took advantage of the system by claiming to be “sponsors” of unaccompanied teens who were being housed temporarily in shelters run by federally contracted NGOs.

These are the people “critics” are supporting over children. Why? Is it simply because Orange Man Bad so take the opposite position, or is it something more nefarious?

Tara Rodas, a whistleblower who has documented that fraud, told The Free Press, “We can’t continue to prioritize the anonymity of the sponsors over the safety of the children.” Rodas, 56, a federal employee, was shocked by the problems she witnessed while volunteering at an ORR-run shelter for unaccompanied children in 2021. “These new changes are basic, commonsense things and are the bare minimum for a program wrought with fraud.”

But, “critics.”

“There are criticisms that these new rules will discourage sponsors from coming forward to claim unaccompanied children, but frankly, these children might be better off in government custody than with some of these so-called sponsors,” Florida prosecutor Rich Mantei told The Free Press. “I applaud this small step toward making it much safer for these children. It’s good, it’s positive, but it’s not enough, in my opinion.”

Your Fault: San Francisco Seeing Climate (scam) Driven Rat Explosion

It couldn’t possibly be due to San Fran being an open sewer full of people literally shitting and peeing in the streets, right? Or all the trash, right? Or businesses fleeing the city, leaving lots of unused buildings perfect for rats to breed in, right? No, it has to be a slight increase in global temperatures over the course of 170 years

Rikki Ercoli has lived off San Francisco’s Market Street for 19 years, but he never saw rats until this year. At night, he says, he glances through his bay windows and sees them scurrying. And they’re not small ones, either.

“They’re pretty fat,” Ercoli, a photographer, said. “The trash room is directly below me, and I see them running out in packs of two and three.”

Of all the urban woes that keep San Francisco residents up at night — an owner move-in eviction, losing your homeowners insurance, the Big One — few afflictions match the mundane horror of a rat infestation. Their size startles us. They make a mess. They’re embarrassing.

And their numbers may be increasing — dramatically.

Are they increasing or not? They’re writing a fearmongering article without knowing if the rat population is increasing or not.

A study of 16 major cities (14 in North America, plus Amsterdam and Tokyo) over an average of 12 years published in Science Advances last month found that climate change is fueling a hemisphere-wide population boom for Rattus rattus, or the black rat. In the case of San Francisco, the population has grown by more than 10% — more than every other city in the study besides Washington, D.C.

Yeah, that study is full of lots of mights, ifs, maybes, we thinks, based on computer models and shoddy statistics.

Jokes about a rodent infestation in the nation’s capital aside, there’s nothing funny about what’s going on here in San Francisco. Rodolfo Dirzoa, a professor of environmental science at Stanford University who was not involved in the original study, said the findings are consistent with what he sees happening in the Bay Area. He said another point in the study is hugely significant: the increasing loss of vegetation.

“The reduction of population regulation associated with the loss or decline of natural biodiversity,” Dirzo wrote via email, “creates an ideal synergy for rat proliferation.”

Well, maybe don’t cut all the trees and shrubs down. Heck, there are plenty of empty buildings that could be turned into residential.

Fragmented ecosystems give rats opportunities to thrive, causing what Dirzo calls a “rodentation” of the city. Exterminator Maria Talacona, co-founder of the Bay Area’s Mighty Men Pest Control, is all too familiar with it. “We’re definitely seeing an increase in rodent activity anywhere buildings are extremely close together,” Talacona said, adding that this living nightmare is “my favorite thing to talk about.”

An inability to walk around all four sides of a building creates spaces where humans can’t leave their scent behind. That signals that a place is safe to burrow and build nests. “It gives them a very strong advantage, because we can’t get to them.” The other pathway for an infestation is garage doors. If they don’t close tightly, rats can get inside.

So, it is a manmade issue, but, nothing to do with climate doom

Climate change, Talacona added, is very likely messing with local rats’ predators, such as raptors and garter snakes. (The carnivorous California squirrels that made headlines late last year seem content to eat only voles … for now.)

Or, it could be due to paving everything and biosphere loss. Anyhow, here we go

However, Talacona said that in her experience, the other reason for the exploding rat population is the state’s new approach to rat poison. To protect the health of birds, mountain lions, and other animals that may consume poisoned rats, Gov. Gavin Newsom signed a bill in 2024 that prohibited the use of anticoagulant rodenticides, leading the Center for Biological Diversity to crow that “California OKs strongest rat poison restrictions in nation.” Talacona likened that approach to throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

And there we go, it’s damned near impossible to do anything to stop the rats from breeding.

Democrats Upset Republicans Running Circles Around Them Online

Well, it’s not really hard when Democrats are supporting keeping fraud, waste, worthless federal employees, and so much more that the American citizens do not want

The Department of Government Efficiency created its own account on X last November, amassing 4 million followers with a stream of news on contract cancellations and other cuts to the bureaucracy. Elon Musk has posted relentlessly on the social media platform he owns, promoting his own voice on an algorithm he controls.

The Democratic National Committee, meanwhile, started a rapid response account in January with about 121,000 followers, a fraction of DOGE’s reach. And Democrats held traditional rallies outside the USAID and Treasury buildings, where Chuck Schumer, the Senate minority leader, was mocked on late-night TV and by even some within his own party after leading a chant of “We will win!”

It was a halting response by Democrats to a flood of pro-DOGE messaging. And what was worse, according to interviews with more than a dozen Democratic elected officials and strategists, was that they were doing it on the wrong platform — convening a conventional show of resistance for local and national TV cameras, as Schumer did while holding a carton of eggs, while largely leaving unanswered the torrent of MAGA orthodoxy and, in many cases, disinformation online.

In the online war, said Chi Ossé, a Democratic New York City councilman who has built an online following through his short-form, explanatory videos, you “don’t see those folks anywhere.”

“Trump and Republicans have been able to grasp different types of media in how to get their message across that impacts society as a whole, and I do believe that Dem leadership is missing the mark, not only in the election but in our resistance 2.0,” Ossé said. “We need to be active in every medium.”

It’s not the messaging, it’s the message. “Hey, the federal government is wasting your taxpayer money big time. We’re hiring people who are unqualified and/or wackos with agendas. We’re forcing your female children to have unhinged males who think they’re female in their safe spaces and sports. We’re sending your money to far flung nations for insane projects and a good chunk disappears into the pockets of who knows. And so much more.” How’s that working out. But, it’s not just on social media

If you read the full transcript of the exchange it gets much, much worse. The Credentialed Media doesn’t seem to understand that their schtick doesn’t work anymore. No one believes it. Americans deride it. Sure, the public school systems have been atrocious at teaching history, like WWII, but, Americans are not as stupid as the Democrats think they are.

‘Climate Change’ Making Things Harder On First Responders Or Something

How climate change puts additional strain on first responders job duties

In Lowville, New York, the sheriff’s department is bracing for a harsher winter season as climate change makes lake-effect snow more intense and unpredictable. Experts predict that these weather conditions are likely to worsen, creating even more challenges for police and first responders across the country.

Sheriff Mike Carpinelli of Lewis County said that the region’s snowstorms can quickly intensify, sometimes accumulating a foot of snow in just a couple of hours.

“You can’t always see it coming,” he said, emphasizing the difficulty in preparing for such rapid changes in weather. (snip)

According to Dan Horton, who runs Northwestern University’s Climate Change Research Group, the warming climate is contributing to more intense lake-effect snow.

“It certainly seems like the new normal as the planet continues to warm,” Horton says.

Horton said that due to fossil fuel and global warming, lakes are warming and not freezing as much in the winter.

Good grief. These people. It really is a cult. No matter the issue the answer is always global boiling.
